At least 3 dead, 5 injured in shooting at Michigan State University
[Jpost] A gunman opened fire on Monday night at Michigan State University's main campus, killing three people and injuring five, some severely, before he was found dead hours later, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot, police said.

The 43-year-old gunman had no known affiliation to the university, and his motive remained a mystery, police said at an early morning news briefing more than five hours after the violence began on the East Lansing campus, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit.

Details about the sequence of events remained sketchy, but Chris Rozman, interim deputy chief of the university police, said shots were fired in two locations - an academic building called Berkey Hall and the Michigan State University (MSU) Union building.

Police responding to the shooting, which began shortly after 8 p.m. (0100 GMT), found victims at both locations, Rozman told reporters at a televised briefing about three hours later.

Rozman said investigators had no information about the motive. He also said the university was not aware of any threats made to the campus before Monday's bloodshed.

Rozman said three victims were killed and five were taken to hospital, some of them with life-threatening injuries. Two of the dead were at Berkey Hall and the other at the MSU Union.

Officials declined to provide any details about the victims, some of whose identities and relationships to the university were still being determined, Rozman said.

The name and other information about the suspect were not immediately released, and police said they remained baffled by what precipitated the shooting.

"We have no idea why he came to campus to do this tonight," Rozman told reporters.

The gunman was confirmed dead, from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot roughly four hours after the bloodshed had started, Rozman said.

"There is no longer a threat to campus. We believe there to be only one suspect in this incident," he said.

Rozman said the suspect "was contacted by law enforcement off campus" at some point, adding, "that scene is being investigated as a crime scene."

#5  From Skidmark’s Daily Mail link — the gentleman is probably a moderately functioning schizophrenic:

The gunman who killed three students and then himself at Michigan State University last night was arrested in 2019 for keeping a loaded gun in his car.

Anthony McRae, 43, opened fire on MSU campus at 8.18pm last night, shooting dead two kids at Berkey Hall before moving on to Union Hall, where he killed a third student.

His motive for the rampage remains unclear - he has no known ties to the school. Public records show McRae lived in Lansing with his father. His mother died last year.

It's unclear what he did for work, if anything. On social media, he ranted about God, frequently posting disturbing exorcist photos, selfies with crucifixes and bible verses. He also posted about schizophrenia and Satan.

Police have also said McRae was found with a note in his pocket indicating a threat to two public schools in Ewing, New Jersey, which were closed for the day 'out of an abundance of caution'.

WEF Substitutes 'Risk Management' for Total Progressive Control
[Epoch Times, January 31] The climate and social justice movement is seeking to rebrand itself from a progressive ideology to a prudent tool for risk management. This not only allows it to frame its bleak vision of the future as a safety measure; it also allows its corporate and Wall Street adherents to claim that they’re not pursuing a political agenda at shareholders’ expense but rather managing risk on their behalf.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) laid out the latest chapter of its crisis-management plan in its 2023 Global Risks Report. The report sketched out short-term risks under the heading "Today’s Crisis," and long-term threats described as "Tomorrow’s Catastrophe."
Both descriptors being, of course, entirely balanced and not at all biased. Q.E.D.
Topping the short-term list are the "energy supply crisis," the "cost of living crisis," and the "food supply crisis"; in the longer term, however, climate change is the apex threat.

Underscoring this narrative, former Vice President Al Gore told attendees that the accumulated amount of CO2 emissions in our atmosphere "is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released from 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth. That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers and the rain bombs and sucking the moisture out of the land."
You got some 'science' to back that up, Al?
Al don’t do science or math, though he has f’ing loved it since his Harvard days.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres echoed these remarks, declaring that the production of fossil fuels was "inconsistent with human survival."

WEF Founder Klaus Schwab spoke in more pedestrian terms but nonetheless declared that this is a moment of "unprecedented multiple crises." The WEF has designated 2023 as the "Year of the Polycrisis."

The Global Risks Report states that shortages of energy and food, and the consequent "cost of living crisis," are primarily the result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The solution, says the WEF, is accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to wind and solar and reaching "net zero" emissions on schedule, which will help resolve shortages, bring down inflation, and stabilize the climate. But some are skeptical.
No matter the crisis, just give your betters your money and the steering wheel and accelerator, then sit down and shut up.

FDA Announces Recall of Tens of Unapproved COVID Test Kits
[Epoch Times] A recall was issued for more than 56,000 COVID-19 rapid tests last week because they were not distributed with the proper clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), according to an announcement posted on its website.

Some 56,000 Skippack Medical Lab SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test Kits are being recalled by its maker, Universal Meditech Inc., because the "products were distributed without appropriate premarket clearance or approval which potentially could result in inaccurate test results due to lack of performance evaluation by the FDA," according to an FDA notice, dated Feb. 10.

People who have the Skippack Medical Lab SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Tests should stop using the device and contact the distributor for a return, according to the notice. The recalled products were made between October 2021 and December 2021 and were distributed in January 2022.
The horse departed a year ago, but the FDA is now closing the barn door.

#4  As a parent, it is a call I dread. Not as much as the other type but it's still a dread. Got a call when my son had a seizure and I was 10 minutes from home with dinner. Never wanted to kill everyone in sight and in my way so much in my life as I waited in traffic to get home. Obviously, I didn't and wouldn't do that but your kid being hurt or having a medical incident is NOT pleasant.

