[All Africa] Foreign affairs minister Walter Mzembi confirmed Wednesday that he was a runaway as cabinet colleagues and G40 allies Jonathan Moyo and Saviour Kasukuwere were reportedly picked up by the military.
Also detained was finance minister Ignatius Chombo amid social media rumours claiming that he was found with US$10m in cash at his Harare home.
Moyo and Kasukuwere had been holed up at President Bob Muggsy Mugabe Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case... 's private mansion in the capital. They were reportedly extracted from the property late Wednesday and detained at the army's KG6 barracks.
Meanwhile, ...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Nunzio had his hands full of angry bleached blonde... Mzembi, who was out of the country as the military takeover unfolded, confirmed that he was now a runaway.
The minister, a Mugabe favourite, was recently promoted to the foreign affairs portfolio after his unsuccessful bid to become secretary general of the United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
"I just got a surprise solidarity call from UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai and Hon Charles Banda of Zambia," Mzembi told a global travel publication Wednesday.
He did not disclose his whereabouts, but added; "I am touched by the expression of empathy and sympathy for my well-being and that of my family under these difficult circumstances.
"It really got to the bottom of my heart that a country I carried the cross for most recently in the UNWTO elections could be seeking to create a runaway out of me!
"I trust that wisdom will prevail in the name of diplomacy to amicably end this crisis to the satisfaction of all."

Allow me to hop on board the runaway Accuser Bandwagon: I witnessed Al Franken commit sexual harassment, and from a front row seat.
Literally.
Front row, right side at Student Union Ballroom of Montana State University, Bozeman, Montana. Winter of 1979 or 1980. Actually, I witnessed both Al Franken and his then partner, Tom Davis, commit acts of unwanted sexual harassment.
At the time I was something of a performer myself, and provided the opening act for prominent jazz band in the college club and concert circuits. So of course I made it a point to see the Franken and Davis Show. I fancied myself a professional peer.
I was enjoying the show from my front row seat. I thought it was nice that Al Franken mentioned his wife had very recently (the previous week?) given birth to (if I recall correctly) his first child, a son. Good for him. A proud father. I even enjoyed the lefty weather report skit, reporting on the ten thousand degree temperatures resulting from the nuclear war. "Remember to wear your lead suits at the beach tomorrow!"
I observed that they had taped a poster on the low stage floor, front center, listing their skits as a memory aid, and thereafter used that method in my own show.
I wish I had read how they listed the act I will discuss; Ass Grab? Fanny Fondle? The author then presents his case.
They don't need him anymore. He cast his 0-Care vote and now his baggage makes him a liability. The Dem Gov of MN will appoint another Donk, so the political balance will be maintained.
