NYT Reveals FBI Deep State Enforcers Retaliated Against Trump For Comey Firing
[The Federalist] n a Friday night news dump, the New York Times revealed the FBI’s surprisingly flimsy justification for launching a retaliatory investigation into President Donald Trump, their chief adversary during their recent troubled era.

Admitting there is no actual evidence for their probe into whether Trump "worked for the Russians," FBI officials instead cited their foreign policy differences with him, his lawful firing of bungling FBI Director James Comey, and alarm that he accurately revealed to the American public that he was told he wasn’t under investigation by the FBI, when they preferred to hide that fact.

The news was treated as a bombshell, and it was, but not for the reasons many thought. It wasn’t news that the FBI had launched the investigation. Just last month, CNN reported that top FBI officials opened an investigation into Trump after the lawful firing of Comey because Trump "needed to be reined in," a shocking admission of abuse of power by our nation’s top law enforcement agency.

The Washington Post reported Mueller was looking into whether Trump obstructed the Russia investigation by insisting he was innocent of the outlandish charges selectively leaked by government officials to compliant media. Perhaps because such an obstruction investigation was immediately condemned as scandalous political overreach, that aspect was downplayed while Mueller engaged in a limitless "Russia" probe that has rung up countless Trump affiliates for process crimes unrelated to treasonous collusion with Russia to steal the 2016 election, and spun off various investigations having nothing to do with Russia in any way.

The latest Times report does provide more detail than these earlier reports, however, and none of it makes the FBI look good. In fact, it provides evidence of a usurpation of constitutional authority to determine foreign policy that belongs not with a politically unaccountable FBI but with the citizens’ elected president. More on that in a bit.

Finland: Government Collapses Over Universal Health Care Costs, #Bernie2020 Hardest Hit
[LegalInsurrection] Finland has long been touted by American socialists as the socialist Nirvana, where everything is free and everyone is happy, happy, happy. Sadly, fiscal reality hit Finland's government as it collapsed Friday due to the rising costs of its universal health care.

The warning signs were on the wall last spring when Finland, as Leslie noted, ended its experiment with "universal basic income."

Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who has been hanging his socialist mantle on the "success" of Finland's socialist structure, may be the hardest hit.

The Washington Free Beacon reports:

The government of Finland collapsed Friday due to the rising cost of universal health care and the prime minister's failure to enact reforms to the system.

Prime Minister Juha Sipila and the rest of the cabinet resigned after the governing coalition failed to pass reforms in parliament to the country's regional government and health services, the Wall Street Journal reports. Finland faces an aging population, with around 26 percent of its citizens expected to be over 65 by the year 2030, an increase of 5 percent from today.
Social programs are always shell games. As long as the population is young and productive, it can limp along. Once your population ages... you are fucked
It's not just Finland experiencing such problems with its socialist policies. Other Nordic countries, also touted by American socialists and communists as the model America should follow, are suffering similar economic burdens directly related to their socialist policies.

The Washington Free Beacon continues:

Reuters reports that soaring treatment costs and longer life spans have particularly affected Nordic countries.

"Nordic countries, where comprehensive welfare is the cornerstone of the social model, have been among the most affected," according to Reuters. "But reform has been controversial and, in Finland, plans to cut costs and boost efficiency have stalled for years."

Similar problems are bedeviling Sweden and Denmark, two other countries frequently held up as models to follow on health care. Finland's crisis in particular comes as calls for universal health care have grown louder among Democrats in the United States.
They want theirs and yours before the US breaks apart.
Just a few days before Finland's government collapsed over its inability to foot the bill for its expansive socialist experiment, Sanders took to Twitter in an attempt to shame America.

In the United States it costs, on average, $12,000 to have a baby. In Finland it costs $60. We've got to end the disgrace of our profit-driven health care system and pass Medicare for all.

#1  hospitals pad the bill of people with heavy health insurance to compensate for having to treat people with little or no health insurance (e.g., illegal aliens).

the hospitals are also paying for very expensive equipment that is almost never used, specialists on call who are almost never consulted, etc.

the markup on ordinary products are astounding also, a single aspirin or one diaper gets billed at $10 sometimes

Oregon's Reed College RA training guide: ‘Make America Great Again' example of white supremacy
[The College Fix] A white supremacy pyramid graphic recently used at a training seminar for Reed College housing assistants states the term "Make America Great Again" is covert white supremacy.

In an effort to discuss diversity, the student employees who help oversee dorm life were briefly trained using a pyramid that identifies various forms of white supremacy broken into two categories, "overt white supremacy," which is labeled as "socially unacceptable," and "covert white supremacy" labeled as "socially acceptable."

"Make America Great Again" is listed as covert white supremacy.

Other forms of socially acceptable covert white supremacy, according to the pyramid, include celebrating Columbus Day, police murdering people of color, denial of white privilege, Confederate flags, mass incarceration, Eurocentric curriculums, racial profiling and colorblindness.Kevin Myers, a spokesman for the Portland-based private liberal arts college, said the pyramid is only meant as a conversation starter for the training.

“It’s provocative, and that was the intention, was to present the RAs with something provocative and spur a conversation about the difference between implicit bias versus explicit bias,” he said.

“This is a way to provoke discussion about what people think is acceptable or unacceptable. It’s actually about tolerance, not about intolerance,” Myers told The College Fix.

