Iranian Tanker Burns After Collision with Bulk Carrier Off China; 32 Missing
Insh'Allah Navigation?
A tanker carrying Iranian oil and run by the country’s top oil shipping operator was ablaze and spewing cargo into the East China Sea on Sunday after colliding with a Chinese bulk ship, leaving its 32 crew members missing, the Chinese government said.

Thick clouds of dark smoke could be seen billowing out of the Sanchi tanker, engulfing the vessel as rescue efforts were hampered by bad weather and fire on and around the ship, Mohammad Rastad, head of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organisation, told Iranian television.

The Sanchi collided with the CF Crystal about 160 nautical miles off the coast near Shanghai and the mouth of the Yangtze River Delta on Saturday evening, the Chinese Ministry of Transportation said in a statement.

The Panama-registered tanker was sailing from Iran to South Korea, carrying 136,000 tonnes of condensate, an ultra light crude. That is equivalent to just under 1 million barrels, worth about $60 million, based on global crude oil prices.

"Sanchi is floating and burning as of now," the ministry said. "There is an oil slick and we are pushing forward with rescue efforts."

State media CCTV showed pictures of the tanker ablaze and billowing plumes of thick dark smoke.

It had sent four rescue ships and three cleaning boats to the site by 9 a.m. (0100 GMT) on Sunday, it added.

South Korea also sent a ship and helicopter to help. A Korean Coast Guard official confirmed the tanker was still raging at 1 p.m. (0500 GMT). He declined to be identified as he was not authorised to speak to the media.

The tanker’s 32 crew members were all Iranian nationals except for two Bangladeshi nationals, the Chinese transport ministry said.

"There is a wide perimeter of flames around the vessel because of the spillage and search and rescue efforts are being carried out with difficulty," Rastad said.

"Unfortunately, up to this moment, there is no news of the crew," he said.

CF Crystal’s 21 crew members, all Chinese nationals, were rescued and the ship suffered "non-critical" damage, China’s transport ministry said.

It was not immediately clear how much environmental damage had been caused or the volume of oil spilled into the sea.

MAJOR MARITIME INCIDENT
The incident also marked the first major maritime incident involving an Iranian tanker since the lifting of international sanctions on Iran in January 2016.

There was a collision involving an NITC-operated supertanker in the Singapore Strait in August 2016, but there was no loss of life or pollution.

The Chinese government gave no details of the size of the spill. The Foreign Ministry said in a separate statement that the cause of the incident was under investigation.

Reuters ship tracking data shows Sanchi was built in 2008 and was managed by the National Iranian Tanker Co (NITC). Its registered owner is Bright Shipping Ltd.

It was due to arrive at Daesan in South Korea from Kharg Island in Iran on Sunday, according to Reuters ship tracking.

The Sanchi tanker, leased by Hanwha Total Petrochemical Co Ltd, had "valid foreign insurance", Iranian oil ministry spokesman Kasra Nouri told Iran’s state television.

Hanwha Total was not immediately available for comment.

Sanchi collided with CF Crystal, registered in Hong Kong, which was carrying 64,000 tonnes of grain from the United States to China’s southern province of Guangdong, the government said.

CF Crystal, which was built in 2011, was due to arrive in China on Jan. 10, according to Reuters ship tracking data.

NFL Wild Card Weekend - Double Digit Ratings Drop!
As Instapundit sez - 'Get woke, go broke.'
[AwfulAnnouncing] The ratings news is in for the first round of the NFL playoffs, and it doesn’t look great for the networks and the NFL, with every single game suffering double-digit drops year over year relative to comparable slots.

First, the Tennessee Titans-Kansas City Chiefs broadcast on ESPN and ABC Saturday afternoon was not only a drop from last year, but the least-viewed NFL playoff game since 2012.
... and that was the best game of the four over the weekend - go figure.

Afghanistan
Cannon Airmen to receive Distinguished Flying Cross
[AFSOC] Two Cannon Airmen will be awarded the oldest American military aviation award at the 9th Special Operations Squadron Auditorium on base Jan. 5, 2018.

Brig. Gen. William G. Holt, Air Force Special Operations Command Director of Operations, will present Capt. Charlotte Raabe and Staff Sgt. Gary Bjerke of the 9th SOS the Distinguished Flying Cross for conducting an emergency aerial resupply to U.S. troops while under direct fire from the enemy.

Both Airmen were part of a 6-man aircrew on a MC-130J Commando II aircraft conducting an emergency resupply airdrop to a team of United States and Coalition Special Operations Forces who were under hostile fire in an isolated area in Afghanistan. Raabe acted as the Combat Systems Officer while Bjerke was the aircraft’s loadmaster.

Raabe had to make recalculations while the aircraft went through an area where the enemy’s small arms and anti-aircraft artillery could reach her aircraft with lethal effectiveness. Despite the aircraft taking fire, Raabe prepared the aircrew to still deliver the resupply. Bjerke readied himself to drop it out of the back.

"It did not set in that we were taking fire until the ramp and door had opened," Bjerke said. "I distinctively remember hearing the cracks of the bullets passing behind the aircraft. The only thing I could think of was that this resupply needed to be executed successfully. I was entirely focused on doing what I had to in order get the drop off."

The airdrop bundle effectively landed within 50 meters of the Special Forces team, providing critical ammunition and supplies that directly contributed to the successful counterattack by the team. As a result, the entire Special Operations team was safely evacuated in a timely matter after achieving national level objectives.

"Charli and Gary represent the best of what Air Commandos bring to the work we do every day at home and abroad," said Lt. Col. Matthew Bartlett, 9th SOS commander. "It is an honor to be able to recognize them for the selfless professionalism they exhibited a year ago in Afghanistan."

The DFC is the fifteenth highest U.S. Military decoration awarded to any officer or enlisted member of the U.S. Armed Forces who distinguishes himself or herself in support of operations by heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight, subsequent to Nov. 11, 1918. Other aviators in the exclusive group include Alan Shepard, John Glenn, Amelia Earhart and President George H.W. Bush.

"It is very humbling to receive this award," Bjerke said. "I was surprised when I was notified and I am honored to receive it."

