Sikhs among most targeted for hate crimes in US: FBI statistics
File under things useful to know.

A total of 1,005 hate crimes related to religion were reported in 2021 in the US with Sikhs being the most targeted religious groups, according to statistics revealed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
).

Incidents related to religion comprised 14.2 per cent of incidents, the Hate Crime Statistics revealed.

The largest categories of religion-based crime included anti-Jewish incidents at 31.9 per cent followed by anti-Sikh incidents at 21.3 per cent.

While anti-Moslems accounted for 9.5 per cent of religion-based hate crimes, anti-Catholic incidents accounted for 6.1 per cent.

Overall, law enforcement agencies reported 7,262 total incidents and 9,024 victims, demonstrating that hate crimes remain a concern for communities across the country.

The overall number of agencies reporting decreased to 11,834, from 15,138 in 2021, so data cannot reliably be compared across years.

According to the 2021 data, 64.8 per cent of victims were targeted because of the offenders' bias toward race/ethnicity/ancestry, which continues to be the largest bias motivation category.

Anti-Black or African-American hate crimes continued to be the largest bias incident category, with 63.2 per cent of all single-bias incidents in 2021.

Additionally, anti-Asian incidents represented 4.3 per cent of incidents reported in 2021, the statistics revealed.

Together, incidents related to sexual orientation and gender identity represented 19.7 per cent of all single-bias cases reported in 2022.

In Case You Missed It: Biden Shoveled $36 Billion In Taxpayer Funds To Bail Out Teamsters For Mismanaged Pensions
[TheFederalist] ‘The largest private pension bailout in American history’ gave each beneficiary of the Central States Pension Fund nearly $100,000.
staying bought
Can Americans be bribed with their own money? The powers that be are certainly putting that question to the test. In recent years, we’ve seen inflation-inducing cash giveaways associated with “Covid relief.” We’ve seen the ongoing attempts at profoundly inequitable student loan forgiveness. In December, we saw a $1.7 trillion pork pie omnibus appropriations bill passed by a Congress that had no time to read it.

Lost in all of this has been one spectacular giveaway: $100,000 per beneficiary of the Central States Pension Fund (CSPF). The fund provides pension benefits to nearly 360,000 private-sector workers and retirees, mostly Teamsters Union members. U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, called the deal out in December, noting it was “the largest private pension bailout in American history” that benefited only “a tiny minority of workers.” He suggested it resulted from the insanity of “allowing those who mismanaged pensions to determine whether their funds qualify for taxpayer assistance with no safeguards.”

The $36 billion comes almost two years after the passage of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. That “rescue” was the Biden administration’s Covid spending bonanza. Biden signed it into law in the spring of 2021, when the economy was already well into recovery. The housing market was booming. The stock market was on a steady upward climb. It was obvious that the “rescue” would cause inflation. It was obvious Democrats were taking advantage of an opportunity to give away public largesse. And did they ever.

Lest we doubt the ongoing influence of the Teamsters in American politics, the recent $36 billion giveaway says it all. It says to the union bosses, who make up half of the CSPF board: “You can watch the pension fund’s health decline for decades. You can make unrealistic promises to employees. You can keep the plan below 75 percent funded. You can depend on a pyramid concept where imaginary new members keep coming in to pay for retired members. None of that matters now. The politicians you own will bail you out with the public’s money. In fact, you can take such largesse that union workers in other multi-employer plans get left with only crumbs. Write yourself a check. And, as a bonus, we won’t ask you to change anything.”

Workers of the world are not united here. This is a cash grab benefiting one group of roughly 360,000 (3 percent) of the 11 million participants in the multi-employer plans.

And Covid, schmovid. Even before the panic and the lockdowns, the Congressional Research Service reported that the multi-employer pensions were underfunded by $650 billion. In 2018, CSPF had been projected to reach insolvency by 2025.

Victor Davis Hanson: The Ukraine War's Prelude To What?
[ZERO] The Ukraine battlefield is proving a similar laboratory of death. New lethal weaponry and tactics are introduced, modified—and always improved—from drones to guided missiles to internet-fed artillery.

Likewise, a similar pre-global war lineup of the eventual adversaries is emerging in preview of a much larger, much scarier war to come.

The first mission of Ukraine, the aggrieved victim of a peremptory Russian attack, was simple survival.

But now that it has been armed to the teeth and its soldiers proved far more capable and heroic than Putin’s once-feared Russia, Kyiv now seeks to push back Russians to their 2014 Ukrainian acquired borders.