The pyramid itself was not something created by staff at Reed, rather downloaded off of the internet by the college’s Office for Inclusive Community, he said. Myers said the pyramid was used for only about three minutes in an hour-long training session in January.

Caribbean-Latin America
Here’s why Venezuela’s partial blackouts are unfortunately likely to persist for a while
[Anatoly Kurmanaev at Thread Reader] This is Venezuela’s main power distribution hub, the San Geronimo B substation outside Valle de la Pascua on Sunday. It was shut since Thursday. A cow roamed among transformers. No buzz from current. Workers said most of them were sent home indefinitely Friday.

San Geronimo B is the only path for high-voltage (765 KV) supplies from Guri to 80% of Venezuelan population (Caracas, Central & Western Venezuela)

The nearby San Geronimo A back up substation transmits much weaker 400 current from Macagua hydro plant near Guri to Caracas vía Santa Teresa. It’s been working on & off last 2 days. This, together with some limited thermal, is what’s been keeping intermittent light in Caracas.

Corpoelec current, former employees & power expert @SoyJoseAguilar said this is unsustainable. The 400 KV line is too weak. Caracas outgrew is capacity already in early 80s when it launched Metro.
Is it possible to provide stable supply to the country without San Geronimo B? “Impossible,” said @SoyJoseAguilar
The La Horqueta substation in Villa de Cura, which sends Guri’s power to Valencia and onwards west via San Geronimo was also down Sunday. This is very bad news for Western Venezuela. They are last in line.
Emphasis added.

Britain
War horse grave to be protected after land assigned for housing
[H&H] Promises have been made that the grave of a famous war horse will be protected following news that the land the grave is located in is set to be redeveloped.

The grave of ’Blackie the war horse’, an equine hero who fought and survived the battles of the First World War, was given grade II listed status, which protected the site at the RSPCA centre in Halewood, Liverpool, in 2017. The charity has since announced the centre is set to close at the end of May.

Blackie served at the battles of Arras, Somme, Ypres and Cambrai before returning to Britain where he lived into his late 30s. His was the first war horse grave to be granted heritage protection by Historic England after a member of the public contacted them with concerns that it was threatened by proposed building work.

A spokesman for the RSPCA said the decision to close the centre was made because Knowsley Council had "redesignated the land" for residential development.

But the council said the charity made the decision to close the branch due to financial reasons.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Woman seriously injured after being attacked by bull in New Jersey
SPARTA, New Jersey (WABC) -- A bull attacked its owner in New Jersey Friday afternoon, sending the woman to the hospital with lacerations and bruises.

Sparta Dispatch received several calls of a cow in the roadway on Houses Corner Road around 3 p.m., along with reports that the animal was approaching vehicles.

"I saw this young bull, and many cars pulled over were trying to protect him," said one neighbor who didn't want to be identified. "He was very calm. People were petting him on his head...I had cereal in my car, believe it or not, and I fed him out of the passenger side window."

While Officer Arlene Lippencott was en route, authorities received further information from the owner, identified as Wendy McDermott. She told police the animal was actually a bull that had been acting in a highly aggressive manner lately.

McDermott advised that she would attempt to coax the bull back into its enclosure with food.

Sacrilege: Ocasio-Cortez Seen Signing Economic Textbooks
[Babylon Bee] AUSTIN, TX‐While attending a special SXSW filled with many affluent haters of capitalism, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was filmed while signing several economics textbooks, a gesture that was offensive to many.

"Someone so hostile to math putting her name on such a book just seems like a mockery of everything economics stands for," said economics professor Esther Summers. "To people who believe fervently in things like supply and demand and free markets, this is a real slap in the face."

"She has expressed nothing but contempt for all the luxuries and other gains of our capitalist system," stated pundit Richard Larson. "This is extremely offensive to the billions of people lifted out of poverty by capitalism this past century."

Ocasio-Cortez seemed unfazed by the controversy. "Yay! I like writing my name!" she told reporters. "Though sometimes I have to google how to spell it since it’s kinda long."

Europe
Viktor Orbán: 'Hungary is a Christian country and not a place for multiculturalism'
[VOE] In an interview in a book published by French politician and essayist Philippe de Villiers, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán says there is no place for multiculturalism in Hungary.

"What outrages our opponents the most is the fact that in our Constitution we have written that Hungary has Christian roots, that here there is no place for multiculturalism, that a child has the right to a mother and a father, and that our nation has the right to defend its borders."

Orbán stated that the Hungarian people have long-standing traditions of resistance to "limited sovereignty": "First there were the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire, then the khans of the vast Mongol Empire, followed by the sultans of the Ottoman Empire; and then the Soviet comrades and their tanks.

All of them wanted to put an end to Hungary", he said, "but mysteriously the Hungarian people have survived in a boundless sea of Germans and Slavs."

Asked if he is concerned today about the danger of national dissolution, Orbán said that he sees disintegration of the EU as a greater danger, with a line dividing Europe into two parts ‐ one which is becoming Islamised, and one which does not want to become Islamised.

He outlined the choices thus: "If they leave us alone and do not force Islamisation upon us, Europe can live on as a club of free nations. If, however, they force us to accept the UN’s migration compact or the decisions of the European Commission, thereby aligning us with their permissive Western policy, disintegration cannot be ruled out."

