Tongue firmly in cheek, Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) on Tuesday afternoon called on reporters to demand to see the birth certificate of new Rep. Charles Djou (R-Hawaii). Yes, tongue-in-cheek and Barney Frank appeared in the same sentence. EWWW!
As Djou was being sworn into office, Frank walked the hallway of the Speaker's Lobby off the House floor calling on the media to "do your job" and review Djou's papers. Hey Media. Djou review Djou's papers?
It was a small bit of payback for the enormous amount of attention some conservatives (and the media) paid to the is-the-president-really-from-America controversy. But, unlike the commander-in-chief, as Frank knows, being born outside the U.S. does not preclude you from becoming a member of Congress. Just poking some fun at the Media. I'll stop here before I get out of control.

I think Djou should take Obama's "birth certificate", cross out Obama's name, write in his and present it to Barney in front of news cameras.

Good. Every politician wanna be should produce their documents, just as the government demands everyone else to do for various reasons. The only thing I will ever agree with Bawney on.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-five percent (45%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -22. Thats the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for this president (see trends).
Enthusiasm for the president among Democrats, which bounced following passage of the health care law, has faded again. Just 48% of those in the presidents party now Strongly Approve of Obamas performance. Thats down from 65% earlier.

I continue to be dumbfounded by all this. 42% of those surveyed still at least somewhat approve of that moke? Where the hell have they been the past year?!

30% or so of the sheeple are hard lefties. Of the remainder some simply don't pay attention or are too stupid to know the difference. 42% is near the absolute bottom unless he manages to offend left, right and center simultaneously.

I remain convinced a significant portion of that 42% represent people who cannot publicly say they disapprove of Bambi for fear of being perceived as a racist. So I think this is really a baseline until some popular, and acceptable to lefties source, like Madcow or CommieNewsNetwork turns on him and makes it okay for lefties to separate his policies from his skin color.

At least Christie is trying. He's actually trying to do what he promised votes if he were to be elected.
It must really suck to be stuck in New Jersey and still have to pay the nations highest taxes.
At least in California you get nice weather, beautiful women & good scenery along with outrageous taxes.

I don't hear too much about Christie blaming what he inherited on Corzine. It would just sound like so much whining. We get enough of that out of the WH.

The more I learn and hear about Christie, the more I like him. He has stayed true to the promises he made which got him elected (and in one of the bluest of blue states, no less). That is a rare phenomenon in the political world these days and I suspect the voters have taken notice, and not just in NJ. If he keeps this up, he may well position himself for even higher office.