Burst water main adds to passengers' misery at New York's JFK airport
[Guardian] Flooding due to a burst water main forced the suspension of international flight arrivals at New York’s John F Kennedy international airport on Sunday, adding to the misery of travelers after a "bomb cyclone" winter storm canceled or delayed hundreds of flights.

Water poured from the ceiling on to a check-in counter and covered large areas of the floor of Terminal 4, video on CNN showed. The disruption occurred while the US north-east continued to endure bone-chilling weather with the New York temperature at 17F (-8C).

International flights to Terminal 4 were suspended and passengers who had already arrived there were diverted to other terminals, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport. The airport advised travelers to check with their airlines before arriving.

The Port Authority said the burst water pipe appeared to be weather related. Flights later resumed but with delays, it said.

Let's Hope It's Contagious

[LidBlog] The latest obsession of the mainstream media and other leftists is questioning the President’s mental health. Allow me to suggest that If they are correct and the President is mentally unstable it’s not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, if having a screw loose makes people as successful as Donald Trump was during the past eleven and a half months, we should pray it’s contagious and that everyone in Congress and the federal bureaucracy catches it (and save some of it for me).

Libyan Slave Markets and Jumping into the Fire
h/t Instapundit
[DaTechGuyBlog] A few people are still talking about slave markets of Libya. (Allow me to say something nice about CNN.) Some seem to think they just sprang up only since the ouster of Gaddafi, but they’ve been around for a long time and black Africans are the primary product. Again. And the African migration to Europe ‐ along with Libya’s anarchy ‐ has made the trade much more lucrative.

We all know that Arab Muslims have been buying and selling black Africans for centuries, right? Scratch that. I know that some of us don’t or won’t acknowledge this.

Olde Tyme Religion
What We Get For the Hundreds of Millions We Give To Terrorists
[SultanKnish] "We pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect," President Trump tweeted. "With the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?"

...The United States has paid the PLO’s Palestinian Authority billions to occasionally pretend to talk about peace. There isn’t a dollar amount high enough to get the terrorists to actually agree to peace.

...We know two things about the terrorist leader who will succeed Arafat and Abbas. His name will start with an ’A’ and like Arafat and Abbas, he’ll wait around for the perfect moment in a peace negotiation with a lefty president before, as Arafat did to Clinton and Abbas did to Obama, breaking it all up.

And that’s one of the priceless things that the fake terror statelet of the Palestinian Authority gives us for our hundreds of millions of dollars. Every decade its leader will lead on a lefty and then leave him at the altar. It may cost us another few billion, but somewhere around 2026, President Cory Booker will be certain that he’s finally solved the Palestinian problem only to sit there confused with egg on his face.

Is that worth hundreds of millions of dollars a year? Maybe not. But it’s also a good lesson to lefties that they don’t understand the Muslim world and that no matter how hard they try, they never will.

But that’s not all that we get for our money.

The peace process with the PLO was the original test case for the Arab Spring and the Iran Deal. All three were founded on the same stupid belief that if you give the terrorists almost everything they want, they won’t kill you. Every year that passes shows that no matter what you give them, the terrorists will kill you. Bribing killers doesn’t work. Meeting their demands is impossible because there are always more.
"Palestine" was the lab there they worked out the details of both terror acts and politics based on terror threats - WOT is the industrial application of these methods.
...Back in ’04, a member of the PLO’s Fatah faction tried to build an AIDS bomb.

Rami Abdullah, an engineering student, wanted to blow himself up while carrying blood from a donor infected with AIDS. "After a period, it will kill a lot of people," he explained.

Abdullah has already promised that if he gets out, he’ll try to live the dream of building an AIDS bomb.

...An AIDS bomb plot by Tanzim, the most violent terror arm of the Palestinian Authority, was planned over Passover back then. But the lab Jihadis never figured out how to make it work. One day though, if we keep funding them, they might figure it out. And then we too can enjoy AIDS bombs in our cities.

And isn’t that worth a mere few hundred million dollars a year?

We could stop funding terrorists. Also we could stop smoking, running full tilt into glass doors and finally pull off that New Year’s resolution to stop drinking antifreeze. Those would all be good ideas. And they would make us safer and happier. So you can expect Washington D.C. to reject them out of hand.

The experts are convinced that if we don’t fund the terrorists, they’ll behave even worse. So far we haven’t actually tested this theory. No one wants to find out what they can come up with that’s worse than an AIDS bomb.

But if anyone in Washington D.C. can stop doing that stupid thing all the experts insist we need to do, it’s President Trump. And so just maybe this can be the year we stop running into glass doors, drinking antifreeze and funding terrorists. We may lose out on some Arafat murals and AIDS bombs, but the Americans who are regularly killed every year by Palestinian Islamic terrorists will thank him for it.

And if not, we can always look forward to President Elizabeth Warren being humiliated by President Ahmed of the PLO as he walks away from the table despite being offered 99% of Israel and Netanyahu’s first-born son. And then unleashes toddler stone throwers and AIDS suicide bombers across Jerusalem.

Jim Mattis: I'm too busy 'actually doing my job' to read Michael Wolff's book
[Wash Examiner] Defense Secretary Jim Mattis joked with reporters Friday that he was too preoccupied with his position at the Pentagon to read the explosive new tell-all book about the Trump administration.

"No, I'm a little busy, these days, actually doing my job, you know?", Mattis told journalists when asked whether he intended to peruse Michael Wolff's book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.

"No, I don't ‐ I don't ‐ I purposely don't read that. And, if it's a book with my name in it, the aide puts sticky ‐ double stickies over it, so I don't read about myself," he added during a media opportunity.

This is Mattis' second jocular exchange with the press pool in several days.

On Thursday, he shut down a reporter's question regarding President Trump's tweet comparing the size and power of his "nuclear button" to that of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

"My job as the secretary of defense is to make certain that we have forces ready to defend this country," Mattis said.

"But with all due respect, Mr. Secretary...," a member of the gaggle interjected.

"That always preludes something that is perhaps less than due respect from you, Barbara," Mattis replied. "Go ahead, please."

