Woke U of Minnesota professor says the goal is to dismantle the United States
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A professor at University of Minnesota recently called on students during a panel discussion to "dismantle the settler project that is the United States."

Professor Melanie Yazzie was participating on a panel hosted by The Red Nation,
... a Native American advocacy group that focusses on decolonisation and anti-capitalism, and placing Native Americans in the middle of the climate panic...
a group to which she belongs. The anti-Israel organization's about page says the organization is "dedicated to the liberation of Native peoples from capitalism and colonialism" and announces its support for Paleostine and "their struggle for decolonization and landback."

The page has its own podcast playlist page that includes an episode titled, "A free Paleostine frees us all" and another published on Oct. 9 called, "'A nightmare and a dream': Paleostinians rise up."

In a clip of the discussion posted by X account @MythinformedMKE Yazzie said that people often associate the "landback" movement with "genocide."

Introducing the topic she said "landback" is not genocide but it is certainly "going to happen."

"What we really want to take away tonight, is... 'We're in the belly of the beast," Yazzie told the audience. "We're all indigenous people who come from nations that are under occupation by the United States government."

"And of course the US bankrolls the Israeli occupation of Paleostinian land. They're one in the same," Yazzie added.
She and they deliberately ignore the fact that the Jews are actually the indigenous people of the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean, recorded in the histories of the surrounding nations going back to the ancient Egyptians writing about the Hebiru.
Yazzie then further talked about the United States as the "greatest predator empire that ever existed."

"The goal is to dismantle the settler project that is the United States. For the freedom and future of all life on this planet depends on that," Yazzie concluded."

#3  The original inhabitants of Europe were largely displace by the Celts, the Basques being probably the last remnants. Those in turn were displaced by Greeks, Romans, Goths, Huns, Lombards....someone from the east pushed and everyone else pushed further west. The problem for the indigenous Americans is that someone got the technology to traverse the Atlantic and had better organization and technology than the 'stone age'. Somalia: AU troops hand over strategic base to Somali forces ahead of exit
[Garowe] The African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has handed over a strategic military base to the Somali National Army, which is now the fifth of the Forward Operating Bases to be handed over in the second phase of the withdrawal of peacekeepers from Somalia.

Qorilow Forward Operating Base is situated in the Hiraan region within HirShabelle and has been very strategic in the fight against al-Shabaab
... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
Death Eaters. The base has been hosting a Burundi contingent since 2014 when it was first inaugurated.

"I urge my SNA colleagues taking over the base to continue working closely with other security forces based in this region in collaboration with the civilian population. I thank the local community for the support given to our troops," said Lt. Col. Jean Baptiste Nahishakiye, the ATMIS FOB Commander, terming the handover as a significant milestone in the peacebuilding process.

SNA commander Harun Hassan will be taking charge of the facility, coordinating the Somali National Army which will be tasked to fight al-Shabaab. Col Nahishakiye and Santosh Koka, from the Transition Planning Cell, signed on behalf of ATMIS and UNSOS, respectively, ATMIS reports.

Harun, a veteran within the Somali National Army, exuded confidence that the local troops will leverage skills garnered from peacekeepers to effectively tackle insecurity within the region.

"I want to assure you that we will continue from where you have left. I would like to thank the Burundi forces for your selfless service in securing this base and the local community for many years and wish you a safe journey back home," said Lt. Harun.

The second phase of the drawdown resumed on Monday with the handover of State House and Parliament FOBs. The process is in line with the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 2710 (2023), mandating the withdrawal of 3,000 ATMIS troops by 31 December 2023.

So far, at least 5000 soldiers have left the Horn of Africa nation and the remaining will be leaving by the end of December 2024. The government of Somalia has vowed to fight al-Shabaab and subsequently, restore order and stability in the country.

