-Lurid Crime Tales-
Tough night in Key West
See. It really could've been worse, Client #9...
This is one way you don't want anyone to find you: In an abandoned building bound with pantyhose and gagged, wearing women's intimate clothing and with a foam ball in your mouth.
Yep. Sounds like Ye Olde Quinella of Degradation...
But that happened Saturday at 1 a.m. in Key West when police responded to a call of a “suspicious incident” at an abandoned Staples Avenue house from a nearby resident. A report says that upon arrival, police found the 32-year-old man tied to a chair. They untied the panty hose around his head that was being used to keep the foam ball firmly in his mouth, and his hands and legs were unrestrained by rescue personnel. Once the man, who a report says was “falsely imprisoned,” was able to talk, he said he wasn't hurt.
...and tell my wife not to pay the ransom!!!
Police say he told them he met a man in his mid-40s earlier in the evening outside the Bull and Whistle bar on Duval Street who asked him if he wanted to “fool around.” He consented, according to a police report.
Ooooooops...that'll teach ya.
The pair went to the abandoned building and “engaged in sexual acts on top of a blanket.” But the suspect started telling the victim to do things he didn't want, police reported. The victim didn't provide police details.
Nothing sez "romance" like sexual acts on a blanket in an abandoned building...
The man who did the tying up, reportedly against the victim's will, left. Police found the bound man half an hour later.
I'll be back, sweetie. Don't go away...
They indicate they found a sex toy, a Kleenex with lipstick, stockings, a bra, two tennis balls, black shoes, Duracell batteries and a black flashlight at the scene.
Hmmmmmmm...sounds like MacGyver's in town...

Spitzer Steps Down
Charlie Rangel protege lieutenant governor to take over.
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer said on Wednesday that he will resign effective Monday after allegedly spending thousands of dollars on meetings with prostitutes.
So did he cut a deal with the U.S. Attorney? Does it include a felony conviction?
"I look at my time as governor with a sense of what might have been," Spitzer said, with his expressionless wife Silda standing at his side. "There is much more to be done, and I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people's work."

His wife took deep breaths as hundreds of photos were taken at close range. Each of Spitzer's words was accompanied by a rush of camera clicks.
Eliot Spitzer deserves to be flogged for what he's done to Silda, making her stand there beside him.

And Silda needs to have her head examined for doing so. If I had done anything remotely similar to this you'd be reading about me in a missing persons report.
Lt. Gov. David Paterson, slated to take Spitzer's place, requested that the resignation would go into effect next week in order to have more time to put a transition team in place. Paterson will become the governor of New York when he is publicly sworn in on Monday. Paterson will become just the eighth black governor in American history, the first in New York.

If reporters had any brains at all they'd immediately track down Geraldine Ferraro and get her thoughts on this guy, who I doubt half the people in the state have even heard of.

Did he also resign from his superdelegateship? He would be a great sideshow at the Democratic Circus Convention.

#9  I seriously don't get Silda.

She's a Harvard trained lawyer and supposedly a very smart woman. She's been practicing law and could, if needed, have a full time job tomorrow to help pay the rent and take care of the kids.

And yet she puts up with public humiliation.

I guarantee you that if I did an 'Eliot', the only place you'd be reading about me would be on milk cartons.

And if by some chance my wife let me live, she wouldn't be standing by my side at a press conference, she'd be home burning my stuff and shredding my clothing.

So I sure hope some of the Rantburg women citizens will explain Silda to me, because I seriously don't get it.

NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer Resigns
NEW YORK (AP) - Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in disgrace Wednesday after getting caught in a call-girl scandal that shattered his corruption-fighting, straight-arrow image, saying: "I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people's work."
Spitzer will be replaced by Lt. Gov. David Paterson, who becomes New York's first black governor, effective Monday. Spitzer's minute-long statement made no mention of whether he had reached a deal with federal prosecutors to avoid charges.

"I go forward with the belief as others have said that as human beings our greatest glory consists not in never falling but in rising every time we fall," Spitzer said at a Manhattan news conference with his wife, Silda, at his side. He left without answering questions.

The scandal erupted Monday when allegations surfaced that the 48-year- old Spitzer spent thousands of dollars on a call girl at a swanky Washington hotel on the night before Valentine's Day.
Valentine's day is so romantic. Who can blame him, really?
Spitzer was more composed than he was earlier in the week, when he apologized for an undisclosed personal failing and looked pale, drawn and glassy-eyed. His wife took deep breaths as hundreds of photos were taken at close range. Each of Spitzer's words was accompanied by a rush of camera clicks.

Degenerate found guilty of molestation; blames fatigue, victims
David Schoor said he molested three young girls because he was working too many hours and his victims compelled him to do it.