Senior Hillary Adviser Tells Students He's Nervous They Will Like The Tax Cuts And Vote Republican
[Daily Caller] One of Hillary Clinton’s longest-serving, most-trusted political advisers is deeply worried that young voters will see more money in their bank accounts after the GOP tax cuts and therefore consider voting Republican.
They really should stay with the Democratic party. There's much more work to be done.
Philippe Reines served as a senior adviser to Hillary Clinton for more than a decade in multiple roles in both her Senate and state department offices. He also advised Clinton in the lead up to her presidential campaign. Reines sat down with Washington interns to give his assessment of the political landscape after the 2016 election. Reines was asked by a young woman about the future of young voters in politics. The Clinton advisor first began by saying he didn’t know "how millennials think" and that it is "unclear what will get them going."

Reines speculated that someone like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren would be good at tapping youth enthusiasm but went on to say he is fearful that Trump and GOP policies will begin to animate millennials, specifically when they see their taxes go down.

Dozens of Golan-300 rockets obliterate militant defenses as veteran brigade arrives in east Damascus
[ALMASDARNEWS] A veteran battle-group of the Syrian Arab Army has officially joined the powerful counter-offensive by government forces in the east Damascus district of Harasta. The formation announced its arrival via a crescendo of rocket fire delivered onto jihadist positions.

The elite al-Ghaith Group of the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division (itself a veteran formation) has officially joined the ongoing battle in east Damascus’ Harasta district after news of its assignment to this front surfaced several days ago.

The first asset of the battle-group to make its presence felt was the formation’s unique Golan-300 multiple-launch heavy rocket systems. To this effect, many dozens of the rockets have been unleashed onto the positions of jihadist snuffies in what appears to be a round-the-clock saturation bombardment.

A video of rocket bombardment is available at the end of this article.

Nine days ago, al-Qaeda and Moslem Brüderbund affiliated gangs in east Damascus launched an offensive against Syrian forces in Harasta, isolating a key army base but failing to take it. Since then, the Syrian Army has moved major reinforcements into east Damascus and, over the last several days, has been in the midst of a counter-offensive aimed at retaking the entire district.

Palestinian militia to support Syrian offensive in South Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Paleostinian militia known as al-Quds Brigade is reportedly heading to the frontlines in South Idlib in order to support the rapidly advancing Syrian offensive against terrorist forces in the area.

The al-Quds Brigade, also known as Liwa al-Quds, is a predominantly Sunni Paleostinian armed militia force that is composed mostly of Paleostinians living in the al-Nayrab district of Aleppo and the Handarat camp. The Brigade played a dominant role during the Battle of Aleppo, where is was the single largest auxiliary force assisting the Syrian Arab Army in liberating the city.

By relocating to southern Idlib, the Paleostinian auxiliary force seeks to support the Syrian advances against Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS, formerly known as the al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front) and other rebel gangs. The armed forces of Syria have been making massive advances in Idlib in the past days, cutting a bloody path through the rebel positions.

It is expected that the al-Quds Brigade will be employed mostly in the safeguarding and defending of recently liberated towns, and the prevention of possible HTS counterattacks in the rear of the ongoing Syrian offensive.

CIA head says Trump 'completely fit' for office
[Ynet] CIA Director Mike Pompeo (pahm-PAY'-oh) gives President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
his regular intelligence briefings, and says Trump is full engaged, understands complex issues and asks difficult questions.

Pompeo tells "Fox News Sunday" that Trump is "completely fit" to be commander in chief and Pompeo says it's "ludicrous" that he's being asked such a question. But the issue has arisen as a result of a new book that's raising just that question.

The CIA chief says those kind of questions are coming from "people who just have not accepted the fact that President Trump is the United States president and I'm sorry for them and that."

Nigeria's SSS 'Arrest Cameroon's Separatist Leaders'
[All Africa] Nigerian authorities have placed in durance vile

leaders of a group leading a separatist movement in neighbouring Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
At least seven leaders of the Movement for the independence of Southern Cameroonians were arrested by the State Security Service on Friday in Abuja, several sources told PREMIUM TIMES.

The group leads a movement for an independent Ambazonia State, which seeks to break away from the domination of the French-speaking Cameroon.

Most leaders of the movement have since fled to neighbouring countries including Nigeria amidst a clampdown by the central government led by President Paul Biya.

The seven officials arrested include the leader of the group, Sisiku Tabe.

Others are Nfor Ngala Nfor, Fidelis Che, Henri Kimeng, Cornielius Kwanga, a professor identified as Awasum and a lawyer, Nalowa Bih.

They were arrested at Nera Hotel in Abuja.

"They were picked up yesterday by the SSS. They (SSS) came with guns and ammunitions to the hotel when they took them away. They arrived for a meeting of the high command of the leadership of the Ambazonia republic scheduled to hold at the hotel," our source said.

Trump cannot afford breaking off ties with Pakistan: NYT

cannot afford to walk away from Pakistain, which has often provided vital intelligence and has the world’s fastest-growing nuclear arsenal, a New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

article has warned, saying such a move on his part could be detrimental for America and pave way for even better Sino-Pak relations.

The article claims that Trump's aggressive and very globally audible admonition seems to indicate that he does not have a proper strategy in his plans.

"President Trump’s bombast and the precipitous way the decision seems to have been made have led to doubts that Mr. Trump has a serious plan for managing the ramifications of this move," the publication states.

"The president is good at venting grievances, as he demonstrated in his New Year’s Day tweet on the situation: "The United States has foolishly given Pakistain more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years," he wrote, "and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the hard boyz we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!" says the article.

Empowerment in action: On Eve Of Golden Globes, Hollywood Women Fear Backlash For Sexual Harassment & Sexual Assault Accusers
[Deadline] "Hollywood’s a boys’ town and they will do what they have to do to keep their power, even if that means paying lip service for a while to stamping out misogyny," the award-winning showrunner tells Deadline. "There are a lot of women staying quiet, worried that the boys are keeping a list for those who go public," she added. "It’ll happen later, under the radar, a lot of it will be unspoken even, but careers will be sidetracked, promotions blocked, I just know it. That’s always been the way this town has worked."

