Man arrested after saying he was a CIA employee
LOMA LINDA - Following a routine traffic stop, San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies arrested a man who tried to pass himself off as an employee of the CIA.

According to reports, at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, sheriff's deputy Larry Falce, assigned to Sheriff's Central Station, conducted a routine traffic stop on a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta for a defective tail light. During the stop, Falce noticed a Department of Defense parking sticker affixed to the windshield. Falce talked with the driver of the vehicle, Federico Mucio, who identified himself as an employee of the CIA. Mucio, 45, was able to supply a CIA identification card to Falce.

During the investigation Falce located license plates from Texas, Maryland, Nevada, Arizona and California and a U.S. government license plate, a total of 12 license plates. After conducting a records check on the license plates it was found the U.S. government license plate had been reported stolen. Several of the license plates had false registration tabs affixed to them.

Oldest U.S. WWI Vet Dies in Ohio at 109
J. Russell Coffey, the oldest known surviving U.S. veteran of World War I, has died. The retired teacher, one of only three U.S. veterans from the "war to end all wars," was 109.

Coffey died Thursday at the Briar Hill Health Campus in North Baltimore, where he had lived for the past four or five years, said Gaye Boggs, nursing director at the nursing home. No cause of death has been determined, she said Friday. His health began failing in October.

"We're sure going to miss him," Boggs said. "He was our most famous resident, that's for sure."

#1  Years ago I knew a man with a similar story, being inducted about one month before the war ended. He had been scheduled to attend the officer's course for artillery balloon reconnaissance.

His great memory from basic training was how very mean his drill sergeant was. A man he later helped hold down during his death spasms of Spanish influenza.

Seven 'medical myths' exposed as untrue
Some claim drinking eight glasses of water a day leads to good health, while reading in dim light damages eyesight. Others believe we only use 10% of our brains or that shaving legs causes hair to grow back thicker. But a review of evidence by US researchers surrounding seven commonly-hold beliefs suggests they are actually "medical myths".

Some are utterly untrue, while others have no evidential proof, the British Medical Journal reports. Researchers from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis hunted medical literature for evidence on each claim.
They found no evidence supporting the need to drink eight glasses of water a day. In fact, studies suggest that adequate fluid intake is often met by drinking juice, milk, and even caffeine-rich tea and coffee. Data also suggests drinking excessive amounts of water can be dangerous.

#4  I've noticed that there seems to be a kind of reflectivity to the ring of fire, that is, when a big earthquake happens on one side, it can behave like a trigger to another part of the ring, after a short delay. For example, just a short time ago, there was an big earthquake in the Aleutian islands.

Trouble is that there is so much activity on the ring, that it is hard to tell.

Soldier Missing in Action From Korean War is Identified (Cpl. Robert S. Ferrell, U.S. Army,)
The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office announced today that the remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing in action from the Korean War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors. He is Cpl. Robert S. Ferrell, U.S. Army, of Dallas, Texas. His burial date is being set by his family.

Representatives from the Army met with Ferrell’s next-of-kin to explain the recovery and identification process, and to coordinate interment with military honors on behalf of the secretary of the Army.

On Feb. 12, 1951, Ferrell was assigned to Battery A, 503rd Field Artillery Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, then occupying a position about 70 miles east of Seoul, South Korea. The 503rd was providing artillery support for friendly units coming under heavy attack by Chinese Communist Forces. In danger of being overrun, the 503rd was forced to withdraw to the south. Records indicate that Ferrell was captured near Hoengsong, South Korea, during the fighting. He later died in captivity at the Suan Mining POW camp located about 40 miles southeast of Pyongyang, North Korea.

CDP behind rally opposing Muslim school in rural Australia
The Christian Democratic Party is behind a mysterious group called the Committee for Public Affairs Education that organised a large meeting this week to protest against a proposed 1200-student Muslim school in Camden.

In the guise of a local residents' action group, the CDP organised the meeting, which has been accused of inflaming anti-Muslim feeling. The CDP leader, the Reverend Fred Nile, and Robert Balzola, a Christian lawyer and lobbyist, were key speakers on the night. Police had to calm about 100 people outside Camden Civic Centre who could not get into the packed hall, some of whom issued threats against people of Muslim heritage.

Mr Nile told the crowd he opposed the school because Islam opposed Christianity. Mr Nile and one of the meeting organisers, Colin Broadbridge, a CDP member who lives in Campbelltown, denied that the party had staged the meeting. But the state MP Charlie Lynn, who was also invited to speak, said he had been approached two weeks ago by the CDP and asked to attend.

