School arranges morning-after pills after end-of-term party descends into drunken orgy

#1  ...stating that a large number of 14-year-old girls had drunken under-age sex at the party.

In most states in America, with the exclusion of the sophisticated and elite Euro blue colonies, that is carnal knowledge and there is no need for anyone else other than the local prosecutor to pursue it. No need for a complaint by the female or the family. They can toss into the mix, endangerment and providing alcohol to minors in the package for any adult with complacency in the matter. However, this case being Euro in nature, I'm sure it'll be some social education and excuse making.

Supermarket robber who hypnotises checkout girls to get the cash is hunted by Italian police
Italian police have issued video footage of a man who has been hypnotizing supermarket checkout staff and getting them to hand over the cash. In every case, according to reports, the last thing staff remember is a man leaning over and saying 'Look into my eyes' before suddenly finding the till is empty. Then he walks away with a grin, tucking goods into his pocket.

In the latest incident captured on video footage the man walked into a bank in Ancona in northern Italy. He waited until he got to a female bank clerk and, according to the video footage, appears to hypnotise her into handing over more than £600. He then calmly walked out.

The cashier who was shown the video footage reportedly has no memory of the incident. She only realised what had happened when she saw the money missing. Checks of CCTV cameras in the bank showed her being hypnotised by the man.

Italian police are now looking for the suspect - who bears an uncanny resemblance to Saddam Hussein - who they believe is either of Indian or North African.

Today's Idiot
Fleeing shoplifter forgets son

AMSTERDAM (Rooters) - A shoplifter looking to make a quick getaway from a Dutch supermarket after stealing a packet of meat left police a crucial piece of evidence -- his 12-year-old son.

In his haste the 45-year-old thief made a solo dash to his car, batting away a supermarket worker who had flung himself on the vehicles' bonnet in a bid to stop the escape.

Police in the southern Dutch town of Kerkrade said they managed to contact the thief via the boy, but he had refused to return and collect his son. The man told officers to get hold of the youngster's mother instead.

The thief later turned himself in Thursday, a police spokeswoman said.
I think the supermarket should have sold the boy, to get back their money, in Amsterdam, I'm sure they would have found a buyer, and a 12-years old boy should sell at least as much as a packet of meat - if not higher.

Spitzer call girl loses $1 million offer
LOS ANGELES (Rooters) - Ashley Alexandra Dupre, the call girl at the center of the Elliot Spitzer sex scandal, watched the potential earnings from her new-found fame drop by $1 million on Tuesday as old nude videos of her emerged.
Ashley, it looks like you're full of fail and aids.
Adult DVD distributor "Girls Gone Wild" discovered videos of a semi-nude Dupre, now 22, in its archives and plans to sell them on its Web site, a company spokesman said.

"Girls Gone Wild" had offered to pay Dupre $1 million to pose nude in a magazine it plans to launch but, after discovering the old footage, the company withdrew its offer.

Last week, Spitzer resigned as governor of New York after news surfaced he had paid for a sexual encounter in Washington, D.C. The New York Times revealed that Dupre was the prostitute he had hired.

A "Girls Gone Wild" video crew met Dupre in Miami in 2003 and she stayed with them for a week shooting videos, the spokesman said.

Coast guard seizes cocaine off Nicaragua
MANAGUA - United States and Nicaraguan authorities seized 1.5 tons of cocaine off the northern Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, local media reported Thursday.

The US Coast Guard captured the load, which was reportedly abandoned by drug dealers being chased off the coast by US and Nicaraguan boats. The four speedboat occupants threw the drugs and weapons overboard before escaping.

Saudi breeders search for new 'Miss Camel'
Pictures at site

Camels are being prized for their beauty - not just their usefulness - in Saudi Arabia where strict Islamic laws and tribal customs prohibit beauty contests for women.

Camel breeders are open about their admiration for the physical attributes of the animals as they gather at this spring's camel markets.

"It's just like judging a beautiful girl," said Fowzan al-Madr, a camel breeder. "You look for big eyes, long lashes and a long neck."

Public displays of affection between men and women are rigidly policed by the feared officials of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice but in the camel bazaars anything goes.

"Camels are just like humans," breeder Haza al-Shammari told the International Herald Tribune. "They love and hate just like humans. That's why you have to bring them up very gently."

"She isn't married yet, this one," he said. "She's still a virgin. Look at the black eyes, the soft fur. The fur is trimmed so it's short and clean, just like a girl going to a party.