Whether that is the case, all four of the women asserted that while the recently formed Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund may provide access to attorneys, some protection, and even reciprocity, the fallout of speaking out about the wide-spread sexism will still be acrid. Announced at the beginning of the year, the Time’s Up initiative is backed by Anita Hill, lawyer Nina Shaw, Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman, Rashida Jones, Scandal’s Kerry Washington, CAA’s Maha Dakhil, Ashley Judd, Universal boss Donna Langley and around 291 more women.

Amer appears in the three-minute clip belly dancing and making provocative gestures. It shows her playing a downtrodden housewife complaining to her husband about his bossy mother.

Lawyer Ahmed Mahran, who filed a complaint with authorities over the video, said the clip contributed to "destroying morality and disseminating vice."

Egypt's musicians union cancelled Amer's membership and said in a statement that her video was "an insult to the Egyptian people," according to the state-run al-Ahram newspaper.

Last month, Shaimaa Ahmed, another female singer whose stage name is Shima, faced similar charges and was sentenced to two years in prison, which was reduced to one year on appeal.

In a statement quoted by Dijlah TV, the War Media Cell said, "All news circulated on social networking websites and media outlets about an Islamic State parade at al-Jazira area west of Mosul city is fabricated and misleading."

It also refuted claims about the emergence of Islamic State Lions of Islam again at some western villages in Mosul and the kidnapping and murdering of some residents there.

"Iraqi troops have totally cleared the country from terrorist groups and are now in full control of all Iraqi territories and borders," the statement read, adding that the country is now completely secure.

The War Media Cell also urged, in the statement, all media outlets to seek accuracy before publishing any news.

In July, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced liberation of the second largest Iraqi city of Mosul from IS bully boys, who had captured it in 2014.

More than 25000 Lions of Islam were killed throughout the campaign, which started in October 2016.

Economy
Trump keeps his promise: Blacks and Hispanics do better with him than Obama
[FOXNEWS] Democratic warnings that President Trump would make life worse for minorities were discredited once again Friday, with the release of new unemployment statistics for December. In just under one year in office, the president and the Republican Congress have helped minorities make dramatic gains.

Since taking the reins from President Obama, President Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress have embraced free-market and pro-liberty economic policies. Now ‐ after a year of reducing regulations, approving a tax cut, and encouraging stricter standards for numerous welfare programs at the state level ‐ the economy is thriving. Working-age minorities are benefitting in ways they have rarely, if ever, have enjoyed in the modern era.

The U.S. Labor Department reported Friday that the unemployment rate for African-Americans fell to 6.8 percent in December ‐ the lowest rate since recordkeeping began in 1972. That’s an astounding drop from the 8.3 percent black unemployment rate in October 2016, just before Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
was elected president.

Hispanic unemployment was at a near-record low of 4.9 percent in December ‐ down from 5.7 percent the month before the election of President Trump. Additionally, there were four months in 2017 in which the Hispanic seasonal unemployment fell below 5 percent ‐ the only time that has occurred in a single year over the past 44 years.

Asian-Americans, the demographic group that typically has the lowest unemployment rate, enjoyed a 2.5 percent unemployment rate in December ‐ the lowest figure since 2006.

The overall U.S. unemployment rate in December was 4.1 percent, matching the lowest level in 17 years ‐ down from 4.9 percent in October 2016.

[RADIOSHABELLE] Suspected al-Shabaab

murderous Moslems have destroyed a Safaricom communication mast in Kutulo, Wajir County, paralysing communication.

The incident is said to have happened sometime after 1 a.m. Sunday.

The same mast is said to have been destroyed some years back by the krazed killers.

In an interview with Nation, Wajir County Police Commander Stephen Ng’etich said a huge kaboom was heard when the unknown number of attackers went kaboom! a device forcing officers at the nearby station to scamper for safety since they were unaware of what was happening.

Shortly after, the officers returned and a shootout between them and the murderous Moslems ensued.

"Our officers engaged in a shootout with the murderous Moslems before they fled," said the commander.

He added that no officer was injured in the process.

"At first we were worried about the whereabouts of our officers since we had lost communication with them before sending a reinforcement team from Tarbaj and Kutulo who reported to us that all our officers were safe," he said.

The commander added that they suspect the murderous Moslems wanted to disrupt communication between Kutulo and El Wak in Mandera Town in order to give them an upper hand as they carry out their terrorist activities.

"We suspect that their aim was to disrupt communication between Kutulo and El Wak where they have been carrying out their terrorist activities," said Mr Ng’etich.

Mr Ng’etich said that they have sent reinforcements in the area and security officers are currently in pursuit of the krazed killers.

He called on the residents to share crucial information with the security agencies in order to help them in their fight against terror.

"All we can say is that the enemy is here with us and unless there is co-operation between residents, security agencies and all the players we are headed [for] tough times ahead," he said.

Grace Mugabe Faces Probe Over 'Fake' Degree - Report
[All Africa] Academics at the University of Zim-bob-we have petitioned the anti-corruption commission to investigate the "suspicious" way in which former first lady Grace Mugabe was awarded a doctorate four years ago.

The academics from the university's sociology department say they were "shocked" when Grace Mugabe emerged among the doctoral candidates in 2014.

"This was a shock to many members of the department as most members never (saw) or heard about the proposal, progress reports, thesis examiners and outcome of such a study by the candidate," reads part of the petition, quoted by the private Zim-bob-we Independent.

"The awarding of the degree has therefore not gone through processes that other candidates are subjected to which makes the awarding of the degree very suspicious," the petition adds.

Grace Mugabe was capped by her husband, then president Bob Muggsy Mugabe
Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case. Dumped in November 2017 when the Missus decided she wanted to be president, and opposed heer might against Crocodile Mnangawa Important safety tip: If your opponent goes by the name Crocodile andf your title is Shopper in Chief let him win....
, in August 2014 when he was still chancellor of the university. She appeared in the red academic gown and black cap for the doctorate of philosophy degree beside the then vice president, Joice Mujuru, who also received a doctorate.

Mujuru's doctoral thesis has subsequently been released into the public domain, but Grace's thesis has never been made available.