The Prime Minister continued: "For us the accusation that we are not fully European is a cruel joke. When after half a century of Soviet occupation and communist oppression we finally regained our freedom, when the West opened its arms to embrace us, we thought we had returned to our own kind ‐ a family of free nations resting on the pillars of Christian culture, national identity and human dignity."

"Not even in our worst nightmares did we think that, twenty-nine years after our enchained nations gained freedom and the continent reunited, Europe would again be vulnerable to imperial ambitions ‐ those which this time do not originate outside its borders, but within them."

He added that Europe is not a melting pot, but the home of nations.

Rep. Omar: I Wouldn't Equate Trump And Obama Because Trump Is Not Human
[Hot Air] Isn’t it great that the Democrats passed that resolution about hate last week? You can see what a salutary effect it is having on Rep. Omar. Seriously though, the good news is that she didn’t make any comments about Jews. The bad news is that she’s broadened her rhetorical style to literally dehumanizing her political opponents, which doesn’t seem like a huge improvement. Here she is clarifying her comments comparing former President Obama to President Trump saying, "That is silly to even think and equate the two." She continued, "One is human; the other is really not."

#1  Although the Koran says that Christians received the same punishment, throughout history the term “apes and swine” has largely been reserved for Jews, in both Shiite and Sunni traditions, from the founding of Islam nearly fourteen hundred years ago to today.[1]

The Saudi sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Sudais, imam at the Grand Mosque in Mecca (Masjid al-Haram) called Jews pigs and monkeys. He also preached that Jews are “the scum of the human race, the rats of the world, the violators of pacts and agreements, the murderers of the prophets, and the offspring of apes and pigs.” [2]

[Washington Examiner] Federal law enforcement officers assigned to the Port of New York and New Jersey in Newark, N.J., made the largest discovery of cocaine in nearly 25 years last month when they found $77 million worth of cocaine inside a shipment container that had just arrived from overseas.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Monday that approximately 3,200 pounds of cocaine was found in the large container on Feb. 28.

"This is a significant seizure, in fact it is the largest cocaine seizure at the Port of New York/Newark since May 1994," Troy Miller, director for Customs and Border Protection's New York Field Operations, said in a statement.

When there are no more stories about people dying from drug overdose and gang bangers are no longer shooting each other then it might be safe to speculate that the flow has been disrupted.

POTUS World Bank appointee to ferret out longstanding thievery and deception
[Washington Examiner] President Trump has chosen David Malpass to lead the World Bank for the next five years. Malpass currently serves as the undersecretary of the Treasury for international affairs. He has been a critic of the World Bank in the past, and as such his nomination has generated controversy.

Malpass’ doubts about the effectiveness of the World Bank makes this a good time to revisit how it intentionally overstated world poverty in order to get more money from American taxpayers, then fired the employee who wouldn’t play along with the scam.

This situation has cost American taxpayers about $2 billion each year for most of the last decade. And we only know about it because of a whistleblower at the World Bank named Dr. Yonas Biru, an outstanding Ethiopian economist whom I represent, who was fired for failing to play along and insisting upon telling the truth.

‘It Was Pretty Scary': Hordes Of Vultures Taking Over South Jersey Town
MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (CBS) ‐ Menacing-looking vultures are taking over a town in South Jersey and residents want them to buzz off. Hordes of vultures have been hanging around in Mount Holly. ABC TV's senior national correspondent predicts 'reckoning for progressives, Democrats ... and media' if Mueller finds no Russia collusion
[American Thinker] The Democrats, the Deep State, and their media allies placed an enormous bet on the bespoke fantasy concocted by Fusion GPS that Donald Trump stole the 2016 election with the assistance of Russia. Now, like a poker player trying to fill an inside straight, they are concerned that the big pot they created with all that attention focused on the allegation might be lost. The many signals that the Mueller investigation soon will be public and has no evidence at all of collusion have got a lot of people worried.

Will the mainstream media be able to avoid responsibility for peddling a fantasy?

ABC TV's senior national correspondent Terry Moran, appearing on his network's Sunday morning political show This Week, predicted just such a "reckoning":

And a few hours later, REP Adam Schiff, who has been one of the biggest boosters for going after the President, said bluntly that impeachment was a bad idea as long as the GOP held the Senate.

The comments and their proximity to one another was no accident. They've either actually seen the report (which wouldn't be surprising) or they've gotten a summary (more likely)...and it says there's nothing there. The media will cover for them - or flatly ignore it, which is effectively the same thing - but they're going to take a hit, especially as DJT ain't gonna let 'em forget it...

U.S. says to withdraw all remaining diplomatic personnel from Venezuela
(Reuters) - The United States is to withdraw all remaining diplomatic personnel from Venezuela this week, the U.S. State Department announced late on Thursday.

"Like the January 24 decision to withdraw all dependents and reduce embassy staff to a minimum, this decision reflects the deteriorating situation in Venezuela as well as the conclusion that the presence of U.S. diplomatic staff at the embassy has become a constraint on U.S. policy," the State Department said.

It did not say on what day the personnel would be withdrawn from the embassy in Caracas.

The South American nation has been in the throes of political unrest for months over its contested presidential election.

Venezuela is suspending school and business activities on Tuesday amid a continuing power blackout, Information Minister Jorge Rodriguez said in a televised broadcast on Monday.

It is the third such cancellation since power went out last week.