Arabia
Red Sea Security Coalition Melts Down As Member Nations Refuse to Accept US Leadership
[RedState] The Biden White House's grand idea for an international coalition to protect 10 percent of the world's shipping from the threat posed by a primitive Third World nation seems to be on the verge of a meltdown over the issue of American leadership of the operation. On Friday, I reported that France had withdrawn from Operation Prosperity Guardian, which was to be a US-led multinational coalition with the mission of keeping the Red Sea, and particularly the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, open to international shipping; see Biden's Plan to Safeguard Red Sea Trade From Houthis May Match Afghanistan in Incompetence. Since then, Italy and Spain have announced they will not participate in a US-led operation.

Membership in Operation Prosperity Guardian has always been somewhat suspect. In Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's statement on the formation of the alleged coalition, he publicly identifies 10 members: the United States, United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles, and Spain. In a follow-up press conference, Pentagon spokesman USAF Major General Pat Ryder claimed the coalition was growing.

There have been solid results: To date more than 20 nations have signed on to participate, Ryder said. "In the days ahead, the United States will continue to consult closely with our allies and partners who share the fundamental principle of freedom of navigation, and we expect to see the coalition continue to grow," he said.

The fact that Egypt, whose revenue from the Suez Canal is totally dependent on Red Sea traffic, refused to join served as a warning flare about the troubles that lay ahead. Another warning sign was Bahrain being the only Arab state to participate and about half of the alleged participants refusing to be publicly identified.

Original Coalition Members
For your convenience, the coalition members not sending ships are in italics.

United Kingdom — The UK will contribute one Type 45 destroyer, HMS Diamond. Four other destroyers are in the theater of operations but will not be a part of Operation Prosperity Guardian.

Bahrain — no one seems quite sure what, if anything, Bahrain is contributing.

Canada — Canada will send three staff officers.

France — The multirole frigate Languedoc will be in the operational area, but it will remain under French command.

Italy — Italy is sending the Bergamini/FREMM class frigate Virginio Fasan "to protect its national interests in response to specific requests made by Italian shipowners."

Netherlands — The Netherlands will send two staff officers.

Norway — Norway will send 10 staff officers.

Seychelles — Seychelles will share information but will not provide physical assets or men.

Spain — Spain will only participate in EU or NATO-led operations. It has not sent ships to the area.

New Members
Greece — Greece is sending one frigate to participate in Operation Prosperity Guardian.

Australia — Australia was asked to contribute naval assets; they are sending 11 staff officers.

Denmark — Denmark is sending one staff officer.

European Union
The European Union announced it would lend a hand.

As it turns out, EU Naval Force Atalanta is an anti-piracy operation focused on the Horn of Africa. Right now, it consists of two ships from Italy and Spain. The Italian ship is the same one I mentioned above. I am going to make a leap here and assume the Spanish ship will remain on the Horn of Africa.

So, this is participation via an "X" message.

The final box score shows that the 20 coalition members will contribute a total of two surface combatants.

Naval Map of Red Sea - including Japanese, Korean, Chinese ships with Russian sub inbound
[JohnHelmer] A Russian military blog post posted on Thursday, December 21 at 11:33 Moscow time, has revealed the hitherto secret positions of all warships in the area which the Pentagon has announced for its OPERATION PROSPERITY GUARDIAN.

The fresh data and the open map (lead image) were not available when yesterday’s report was published at 09:32 Moscow time of Russia’s “two-track” strategy for opposing the US and NATO, and for protecting Russian oil shipments while the Houthi drone and missile operations are under way against Israel.

No Russian Navy vessel is in the area at present although Russian crude oil cargoes are moving through the Red Sea with Iranian and Houthi agreement. Because these ship movements are defying US and NATO sanctions, it has been decided in Moscow to negotiate safe passage with Iran and Yemen rather than deploy the Russian Navy to protect them. However, the new combined US and NATO operation, targeting the Houthis and their Iranian support and supply systems, increases the possibility of a direct American, allied, or false-flagged attack on a tanker carrying Russian oil.

In yesterday’s morning report, I indicated that “the current whereabouts of the [Chinese] warship group has not been reported in the open press.”