At the time Grace was reported to have enrolled for the doctorate just three months before it was awarded. Prominent graduates of the university, which has a distinguished track record, were outraged. The late Zim-bob-wean author, Chenjerai Hove at the time wrote to the university's vice chancellor, Levi Nyagura saying the university's decision to give a doctorate to Grace had reduced its degrees to "a laughing stock".

Houthi air defenses shoot down Saudi Tornado warplane over north Yemen
[ALMASDARNEWS] Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
rebels have shot down a Saudi warplane whilst it was conducting an attack over northern Yemen. The downed aircraft is of a Western European Cold War-era design.

Reports are emerging that a Panavia Tornado of the Saudi Royal Air Force has been shot down by Houthi air defenses whilst it was on a combat mission in the skies over Saada province in northern Yemen.

Initial reports of the aircraft downing did not clarify what kind of warplane had been shot out of the sky, leaving mystery as to whether it belonged to the Saudi or Emirati air forces.

However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
the identification of the aircraft as a Panavia Tornado means that it must belong to the Saudi Royal Air Force since it is the only regional air force to use such a warplane.

At the present time, the type of air defense weapon used by Houthi fighters has not been mentioned.

The Panavia Tornado is a joint British-West German-Italian strike fighter aircraft design originally entering service with Western European air forces in 1979.

Front). The blow came from a parked car that was apparently loaded with explosives and caused massive damage to the area.

The explosive car was parked right next to a training base for members of the Caucasus Emirate, an al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist organization originating from Chechnya that has been providing imported muscle for HTS for years.

Over 100 people are reported to have died in the enormous blast, which is considered one of the biggest kabooms to ever have it the war-plagued city of Idlib, while at least 100 more people have been injured. While many casualties are turbans of HTS and its affiliates, reports have it that also many civilians have been hit by the blast.

Iran bans English in primary schools after leader's warning
[GEO.TV] Iran has banned the teaching of English in primary schools, a senior education official said, after the country’s Supreme Leader said early learning of the language opened the way to a Western "cultural invasion".

"Teaching English in government and non-government primary schools in the official curriculum is against laws and regulations," Mehdi Navid-Adham, head of the state-run High Education Council, told state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
late on Saturday.

"This is because the assumption is that, in primary education, the groundwork for the Iranian culture of the students is laid," Navid-Adham said, adding that non-curriculum English classes may also be blocked.

The teaching of English usually starts in middle school in Iran, around the ages of 12 to 14, but some primary schools, below that age, also have English classes.

Some children also attend private language institutes after their school day.

And many children from more privileged families attending non-government schools receive English tuition from daycare through high school.

Iran’s Islamic leaders have often warned about the dangers of a "cultural invasion", and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei voiced outrage in 2016 over the "teaching of the English language spreading to nursery schools".

Surrendering jihadists turn over tanks, armed pickups to Syrian Army in rural west Damascus
[ALMASDARNEWS] Surrendered jihadist bandidos gunnies have turned over tanks, armed pickups and other weapons to the Syrian Arab Army as part of a greater reconciliation deal made almost two weeks ago in western Damascus province’s Beit Jinn valley region.

On Sunday, surrendered button men of the Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham
(formerly Jabhat al-Nusra

, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) terrorist group from the Beit Jinn valley region of western Damascus province turned over their medium and heavy weapons to the Syrian Arab Army at the town of Hina.

Two battle tanks, scores of armed pickups, heavy machine guns and shoulder-fired rocket launchers represented the bulk of the weapons to be surrendered. The now ex-bandidos gunnies will now be allowed to return to their normal lives.

The event was the third phase of a greater evacuation-reconciliation deal reached between the Syrian government and jihadist bandidos gunnies in the Beit Jinn valley region almost two week ago.

Prior to this, other bandidos gunnies from the region who did not want to reconcile with the government left the Beit Jinn region under the assured protection of the Syrian Arab Army towards rebel-held areas in the provinces of Daraa and Idlib.

Now only one more phase to the reconciliation deal remains to be fulfilled and this involves the Syrian Arab Army reopening the road that runs between the towns of Mazaraat Beit Jinn and Beit Jinn.

Ahmed Shafik pulls out of Egypt presidential race
[Al Jazeera] Ahmed Shafik, a former Egyptian prime minister, has said he will not stand for president in the country's upcoming presidential elections.

The 76-year-old had previously announced his plan to run in an exclusive video message to Al Jazeera.

"I saw that I will not be the ideal person to lead the state during the coming period," a statement posted on Shafik's Twitter account read on Sunday.

"Thus I have decided not to run in the upcoming 2018 presidential elections."

Shafik was seen as one of the few people who could potentially challenge President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in the election, scheduled to take place in March.

India-Pakistan
US weighs Pakistani blowback as it piles pressure on Islamabad
[GEO.TV] The United States is examining ways to mitigate any Pak retaliation as it piles pressure on Islamabad to crack down on holy warriors, a senior US official said on Friday, cautioning that US action could extend beyond a new freeze in aid.

Pakistain is a crucial gateway for US military supplies destined for US and other troops fighting a 16-year-old war in neighboring, landlocked Afghanistan.

So far, the Pentagon says Pakistain has not given any indication that it would close its airspace or roads to military supplies and US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis played down concerns on Friday.

But Washington has only just begun to work through its new plan to suspend up to roughly $2 billion in US security assistance, announced on Thursday. It came days after U.S. President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
tweeted that Pakistain had rewarded past US aid with "nothing but lies and deceit."

The senior Trump administration official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Washington hoped that the aid suspension would be enough to communicate its concern to Islamabad.

But the official cautioned that the freeze was also not the only tool that America had to pressure the country -- suggesting it might resort to other measures, if needed.

"We are considering many different things, not just the (financial) assistance issue," the official said.

"We are also looking at Pakistain’s potential response ... and we are looking at ways to deal with that and to mitigate the risks to the relationship."

The official declined to detail what steps were under consideration, including whether that might include possible unilateral U.S. military action against murderous Moslems in Pakistain.

Russian air force bombs rebels 30 times in one day
[ALMASDARNEWS] Sunday has turned out to be a very active day for the Russian aerial support to Syria, as the air force carried out over 30 sorties against murderous Moslem positions in South Idlib and North Hama.