"...I don't think he realises the Crusades were over a long time ago. Yeah, and the Jihad continues
He was talking nonsense about Muslims being anti-Christian … that is absurd. What about anti-Jewish? Jesus was Jewish, therefore..
I am very disappointed in Nile." I am a little disappointed in the land around the Nile myself. What used to be a breadbasket is buying grain from halfway around the world from infidel! farmers. Personally, I would like to see every stray cat in the area rounded up and dropped off at this proposed site, throw a bunch of pork chops out there for them to eat, you know to be humanitarian and all ;)

#4  Mr Nile told the crowd he opposed the school because Islam opposed Christianity

Someone gets it.

"This is their only school. and they are stretched to raise money to do this," Mr Bingham said. "I think Fred is a little out of date. I don't think he realises the Crusades were over a long time ago. He was talking nonsense about Muslims being anti-Christian … that is absurd

And someone sure the hell doesn't. Morons like this will be the death of the West. Have this jerkwad Bingham go live in Saudi Arabia for awhile and then get back to us.

Salt Lake shopping center evacuated after bomb scare
The Trolley Square shopping center was evacuated about 9 p.m. Thursday after a cell phone caller told Salt Lake police dispatchers a bomb had been planted in the area. The caller spoke of Jihad and furthering a holy war, said Salt Lake Police Lt. LaMar Ewell.

Mall authorities closed and evacuated the shopping center, and police asked shop owners to search their shops. Police also searched common areas for unusual circumstances, Ewell said. By 10 p.m., no bomb had been found and there had been no explosion. Shop owners were allowed back into the mall to properly close down their stores, Ewell said.

Olde Tyme Religion
Farmers warned not to sell lambs to Muslims who want them for religious sacrifice
Environmental health chiefs are warning farmers against the illicit practice after one was approached by a group of Muslims wanting to ritually sacrifice 40 lambs.
PETA?
The men approached farmer Alan Davies asking to buy and illicitly kill lambs on his land as part of the Eid celebrations which start today.
Sounds like Islam, wake up and kill something
Mr Davies, 58, of Pinfold Farm, Ribchester, Lancs, alerted health officers after men came knocking at his door on two separate occasions. Environmental health chiefs across East Lancashire have since sent out hundreds of letters to farms asking for people to remain vigilant and launched an operation aimed at cracking down on the "inhumane practice."

The slaughter of animals has always been part of Eid celebrations but there is an increasing trend for people to want to carry out the slaughter themselves rather than leave it to an expert.
Great work of an unemployed jihadist, problem is they typically blow themselves and the animals up
Mr Davies, who has a sign outside his Preston Road farm saying "Lambs For Sale" said he was disgusted when he was approached by the men.
Anyone with towels on their heads would scary a farmer, can't blame them, not typical field gear
He said: "Two Asian men and a woman pulled up in a black cab and asked my wife Anne about the lambs for sale. They said they wanted between 30 to 40 lambs that they could slaughter on our land."
Louder, PETA!
Eamonn Roberts, a senior environmental health officer for Ribble Valley Council, said: "Trained slaughtermen use very sharp knives but in the cases where it is being done illegally we have no way of knowing how the animals are being killed. They could be using blunt knives causing distress to the animals."
PETA, hello you kitten killers!? Oh never mind
Sacrificing an animal, usually a sheep, is a religious practice performed at Eid-ul-Adha.

It commemorates the time when the Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his son for Allah.

Lancashire Council of Mosques chairman Hamid Quershi condemned the illegal slaughters and said letters would be issued in mosques warning people.
And the warning will have what affect?

Photos, graphic but PETA approved

#1  how many eids a year are there? do they look up and see a full moon and think 'gee time for me to go slaughter something'? And by the way, an angel interrupted Abraham before killing his son or was that part left out of the plagerism. so, yeah, your ritual is blasphomous. Go do something about it. I guess as the lustice troll pointed out God is different than allah (wait, infidels can't write that word! Yea, Fu@k off and watch me type - the farmers out here do not tremble at such things nor do I).

BTW check the photo link - what is going on in picture 6!? Oh my goodness, naughty naughty thing showing too much hoof.

#2  I think "eid" means "feast" or "holiday." Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan. I think Eid al-Adha marks the Profit's mirculous cure of the clap.

#4  Muslims just can't get their Koran right. Genesis says that Abraham (not Ibraham) slaughtered a goat (not a lamb) that he found/provided by God (not purchased) with its horns tangled in briars nearby the altar on a mount, not on a farm.

#6  I thought it was a ram. But at any rate, prayer services were intended as a substitute for animal sacrifices. On the other hand, it was my understanding that there is a difference between a sacrifice offering and slaughter for consumption... but I'm not exactly an expert on the subject.