"When you get to know the camels, you feel love for them. My camels are like my children, my family."

British author Robert Lacey, a resident of Saudi Arabia, said ownership of a troupe of camels was central to an elite lifestyle that revolves around desert entertainment.

"They let you stroke them and pet them," he said.

"You can go out for the day, two or three hours out of Riyadh, have lunch, play with the camels, have tea, say the sunset prayer in the desert. Camels are a gentleman's pastime and this is how a gentleman entertains his friends.

"In a way, you're also re-enacting the pageant of your ancestors."

With camels changing hands for as much as 17 million Saudi Riyals (£2.2 million), camel owners are keenly awaiting the emergence of a new reigning champion.

The previous top camel, Mashoufan, died in January. Four of its offspring are seen as favourites to claim the crown.

The organiser of the pageant said it was drawing as much interest as a human competition would elsewhere in the Middle East.

"In Lebanon they have Miss Lebanon," said the man who has the username Walid on a competition's website. "Here we have Miss Camel."

#7  You talking about this, Joe?

"Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker says a Maxim magazine poll that named her the "unsexiest woman alive" hurt her feelings."Am I really the unsexiest women in the world?" Parker asked in an interview with Grazia magazine. "Wow! It's kind of shocking."

Parker said the poll, released last October, was "brutal" and "filled with rage and anger."

"But on the other hand," she added, I really like the choices I've made. I am who I am."

The poll ranked Parker as less sexy than Amy Winehouse, Sandra Oh, Madonna and Britney Spears, and called the 43-year-old actress a "Barbaro-faced broad" — a reference to the Kentucky Derby-winning racehorse.

Giant Marine Life Found in Antarctica
Scientists who conducted the most comprehensive survey to date of New Zealand's Antarctic waters were surprised by the size of some specimens found, including jellyfish with 12-foot tentacles and 2- foot-wide starfish.

A 2,000-mile journey through the Ross Sea that ended Thursday has also potentially turned up several new species, including as many as eight new mollusks.

It's "exciting when you come across a new species," said Chris Jones, a fisheries scientist at the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. "All the fish people go nuts about that—but you have to take it with a grain of salt."

The finds must still be reviewed by experts to determine if they are in fact new, said Stu Hanchet, a fisheries scientist at New Zealand's National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research.

But beyond the discovery of new species, scientists said the survey, the most comprehensive to date in the Ross Sea, turned up other surprises.

Hanchet singled out the discovery of "fields" of sea lilies that stretched for hundreds of yards across the ocean floor. "Some of these big meadows of sea lilies I don't think anybody has seen before," Hanchet said.

Previously only small-scale scientific samplings have been staged in the Ross Sea.

The survey was part of the International Polar Year program involving 23 countries in 11 voyages to survey marine life and habitats around Antarctica. The program hopes to set benchmarks for determining the effects of global warming on Antarctica, researchers said. Large sea spiders, jellyfish with 12-foot tentacles, huge sea snails and starfish the size of big food platters were found during a 50-day voyage, marine scientist Don Robertson said.

Cold temperatures, a small number of predators, high levels of oxygen in the sea water and even longevity could explain the size of some specimens, said Robertson, a scientist with NIWA.

Robertson added that of the 30,000 specimens collected, hundreds might turn out to be new species.

Stefano Schiaparelli, a mollusk specialist at Italy's National Antarctic Museum in Genoa, said he thought the find would yield at least eight new mollusks. "This is a new brick in the wall of Antarctic knowledge," Schiaparelli said.

#1  Reverend Wright is not/was not a marginal character. He leads the largest African-American congregation in Chicago, and apparently his views place him well in the mainstream of black religious thought. I was told similar things about AIDS and white thievery of black innovations going back to ancient Egyptian times. This was 1988, and she was a young, black, Purdue-trained engineer hired by Mr. Wife's company. S. had grown up in Atlanta, and gone to school and church with the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.'s children, about whom she had decidedly tart things to say. S. had more uncomfortable things to say about Jews and whites, which made my working life as her lab technician quite uncomfortable. But I still go to the ob-gyn she liked to describe as "my little Jewish doctor," -- all 6', 250+ lb. of him. All her doctors were Jews; she didn't trust the ability of the ones who shared her own skin color.

