[PJ] Delivering the GOP rebuttal to President Obama's final State of the Union address Tuesday night, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley took veiled shots at both Donald Trump and Ferguson-style protesters in calling for inclusiveness and a lower volume of discourse.
Haley first panned Obama's presidency and record that "has often fallen far short of his soaring words" before noting that the GOP bears some responsibility for people's frustration with government.
"You've paid attention to what has been happening in Washington, and you're not naive. Neither am I. I see what you see, and many of your frustrations are my frustrations. A frustration with a government that has grown day after day, year after year, yet doesn't serve us any better. A frustration with the same endless conversations we hear over and over again. A frustration with promises made and never kept," Haley said.
"We need to be honest with each other and with ourselves. While Democrats in Washington bear much responsibility for the problems facing America today, they do not bear it alone. There is more than enough blame to go around."

Nearly eight years of total Obama regime failure and she targets our own trenches? Feckless, beltway party self-blame and mindless bloviating. Will the GOP never gain an understanding of the common man and his concerns for matters outside Washington? Rhetorical of course....

Yes, certainly true. My concern is the platform she used and the not so veiled references to Trump. Like many of us, he has his warts and the downward tenor of the 'reasoned discourse' cannot be debated. Fixating on blame is a very poor theme however. I'm concerned that they [D.C. pub establishment] may never get behind the obvious frontrunner.

It would seem that a bit of contrition from the GOP was long overdue. And it was absolutly neccessary they rebutted the Donald's foolish statements. Expect him to respond by questioning if Haley whitens her teeth or if they're even real.

Why? That's not the job of the GOP's responder to the State of the Union. She's supposed to be on *our* team. Our team might win with the Donald at the top of the ticket.

This is the DC elites trying to destroy Trump. She was directed to do this. I call her a Rhino or a puppet but she certainly can no longer be trusted. Like many other Republicans they find it easier to side with Democrats that to be with their own. Trump is not a club member.

In the end, Trump needs the establishment pubs to vote for him against the beast. Think big tent. Trump would benefit from minority votes to. Haley's is entitled to an opinion and she can help.
