-Lurid Crime Tales-
Major Democrat Just Found Guilty – She's Going Down for 1 Major Crime Against Taxpayers
From just before Christmas.
[PatriotJournal] Since 2020, we’ve learned about numerous groups and individuals who cheated the federal government. These people scammed the Paycheck Protection Program, which was created to save jobs during the COVID lockdowns.

Government reports claim that most of the fraud has not yet been accounted for. Criminals stole billions of dollars meant to help working Americans.

But at least one more crook has been brought to justice. A former police officer and attorney out of Georgia was caught doing the unthinkable during COVID. And now, this one-time Democrat candidate is facing justice.

From The Post Millennial:

Shelitha Robertson, an attorney and former Atlanta police officer who once ran for office as a Democrat to become a superior court judge, was found guilty by a federal jury in Georgia on Tuesday of fraudulently obtaining over $7 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans.

In what will be a shocking revelation to many, a former police officer and attorney fraudulently took $7 million from the U.S. government during the COVID pandemic.

The funds came out of the Paycheck Protection Program, a program created to help businesses keep their workers employed. As states shut down, this money was supposed to ensure millions of Americans were put out on the streets.
I don't think that's quite right
Yet Robertson took $7 million of this money. According to prosecutors, she spent it on a Rolls-Royce, motorcycle, and even a $148,000 10-carat diamond ring. It appears she gained numerous loans through her multiple companies, despite being the only one employed.

Robertson did not appear repentant, despite being charged. She blamed her friend and attorney, Chandra Norton, for the false applications. Yet it was not Norton who spent all the money, was it?

A jury found Robertson guilty of three counts of wire fraud and one single of money laundering and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

She is awaiting sentencing, which will come next April.

Top House committee probes John Kerry's coordination with eco groups pushing coal power shutdown
[FoxNews - sorry, paywalled] Comer expresses concern Kerry's activities may enable foreign governments to undermine US national security

JustTheNews version (not paywalled): Comer asked that Blinken provide the committee with any communications between Kerry, the State Department, and other relevant parties related to the decision to join the PPCA.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer on Friday launched a probe seeking documents related Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC) John Kerry's dealings with environmental activist organizations to bring the U.S. into an anti-coal bloc.

Kerry announced the U.S.'s entry into the Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) last year. Comer previously secured documents from from the administration connected with Kerry's office, including off-the-record communications between Kerry, his office, and myriad environmental groups related to the PPCA, which triggered the probe.

"The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is continuing its investigation into the activities of the office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate (SPEC). Documents produced to the Committee reveal that the State Department sought and received feedback from leftist environmental groups on the Powering Past Coal Alliance (PPCA) and enabled those groups to influence U.S. foreign policy," he wrote to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

File: Comer letter to Blinken

"These documents raise significant concerns that confidential information related to U.S. foreign policy, energy policy, and national security policy, have been shared with these groups, including in off-the-record meetings with Envoy John Kerry," he continued. "In light of these concerns, we request the State Department provide a staff-level briefing and additional documents and communications regarding the U.S. decision to join the PPCA."

Comer asked that Blinken provide the committee with any communications between Kerry, the State Department, and other relevant parties related to the decision to join the PPCA. He then set the deadline for submission to Jan. 19.

WATCH: DeSantis Says January 6 Defendants ‘Didn't Display Patriotism' by Protesting 2020 Election
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis jabbed January 6 protesters, many of whom remain imprisoned for simply trespassing, during a CNN town hall in Iowa on Thursday.

DeSantis was unsympathetic to their plight, saying they didn’t "display patriotism" while protesting the election certification.

"Did the Jan. 6 insurrectionists display patriotism, as some of them claim they did?" DeSantis was asked by a voter.

"No, of course not. That was not a good day for the country," DeSantis replied.

"I think the media has taken that and the left has taken that and really tried to politicize it, but it was not a good day for the country," the Republican presidential candidate continued. "Patriotism to me is when you put yourself out there and put service above self."

As of December, roughly 1,240 people have been arrested for being at the Capitol.

The New York Times reported earlier this week, "... that may be only half of the total indictments that will ultimately be filed."

"As for punishment, more than 450 people have been sent to jail or prison.

