#1  When Augusta Ga as a small town of about 31,000+/- back in May 11th, 1970 Augusta Ga. It had a Riot that that was driven totally based on a Black Radical group's deliberate misinformation.

So why the history lesson, and what does it have to do with this song?

As the Rioters started moving to the outskirts of Augusta to loot bigger stores, it resulted in over 100+ persons/rioters being reported missing in the coming days.

Rumor has it that the Love Lane dirt road Swamp area ate well.

BTW: Wikipedia has a lot of its data (not facts) wrong. But whoever wrote it made sure it read LSD politically correct .

#2  The demise of cities and overall population growth has bloated many small towns into mini-cities. The are still small towns where everyone knows each other, but Mayberry type situations are less normal than in the 70s. BLM placards were present in several 20 to 50k Ohio municipalities during the Summer of Love that I observed , but there was no violence or property destruction. Local liberal youths commuted from Kent to Akron and Cleveland for their rioting options.

#3  ^ Arcata, CA: population 18,000+. Most of the downtown businesses also have the BLM signs up in the windows as protection against the mobs from the local state university. There's no violence as the population has been successfully subjugated.

#4  I remember having a laugh, decades ago and two thousand miles from Arcata, at a song on a punk compilation. Achieved running joke status for a awhile. Refrain: "Arcata police, get off the f-cking streets!"

#5  We don't have BLM in my little 831 pop town.
We do have holiday parades, car shows and the high school track team girls do a fine bikini car wash.
The Chief of Police is generally accessible during lunch at the local Quik-Mart gas station and post office. The Volunteer FD meets monthly for a budget review and public BBQ.

The Remarkable Life of Maye Musk: Elon Musk's Inspiring Mother
[Blinkist Mag] Maye Musk, the sensational mother of tech mogul Elon Musk, has not only been a guiding force in his life but has also left an indelible mark on his achievements. In this article, we explore the inspiring story of Maye Musk and the profound impact she has had on Elon’s extraordinary career.

Maye Musk: From a Renowned Model Into a Single Mother Maye Musk is currently 75 years old. Born in Regina, Canada, in 1948, is much more than just Elon Musk’s mother. A talented and accomplished woman, she is a distinguished model, nutritionist, and author.

At the age of 15, she started modeling, and in 1969, she was a finalist in the Miss South Africa beauty competition. One year later, in 1970, she married Errol Musk, a South African engineer with whom she had 3 children: Elin, Kimbal, and Tosca. In 1979, they divorced after the law allowed it, and continued raising her 3 kids as a single mom. She struggled with 5 jobs at the same time to pay rent and buy food. The reason for the divorce was not publicly disclosed, but in 2019 in her book "A Woman Makes a Plan" she implied it was an abusive relationship.

While Elon Musk’s net worth positions him among the world’s wealthiest individuals, it is crucial to note that his massive success comes primarily from his exceptional entrepreneurial ventures rather than his family’s wealth.

#1  Off the "kick-ass mothers and unworthy limericks" pile...

From a world where a girl in her wrath
Shocked Mom in that glass-bottomed bath,
Dissolving her troubles
Like so many bubbles,
Passed lively old Sylvia Plath,
Leaving shelves of light verse in her path.

Hollywood version, like.

Geraldo Cries Again On National TV – He's Been Broken
[Republic Brief] Geraldo Rivera left Fox News in 2016 after working there for two decades. Geraldo is currently on a "media tour" and has been complaining about the events that he alleges led to his termination from "The Five," which led him to leave the network.

Rivera complained to NewsNation presenter Chris Cuomo, telling him that his fights with well-liked FOX personality Greg Gutfeld were the primary cause of his termination from "The Five."

"Fox left me. They fired me from the number one rated show ’The Five.’ After they fired me, I said, ’Well, wait a second. You know, I don’t want to work here anymore.’ If you are firing me from the number one show, what are you going to do?" Rivera said. "After they fired me, they gave me a plethora of options, other programs I could do ... but I said, ’No, I don’t want to do that.’"

#1  After they fired me, they gave me a plethora of pinatas

Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Kansas, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?

#2  He doesn’t list the other options they offered him. Hopefully, Geraldo will take his drama to Broadway. Maybe a musical version of the life of Che. Alternately, someone could put together a podcast competitor for The Five comprised of the most annoying people that have been recently fired. If ESPN keeps chopping, it may have to be eight people, though.

