Elizabeth Holmes Tried To Flee Country After Conviction, Prosecutors Say
[ZH, et al.] Disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes attempted to flee the United States after her January 2022 fraud conviction, prosecutors said in a new court filing.

Holmes was convicted on three felony counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Those charges sprang from her misleading of investors in the startup company's blood-testing technology. Her conviction capped her stunning downfall from darling of the media and powerful individuals to prison-bound felon.

In November, a federal judge sentenced Holmes to 11.25 years in prison, but she isn't behind bars yet. The judge ordered her to surrender herself to prison on April 27. The delay was meant to allow time for Holmes to deliver her second baby.

Now, her lawyers have asked the judge to let her remain free while her conviction appeal is adjudicated, and they also want him to ease restrictions on her travel.

Arguing against that request, government prosecutors told the judge that Holmes made "an attempt to flee the country shortly after she was convicted":

"The government became aware on January 23, 2022, that Defendant Holmes booked an international flight to Mexico departing on January 26, 2022, without a scheduled return trip. Only after the government raised this unauthorized flight with defense counsel was the trip canceled."

The government says her partner, William Evans, also bought a one-way ticket which he used on Jan 26, returning "approximately six weeks later...from a different continent."

Last January, Holmes' lawyer told prosecutors that she made the reservation before the verdict, intending to attend a friend's wedding. However, the verdict was handed down on Jan. 3 and prosecutors say the ticket was purchased Jan. 23.

Prosecutors noted that, beyond the suspicious ticket purchase, her flight risk is magnified by her continued access to significant financial resources:

"(Holmes) has lived on an estate for over a year where, based upon the monthly cash flow statement (Holmes) provided to the U.S. Probation Office, monthly expenses exceed $13,000," prosecutors wrote in the filing.
I'd even be cool with her and SBF sharing a prison cell so they can talk about their Dem connections, but I'm not so sure SBF even sees a court room.

Florida college football star, female accomplice busted for violent home invasion at luxury Orlando highrise
[NYPOST] A Florida college football player and a female accomplice have been arrested in connection with a violent mostly peaceful home invasion inside a luxury Orlando condo earlier this month, according to police.

Justin Hodges, a defensive back with the University of Central Florida, was one of several men who barged into a 28th-floor apartment with guns on Jan. 9, severely beat an occupant and robbed the residence before fleeing, officials said.

The Fort Lauderdale native has since been dismissed from the football team, according to Fox 35.

Orlando cops said Hodges is a friend of a female suspect in the case, Nevaeh Mosher, who once dated the victim.

Mosher, who was also arrested, allegedly gave Hodges instructions on entering the building before he and two other suspects carried out the home invasion robbery.

Those other two assailants remain on the lam.

The group — which was captured on surveillance video in the building — discarded some of their clothing on a lower floor in an attempt to evade detection, cops said.

One of the items, according to police, was a piece of clothing belonging to Hodges with the UCF insignia on it.

Hodges and Mosher were arrested Thursday morning and remain behind bars.

The gridiron star admitted being involved in the crime but minimized his role, telling detectives that he was hoping to retrieve some of Mosher’s belongings from inside the apartment.

The junior said a gun used in the assault belonged to his girlfriend, and that he gave the firearm to an accomplice to use during the heist.

Florida man shot in the back after being lured by woman into ambush with promise of ‘sexual favors’

Gracie

Joshua
A Florida woman has been arrested for luring a man into a violent mostly peaceful ambush after promising him "sexual favors," according to a report.
"Yes, anonymous internet babe! I've always dreamed of meeting someone like you!"
Gracie Lemke, 20, reached out to the unidentified victim on Facebook Messenger and pledged to perform sex acts on him this past weekend, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
"I've got Cheese Whiz just waiting, baby!"
The duped mark agreed to meet Lemke in nearby Adamsville and arrived by car, the Villages News reported.
"Don't forget yer wallet and watch!"
"Hmm... I wonder why she said that?"