Next President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that the third stage will be to eject every Russian from 2013 Ukraine. He promises to reabsorb both the Crimea and the Donbas.

That is an ambitious goal that might require preemptive attacks inside Russia and on the Black Sea.

To accomplish the last two missions, Zelenskyy needs a blank check of support from a United States that can neither control its own borders nor maintain its critical infrastructure and is $33 trillion in debt.

Americans are not only to supply the money and arms to fuel Zelenskyy’s counteroffensives, but to sign onto a dangerous anti-Russian agenda that is not necessarily synonymous with one that is in the best interests of the United States.

Cyber
Bokhari: Machine Learning Fairness – A Globalist-Funded Effort to Control AI
[Breitbart] As eerily human-like AI chatbots exploded into the public consciousness, so too have highly publicized examples of their political bias. Why do AI programs, Microsoft-funded ChatGPT in particular, seem to think like radical Democrat activists? The answer may lie in a obscure academic field that is rapidly rising in prominence. Its name is Machine Learning Fairness, and it is to computer science what critical race theory is to the rest of academia.

The field of machine learning (ML) fairness, much like the vast empire of “disinformation” studies that emerged after 2016, exists for a single purpose: to guarantee the technology of the future upholds leftist narratives. It is an attempt by left-wing academics to merge the field of machine learning, which deals with the creation and training of AI systems, with familiar leftist fields: feminism, gender studies, and critical race theory.

The most vocal proponents of ML fairness use a rhetorical motte-and-bailey strategy to advance their cause. Often, they will lead their presentations with examples of AI errors that seem reasonable to correct, like facial recognition software failing to recognize darker skin tones. Crucially, they do not present these as simple problems of inaccuracy, but problems of unfairness.

This is on purpose — lurking behind these inoffensive examples are much more dubious goals, that actually push AI to make inaccurate conclusions, and ignore certain types of data, in the name of “fairness.” And their work doesn’t result in dry academic papers — it results in the documented leftist bias of consumer-level programs like ChatGPT, a bias the corporate media is actively defending.

If you haven’t been paying close attention to the rise of ChatGPT and Microsoft’s chatbot built on the same technology, here is what’s been going on:

  • Microsoft’s Bing Chatbot built with ChatGPT technology fantasizes about engineering viruses and stealing nuclear codes.

  • When it isn’t planning to end the world, Microsoft’s AI gaslights humans, calling a user “delusional” for saying it is 2023 not 2022.

  • ChatGPT wrote a gushing poem about the brilliance of Joe Biden, but refused to do the same about Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis.

  • Sam Altman, the CEO of ChatGPT developer OpenAI, hopes that AI can “break capitalism.”

  • Students in elite high school programs and at universities are using chatGPT to cheat on essays.

One prominent research organization, the AI Now Institute, says its goal is to ensure AI remains “sensitive and responsive to the people who bear the highest risk of bias, error, or exploitation.” Another group, the Algorithmic Justice League, warns that AI can “perpetuate racism, sexism, ableism, and other harmful forms of discrimination.”

As you may have guessed, the terms “bias,” “fairness,” and “ethical” are all highly subjective when used by the proponents of ML fairness.

AIs operate on the basis of inputs and outputs, and ML fairness advocates tend to be concerned with the latter. If an AI produces an output that unequally impacts a protected group, ML fairness holds that the AI in question must be biased or unfair — regardless of how impartially it considered the inputs. If you understand the left’s preoccupation with equality of outcomes, then you understand the goals of ML fairness.

“We have used tools of computational creation to unlock immense wealth,” says Algorithmic Justice founder Joy Buolamwini. “We now have the opportunity to unlock even greater equality if we make social change a priority and not an afterthought.”

Three Huge Reasons Why Electric Vehicles Will Never Dominate American Roads
[PJ] Here’s the most important fact about plug-in electric vehicles (EV), courtesy of the liberal content-creators at Wikipedia in the opening sentence of their post on "Government Incentives for Plug-in Electric Vehicles:"

Such incentives "have been established around the world to support policy-driven adoption of plug-in electric vehicles. These incentives mainly take the form of purchase rebates, tax exemptions and tax credits, and additional perks that range from access to bus lanes to waivers on fees (charging, parking, tolls, etc.)." [Emphasis added]

The campaign by the Western elite in the U.S. and Europe to force everybody else to stop driving cars and trucks powered by fossil-fueled internal combustion engines and adopt EVs instead is a product of the elite’s policy choices, not ours.