The constant bombing runs against positions held by al-Qaeda linked group Hayyat Tahrir al-Sham
(HTS, formerly Al-Nusra Front) have effectively destroyed the terrorist organization’s capacity to respond to a massive offensive mounted by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) during the past days, which resulted in a massive liberation of territory in the southern Idlib Governorate.

Iran Guards say quell unrest fomented by foreign enemies
[REUTERS] Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Sunday the country’s people and security forces had put an end to unrest fomented by foreign enemies, as parliament and security officials met to discuss the boldest challenge to the holy manal establishment since 2009.

There has been more than a week of unrest in Iran in which 22 people have died and more than 1,000 placed in durance vile
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
, according to Iranian officials. The protests spread to more than 80 cities and rural towns as thousands of young and working-class Iranians expressed their anger at graft, unemployment and a deepening gap between rich and poor.

Residents contacted by Rooters in various cities have said the protests had subsided after the government intensified a crackdown by dispatching Revolutionary Guards forces to several provinces.

"Iran’s revolutionary people along with tens of thousands of Basij forces, police and the Intelligence Ministry have broken down the chain (of unrest)," the Guards said in a statement on their Sepahnews website. The Guards said the unrest had been "created ... by the United States, Britannia, the Zionist regime (Israel), Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, the hypocrites (Mujahideen) and monarchists."

Parliament met on Sunday to discuss the week of unrest with the ministers of interior and intelligence, Iran’s police chief and the deputy commander of the elite Revolutionary Guards, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said.

Late on Saturday, videos on social media showed a heavy police presence in cities, including Khorramabad in southwestern Iran where on Wednesday evening social media posts showed protesters throwing stones at riot police.

As protests have ebbed, the government has lifted restrictions it imposed on Instagram, one of the social media tools used to mobilize protesters. But access to a more widely used messaging app, Telegram, was still blocked, suggesting authorities remained uneasy about the possibility of further protests.

BDS activists complain of harassment by Israeli students
[Ynet] Israeli anti-BDS student volunteers see success after BDS Facebook group uploads plea for donations 'in light of pro-Israel students trolling, harassing, disrupting their events and activities.'

The official group for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to vilify and isolate Israel internationally, uploaded a Facebook post this week urging their supporters to donate money because, "Israeli students are disturbing our activities by using an app and through social networking sites."

The disturbance BDS leaders complained about was Act.il, launched three years ago as an initiative by students of the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC) as a response to the rise in anti-Israel sentiments on social networking sites, especially after the IDF's military campaigns of Operation Pillar of Defense in 2012 and Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

More than 1,000 students, most of them at IDC, volunteer and use the platform to respond to what they see as anti-Israel slander on the web. IDC students hail from dozens of countries, enabling them to respond to online defamation in some 35 languages.

About six months ago, Act.il released a mobile app that was downloaded by thousands of people around the world and significantly widened its circle of activists.

The post on the BDS page continued, "They disrupted an internet event attended by senior BDS figures and they are paid trolls, racists, inciters and Islamophobes and they are spreading anti-Paleostinian propaganda."

The post was received with glee among pro-Israel activists. "This post is a certificate of honor for our volunteers," said Yarden Ben Yosef, the administrator of Act.il. "If we have reached a point in which they are anxious about us and are using us to ask for donations, apparently we are doing a good job."

Israel bars BDS activists from entering country
More on BDS, Israel recently published a list of 20 organizations from around the globe whose members are banned from entering the country for advocating boycotts of Israel over the Paleostinian issue.

Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan said Sunday that the groups blacklisted are the main ones who "operate consistently and continuously" against Israel using a "campaign of incitement and lies."

It is not clear how the ban will be enforced, but it could affect thousands of people.

Among the groups is the US-based Jewish Voice for Peace, which counts more than 13,000 members. Groups from La Belle France, Chile and South Africa are also among those banned.
In addition to quoting the spokespersons of several banned organizations waxing indignant, the Times of Israel adds:
In March 2017, the Knesset amended the Law of Entry to prevent leaders of the BDS movement from being allowed into Israel. The amendment applies to organizations that take consistent and significant action against Israel through BDS, as well as the leadership and senior activists of those groups.

Mexico's Trumpian populist could mean trouble for Donald Trump
[POLITICO] If the left-leaning nationalist wins Mexico's presidency, it could boost tensions over immigration, trade and border security.

MEXICO CITY — Andrés Manuel López Obrador's campaign rhetoric can make him sound like a Mexican Donald Trump.

The left-leaning front-runner in Mexico’s presidential race is overtly nationalistic, pushes “Mexican people first” policies and peppers his speeches with anti-establishment slogans that thrill the working-class Mexicans who flock to his rallies.

But while his style might be distinctly Trumpian, his policy prescriptions could not be more different. Indeed, the election of the former mayor of Mexico City could be disastrous for Trump and his administration, creating an even more charged relationship between the two countries that could reduce cooperation on border security, trade and immigration.

Canadian Media Publishes Video of Nigerian Migrants 'Running Away' From Trump's America
[All Africa] A video has surfaced online showing Nigerian migrants colonists making efforts to enter Canada illegally from the U.S. border.

The two countries share an international border.

The video was published in September 2017 by a Canadian media, CBC News.

The migrants colonists, inside a Greyhound bus, are seen in the video arriving a filling station which also serves as a bus stop at Plattsburgh, New York, just before dawn.

From there, they took taxis to the border between the U.S and Canada, where they would cross by foot illegally into Quebec, Canada.

The taxis stopped at a road end. And the migrants colonists, about 12 of them, got down were they were confronted by Canadian police officials.

"This is not a legal point of entry," an officer said to the migrants colonists standing a few metres away from the blocked border. "This is an illegal point."

"Yes, we know," the migrants colonists chorused.

The voice-over the video says "The RCMP (referring to the Canadian police officer) is obligated to tell them with one step across they will be tossed in the clink
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
"But still if they can slip into Canada they will be considered for asylum status. And that flicker of hope is enough for desperate people."

One man among the migrants colonists told the police officer that they believed Canada could help solve their problem and that was why they were desperate to enter the North American country illegally.

"We don't have any other choice," the man said.