Government Corruption
Former Burisma Lawyer John Buretta Files Retroactive FARA Disclosure As Biden Impeachment Inquiry Progresses
[Daily Caller] A former lawyer for Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings registered as a foreign agent Thursday as House Republicans continue to investigate the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.

John Buretta, a partner at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, filed Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) disclosures with the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the work he carried out on behalf of Burisma and its founder Mykola Zlochevsky from 2016-17, FARA documents show. (RELATED: Hunter Biden Did Not Get Overdue Tax Returns Prepared For Months After Getting Sober, Docs Show)

FARA REGISTRATION:

"In January 2016, Mr. Buretta was retained to represent Mykola Zlochevsky in connection with possible investigations by governmental authorities in the United States. The representation thereafter broadened to include Burisma Holdings Limited, as well as governmental investigations in Ukraine, and continued until April 2017," the FARA disclosure form reads.

"As part of this representation, Mr. Buretta met with three U.S. government officials in March 2016 and sent one letter to a U.S. government official in September 2016. In these interactions, Mr. Buretta identified his clients and presented facts relevant to potential U.S. and Ukrainian investigations, including information from a UK proceeding involving his clients."

Burisma and Zlochevsky paid Cravath more than $349,000 for professional services from January 2016 to April 2017, the law firm said in its form. Cravath told the Daily Caller it retroactively filed the FARA documents after consultation with the DOJ.

"After discussions with the Department of Justice regarding FARA’s scope, Cravath has filed a retroactive registration covering legal services provided to two former clients in March and September 2016, and a supplemental statement terminating the registration as of September 2016," Cravath said in a statement.

Hunter Biden joined Burisma’s board in spring 2014 and initially received a salary of over $80,000 per month, bank records show. His father, then-vice president Joe Biden, oversaw the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy at the time.

House Republicans are investigating the role Joe Biden played in his son’s foreign business dealings as part of the ongoing impeachment inquiry into the president. The White House has said Joe Biden was "not in business" with his son. (RELATED: Hunter Biden’s Business Relationship With Chinese Firm Began During Joe Biden’s Vice Presidency, Docs Show)

Former Burisma board member and Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer told the House Oversight Committee in July the Biden family "brand" protected Burisma from legal scrutiny. Hunter Biden once warned Archer in 2014 about making sure not to violate FARA. However, Hunter has not registered as a foreign agent for his work with Burisma.

Archer recalled a spring 2015 dinner Joe Biden attended with Burisma executive Vadim Pozharskyi and roughly 20 other instances where Joe Biden spoke with his son’s business associates. Pozharskyi sent Hunter Biden an email the following day expressing his excitement about meeting Joe Biden, Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop archive shows. The New York Post first reported on the dinner and subsequent email.

Then-VP Biden exchanged over 50 private emails with Hunter Biden’s former business associate Eric Schwerin, most of which came around his June 2014 Ukraine trip, according to email data released Dec. 5 by the House Ways and Means Committee.

House Republicans have subpoenaed Schwerin, Hunter Biden’s former business associate Rob Walker and his uncle James Biden to appear before congress.

Joe Biden denied ever communicating with Hunter Biden’s business associates Dec. 6 after he was pressed by New York Post reporter Steven Nelson.

Burisma hired lobbying firm Blue Star Strategies in late 2015 to assist with its efforts to lobby the Obama administration, the firm later disclosed in a May 2022 FARA form. A memo Blue Star sent to Burisma in December 2015 featured then-VP Biden’s talking points for his upcoming Ukraine trip where he pushed Ukraine to address corruption.

In March 2016, Ukraine fired top prosecutor Viktor Shokin, who appeared to be investigating Burisma at the time. Joe Biden has bragged on multiple occasions about threatening to withhold $1 billion of funding for Ukraine if Shokin was not fired.

Archer told Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson in August that Shokin was considered a "threat" to Burisma’s business. Shokin had Zlochevsky’s property raided the month before Shokin got fired, according to a Ukrainian media report. Archer also recalled to Carlson how Shokin seized Zlochevsky’s assets.

Later that year, Blue Star and Schwerin discussed taking a "victory lap" after Zlochevsky appeared to be let off by Shokin’s replacement, another Blue Star client. In early 2017, a Ukrainian news outlet interviewed Buretta, and the attorney said he joined Zlochevsky and Burisma’s legal team after recommendations from U.S. advisors.

