One parallel that I find disturbing is his purge of the senior military command. I am concerned that this is the m.o. of Islamists once they take over a country, as a prerequisite to aggressive war.
This is based on the takeover of Iran, which also had a purge of its senior military command, many of whom were Zoroastrians.
Then, while officially Saddam's Iraq is thought of as the aggressor, in truth the Iranians had been vigorously trying to stimulate the Iraqi Shiites to overthrow Saddam, hoping to extend their revolution.
And with ideologues and fanatics leading their military, instead of US trained officers, the resultant butchery of Iranians was true to form. Despite their being no real change due to the war, Iranian killed outnumbered Iraqi dead by 3 to 1.
But it was done the Muslim way. And that is what worries me about Erdogan.

Somehow, I think, IDF will manage. Probably, won't even have to use WMD---maybe just threaten use privately to keep "World Community" from interfering.

This becomes more serious with the impending collapse of Egypt. A country that imports most of the food to feed its people and has systematically destroyed its means to earn hard currency is in death spiral. Hungry people make desperate mistakes.

That's why they call it a spoils system. There's an inherit problem when you're a member of a community that identifies with itself [us against everyone else] and you happen to be only 12 percent of the entire population. Re-segregating rather than integrating because you believed it would give your power doesn't always work out as planned, particularly when you have someone you can't play that victim card on.

95 might be a bit high but the number is in the 70s somewhere. The number of folks that think Obama is unqualified and corrupt. He's been ignoring them for some time. Glad to see Tavis is noticing.

Smiley says he understands that President Obama is taking the "political risk" looking "tribal" if he were to look out for the concerns of his race.
Can you imagine the shit storm if, say, a white guy said that?
He sounds like a bright and ambitious scoundrel, getting every possible freebie, and still trying to graft more, with "begging for sex", as it were, being a strong point.
He is masterful at manipulating liberals, and utterly devoid of ethics. Rather paradoxical.

The Democrats have been taking the Black vote for a ride for almost fifty years. SCLC and the NAACP have sold their constituencies down the river for a seat at the table of power.
The Blacks have been voting for "hope and change" since Kennedy and the result has been legislation designed to make them a captive constituency and completely fractured and dysfunctional. The destruction of the traditional Black family is almost complete. All of the upper middle class Black families I know are staunchly opposed to what is going on.
The guy that lives across the street from me with the Bentley Continental Coupe in his garage and the dozen Subway franchises would sooner play NFL football naked than wath Tavis Smiley on TV. He gets migraines when Obumble's name is mentioned.