Runaway IS teen's mum asks for 'mercy' from UK

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group in Syria urged the UK government on Monday to reinstate the teenager's British citizenship after she lost her third child.

A lawyer representing Shamima Begum's family wrote to interior minister Sajid Javid, pleading with him to reverse his February 19 decision to strip her of her British citizenship "as an act of mercy".

Begum, now 19, had asked to return home after giving birth to a son last month in a refugee camp in northeastern Syria, but London refused. The three-week-old baby, Jarrah, has since died from pneumonia.

She has told British media that her two other children died in infancy in Syria.

Begum's fate has sparked heated debate in Britannia, which like other countries is facing a dilemma over whether to allow jihadists and IS sympathisers home to face prosecution, or stop them from returning at all.

She was 15 when she left east London for Syria with two other schoolgirls in 2015.

She was found by journalists in a refugee camp after fleeing fighting between the jihadist group and US-backed forces.

She is married to Dutch IS fighter Yago Riedijk, 27, who is now being held in a Kurdish-run detention centre in northeast Syria.

CALL FOR MERCY
Urging Javid to reverse his decision, Begum's mother "requests this reconsideration, as an act of mercy", following Jarrah's death, said the letter from law firm Farooq Bajwa and Co.

"It is extremely unlikely that Shamima will be in a fit state to make any rational decisions."

The letter said the family have not been able to contact Begum directly and their request for help from the British government to contact her was refused in writing by the Home Office on March 5.

"There are immediate fears for Shamima's health and safety, and the matter is urgent," the letter said, asking for a response within 24 hours.

The letter was posted on Twitter by lawyer Tasnime Akunjee.

In the wake of the baby's death, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said officials were working on how to rescue British children born to IS runaways.

Hunt said the death of Begum's third child was "an incredibly distressing and sad situation" but that it was too dangerous to dispatch officials to the war zone.

"Shamima knew when she made the decision to join ISIS (IS) she was going to a country where there's no embassy, where there's no consular assistance," he told BBC television on Sunday.

"And I'm afraid those decisions, awful though it is, they do have consequences."
Dawn adds:
Javid has previously said that more than 100 individuals had already been deprived of their British citizenship.

2 AJK civilians killed in 'unprovoked' firing by Indian troops across LoC: ISPR
[DAWN] At least two civilians including a woman were killed and four others injured when Indian troops resorted to "unprovoked" firing across the Line of Control (LoC), the military's media wing said in a statement on Monday.

The casualties were caused when Indian forces targeted the civilian population in Chakothi sector of Jhelum Valley district along the de facto border.

"Pakistain army troops responded effectively [by] targeting [the] Indian post which initiated [the] fire," read the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.

The dead were identified as Noushad Bibi, a resident of Soka village, and Ghulam Hussain, who lived in Bakot village.

Four people identified as Raja Mehmood (r/o Darang More), Zahida Bibi (r/o Bari Bhaik), Ghulam Muhammad and Muhammad Zakir (r/o Bakot village) sustained injuries in the firing.

The casualties come a day after guns again started roaring along the restive LoC after a three-day lull. On Sunday, Indian firing had left a civilian dead and four others injured in Pandu, Chakothi and Khilana sectors of Jhelum Valley district.

Turkey summons Belgium ambassador in Ankara: Turkish Official
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
has summoned the Belgian ambassador in Ankara to protest a Brussels appeals court decision that said a Kurdish rebel group cannot be considered to be a terrorist organization.

A Ottoman Turkish Foreign Ministry official said Monday that Turkey ``conveyed its unease'' over the decision to Ambassador Michel Malherbe.

The decision relates to a case under which Belgian federal prosecutors were seeking to try around 30 suspected member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, who allegedly recruited young Kurds in Belgium and elsewhere in Europe, and then took them to combat training camps.

A Brussels appeal court however, ruled Friday that ``insufficient elements were provided to conclude that the PKK is guilty of terrorist offenses.''

The PKK is considered a terror organization by Turkey, the United States and the EU.

Nine Myanmar policemen killed in attack by insurgents
[DAWN] Nine coppers were killed in an attack in Myanmar’s western state of Rakhine by the increasingly active Arakan Army rebel group, the country’s Information Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry’s website said 60 Arakan Army forces of Evil on Saturday night attacked the police post, which was safeguarding question and answer sheets from the national high school matriculation examination.

The Arakan Army, which is aligned with Rakhine’s Buddhist population, seeks autonomy for the region. Rakhine is better known as the site of a brutal counterinsurgency campaign by the military against the Moslem Rohingya minority, causing more than 700,000 to flee to neighbouring Bangladesh. Attacks on police by the Rohingya ARSA Death Eater group which has become largely inactive triggered the crackdown.

The government declared the Arakan Army a terrorist organization after it killed 13 coppers and maimed nine in attacks on Jan 4. The Arakan Army on its website claims to have killed 10 government soldiers in a March 8 battle, but that incident has not been confirmed.

Myanmar’s military announced in January that government forces clashed with the Arakan Army 15 times in 2015, 26 times in 2016, 56 times in 2017 and 61 times in 2018, while the rebels also planted some mines. They said that up to mid-January this year, there have been at least eight armed encounters.

Puigdemont, who lives in self-imposed exile in Belgium, was selected by the pro-independence Junts per Catalunya (JxCat) party during a meeting to pick its candidates.