As he exited his vehicle, Joshua Timmons, 24, suddenly appeared and held the man at bay, while Lemke and another accomplice, Lauren Locher, rummaged through his SUV for valuables, police said.
"My valuables! Grandma's brooch! The silverware! My polo racquet! The Ming vase!"
The victim then managed to wrestle himself away from Timmons and ran down the road, according to police.
"Feets, don't fail me now!"
Timmons is then said to have pulled out a gun
"Look out — he's got a gun!"
and shot him once in the back, with the bullet exiting out of his abdomen.
"Ow! Oh, spit! That really hurts!"
As he writhed on the road, the treacherous trio hopped in his 2008 Chevrolet Blazer and sped off towards a home where Timmons and Lemke were living.
"No one will ever know! Har har har!"
Cops soon arrived at the residence and spotted Timmons trying to burn his clothes in an attempt to destroy evidence from the ambush.
"Hey there, feller! Whatcha doin'?"
"Just burning my clothes, officer. Why do you ask?"

Davos Plans For The Next Pandemic - Suggests National Digital Infrastructures To Track Vaccination
[ZERO] The World Economic Forum's Davos discussions often require some "reading between the lines" to understand what is really being said by the globalist participants, but not much interpretation is needed these days. Ever since the pandemic event along with the lockdowns and the attempts to introduce vaccine passports, establishment representatives have been far more open about their agenda and their intentions for the future.

After all, it was Klaus Schwab that called covid a "rare but narrow window of opportunity" to implement the "Great Reset" of the current economic and political order. The past few years have shown that the Davos crowd still clings to the fading pandemic panic as the "good old days" when they could have had anything they wanted, including total centralization.

The globalists continue to refuse to address their many failures, but panels like the following say it all - They realize that the truth has hit the mainstream and far too many people are now questioning the validity of the restrictions, mandates, masks and the mRNA vaccines. All of these measures have proven to be mostly useless in preventing viral spread, and now the negative side effects of the vaccines are being admitted to, at least to a point. All in all, the pandemic was not the golden opportunity that Klaus Schwab and the WEF expected.

Their hopes and dreams now turn to a future pandemic, perhaps one with a far higher death rate that creates more exploitable public fear.

Abbott Labs under criminal investigation over baby formula shortage: Report
[FoxBusiness] The Justice Department is investigating conduct at the Abbott Laboratories infant-formula plant in Sturgis, Michigan

The Justice Department is investigating Abbott Laboratories' baby formula plant in Michigan, which was at the center of a nationwide formula shortage that plagued millions of families, the Wall Street Journal reports.

In May, Abbott reached an agreement with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reopen the company’s manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Michigan to help ease a nationwide shortage of baby formula, after the facility was closed due to bacterial contamination.

FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said Abbott, under the conditions of the agreement, would correct insanitary conditions that led to the contamination and plant closure.

"The DOJ has informed us of its investigation, and we’re cooperating fully," an Abbott spokesman told the Wall Street Journal.

The investigation signals further scrutiny of Abbott’s operation of the plant, a major source of baby formula in the U.S.

Last January, FDA inspectors found the cronobacter pathogen at the plant after receiving reports of babies who drank the company’s formula and became sick. The bacteria that was detected in the supply found let to at least four infant illnesses-including two deaths.

The inspectors also found standing water, damage to drying equipment and defects in the seams of formula cans, among other problems at the Sturgis plant.

In a 10-page report published in September, the FDA stated that conditions observed at the Abbott facility "were not consistent with a strong food safety culture."

Abbott temporarily halted production at the Sturgis factory in February, and recalled baby formula made at the plant.

The move sparked a national formula shortage which forced the U.S. to airlift millions of pounds of powdered formula from overseas.

Because Industry analysis' calculated: .. During that time (the shortage) , the United States exported an average of 33.5 million kilograms ($277.1 million) annually and imported an average 3.2 million kilograms ($13.4 million) ?

Did I read that read that right ?

Vox's sports sites hit hard as company lays off seven percent of workforce
[NYPOST] Sportswriters were hit hard by layoffs at Vox, which cut seven percent of its workforce — about 130 employees — on Friday.

"Unfortunately, in this economic climate, we’re not able to sustain projects and areas of the business that have not performed as anticipated, are less core to where we see the biggest opportunities in the coming years, or where we don’t have enough rationale to support ongoing investment in what could be a prolonged downturn," Vox CEO Jim Bankoff wrote a memo to employees. "In spite of the dedication of the many talented people involved in these initiatives, we need to scale back."