If you don't have kids, I don't think you can truly understand how....horrible having that switch in your brain thrown can be. Yes I'd be relieved that a wrist injury was the worst, but no injury bigger than minor cuts or scrapes is a pleasant experience for a parent. I can deal with being hurt, I know what it's like, how to deal with it. When it's your kid, in serious not-boo-boo pain, that helpless feeling is one of the most horrible I've ever felt.

#4  A number of years ago, a Union Pacific crew observes a bearing had burned off, so they stopped the coal train and called the dispatcher. Dispatcher says, "Stay where you are." Crew says, "But the melted axle is dripping burning hot metal on the long wooden trestle."

"Rules are rules", sez the Dispatcher, so the bridge burned to the ground and a dozen 100-ton coal cars fell into the gap, adding their cargo to the blaze.

No fluffy bunnies were known to be harmed by the incident.

Pilots Who Shot Down Object Over Alaska Say It ‘Interfered with Sensors' – Saw No Identifiable Propulsion
[GatewayPundit] The fighter jet employed an AIM-9X to take down the object.

Pilots gave differing reports on what they experienced and observed, according to a report by CNN.

Some pilots said the object interfered with their sensors.

Other pilots said they observed no identifiable propulsion and could not explain how the object was staying in the air.

CNN reported:

F-35 fighter jets were sent up to investigate after the object was first detected on Thursday, according to a US official. Kirby told reporters that the first fly-by of US fighter aircraft happened Thursday night, and the second happened Friday morning. Both brought back "limited" information about the object. But the pilots later gave differing reports of what they observed, the source briefed on the intelligence said.

Some pilots said the object "interfered with their sensors" on the planes, but not all pilots reported experiencing that.

Some pilots also claimed to have seen no identifiable propulsion on the object, and could not explain how it was staying in the air, despite the object cruising at an altitude of 40,000 feet.

The conflicting eyewitness accounts are partly why the Pentagon has been unable to fully explain what the object is, the source briefed on the matter said.

#2  My thoughts they are using R/C plane tech most likely ducted fans. I have seen model e jets break 200mph. Most of these motors are made in China, in fact one dealer ran an ad stated that his Lipo batteries were made by the same manufacturer that built batteries for torpedos used by the People's Liberation Army"s Navy.
Batteries and big enough solar array could power a balloons thrusters for a long time. Also by going slow you mihjt trick radar into thinking it's not an aircraft or missile so it must not be important so don't track it.

#1  Details are still a bit sparse, but this appears to be pretty much across the board. That is, you can't just point to one particular commodity or item and say that it is causing the spike.

Which means, still too much money chasing too few goods. The Fed's reckless injection of $3 trillion into the economy in 2020 is still harming us.

And I'd bet on a half percent increase on March 21.

#3  How much has the Ukraine war contributed to our inflation?

My guess is it is the other way around. It was our inflation (high oil prices) that emboldened the Russians to invade. Can't use the oil and gas weapon when prices are in the basement. Be sure to thank Joebama III at the polls.

Israeli protesters take to streets to blast Netanyahu 'judicial reforms' as PM calls for unity
[FoxNews] In what was considered to be one of the largest protests in Israel's history more than 80,000 people demonstrated against judicial reforms put forward by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government in Jerusalem on Monday. Other protests where also held across the country.

The demonstrators, marched and gathered outside the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, held flags and chanted "democracy" and "no to dictatorship" as Netanyahu's government formally launched a controversial plan to overhaul the country's judicial system.

According to the suggested plan, which was introduced mid-January, the ruling coalition will have control over the appointment of judges, including high court justices, and allow the Knesset to re-legislate laws the court annuls with a majority of a simple majority of 61 of the 120 Knesset members.

The government will also be able to appoint the president and vice president of the supreme court neither of whom needed to have previously served on the court and potentially not even served as a lower court judge. Justice Minister Yariv Levin has argued that the hight court has surpassed its authority in the last two decades and severely interfered with the ability of elected coalitions and ministers to enact government policies.

Netanyahu released a short video following Monday's mass demonstration where he called on the leaders of opposition to "Stop it. Stop deliberately deteriorating the country into anarchy. Take care of yourselves, and show responsibility and leadership. Most Israeli citizens do not want anarchy. They want a substantive discussion, and in the end, they want unity," he said.

Despite Herzog's plea the Knesset's constitution, law, and justice Committee, headed by MK Simcha Rothman, approved the second bill that would prevent the Supreme Court from overruling legislation amending one of Israel's semi-constitutional basic laws – effectively restricting the court's power of judicial review on core issues.

The vote now sends the legislation to the entire parliament for a series of votes. The step caused chaos in the committee, as opposition members who objected to the move shouted at Rothman 'shame' and were removed from the meeting.

#1  Frankly I'd love to see a law (or probably need a Constitutional amendment here) that our elected representatives--who, you know, actually have to face the people every so often--could nullify or override any court decision.

#2  This is exactly what we're going to do in India this year or the next. There has been a lot of globalist interfere through judicial activism and compromised judges, in domestic policies. Very sound decision. Fuck checks and balances and to hell with seperation of powers.

#4  People who think "democracy" is an unelected apparatchik thwarting the will of the electorate are in the dark about what the word means.

And, yeah, that's because they are being gaslighted.

90,000 or 300,000? Why estimates of crowd size at Jerusalem protest vary so widely
Figuring out just how many people came to the capital on Monday to protest the government’s judicial overhaul is both difficult technically and fraught with political bias