The Russian source map is now reporting that the Chinese Navy’s 45th Escort Task Force, comprising the Type-052 destroyer Urumqi, the Type-547 frigate Linyi, and supply ship Dongpinghu were at berth at the Chinese base at Djibouti as of Wednesday, December 20.

In Dagestan, Palestinian refugees are being issued Russian Passports
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The first group of evacuated Palestinian residents who arrived in Dagestan received passports of Russian citizens, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Abdurakhman Makhmudov announced on December 23.

“Obtaining passports gives you the opportunity to realize yourself in various fields of activity; you receive rights and benefits that are provided for by the Constitution of the Russian Federation. You will have the opportunity to receive medical care, education, and realize yourself in your professions,” Makhmudov said at the passport presentation ceremony, as reported by RIA Novosti.

As the representative of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dagestan clarified, among those who received a passport there were 26 men and 19 women. Among them are seven minors, the youngest is 14 years old.

As Regnum reported, on November 25, about 50 citizens evacuated from Palestine arrived in Dagestan . Among them are 21 children. The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov , said that he would take all issues related to the arrangement of the refugees’ life under personal control.

The chairman of the government of the republic, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, clarified the next day that the second group of Palestinian refugees had arrived in the republic.

Running for his old seat, ex-NY Congressman (D) visits Israel, calls for destroying Hamas
In certain districts being pro-Israel is necessary.
[IsraelTimes] To have another pro-Israel Republican doesn’t help much, argues Tom Suozzi, whose opponent is an ex-IDF paratrooper and mother of 7. ‘You need strong, outspoken pro-Israel Democrats’
True.
On Thursday, just under two months ahead of a special election to replace disgraced former congressman George Santos
...a smooth-talking conman-cum-Congressman. The only thing he claimed about himself during his brief political career that turned out to be true is that he’s male...
as representative of New York’s 3rd congressional district, Democrat Tom Suozzi
...CPA, JD, 1st gen. American and 2nd gen. politician, he keeps trying for the governor’s mansion in New York because he really wants to fix the state’s finances, settling for Congress each time he fails....
flew to Israel to express solidarity as part of a campaign increasingly focused on which candidate is more supportive of Jerusalem’s war against Hamas
...always the voice of sweet reason...
Suozzi is hoping to get his old job back after quitting the seat in an unsuccessful bid for governor last year, but first he has to defeat Republican contender Mazi Melesa Pilip, an Æthiopian-born Orthodox Jewish mother of seven who served as a paratrooper in the Israeli army before becoming a Nassau County politician.
Really, the only boxes she doesn’t check, for those who care about such things, are queer and Progressive Democrat. But Mr. Suozzi also doesn’t check those last two boxes.
Pilip, 44, has taken a prominent role in campaigning against the spike in antisemitism in New York following the brutal October 7 onslaught in which Hamas-led Death Eaters killed 1,200 people in southern Israel and Israel’s subsequent war on Hamas in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
For his part, Suozzi has a history of speaking out on antisemitism and was one of the drivers behind a 2018 bill allowing for sanctions on terror groups that use civilians as human shields, and "both candidates have reflected the overwhelming bipartisan support for Israel’s fight to remove Hamas from Gaza," an AIPAC spokesperson recently told the Politico website.

"I wanted to demonstrate my solidarity with Israel and with the Jewish people throughout the world through these difficult times," Suozzi told The Times of Israel on Saturday evening, the final night of his trip.

Explaining that he’d "always been in the practice of trying to see firsthand what’s going on," the former congressman said that he had met with the parents of captured IDF serviceman Omer Neutra, who comes from his district, and had toured the Gaza border community of Kfar Aza, where more than 60 people were murdered on October 7.

"It was awful," he recalled.

He lauded the Biden administration’s approach to the conflict and acknowledged that while there will likely be a "long, drawn-out" war, "this is not about Dire Revenge, this is not about retribution; we have to destroy Hamas."
Precisely.
Admitting that he "can’t imagine" what the parents of the hostages are going through, the father of three said that he "can’t shake the image from Kfar Aza."