Pelosi's stocks surge: 'A sign of quasi-insider trading that's corrupt'
[WND] Former House Speaker and Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California made a 65% profit on her stock trading portfolio in 2023, according to an analysis of House of Representatives financial disclosure records by the group Unusual Whales.

Pelosi and her husband Paul, a venture capitalist in San Francisco, have long been known for their jointly held stock portfolio, which has made significant profits in recent years. In 2023, the Pelosi portfolio’s profits were driven by trading options contracts — which allow the holder to purchase a stock at a lower price than its market value — and outperformed the Standard and Poor’s 500 Index of the U.S. stock market’s largest companies by a margin of 40%, Unusual Whales reported.

"It’s a sign of quasi-insider trading that’s corrupt and should be banned — it’s either an addiction to risk or a sign of corruption," said Jeff Hauser, the director of the Revolving Door Project, to the New York Post about Pelosi’s profits. "There are teams of people at sophisticated hedge funds that exist to find minor arbitrage opportunities to make a profit. It’s preposterous to think they are finding profit where Bridgewater or Renaissance Capital is missing it."

Pelosi’s profits exceed those of the largest hedge funds in the United States. The largest, Bridgewater Associates, lost 7.6% in 2023, while Millennium Management gained 10% and Republican donor Ken Griffin’s Citadel LLC gained 15.3%, though, unlike Pelosi, none of them beat the S&P 500.

Pelosi’s trading history was criticized after the Daily Caller News Foundation reported in July 2022 that Paul Pelosi had traded stocks in Nvidia, a semiconductor manufacturing company, shortly before Nancy shepherded the passage of the CHIPS Act through the House as speaker, with the law creating billions of dollars in subsidies for U.S. semiconductor manufacturing. Paul Pelosi later divested from Nvidia after the initial DCNF report, but then purchased $1 million to $5 million in call options on Nov. 22, 2023.

Completing this poll entitles you to WND news updates free of charge. You may opt out at anytime. You also agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Despite her 65% profit, Pelosi was not the most successful trader in Congress. Democratic Rep. Brian Higgins of New York, who has spent the majority of his career in elected office, topped the list with a 239% profit in 2023, with Pelosi being only the ninth-most successful lawmaker in the chamber.

The enormous returns posted by Pelosi and other lawmakers have frequently spurred efforts by some members of Congress — such as Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida —to ban elected officials from trading stocks and other financial instruments.

Eid al-Fitr Could Become ‘Official State Holiday' in Pennsylvania
[Lancaster Patriot] The Muslim holiday known as Eid al-Fitr could become an official state holiday in Pennsylvania.

House Bill 1752, sponsored by a trio of Democrat representatives in the Philadelphia area, would provide "for the annual designation and holiday observance of the first day of the Islamic lunar month of Shawwal as Eid al-Fitr Day in this Commonwealth."

Eid al-Fitr, one of two major Muslim holidays, is celebrated at the end of Ramadan, a month of intermittent fasting and religious observances.

According to a House memo, the holiday "includes two to three days of celebrations, and it begins with a special prayer service at the mosque."

Rep. Tarik Khan
...RN with a PhD who was galvanized by the COVID situation to run for office in 2022, he is the highly energetic child of a Moslem Pakistani who came here for graduate school and a Catholic nurse. His brother, Joe Khan, a public prosecutor, is running for Pennsylvania attorney general...
(D-Philadelphia County), one of the bill’s co-sponsors, referenced William Penn’s legacy as support for the government’s promotion of the Islamic holiday.

Prosecutor claims Trump could 'incite' supporters to 'kill lawmakers' without penalty
[WND] Prosecutors use rhetoric and hyperbole to convince juries — or the public as the case may be — of the vile, evil propensity for wrongdoing in those they've accused.

But Jack Smith, the prosecutor hand-picked by the Biden administration to bring one of its cases, over Jan. 6, 2021, against President Trump, appears to have gone over the edge.

He's charging that there's nothing the U.S. could do if a president, during a State of the Union address, incited followers to kill opposing politicians.

Smith has outlined the details of his wild claims in a court filing.
