Blinded by love, hapless man stabbed in (other) eye by feisty girlfriend... again

#1  "The next morning they had another argument in which she grabbed a chopstick and stabbed Kwok's right eye," it said.

"Here, try one of the pot stickers eye stickers."

This reminds me very little of a favorite warning sign in optics labortories:

CAUTION
DO NOT STARE INTO LASER
WITH REMAINING EYE

#3  "Love sacrifice.........Iff I forgive her, God will not forgive me". Like a true Madonna fan, his prob is wilfully giving up his already God-reserved place in heaven, in order to help people which not even hell will want??? EVENTS AFTER 12/8th of a certain yarn > WORLD'S ASS BELONGS TO GOD AND GABRIEL, aka DAD'S BIG WHUPPIN' BELT.

-Obits-
Nobody does obituaries like the British press
The Daily Telegraph

Count Gottfried von Bismarck, who was found dead on Monday aged 44, was a louche German aristocrat with a multi-faceted history as a pleasure-seeking heroin addict, hell-raising alcoholic, flamboyant waster and a reckless and extravagant host of homosexual orgies. The great-great-grandson of Prince Otto, Germany's Iron Chancellor and architect of the modern German state, the young von Bismarck showed early promise as a brilliant scholar, but led an exotic life of gilded aimlessness that attracted the attention of the gossip columns from the moment he arrived in Oxford in 1983 and hosted a dinner at which the severed heads of two pigs were placed at either end of the table. When not clad in the lederhosen of his homeland, he cultivated an air of sophisticated complexity by appearing in women's clothes, set off by lipstick and fishnet stockings.

An air of sophisticated complexity? Only if practicing for a successful escape from a surrounded madrassah clad only in a burqa and high heels.

#2  What's funny is that if he hadn't been from the rich & famous crowd, he would just have been a asocial drunkard/junkie, going from one gloryhole to the other in public lavatories and giving BJ to truckers on highways resting area. That would have been quite sleazy and sordid, but since he was a count and all, well, it's different, you know.

I don't think "fashion" was involved in the "tips" that Elton got.

AlGore and The Sopranos
Who knew that tree-hugging ex-politicians loved “The Sopranos”? It turns out that Al Gore is a die-hard fan, but when the series finale loomed in early June, he and his wife, Tipper, had to be on a plane for an appearance in Istanbul.

So Mr. Gore, now better known as the star of “An Inconvenient Truth” than as the former vice president of the United States, called Brad Grey, the chairman of Paramount whose studio distributed his documentary, for a favor. Mr. Grey is also an executive producer of “The Sopranos,” from his previous incarnation as a Hollywood manager. Could Mr. Gore get an advance copy of the final episode, he wanted to know?

No way, said Mr. Grey. “I’ve turned down everyone who’s asked,” he recalled telling Mr. Gore. That episode was the holy grail, and he couldn’t risk it being leaked.

But after a night of tossing and turning, Mr. Grey found a horse's head in his bed had a change of heart. On the Sunday of the finale, he had a Halliburton-made steel case, containing a copy of the episode, delivered to the tarmac where Mr. Gore’s plane sat in Chicago.
"My God! Halliurton's into everything!"
The case was locked with a code (some might call it a “lockbox”). Mr. Gore could not open it until the plane was in the air, when he was instructed to call Mr. Grey’s office for the numeric code. Mr. Gore sent Mr. Grey a photo of himself trying to pry open the case, which Mr. Grey now keeps on his desk.

Spain: Nearly-nude protest held for animal rights
Hundreds of animal rights activists, many wearing red scarves and plastic horns, bared almost all in a march through the streets of Pamplona on Thursday to protest the annual running of bulls fiesta. Chanting such slogans as "Torture isn't culture," and "Bulls yes! Bullfighters no!" the protesters attracted the attention of a couple of hundred curious onlookers. Although it is billed as a nude protest, Peta supporters have begun to wear more clothes, so as not to upset the animals some locals or attract too much unwanted attention.

Belgian Jos Bruynoogha, 55, said the number of topless women definitely made being passionate about animal rights more attractive. "I like the animals, but I like the honkers people, too," he said.

#1  The problem with nude protests is that there are two kinds of people in the world:
1. people who look good without clothes on, and
2. people who need to keep covered up.
To be brutally direct, the ones in the second category seem to be doing all the nude protesting.
Posted by: Mike || 07/06/2007 9:18 Comments || Top||

#2  Mike,

I think the percentage of people who look good nude is below 1% of the total population. If you live some place like Santa Monica you may have a skewed sense of the actual distribution.

25 killed in explosion at Tianying Karaoke Hall and Bath House
Birthday revellers and students celebrating the end of exams were among 25 people killed in a powerful explosion that destroyed a whorehouse karaoke bar in northeast China, state media and witnesses said on Thursday. The blast occurred in a coal-mining town of 40,000 people in Liaoning province on Wednesday night, destroying the two-storey entertainment venue and damaging nearby buildings, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

There was no immediate reason given for the blast at the Tianying Karaoke Hall and Bath House.
There was no immediate reason given for the blast at the Tianying Karaoke Hall Explosives Storage Facility and Bath House in Tianshifu town. Local police and government officials contacted by AFP said they had no information on the cause. The venue’s owner was among those killed, while 33 other people were injured, four of them seriously, according to Xinhua, which cited local authorities. Many of the victims were students celebrating after examinations, witnesses said.

“Some of the victims were teenagers around 18 to 19, including one of my friends, who died. I’m very sad,” a local high school girl told AFP by phone. She declined to provide her name, saying she was too distraught. A man who gave only his surname, Quan, and who went to the site after the disaster also said students were among the victims of the blast at the privately run venue. “There was a very loud noise and all the windows near the site were shattered,” Quan told AFP. The karaoke bar also housed a restaurant where guests were celebrating a birthday, according to Xinhua, giving no other details about the party.

#4  An the immediate reason was......

Mr Hau was a successful local businessman, who many residents of Tianshifu say stored explosives used in his mines in the basement of the Tianying Karaoke Hall and Bath House, the Beijing News reported.

Yep..That would explain it.