"This is a sophisticated, disciplined terror army with a stated goal of destroying Israel and killing Jews. And they’ve said that they will do it again. There is no remorse. There is no effort, not that there could be, to explain it," he said.

Asked about international pressure for a ceasefire, Suozzi said that it was a "very laudable goal" but contended that the best way to reach a cessation of hostilities would be for Hamas to "release all the hostages and surrender."
Indeed.
Pushed on how he could differentiate himself from Pilip on Israel, a campaign issue of significant importance in his heavily Jewish district, Suozzi argued that "to have another pro-Israel Republican doesn’t really accomplish much."
He is absolutely wrong there — those who love Israel should first strengthen the party that already supports Israel, then only afterward weaken the party that hates it...
"What you need are more pro-Israel Democrats, and if you want support of Israel to remain bipartisan in the United States of of America — which I think everybody agrees is an important goal — you really need strong, outspoken pro-Israel Democrats," he asserted.
Indeed. A pity more such Democrats don’t win in safe Democrat districts.
"Tom and I have been friends for close to 30 years. He spoke to me about taking him to Israel in October after he declared his candidacy," Todd Richman, national co-chair of Democratic Majority for Israel, who arranged the trip, told The Times of Israel. "He is a true Zionist."
A pity they both can’t win.

‘I just want to see my mother again’: Palestinian-Americans beg for help getting family out of Gaza
Someone doesn’t understand how war works.
[IsraelTimes] Fadi Sckak has already lost his father to the violence in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
. He wants to help his mother escape that fate.

"I just want to see my mother again, that’s the goal," says Sckak, a university student in Sunnyvale, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,. The 25-year-old is one of the Paleostinian couple’s three American sons, including an active-duty US soldier serving in South Korea. "Being able to hold her again. I can’t bear to lose her."

His mother, Zahra Sckak, 44, is holed up with an older, ailing American relative in a Gaza City building along with 100 others. She is among what the State Department says are 300 American citizens, permanent legal residents or their parents and young children still trapped by the fighting between Israel and the Hamas
...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
terror group in Gaza.

Relatives in the United States and other advocates are pleading for the Biden administration and Congress to help them flee.

Fadi Sckak’s mother is on her sixth day with only water from the sewers to drink and with little or no food and rescue hopes waning, he says. His dad, Abedalla, was shot and maimed last month, after a bombing forced the family to flee the building where they had been sheltering, and died days later without treatment, he claims.

Their son listened over the phone as his mother begged for help after the shooting. He could hear his 56-year-old father, who had diabetes and corresponding health problems, in the background, crying out in pain.

"He didn’t deserve a painful experience like that. To die, with no help, no one even trying to help," Sckak says.

Some US citizens and legal residents and their immediate family are stranded near Gaza’s Rafah crossing into Egypt, desperately waiting for placement on a list of names provided by the US government that would authorize them to leave Gaza.

The State Department said yesterday that it has helped more than 1,300 people who were eligible for US assistance — American citizens, green-card holders and their immediate family members — make it through the Rafah crossing to Egypt. The department is tracking 300 more still seeking US help to escape; that includes what it says are fewer than 50 US citizens.

"US citizens and their families will make their own decisions and adjust their plans as this difficult situation changes," the department says in a statement.

Just reminder.

HAMAS launched its Murderous, Genocidal Terrorist attack against 1000s of NON-Combatants citizens solely based on Race & Religion.

Israel provided an evacuee window and path of safe exit, prior to its IDF S&D mission against HAMAS.

HAMAS publicly BLOCKED the Evacuees exit paths and routes.

Plus, many Palestinians CHOOSE to stay.

This now all falls on HAMAS' shoulders.

politician emerged as the main winners of Monday’s provincial elections in Iraq, according to official preliminary results.