Schoor took the stand in the punishment phase of his aggravated sexual assault trial after pleading guilty to the jury on Monday. "I just didn't know what I was doing," Schoor said when asked why he assaulted the girls. "I was tired and stressed out a lot from where I was working."
I think he knew exactly what he was doing, and why ...
Schoor pleaded guilty to assaulting one of the girls, but prosecutors presented evidence he molested three girls, ages 4, 6 and 8.

"So you being tired made you sexually attracted to these little girls?" asked Scott Morris, assistant Lubbock County criminal district attorney.
Personally, I get an irresistable urge to whip up a lynch mob when I am tired, and I am really tired of these degenerates wasting my oxygen.
Schoor said no and that he just "rubbed her on the wrong spot."
He needs to be rubbed on the "wrong spot," with a running chain-saw.
He then blamed the girls for his behavior. "They kept pushing me to do it," he said.
His new cellmate, Bubba, will be a lot more persuasive than 3 little girls.
For that comment alone he never gets out of prison.
Where would he get the lame notion that these insane excuses might work? Read on:
Schoor's father, Randy Schoor, took the stand in his son's defense. Randy Schoor said he does not consider the five felony counts to which his son pleaded guilty to be criminal acts. "Criminal is when you kill somebody," he said, adding that aggravated sexual assault of three little girls is not criminal.
Good, then he will have no complaints when Bubba introduces himself to the younger Schoor.
Jurors will decide Schoor's punishment after arguments resume today.
The nut doesn't fall far from the tree. We need to keep an eye on Randy. Personally, I would like to keep a hob-nailed boot on his neck for raising a POS like David, but I am not a duly constituted court (a fact for which he should thank whatever god/gods/demons he might happen to worship.)

The body of a 62-year-old man has been found with an arrow in its chest on a street in Los Angeles.

Police responding to calls on Tuesday about a traffic accident victim "found that the victim on the street had died from an arrow in his chest", Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Maribel Rizo said.

The victim was identified as Angel Martinez, whom some locals often saw in the neighbourhood.

Police have made no arrests.

Spitzer May Have Spent Tens of Thousands
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — With pressure mounting on Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign over a call-girl scandal, investigators said Tuesday he was clearly a repeat customer who spent tens of thousands of dollars — perhaps as much as $80,000 — with the high-priced prostitution service over an extended period of time.
Kristen is a lucky girl, huh? Next thing you know we'll be reading about how he took her on trips ...
Spitzer and his family, meanwhile, remained secluded in their Fifth Avenue apartment, while Republicans began talking impeachment, and few if any fellow Democrats came forward to defend him. A death watch of sorts began at the state Capitol, where whispers of "What have you heard?" echoed through nearly every hallway of the ornate, 109-year-old building.

On Monday, when the scandal broke, prosecutors said in court papers that Spitzer had been caught on a wiretap spending $4,300 with the Emperors Club VIP call-girl service, with some of the money going toward a night with a prostitute named Kristen, and the rest as credit toward future trysts. The papers also suggested that Spitzer had done this before.

Speaking of condition of anonymity, a law enforcement official said Tuesday that Spitzer, in fact, had spent tens of thousands of dollars with the Emperors Club. Another official said the amount could be as high as $80,000. But it was not clear over what period of time that was spent.
Going back to when he was state attorney general. Here's the number one law enforcement officer in the state cavorting with a lovely lass who's working for an 'agency' that's almost certainly mobbed up. Wonder what the Mob got in return for Kristen's favors?
emocrats privately floated another option, telling The Associated Press that Spitzer was considering what was almost unthinkable immediately after Monday's bombshell apology: hanging on. "If the public is fine, he'll stay," said a Democrat who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.
Let him. Let him be the butt of jokes. Let people openly scoff and scorn him. It's better than impeachment. Let everyone blame him when his party tanks in the state elections.
Many in the financial industry had long complained that the man known as "Mr. Clean" and the "Sheriff of Wall Street" was abusive and insulting, that he went after them with holier-than-thou zeal, and that he was just trying to make headlines and advance his political career. "The irony and the hypocrisy is almost too good to be true," said Bryn Dolan, a fundraiser who works with many Wall Street employees. "If he had any shame, he would've already resigned."
We've already established the level of shame he has.

#17  According to the Daily News, they may have figured out who Client #6 is...

The richest man in Great Britain was a customer of the same high-end prostitution service patronized by Gov. Spitzer.

The Duke of Westminster, listed as the world's 46th richest person by Forbes magazine, hired four hookers over a six-week stretch in late 2006 and early last year, the News of the World reported last year.

Despite his incredible wealth, multi-billionaire Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor haggled with one of the Emperors Club girls for the cost of their date, according to the report.