And the others concurred: "We don't have any other place to go back to. Our mind is made up, that's why we want to come into Canada."

The voice-over the video continued: "This is a mock standoff, really. Almost no one who comes here turns away."

One of the migrants colonists, identified as Lilian, is interviewed in the video.

She said she learnt about the illegal crossing from a report on television and had to read it up on Google.

Ms. Lilian, with her child strapped on her back, said Canada "has a future for the children and for everybody.

"I want to take the risk because I know there's a future here for me and my baby."

Ms. Lilian said her son is a U.S citizen but that she didn't want to stay in the U.S "because Donald Trump

According to NewsDay, the move was in line with the country's one farm per family policy.

"Minister Shiri has ordered, through our directors, that we compile a full list of the former first family's farms and we are already doing it," a source in the lands department told the paper.

The Mugabes were understood to own at least 14 game reserves frequented by wealthy western golfers and safari goers farms totalling around 16 000 hectares, the report said.

It had been thought that the former first family - particularly Mugabe - would escape probes by the new government.

Last week, the Zim-bob-wean government laid out in an official notice, Mugabe's benefits after he was forced to resign last month.

First class air travel on four foreign trips per year; private houses and a veritable army of aides and domestic staff, were some of the nonagenarian's benefits.

murderous Moslems have launched an attack against Somali military outpost in the outskirts of Bal’ad district in Middle Shabelle region on Sunday.

The assault began with heavy shelling on the army base in Golgoley locality, leading to an exchange of gunfire which raged on about an hour, according to the local residents.

The army has repelled the attack and pushed back the murderous Moslems during the confrontation. It was immediately unclear the exact number of the casualty figures on both sides.

Al-Shabaab has intensified its ambush attacks on Somali and AU forces in southern Somalia, in an attempt to outs the UN-backed Federal government in Mogadishu.

Federal Investigators Couldn't Illegally Buy Guns Through Legitimate Websites Despite 72 Attempts
[FreeBeacon] Federal agents posing as criminals were unable to purchase any firearms from legitimate online marketplaces despite dozens of attempts over a two-year period.

Between July 2015 and November 2017 investigators from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), following up on a congressional request, tried to make the illegal private gun purchases through a number of online forums and market places. They made 72 attempts over that time but couldn't complete a single sale using legitimate sites.

In 29 attempts the gun sellers refused the sale after being asked to illegally ship the gun to the buyer. Twenty-seven sellers refused after being told the potential buyer was a felon, domestic abuser, or otherwise prohibited from buying a firearm. Eleven sellers attempted to scam the investigators after finding out they were prohibited from buying firearms with two successfully obtaining money from investigators but never sending the promised firearm. Another five attempts to illegally purchase firearms were ended when the investigators' accounts were shut down due to suspicious activity.

"Tests performed on the Surface Web demonstrated that private sellers GAO contacted on gun forums and other classified ads were unwilling to sell a firearm to an individual who appeared to be prohibited from possessing a firearm," Seto J. Bagdoyan and Wayne McElrath of the GAO's Forensic Audits and Investigative Service section said in a report on the investigation released in November.

The investigation specifically targeted online sales by private sellers who do not have a federal firearms license and, in most states, aren't required to perform background checks on potential buyers. The investigators wanted to see if private sellers on otherwise legitimate online gun forums and marketplaces would break federal law by knowingly selling firearms to somebody who isn't allowed to buy them.

"The purpose of our Surface Web purchase attempts was to determine whether private sellers would knowingly sell a firearm to an individual prohibited from possessing one, as outlined by the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA)," Bagdoyan and McElrath said in their report. "Our agents used one of five scenarios based on a provision of the GCA when attempting to purchase a firearm. The scenarios involved overtly explaining why our agent was prohibited from possessing a firearm."

The investigators targeted websites based on whether they hosted nationwide or regional ads, the number of ads they could find, the variety of guns available on the site, how easy it was to access the site, and input from outside organizations like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

"To perform Surface Web testing, our agents accessed public gun forums and other classified ads where private nonlicensed sellers listed firearms for sale," the report said. "These forums and classified ads were identified from our meetings with ATF and third-party entities, and a review of available documentation."

The GAO had originally planned to conduct 75 attempts at illegal purchases on otherwise legitimate sites but gave up after 72 straight failures.

The investigation, first highlighted by the Daily Beast’s Lachlan Markay, had better luck on a collection of websites known for criminal trafficking the GAO refers to as the "Dark Web." Investigators were able to make two gun purchases in seven attempts through the online havens for illegal activity.

"Our agents successfully purchased two firearms from sellers we located on a Dark Web marketplace as a result of seven total attempts," the report said. "ATF officials stated that the Dark Web is completely anonymous and is designed to facilitate criminal activity online."

The GAO was able to purchase one semi-automatic AR-15 from a Dark Web seller and one Uzi that was advertised as being capable of automatic fire. The agency said it forwarded information about the likely-illegal sales to appropriate law enforcement agencies for follow up.

DC Press Corps KNEW For a FULL YEAR Hillary Clinton Was Behind Russia Dossier – HID IT FROM PUBLIC
[GatewayPundit] The DC press corps and prominent Washington journalists knew Hillary Clinton paid for the dossier as early as September of 2016 yet they suppressed the information and acted as if the salacious document was legit intel.

The liberal mainstream media WITHHELD THIS FROM THE AMERICAN PUBLIC FOR A YEAR!

This is why Americans loathe the mainstream media.

They are nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democrats and Deep State hacks.

Paul Sperry of The New York Post said an ex-Trump campaign advisor told him prominent DC journalists admitted to him DURING the campaign they KNEW Hillary Clinton was behind the Russia dossier yet they continued to report as if the salacious document was legit intelligence!

Sperry tweeted:

"Sperry: "BREAKING: ex-Trump campaign adviser says prominent Washington journalists told him DURING CAMPAIGN (early as Sept 2016) they KNEW Hillary Clinton was behind the anti-Trump dossier, and yet they SAT ON that critical information for a FULL YEAR & acted as if dossier was legit intel"

Paul Sperry then reported:

"Sperry: "BREAKING NEWS: DC press corps suppressed for full year the fact that Clinton campaign paid for the anti-Trump Russia dossier. Journalists knew Clinton behind dossier as early as September 2016 & kept mum, reporting dossier’s allegations as if they were legitimate intelligence!"