The State of Law Coalition, led by former premier Nouri al-Maliki, gained most of the votes in Muthana province. It emerged second in Wasit, Najaf, Diwaniyah, Karbala, Maysan and Dhi Qar provinces and third in the oil-rich Basra as well as in the capital city of Baghdad, announced the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) in a presser on Tuesday.

The We Build Alliance, headed by Hadi al-Amiri, leader of the pro-Iran Badr Organization, performed extremely well in the polls. The alliance garnered most of the votes in Najaf, Diwaniyah, Babil, Maysan, and Dhi Qar province. It emerged as second in Basra and Baghdad provinces and third in Wasit, Karbala and Muthana provinces, according to the official preliminary results by the IHEC.

The IHEC announced that the results represented 94 percent of the counted votes.

Both Shiite alliances are among the main backers of Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani’s cabinet.

Maliki was the third winner of the 2021 parliamentary vote and Amiri was the fifth.

The main Shiite winner in the elections is the National State Forces Alliance which includes Ammar al-Hakim’s National Wisdom Movement and former prime minister Haider al-Abadi’s Victory Party.

The overall voter turnout reached 41 percent, higher than the parliamentary elections in 2021 despite the boycott by influential holy man Sadr.

The councils were dissolved in 2019 in response to demands by Tishreen protesters who criticized the system for its failures and for enabling corruption. After several delays, the election date was set for December 18.

Iraq's long-anticipated provincial elections took place in 15 provinces, excluding the Kurdistan Region. The last provincial council elections took place in 2013, without Kirkuk.

The provincial councils were created by the 2005 Iraqi constitution following the fall of dictator Saddam Hussein’s regime. They hold significant power, including setting budgets for several key sectors such as education, health, and transport, but are accused of being rife with corruption.

Biden In 45-Minute Phone Call With Israeli Prime Minister, Netanyahu Stops Planned War Against Hezbollah
[SAHARAREPORTERS] The United States President, Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....
, in a 45-minute call with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, convinced him to abort strikes on Hezbollah in Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
days after the October 7 terror attack on Israel by Hamas
...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
from Paleostine.

Daily Mail reports that sources familiar with the phone call said that President Biden urged Netanyahu to abort Israel's mission to strike against Hezbollah forces in Lebanon to prevent an all-out Middle East war.

It was reported that the pre-emptive strike was set to take place in the days after Hamas launched a terror attack at the Supernova music festival in Israel.

Israeli warplanes were in the air and ready to go when Biden spoke to Netanyahu on October 11.

Biden reportedly pleaded with Netanyahu to think about the consequences of the drastic action — and his convincing worked as Israel did not go ahead with the planned attack.

The phone call, which hadn't been reported until now, is said to have set a pattern for U.S. efforts to de-escalate conflict in the Middle East.

The Biden administration has been relentlessly trying to prevent expansion of the ongoing Israeli-Hamas war along Israel's Northern border with Lebanon.

Israeli forces engage in war fire with fighters from the Iran-backed Shiite turban group, Hezbollah and Paleostinian bully boyz along the border on a daily basis.

The White House's efforts to de-escalate the conflict in October included sending two aircraft carrier strike groups to the eastern Mediterranean, followed by a nuclear submarine.

Biden and his administration received a heads up about Israel's plan to launch a pre-emptive strike on the morning of October 11 - when Israeli forces urgently notified the White House that they thought Hezbollah was going to attack.

Daily Mail further reports that U.S. officials said that Israel begged for American support.

The Wall Street Journal was said to have reported that "Biden’s top intelligence, military and national security advisers—including CIA Director William Burns and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, Secretary of State Antony Blinken
...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm...
, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs CQ Brown - convened later that morning for a principal’s committee meeting to discuss Israel’s proposed plans and determined that U.S. intelligence didn’t correspond with Israel’s."

This is Hamas' intent - create a "zone of chaos" to enable recruiting...foreign fighters are supposed to rally to the green flag after the October 7th terror attack and Israel's reaction.