A True Lowcountry Escape
[G&G] Along the South Carolina coast, few destinations embody Lowcountry idyll quite as thoroughly as Bluffton. Just outside Hilton Head Island and Daufuskie Island, this small, authentic community on the May River has the feel of a Southern daydream: ancient live oaks drip with Spanish moss, spartina grass borders quiet marshlands, and wide, wrap-around porches hug rows of historic homes. Dating back to 1852, Bluffton has a rich history, evident in the eighty-plus sites that make up the Old Town Bluffton Historic District, where architectural styles from coastal to gothic are on display. Combine the setting’s unique character and beautiful surroundings with an array of buzzing shops, restaurants, and events, and you have the makings of one worthy destination.

Multiple passengers onboard Delta flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta PASS OUT and soil themselves while waiting to take off in 111F heat with no air conditioning, as Southwest bakes under 'heat dome'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Passengers on a flight leaving Las Vegas for Atlanta on Monday had to be helped off as temperatures at Harry Reid International Airport climbed to 115 degrees

  • One news reporter on board said flight attendants were running down aisles with oxygen tanks, before emergency services wheeled the passengers off

  • It comes as the southwest continues to get hit with intense temperatures, which have resulted in the death of one man

#4  The airlines are playing games with people's lives. The government metric is when planes depart on time. That is gamed because pushing off from the passenger terminal is the when the aircraft is credited with leaving. So, passengers sit and sit and sit.

China-Japan-Koreas
War with China over Taiwan? Don't expect US allies to join
[Responsible Statecraft] A new report indicates that at least one major partner in the region would be hesitant to enter the fray. And it isn’t the only one.

If there is a war with China over Taiwan, America’s regional allies aren’t likely to join the U.S. in fighting it.

While it is often assumed in Washington that it could count on at least some of its treaty allies to support and join American forces, this is based on best-case scenarios and wishful thinking. Even the most reliable treaty allies, including Japan and Australia, would be reluctant to join what would be a very costly U.S. war effort.

In the absence of allied support, the already daunting challenge of defending Taiwan would become even more difficult.

The Wall Street Journal reported over the weekend on Japan’s lack of commitment to involve itself directly in the defense of Taiwan. According to the report, the Japanese government might give permission to let the U.S. use bases in Japan, but its own participation is unlikely: "Japanese leaders publicly shun discussion of a role in any Taiwan war, in part because public opinion is generally against getting ensnared in a conflict."

While the Japanese government has been increasing its military spending, it is doing that for the sake of its own defense and not so that it can take part in a major war. As Kiyoshi Sugawa wrote for Responsible Statecraft in May, "The United States should not take it for granted that Japan will simply go along with Washington’s desires or expectations."

This reluctance is influenced by Japanese public opinion. As an analysis for Voice of America noted last year, Japanese involvement in a Taiwan conflict is "far from certain and not popularly supported within Japan." According to a poll this spring conducted for The Asahi Shimbun, just 11 percent of Japanese respondents said that their armed forces should join the U.S. in the fighting, and 27 percent said that their forces should not work with the U.S. military at all.

US deploys nuclear-armed submarine to S. Korea in show of force against N. Korea
[An Nahar] The United States deployed a nuclear-armed submarine to South Korea on Tuesday for the first time in four decades, as the allies warned North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
that any use of the North's nuclear weapons in combat would result in the end of its regime.

Periodic visits by U.S. nuclear ballistic missile-capable submarines to South Korea were one of several agreements reached by the two countries' presidents in April in response to North Korea's expanding nuclear threat. They also agreed to establish a bilateral Nuclear Consultative Group and expand military exercises.

The USS Kentucky, an Ohio-class submarine, arrived at the South Korean port of Busan on Tuesday afternoon, South Korea's Defense Ministry said. It is the first visit by a U.S. nuclear-armed submarine to South Korea since the 1980s, it said.

Defense Minister Lee Jong-Sup called the submarine's visit a demonstration of U.S. resolve in implementing its "extended deterrence" commitment, a pledge by the U.S. to use its full military capabilities, including nuclear weapons, to protect its allies, the ministry said in a statement.

He said the submarine's visit "shows the allies' overwhelming capability and posture against North Korea."

During the Cold War in the late 1970s, U.S. nuclear-armed ballistic missile submarines made frequent visits to South Korea, sometimes two or three times per month, according to the Federation of American Scientists. It was a period when the U.S. had hundreds of nuclear warheads located in South Korea. But in 1991, the United States withdrew all of its nuclear weapons from the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea's nuclear ambitions have taken on a new urgency after it threatened to use nuclear weapons in conflicts with its rivals and conducted about 100 missile tests since the start of last year. Last week, North Korea conducted a second test of a more mobile and powerful intercontinental ballistic missile designed to strike the mainland United States. After observing that launch, North Korean leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
vowed to further strengthen his country's nuclear combat capabilities.

Also on Tuesday, South Korean and U.S. officials held the inaugural meeting of the Nuclear Consultative Group in Seoul to discuss ways to strengthen deterrence against North Korea's nuclear threats.