#10  smn - he does all the damage hissownself (with wife as aggravated accessory). His words are either true, or lies. He either has behaved a certain "unacceptable" way for 20+ years or lived a complicated lie for poltical gain - your pick. Your candidate is f*cked.

That said, the Clintons are just as bad, but in the open, as long as their records are released...

Either way? heh heh - you're a 2008 chew toy

Israel grounds some F-16 fighters over cancer fears
JERUSALEM (Rooters) - The Israeli air force said on Friday it was suspending training flights using U.S.-made F-16I fighter jets after finding a suspected cancer-causing substance in the cockpit. Israel informed Lockheed Martin Corp, the U.S. defense contractor that manufactures the F-16, that formaldehyde residues were leaking into the cockpit, the military said in a statement.

"Tests have shown that the substance is formaldehyde, which was recently identified as a carcinogen," the statement said. "The air force has passed the information to the aircraft manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, and tests are being coordinated with the company."

The two-seater F-16I, known in Israel as the "Storm", was designed specifically for the Israeli air force. The air force did not say whether non-training flights were affected.

Yes they do, called OBOGS - On board Oxygen Generation System.

There is also OBIGS / OBIGGS On board Inert Gas Gerneration System. Often used to pressurize the feul tanks among other tings.

#4  We used to almost bathe in formaldehyde in my Zoology classes. 30 years later I can still smell the stuff when I think of those lab classes and you reeked for days afterward of the stuff.

#5  Could get all snarky and ask for the location of all the ex-katrina FEMA trailers and if any were used by L-M for parts storage.

but this looks like a cover for other issues and i would be more suspect of a ketone based substance ( MIK, MEK, are two that come to mind)

Science & Technology
40% of all spam comes from just one source
. . . and it's not the Hormel plant in Austin, Minnesota.

Six bots are responsible for 85% of all spam, according to an analysis by Marshal. The Srizbi botnet is the largest single source of spam - accounting for 39% of junk mail messages – followed by the Rustock botnet, responsible for 21% of the spam. Spam coming from the Mega-D botnet was temporarily stemmed after control servers were taken out in mid-February.
Somebody hug the people who did that, please!
The estimated 35,000 zombie clients associated with the Mega-D botnet were infected with the Ozdok Trojan. After 10 days of inactivity, spam from compromised hosts began flowing again earlier this week, after hackers re-established control. Despite the short offline period, Spam-D accounted for an estimated 11% of junk mail in February. Other active spam botnets include Hacktool.Spammer (AKA Spam-Mailer) and botnets associated with the Pushdo (AKA Pandex) family of malware. The infamous Storm botnet, estimated to have about 85,000 compromised hosts, is thought to be responsible for only 3% of spam.

Most of the times, spammers have access to multiple botnets and they have been simultaneously sending spam promoting Express Herbals, a line of male enhancement pills. (almost 70% of spam promotes male enhancement pills)

You just can't help wondering what a well-placed JDAM or two could do . . .

Naaaah that's overkill, just publish the names and E-addresses of the programmers, and nature (Read "Infuriated Geeks") will take care of the problem, they'll never have a working computer again in their whole life.

#2  Hmh. I thought it was going to be the DNC.

#3  The problem is nearly as much the fault of ignorant buttmunches who leave their computers on the net, unprotected, and turned on 24*7, as well as clicking on links in unsolicited email, and visiting sites and allowing trajans to be downlaoded by clicking thru "yes" on the installs without thinking - perfect fodder for botnets.

ISP should be REQUIRED to notify people whose computers appear to be comppromised (lots of DOS type packets coming out, or email traffic in excess of statistical norms) - and if there is no reply within 30 days, then SHUT THEIR NET ACCESS OFF - only allow web access and only through a proxy, shut off all other ports. For repeat offenders they get disconnected.

If you are virused YOU GET QUARANTINED.

#4  I prefer the type of enforcement that leaves the harddrive as a single brick of melted composite. When they complain just send their address to all the ISP's who've had to handle the load to sue for stolen services.

#5  A lot of blame goes to the end users. If people weren't clicking through trying to enlarge their penises there would be no market for spam.

Another large dose goes to Microsoft for not plugging the holes that connect their email with their system.

Lastly a dose goes to the law for not making it a federal crime punishable by death to insert mallware and viruses onto other peoples computers. I don't care if you are a child or Russian Eurotrash. And for god sakes can't we just cut Nigeria off from all internet access yet.