US Air Strikes Kill Hundreds In Somalia As Conflict Escalates
[RADIOSHABELLE] The US military has escalated a battle against al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
, an Death Eater group affiliated with al-Qaeda, in Somalia even as president Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
seeks to scale back operations against similar Islamist insurgencies elsewhere in the world, from Syria and Afghanistan to West Africa.

A surge in US Arclight airstrikes over the past four months of 2018 pushed the annual corpse count of suspected al-Shabaab fighters in Somalia to the third record high in as many years. Last year, the strikes killed 326 people in 47 disclosed attacks, defence department data show.

And this year, the intensity is on pace to eclipse the 2018 record. During January and February alone, the US Africa Command reported killing 225 people in 24 strikes in Somalia. Double-digit corpse counts are becoming routine, including a bloody five-day stretch in late February in which the military disclosed that it had killed 35, 20 and 26 people in three attacks.

Africa Command maintains that its corpse count includes only al-Shabaab krazed killers, even though the Death Eater group claims regularly that civilians are also killed. The Times could not independently verify the number of civilians killed.

The rise in airstrikes has also exacerbated a humanitarian crisis in the country, according to UN agencies and nongovernmental organizations working in the region, as civilians are displaced by ongoing conflict and extreme weather.

"People need to pay attention to the fact that there is this massive war going on," said Brittany Brown, who worked on Somalia policy at the National Security Council in the Obama and Trump administrations and is now chief of staff of the International Crisis Group.

The war in Somalia appears to be "on autopilot", she added,
...another way to read that is President Trump told the generals to win, then got out of their way, like they did ISIS in Iraq and Syria...
and one that is drawing the United States significantly deeper into an armed conflict without much public debate. The intensifying bombing campaign undercuts the Trump administration’s intended pivot to confront threats from great powers like China and Russia, and away from long counterinsurgency and counterterrorism campaigns that have been the Pentagon’s focus since 2001.

Gen Thomas D. Waldhauser, head of Africa Command, said planned cutbacks elsewhere would not affect what the military was doing in Somalia. "We’ll maintain our capability and capacity there," Waldhauser told the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday.

US citizen Michael White sentenced in Iranian court: Agencies
[AlAhram] A U.S. citizen held in Iran has been sentenced for an unspecified crime, Iranian news agencies reported on Monday, in a case likely to worsen already terrible relations with the United States.

Michael White,
... also in our archives as Michael R. White. His mother claimed he had visited his girlfriend in Iran five or six times before being caught. She can supposedly be seen here...
a 46-year old U.S. Navy veteran, was placed in durance vile
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
last July while visiting his Iranian girlfriend, the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

has reported. The arrest - the only known one of a U.S. citizen since President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
took office - was confirmed by Iran only in January.

On Monday, the prosecutor in the northeastern city of Mashhad, Gholamali Sadeqi, said White had been sentenced, the Fars news agency reported.

He said White had been accused of a security-related charge but did not specify if that was what he had been convicted of. Iranian officials have never said why he was being held.

Trump withdrew from an international agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and re-imposed crippling economic sanctions last year. He warned in 2017 Tehran would face "new and serious consequences" unless all unjustly held U.S. citizens were freed.

White’s sentencing comes days after Iran appointed a new head of the judiciary - Ebrahim Raisi, a hardline holy man who is a protégé of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The appointment is seen as weakening the political influence of President Hassan Rouhani, a relative moderate.

Also on Monday, an Iranian court handed a new sentence to renowned human rights

lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh which her husband said was 38 years in prison and 148 lashes. The official Islamic Theocratic Republic News Agency said she had been sentenced to seven years.

Islamabad to highlight LoC violations, Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir at PUIC conference
[DAWN] Islamabad has decided to raise the issue of violations of the Line of Control, as well as its international boundary by India at the 14th plenary session of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC).

According to a blurb issued by the National Assembly, Speaker Asad Qaiser has nominated a parliamentary delegation, led by Kashmire Committee Chairman Syed Fakhar Imam, to highlight Indian atrocities in Kashmire while representing Pakistain at the PUIC plenary session being held in Rabat, Morocco from March 10-14, 2019.

"Pakistain’s delegation will apprise the 54-member PUIC forum about the continued violation of Pakistain's illusory sovereignty and territorial integrity by India, which has brought the region to the brink of war and devastation," read the statement.

It added that the delegation will take the forum into confidence on steps taken by the government of Pakistain to ensure peace and stability in the region.

Following the instructions of the NA speaker, two resolutions ‐ one on the situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmire and one on according protection of Moslem women and kiddies in the area under conflict ‐ have been included on the agenda items of the conference.

Syria: Freed Yezidi women and children recount time under ISIS
[Rudaw] Freed Yezidi women and kiddies from Iraq recounted their time as prisoners and slaves of the self-proclaimed Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
ISIS on Friday and Saturday, after reportedly being rescued by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the final ISIS-held enclave near Baghouz on Thursday.

Twenty-two-year-old Selwa Seydo and 20-year-old Teysir Sileman Hussein, freed Yezidi women from Iraq’s Shingal District, recounted their time as ISIS prisoners while speaking from the Syrian village of al-Suwar, Deir ez-Zor Governorate on Friday.

Seydo shared how she had been captured by ISIS alongside her mother, sister and brother, before "some Iraqi came to me and said he would take me for himself. I cried, I said I did not want this but there was nothing I could do."