However, Hamas did not anticipate Israel making it so chaotic, and fatal, that the foreign fighters are afraid to or unable to rally...

So far your defense forces have done a good job sealing off Gaza so the foreign fighters can not get in...and as a result Hamas is on the verge of extermination.

. Would that stop the war in Gaza or not?" Musawi tells Lebanon’s al-Manar TV network.

"Their response was no, it would not stop it, the war in Gaza will not end, only with Israel’s victory inside Gaza," he says.

The border between Lebanon and Israel has seen escalating exchanges of fire since the Israel-Hamas war began on October 7, raising fears of a broader conflagration. Tens of thousands of Israelis have been evacuated from northern border towns, which have been repeatedly targeted by the Hezbollah terror group.

Since hostilities began in October, more than 140 people have been killed on the Lebanese side, most of them Hezbollah fighters, but also more than a dozen civilians, three of them journalists, according to an AFP tally.

On the Israeli side, four civilians and eight soldiers have been killed, according to officials.

Iran threatens to blockade the Mediterranean Sea due to US actions
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Continuation of criminal actions by the United States and its allies in the Middle East could lead to a blockade of the Mediterranean Sea. This was announced on December 23 by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naghdi .

“Yesterday the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz became a nightmare for them, and today the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea have trapped them, and with the continuation of these crimes, they will soon have to wait for the closure of the Mediterranean Sea,” Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying.

He added that if crimes continue, the United States and its allies will have to wait for the emergence of new resistance forces and the closure of other roads and routes.

As Regnum reported , on December 18, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced that the multinational Operation Guardian of Prosperity had begun to protect the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden amid Houthi attacks on merchant ships. The operation, he said, will be joined by Great Britain, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain.

In early December, the Houthis attacked the American warship USS Carney with missiles and drones in the Red Sea. According to UK-based maritime security company Ambrey, the cargo ship was damaged in a drone strike off the northern Yemeni port of Hodeidah. Off the coast of Yemen on December 14, the Houthis attacked a container ship of the Danish company Maersk in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, heading to Israel.
Colonel Cassad (Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin) adds:
It is important to note that according to Soleimani's strategy, Iran is not going to fight itself. He is going to fight against the United States and Israel with the help of his many proxies - Hezbollah, Hamas, Ansar Allah, Hashd-Shaabi, Kataib Hezbollah, etc. and so on. whom he will provide with specialists, money and modern weapons.

The task of Iranian proxies is to bite Iran's enemies and distract their attention, dragging them into the funnel of an endless and hopeless war, which increases hatred of the United States and Israel in the region and at the same time increases the authority and influence of Iran playing its chess game. The architect of this strategy, Qassem Soleimani, died almost 4 years ago - but his work lives on and wins, which once again demonstrates the extraordinary strategic genius of this outstanding man.

#3  From Wretchard T. Cat's Facebook page:

Privus Sapo
Iran acts like the Serbs in 1914. Writing checks for Russia (and now China) to cash.

What does India want? Maximum case Kashmir, but for that to happen the World must end. In reality, Pakistan defanged and the Chinese noose that has been tightening around India rolled back.

That means China out of the Indian Ocean, meaning out of Gwadar Sri Lanka and Djibouti. That aligns with the interests of almost everyone not a client of Russia and China. It even serves the interests of those in the Third World caught in the web of China's predatory Colonialist Imperialist Belt & Road debt peonage trap.

Iran has acted more than foolishly. They have acted as insanely and ignorantly as an American college student reciting narratives with no knowledge of history. By indiscriminately attacking with potentially deadly force Merchants making innocent passage they have put themselves in exactly the position of the Germans whose Unrestricted submarine warfare combined with the extraordinarily provocative Zimmerman Dispatch seeking to recruit Mexico into a war against America, which resembles many of the efforts of the Iranians and their sponsors in Moscow and Beijing, brought America into The Great War and doomed the Central Powers.