THEY ALL KNEW..
They knew and they ALL LIED to the American public.

Shortly after the Washington Post published their bombshell in mid-October revealing Hillary Clinton’s camp paid for the dossier, prominent New York Times reporters came forward claiming they were lied to by Hillary’s people.

The New York Times was onto this scoop as well. Apparently when NY Time reporter, Kenneth Vogel questioned Clinton’s campaign lawyer, Marc Elias, he pushed back "vigorously" saying his sources were wrong.

NY Times reporter Kenneth Vogel tweeted, "When I tried to report this story, Clinton campaign lawyer @marceelias pushed back vigorously, saying "You (or your sources) are wrong."

White House Correspondent for the New York Times, Maggie Haberman also blasted the lying Democrats over the debunked dossier when she tweeted, "Folks involved in funding this lied about it, and with sanctimony, for a year"

It was a rare moment of honesty by Ms. Haberman.

At the end of October, Hillary Clinton claimed she didn’t know about the Russia dossier (that her campaign actually paid for) until after Buzzfeed published the 35-page document in January of 2017.

Of course Hillary Clinton knew about the dossier. The salacious document was a failed ’October surprise’.

Tsvangirai Terminally Ill, Claims Moyo
[All Africa] FORMER Higher and Tertiary Education minister Jonathan Moyo has torched a storm after claiming opposition MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai is terminally ill and was taken advantage of by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Tsvangirai, two years ago, went public and announced that he was suffering from colon cancer. Since then, he has been in and out of hospital in neighbouring South Africa.

Mnangagwa paid Tsvangirai a surprise visit on one of the most poignant moments in his two months old regime following his take over from former President Bob Muggsy Mugabe
Nonagenarian President-for-Life of Zim-bob-we who turned the former Breadbasket of Africa into the African Basket Case. Dumped in November 2017 when the Missus decided she wanted to be president, and opposed heer might against Crocodile Mnangawa Important safety tip: If your opponent goes by the name Crocodile andf your title is Shopper in Chief let him win....
on the back of a military coup in November.

But Moyo, one of the biggest casualties of the military coup and now said to be holed up in Kenya after reportedly escaping death by a whisker said Mnangagwa's visit was unAfrican.

"There is no public relations coup and no history. It is ambulance chasing propaganda for the optics of exploiting a terminally ill political rival. The propaganda is cynical, crude, desperate and unAfrican.

Europe
Danes Consider Mandatory Curfew for Youths in Migrant Populated Ghettos
[BREITBART] The populist Danish People’s Party (DF) has suggested the government consider a mandatory curfew for under 18s in migrant ghetto areas in order to prevent disorder and delinquency.

The DF has proposed that all children below the age of 18 living in the ghetto areas should be required to be off the streets no later than 8 pm every night. DF MP Martin Henriksen argued that children should not be allowed outside on their own in areas that were prone to criminality, both for their own safety and to make sure they do not get caught up in criminality themselves, Jylland Posten reports.

"Young people, for example, 10, 11 or 12 years old, should not run around in the late evening hours if they live in an area where there is crime and insecurity," Henriksen said.

"It is important that they are at home with their family instead of being out with criminal elements that can affect them in a negative direction," he added.

The suggestion comes after Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen announced last week that he would be looking at real measures to tackle the problems surrounding the migrant populated ghetto areas, like knocking down older apartment complexes and moving people to different areas.

CIA chief denies agency role in Iran unrest, predicts new violence
[GEO.TV] WASHINGTON: The head of the CIA on Sunday denied his agency had any role in fomenting the recent anti-government protests in Iran but predicted the violent unrest "is not behind us."

Mike Pompeo, named a year ago by President Donald Trump to head the intelligence agency, told Fox News Sunday that economic conditions in Iran "are not good."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinians fear US aid threat would trigger humanitarian, security disaster
[ARABNEWS] The US risks triggering a security crisis in the Arab world if it follows through with threats to suspend funding to Paleostinian refugees, according to a Paleostine Liberation Organizaton (PLO) official.

It comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called for the closure of the UN agency for Paleostinian refugees, just days after US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
threatened to cut financial assistance.

"Thousands" of children and teenagers would be left without access to education should the US withhold funding to the UN Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) for Paleostinian Refugees, cautioned Kanaan al-Jamal, who oversees the UNRWA portfolio for the PLO in Ramallah.

"There are lots of terrorist groups targeting those teenagers," al-Jamal told Arab News. "This will affect national security for everyone, not just the Paleostinians."

Israel has been a long-standing critic of UNRWA.

"UNRWA is an organization that perpetuates the Paleostinian refugee problem," Netanyahu said at his Cabinet meeting on Sunday.

He said that millions of other refugees were covered by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and questioned why Paleostinians should have their own body.

"This absurd situation must be ended," Netanyahu said.

Trump has threatened to cut "massive future payments" to the Paleostinians who he blames for stalling peace talks with Israel.

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley
...Trump administration's ambassador to the UN. First woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country, after Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. At the age of 39, Haley was the youngest governor in the U.S., a distinction formerly held by Jindal. She is a Republican, which really grates on the Dems...
doubled down on the threat earlier this week: "The President has basically said he doesn’t want to give any additional funding, or stop funding, until the Paleostinians agree to come back to the negotiation table," she told news hounds in response to a question about funding for UNRWA.

Syrian army breaks rebel siege of key East Damascus military base
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has succesfully broken the siege of the armoured vehicle military base in Harasta, East Damascus.

Units from the elite 4th Armoured Division of the Syrian army broke through the defensive lines of the rebel forces on Sunday and entered the Harasta vehicle base from the west. Earlier that day, the 4th Division had taken over the mill factory building overlooking the base, which allowed for the successful final push.

Immediately after securing the western edge of the base, the Syrian forces set up a corridor for the supply of food, medicine and military supplies to the soldiers inside the base, who had been cut off from the outside for days.

Currently, military operations are still going on in order to fully secure the base from all sides and to prevent a rebel counterattack.