"We stayed in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
for around 10 months. When he and his family had issues with ISIS, ISIS took me from him and brought me back to Raqqa. I was, of course, a handmaid to them," she added.

Hussein remembered how she was only 14 when ISIS arrived in her village and "gave us 15 days to become Moslem. They were approaching men and women and telling them to become Moslems."

Hussein went on to recount how one night ISIS members "put all the girls and women, between seven and 30 years old, on their vehicles and took us to Mosul. After that, they returned and kidnapped all the children."

"They treated me really badly, using me as a handmaid. They beat me when I had nothing to do. They would not give me food, they would not take me to doctor," said Hussein of her captivity under ISIS. On the prospect of returning to her home after being freed, Hussein said "I will have nobody. No mother, no father, no siblings. Only one sister and she is a captive of ISIS."

Seydo and Hussein were part of a group of eight Yezidis - five of which children - from Shingal who were reportedly rescued by SDF in Baghouz on Thursday. Footage shows them being transported by bus from al-Suwar to the Syrian town of Amuda, where a Yezidi safe house is reportedly located.

Mehdi Gazi Mihemed, a former ISIS child captive from Iraq’s Tal Afar, recounted his experience while speaking from Amuda on Saturday, reminiscing how "I was there in Tal Afar with my family, they took us to a house, then they kidnapped my father. They left me and my mother on a vehicle, then a second car came, they separated us, children, from our mothers and put us inside this car." Mihemed was eventually freed by the head of a school. "He told us 'just run, but don't tell anyone that I've freed you.' He showed us the way to the mountains."

Between Friday, March 1 and Thursday, March 7 at least 30 Yezidis freed from Baghouz were reportedly brought back to Shingal.

Baghouz: ISIS militants retreat underground as coalition offensive resumes
[Rudaw] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. fighters are using a network of tunnels under the village of Baghouz, eastern Syria, to avoid being targeted by coalition warplanes and Kurdish-led forces, which have resumed attacks on the last jihadist redoubt.

Coalition jets are targeting Islamic State (ISIS) positions inside the besieged village, including weapons depots and food stores.

Fierce fighting is expected to continue late into the night on Monday, according to Rudaw’s news hound on the front line.

"ISIS fighters are hiding in the tunnels," an Arab fighter with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told Rudaw, using the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

"It is a street fight. ISIS fighters are only meters away from us. I asked one of their imported muscle, who came close, to surrender and his life will be protected, but he refused."

Hawar News, a media agency close to the ruling authority of Rojava, reported that progress has been slowed further by the density of landmines in the area.

Advancing forces face another hidden foe, SDF front man Mustafah Bali told Rudaw ‐ snipers, using tunnels and spider holes to target reconnaissance teams.

"Our forces have liberated this area. This area was inhabited by civilians. About 50 of our comrades went in there, 50 meters from here, for reconnaissance," said Bali, adding there is only a distance of 100 meters between their forces and ISIS.

Fighting has repeatedly paused in recent weeks as the SDF opened corridors to allow civilians and surrendering ISIS members to evacuate.

Those who cross SDF lines are interrogated. Suspected Death Eaters are taken into custody, while civilians and the families of fighters are removed to makeshift camps.

If no more families emerge from the village within the next three days, the SDF and coalition will launch their final push into Baghouz, SDF officials told Rudaw.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, UK-based war monitor, says a further 340 ISIS fighters and their families left Baghouz in the last 48 hours, bring the total to emerge from the last ISIS redoubt to almost 50,000.

Thousands protest Russia’s ‘internet isolation’
[DAWN] Thousands of people rallied against Russia’s increasingly restrictive internet policies on Sunday which some say will eventually lead to "total censorship" and isolate the country from the world.

The mass rally in Moscow and smaller events in other cities across the country was called after the Russian lower house of parliament backed a bill to stop Russian internet traffic from being routed on foreign servers, in a bid to boost cybersecurity.

The move was labelled by critics as the latest attempt to control online content under President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
, with some fearing the country is on track to completely isolate its network like in North Korea.

Activists counting people said more than 15,000 people have turned up to listen to internet and media rights activists as well as music performers who have complained of government pressure in recent months.

"The government is battling freedom, including freedom on the internet, I can tell you this as somebody who spent a month in jail for a tweet," one of the rally speakers Sergei Boiko, an internet freedom activist from Siberia, said. Police detained several people without explanation. A correspondent saw a man being dragged away by arms and legs near the entrance to the rally. The popular Telegram messaging app, which Russian authorities have been unsuccessfully trying to block for many months, called on its users to attend the rally last week.

i ‐ who in 2012 made the apparent ’honour’ killing of five women in Kohistan public ‐ is not surprising. Afzal himself had feared it for many years.

But it should still shock us for both its audacity and inevitability, and for what it indicates about the extent to which the Pak state’s writ has eroded (if it ever existed, that is).

Pentagon Investigating Army Two-Star General for Retaliation Against Green Berets
[Breitbart] The Pentagon inspector general is investigating allegations that a two-star Army general is retaliating against active-duty Green Beret instructors under his command who have voiced concerns over his lowering of standards for Green Beret candidates, three sources familiar with the matter told Breitbart News.

The allegations involve Army Maj. Gen. Kurt Sonntag, who is commanding general of the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School and Center (SWCS) where Green Berets are selected, trained, and graduated.