Throughout the day, a number of sportswriters announced their positions have been eliminated.

Nate Wilcox, the founding editor of the critically acclaimed MMA site Bloody Elbow, tweeted that he was laid off with "15 minutes notice."

"Well, to this point I’ve dodged the emails and calls but apparently my luck has run out. "I have been extraordinarily blessed to head the pod team @LakersSBN, a site I’ve helped grow into the monster it is today."

Google parent to lay off 12,000 workers
[NYPOST] Google’s parent company Alphabet announced that it will be laying off 12,000 workers — joining other tech giants like Microsoft and Amazon who said this week they would be handing out pink slips to a combined 28,000 people.

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai circulated a memo to staffers at the Mountain View, Calif.-based search engine indicating that the layoffs — which amount to 6% of the company’s global workforce of 150,000 Googlers — would be implemented immediately for workers in the company’s US offices.
"We suggest you use our search engine to look for a job elsewhere. Win-win!"
Google employees in other countries whose jobs are on the chopping block will undergo a more lengthy termination process "due to local laws and practices," according to Pichai.

Axed workers will receive 16 weeks of severance pay in addition to two weeks for each additional year of service at Google, the CEO said.

"This will mean saying goodbye to some incredibly talented people we worked hard to hire and have loved working with," Pichai wrote in his memo. "I’m deeply sorry for that."

Pichai added: "The fact that these changes will impact the lives of Googlers weighs heavily on me, and I take full responsibility for the decisions that led us here."

'Painful wait': Jeff Bezos visit to Washington Post stokes fears of layoffs

[NYPOST] Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos paid a rare visit to the newspaper’s offices and took part in an editorial staff meeting on Thursday — igniting panic among the publication’s journalists that layoffs were imminent.

Bezos surprised staffers on Thursday morning when he showed up to the newspaper’s headquarters on K Street in the nation’s capital just weeks after publisher Fred Ryan announced looming layoffs during a stormy, chaotic all-hands meeting.

The Amazon founder’s presence in the newsroom prompted one staffer, who was dressed in a red shirt emblazoned with the insignia of the newspaper guild, to accost the billionaire and ask him directly why management was planning to lay people off rather than offer buyouts, according to multiple reports.

Bezos declined to address the matter, only saying that he was there to listen, according to the news site.

"I’m convinced this is going to be a protracted, painful wait for a lot of people," a Washington Post journalist told the Daily Beast.

Crypto lender Genesis files for bankruptcy in latest blow to Barry Silbert's DCG empire
[CNBC] Crypto lender Genesis filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection late Thursday night in Manhattan federal court, the latest casualty in the industry contagion caused by the collapse of FTX and a crippling blow to a business once at the heart of Barry Silbert's Digital Currency Group.

The company listed over 100,000 creditors in a "mega" bankruptcy filing, with aggregate liabilities ranging from $1.2 billion to $11 billion dollars, according to bankruptcy documents.

Three separate petitions were filed for Genesis' holding companies. In a statement, the company noted that the companies were only involved in Genesis' crypto lending business. The company's derivatives and spot trading business will continue unhindered, as will Genesis Global Trading.

"We look forward to advancing our dialogue with DCG and our creditors' advisors as we seek to implement a path to maximize value and provide the best opportunity for our business to emerge well-positioned for the future," Genesis interim CEO Derar Islim said in a statement.

The filing follows months of speculation over whether Genesis would enter bankruptcy protection, and just days after the Securities and Exchange Commission filed suit against Genesis and its onetime partner, Gemini, over the unregistered offering and sale of securities.

Genesis listed a $765.9 million loan payable from Gemini in Thursday's bankruptcy filing. Other sizeable claims included a $78 million loan payable from Donut, a high-yield, decentralized platform, and a VanEck fund, with a $53.1 million loan payable.

Gemini co-founder Cameron Winklevoss initially responded to the news on Twitter, writing that Silbert and DCG "continue to refuse to offer creditors a fair deal."

"We have been preparing to take direct legal action against Barry, DCG, and others," he continued.