Prostitute Zana Brazdek, then 26, described the 56-year-old Grosvenor as dull and demanding. "I thought his conversation was quite boring," the Lithuanian woman told the newspaper. "He talked about the Army, going to Afghanistan and bin Laden. And he wanted unprotected sex. I refused."

The documents did not name any of the men, but the papers noted that "Client 6" enjoyed a romp with a hooker named "Astrid" in London. "Client 6" then called the Emperors Club to inquire about another girl for a follow-up session, the papers said.

The British reports about Grosvenor said the duke's prostitutes were young enough to be his daughters. They also had an international flair: In addition to the pair from the former Soviet Union, Grosvenor entertained an Asian woman in knee-high boots and a Brazilian.

The hookers included a Russian who went by the name of Stella. She told reporters that her clients preferred whips and stiletto heels. "At six o'clock," she said in a thick Russian accent, "I stop to be a good girl."

#21  Paul - no, with Seppuku you stick the knife into your bowels and then cut. I think that if I had been caught with a prostitute, my wife would insist that I aim the knife a few inches lower.
But then, I'm not worth millions of dollars for my wife to get in the divorce.

Spitzer Resignation Expected Wednesday
Governor Negotiating To Cut Deal With Federal Prosecutors

#1  Why should federal prosecutors care if he resigns or not? He did the crime; let him do the time. If he is convicted of, or cops to, a felony (apparently "structuring" is indeed a felony), he loses his law license, so after he gets out of politics he won't even be able to practice law. Maybe McDonald's is hiring.
At least this should end any presidential aspirations he might have had.

Impeach Spitzer?
If Gov. Eliot Spitzer opts to roll the dice and not resign, state Republican leadership will force him to go all-in and call for his impeachment from office, according to a state Assemblyman, who admitted he asked the governor to step down.

Sources told CBS 2 HD shortly after it was reported that the governor was linked to a prostitution ring that he would likely hand in his resignation, which could happen within the next 36 hours. One way or another, the clock is ticking on Spitzer's next move.

A throng of media members camped outside Spitzer's Upper East Side apartment on 5th Avenue between 79th and 80th streets Tuesday morning should any new developments break. It's believed Spitzer was holed up inside receiving counsel from advisors and weighing the possibility of resigning.

Many seem to agree that will happen sooner than later. State Assemblyman James Tedisco (R-Schenectady) told CBS 2 HD that he spoke with Lt. Governor Paterson Monday evening and that the two discussed Paterson taking on a new role of leadership, leading Tedisco to believe that action was "forthcoming." Tedisco said if Spitzer does not resign according to a 48-hour deadline that's been imposed, state Republican leadership will call for impeachment proceedings to begin. "I've asked him to resign," Tedisco said. "We'll give him 24 to 48 hours. I think that's plenty of time."
Dumb, dumb, dumb. Don't impeach him. Let him sit and sweat. Let him become a laughingstock. Let Letterman and Leno hammer him every night. Let Court TV, E! and Geraldo do breathless nightly briefings.

The man humiliated his wife, his state and all the good prosecutors and lawyers with whom he's ever worked. He hasn't been punished nearly enough. Yet.
Spitzer, though, was clearly taking the time to examine his legal options. A spokesman said the governor had retained the Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, one of the nation's most prominent.

Transition in the works for Spitzer's departure
Top aides to Governor Eliot Spitzer of New York said Tuesday that they expected the governor to resign his office, a day after law enforcement officials said he was a client of a high-end prostitution ring broken up last week, although the timing of the resignation remained uncertain. Lieutenant Governor David Paterson and his staff have begun laying the groundwork for him to take over as governor, the aides said. As the governor pondered his decision, Assemblyman James Tedisco, a Republican and the Assembly minority leader, said he would begin moving to have Spitzer impeached if the governor did not step down within 48 hours.

#9  Could be some reasonable doubt there. The "hitchhiker" defense might be hard to shake. Subjective impairment claims - without alcohol-breath tests, etc - are easy to parry. As for prior conduct, that couldn't be presented. However, additional convictions would be an aggravating factor in sentencing. But, then she is a 69 year old woman. Hasn't she heard about the Medical Marijuana law? All you have to do is tell a doctor that you have back pain, and he will get certification.

Oregon cops have been looking the other way in pot possession cases since the early seventies. Doing so allows them much more time to patrol communities in search of B & E creeps, few of whom steal for pot. Tens of thousands of police officers are secret supporters of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. I support them 100%.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Sheriff: Woman Sat on Toilet for 2 Years
By ROXANA HEGEMAN
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years—so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.
Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

Whipple said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.

"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Whipple said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself."