Breitbart News spoke with more than a half dozen current and former Green Beret instructors and several others in the Green Beret community, whose firsthand accounts paint an alarming picture of an Army general gone rogue, a hostile command climate where soldiers are fearful of retribution for speaking out, and a total breakdown of unit morale.

Current and recent former instructors at SWCS, also known as cadre, say standards at the school’s prestigious Qualification Course (Q-course), where Green Berets are graduated, began to dramatically slide after Sonntag took command in May 2017.

attack after becoming obsessed with watching violent online gang ’drill’ videos.

Haider Ahmed, then a 17-year-old sixth form student, was still living with his parents in the leafy county when he was tossed in the slammer
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
for plotting an attack similar to those at London Bridge and Westminster.

He had become radicalised by violent gang ’drill’ rap videos he watched on YouTube at the age of 14, before graduating to Islamic State violence.

His online obsession led to him taking over an encrypted channel on Telegram dedicated to the terrorist group at the age of 16 and failing most of his GCSEs.

The channel put him in touch with an extensive terrorist recruitment network that had members in Libya, Kenya, India and the Philippines.

Ahmed was found guilty of preparing acts of terrorism by a majority of ten to two and will face sentence next month at Kingston Crown Court.

He asked a friend to sell him a knife because he was under 18 and could not buy it himself and was warned: ’Dnt gt caught with it. They’ll says ISIS, lol.’

Ahmed was also in touch with notorious British Islamic State recruiter Abu Sa'eed al-Britani.

The teenager, who was studying business, IT, maths and law, at ’outstanding’ Reigate College in Surrey, wrote: ’I’m doing well in college, however I’ve found out my purpose recently.’

The statement added that naval forces have continued to secure coastal borderlines to block smuggling attempts through both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.

Border guards, in cooperation with the police and military, discovered and destroyed 244 feddans

of poppies, two tonnes of cannabis, and 1 million narcotic pills, as well as black powder used for IEDs.

They were able to seize 117 vehicles used in smuggling activities across borders, as well as confiscating an amount of ammunition and weaponry in different strategic locations.

The armed forces launched Operation Sinai 2018 in February last year to target terrorist and criminal organizations in northern and central Sinai, parts of the Nile Delta and the Western Desert.

The operation involves the army, navy, border patrol, air force and police.

Hundreds of snuffies have been killed as part of its activities.
The Times of Israel adds:
In February 2018, the army launched a nationwide operation against Death Eaters, mainly focused on the volatile northern part of Sinai and the Western Desert, along the mostly non-existent border with Libya.

Some 600 bandidos hard boyz and around 40 soldiers have been killed since the start of the offensive, according to the armed forces. No independent statistics are available and northern Sinai is largely cut off to media and foreigners.

UN warns against stigmatising 'caliphate' children
[PULSE.NG] Children raised in the Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group's "caliphate" should not be treated as terrorists, the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
' Children Fund (UNICEF) warned Monday.

The agency's Middle East director said the fate of children whose jihadist families recently fled IS's last bastion in northeastern Syria should not be ignored.

"The message that these children are not wanted is growing stronger and stronger," Geert Cappelaere said at a presser in Beirut.

According to UNICEF, an estimated 3,000 foreign children are currently housed at the al-Hol camp which has taken in most of the massive influx of people fleeing the scrap of the IS "caliphate" in recent weeks.

They originate from at least 43 different countries, many of which have been reluctant to tackle the issue of their possible repatriation.

There are even larger numbers of displaced Syrian and Iraqi children who are associated with IS and whose reintegration in society is a challenge that is getting scant attention.

"This is a problem that cannot be swept under the carpet," said Cappelaere, speaking at the launch of a CD of children's song coinciding with the eighth anniversary of the conflict in Syria.

"These are situations that are not necessarily unprecedented, look back at the Rwandan genocide in the mid-nineties," he added.

"We saw thousands of children there who were associated with people who had been committing atrocities. These children have for a big part been successfully reintegrated within the Rwandan society," he said.

Cappelaere said such efforts are needed in Syria and Iraq.

"There is a solution for these children. It requires political courage, political commitment. These children are children, they are not terrorists," he said.

He said a total of five million children were born since the start of the conflict in 2011.

While fighting has wound up in several parts of Syria in recent months, millions of Syrian children remain in need of basic humanitarian assistance.

Iraqi suspect in murder of German teen goes on trial
[DW] Iraqi national Ali B. is set to go on trial for the murder of 14-year-old Susanna F. The case has fueled a broader debate about asylum practices in Germany, particularly for individuals who have committed crimes.

In May 2018, 14-year-old Susanna F.
...that would be Jewish German Susanna Feldmann, also spelt Susanna Feldman in our archives, about whose misadventure the local authorities were uninterested in taking a report or acting upon until the uproar grew loud enough to be embarrassing...
was murdered in the German city of Wiesbaden. Her body was found on June 6 of that year in a forest not far from the refugee home where the suspect, 22-year-old Ali B.,
......the Iraqi Kurd known wolf with a string of “petty” offenses including armed robbery who fled with his family back to Kurdistan after murdering a nice Jewish German girl. He was then arrested and handed over — illegally, according to the government in Baghdad — to the German authorities when the Kurds realized what had attempted to nestle into their welcoming bosom. Mr. Bashar, also in our archives as Ali B. and Ali Basar, is a living example of the legal maxim Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus: he falsified his name and his age upon arrival with his family 2015, then he escaped Germany after that murder using a false passport, having paid cash for a one-way ticket to Iraq via Istanbul...
lived. Ali B., who had applied for asylum in Germany but had his request rejected, has confessed to the murder. On Tuesday, he will go on trial at the Wiesbaden district court.