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

"And her reply would be, `Maybe tomorrow,'" Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said.

She was reported in fair condition at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.

Police have declined to release the couple's names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number.

The case has been the buzz Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor.

"I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said.

Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there.

"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said of the bathroom incident. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."

Employees Must Use Toilet Paper
A proposed law currently making its way through the Florida legislature might help you with what can be an embarrassing problem. Here's the bottom line, the bill would be a mandate that all eating establishment must have enough toilet paper when you go into the restroom.

The only problem is the bill doesn't dictate how much toilet paper is "enough."

State Senator Victor Crist, a Republican from Tampa, felt the problem was so important, a law must be passed to protect the backsides of anyone in Florida. The measure will also try to regulate the cleanliness of restrooms in eating establishments.

Crist, says in the bill, restaurant inspectors, "should also check the restrooms along with the kitchens to make sure that basic cleanliness necessities are in place."

The Senate Regulated Industries Committee approved the bill, SB 836, on Monday. It has two more stops to go and as long as it's not wiped out before then, it could then go to the Senate floor. A similar measure is currently awaiting passage by the House.

-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
AZ Going A Lot More Gun Friendly
An Arizona bill that would allow concealed guns on college campuses has gained national attention, sparking a debate over whether to let students and teachers arm themselves. But it's only one of at least 15 measures in the Republican-led Legislature this year aimed at loosening gun controls in a state that has long had a fascination with firearms.

Although polls indicate that a minority growing number of Arizonans favor stricter gun laws, GOP legislators and pro-gun activists continue their fight to expand the right to bear arms.

And they appear to be winning.

"For a long time in Arizona, we were losing rights with more and more gun-control laws," says Todd Rathner, a Tucson-based board member and lobbyist for the National Rifle Association. "But, for the past 10 years, we've really been on the offensive. We've taken the game to a new level. We've gained so much ground."

One of the bills filed this session would allow you to carry a pistol in some restaurants - so long as you don't touch the beer and liquor. That measure continues to advance, getting preliminary support from the full Senate last month, although Gov. Janet Napolitano vetoed a similar bill in 2005.

Another measure would make it legal to show a weapon if you feel physically threatened by others. That also has moved through a number of legislative committees. So has the measure that would allow concealed weapons on college campuses...
From this point the article decomposes into the typical liberal anti-gun whining. Yes, AZ is inflicted with liberal media too. Now all that has to be done is to get the bills past the Democrat governor, who is less enthusiastic.

Kevorkian plans congressional run
PONTIAC, Mich. - Assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian is planning to run for Congress in Michigan. Kevorkian is on parole since being released from prison last year.

He tells The Oakland Press newspaper that he plans to run without party affiliation for the congressional sea now held by Republican Joe Knollenberg.

Kevorkian needs a minimum of 3,000 signatures on nominating petitions to appear as an independent on the November ballot.

The retired pathologist claims to have helped at least 130 people die. He served a prison term for second-degree murder in one man's death.

India-Pakistan
Indians seeking vision harm sight
At least 50 people in southern India have damaged their sight by staring at the sun in the hope of seeing a vision of the Virgin Mary, doctors say.

Hundreds of Indian Catholics reportedly stared at the sun last month following rumours that a miraculous image of the Virgin Mary could be seen in the sky.

Soon afterwards, local eye hospitals started receiving patients with burn damage to their retinas.

The incident happened in the district of Kottayam in Kerala state.

"We were receiving patients until a few days ago who were complaining of defective vision," Dr Annamma James, an eye specialist at Kottayam's St Joseph's hospital, told the BBC.

"Their retinas were damaged due to direct exposure to the sun," she said.

Her hospital treated most of the patients.

Unaware of the dangers, many others continued to look at the sun for three or four days.

Dr Annamma said this was probably the first time in India that so many people have damaged their vision by gazing at the sun.

Following reports from the doctors, the local government has now launched an advertising campaign warning of the dangers of looking directly at the sun.

Even the churches in the vicinity have been drafted into the campaign. The local parishes have disowned the miracle.

Doctors say while some people in India tend to watch solar eclipses, it is uncommon for people in such large numbers to have their vision affected by looking directly at the sun.

"We are still giving treatment to those affected. But some may not recover full vision," Dr Annamma said.

"We are studying the problem as there are not many reported studies on this phenomenon."

Rumours of miracles are common in India. Recently, another person in the same region had claimed that statues of Mary in his house have been "crying" honey and "bleeding" perfumes.

It is interesting how free speech is important until it comes to letting the other side give their view and then its shout downs and acting out to prevent the sane and the factual speak.

Those on the left are more to be feared for their totalitarian views and their intolerance of contrary opinions than the right.