Susanna's murder made headlines across Germany, fueling a heated debate about how to deal with asylum-seekers who have committed crimes in the country. It also raised questions about the role of the current German government in steering migration, and what can be done to make the judiciary and police work more efficiently.

While the country's right-wing populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party started organizing "vigils" and "solemn marches" after Susanna's killing, others protested against the instrumentalization of the girl's murder for political purposes and the increased polarization of German society. Susanna's killing sparked particular outrage because Ali B. was apparently already known to German police for previous crimes.

ARRESTED IN IRAQ
Several days after Susanna F.'s death, Ali B. and his family suddenly left Germany for their native Iraq using forged documents. A political scandal ensued. DW reporter Jaafar Abdul Karim managed to contact Ali B.'s mother in Iraq, who said her son had been drunk at the time and could not remember what had happened.

German police traveled to Iraq to apprehend Ali B.

Ultimately, Ali B. was arrested by local security forces in Iraq and brought back to Germany. The chief of the German federal police, Dieter Romann, had traveled to the city of Erbil, in Iraq's northern Kurdish region, together with several members of the country's GSG 9 anti-terror squad and a doctor in order to apprehend the suspect.

Back on German soil, Ali B. confessed to the murder. However, to this day he denies having raped Susanna F. Ali B. has been in pretrial detention in Frankfurt since June 10, 2018.

In a separate case on March 19, Ali B. will also go trial at the Wiesbaden district court for allegedly twice raping an 11-year-old girl together with a 14-year-old accomplice.

DEPORTATION LIKELY?
According to an indictment seen by German regional public broadcaster SWR, Susanne F. sent a text message to her friend's phone shortly before her death, informing her about her distress.

Susanna's lawyer Petra Kaadtmann told SWR that "this friend neither contacted the police nor Susanna's mother ... and that if she had done so, this crime could have been prevented." Susanna's mother had previously criticized the friend on Facebook.

A verdict is expected in late May. If Ali B. is found guilty, he could be deported to Iraq, though he would likely serve at least half of his sentence in Germany. While deportations to Iraq have been ruled out by the German government since 2006 for security reasons, this does not apply for Kurdish Iraqis, individuals deemed potential terrorists and convicted criminals.

Man with knives held near rally of Dutch far-right leader Wilders
[PULSE.NG] Dutch police tossed in the slammer

a man carrying two knives and an axe close to an election rally by anti-Islam leader Geert Wilders, the politician and officials said Monday.

The suspect was detained as the far-right leader handed out leaflets in Heerlen, in the southwest of the Netherlands, ahead of provincial polls on March 20.

"The man held on Saturday in Heerlen before leafletting in Heerlen had -- so NCTV tells me today -- two knives and an axe on him," Wilders tweeted, referring to the Dutch national anti-terrorism service.

"Compliments to the police and the NCTV for their vigilance -- a lot of misery was avoided," added Wilders, who heads the Freedom Party (PVV).

The NCTV confirmed to AFP that the details given by Wilders were correct but refused to give further information on the identity of the suspect, his aims or how he was arrested.

Police have launched an investigation, the Dutch news agency ANP reported.

Wilders is widely seen as a successor to the far-right populist Pim Fortuyn, who was assassinated in 2002.

Wilders himself has faced several threats, especially after recent tweets about Islam on his Twitter account.

He is currently appealing a Dutch court ruling finding him guilty of discrimination for calling at a 2014 election rally for "fewer Moroccans" in the Netherlands.

The PVV is the largest opposition party in the Netherlands, with 20 seats in the lower house of parliament and nine in the senate.

Brussels Jewish museum killer facing jail says 'life goes on'
[PULSE.NG] A French jihadist found guilty of shooting dead four people in a terrorist attack at Brussels' Jewish museum joked Monday "life goes on" as prosecutors demanded he be placed in durance vile
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
for life.

A jury last week convicted Mehdi Nemmouche of "terrorist murder" for the anti-Semitic gun rampage in the Belgian capital on May 24, 2014, a crime committed following his return from Syria's battlefields.

The 33-year-old said "life goes on" with a smirk in his final words before the jury retired to consider his sentence, after prosecutors branded him a "coward" and a "psychopath" and demanded a tough sentence.

"What we ask, without the slightest hesitation, is that you sentence Mehdi Nemmouche to life in prison," prosecutor Yves Moreau told the Brussels criminal court.

After hearing closing statements from prosecution and defence lawyers, the 12 jurors and three judges left to decide what punishment he should face, with an announcement expected by the evening.

Nemmouche was found to have killed the four victims in less than 90 seconds, shooting them with a handgun and a Kalashnikov rifle with what one paramedic who attended the scene called "surgical" precision.

Prosecutors also demanded a minimum 30-year prison sentence for Nacer Bendrer, 30, who was found guilty of being the co-author of the attack because he supplied the weapons Nemmouche used.

"Mr Nemmouche, you are just a coward, you kill people by shooting them from behind, you kill old women by shooting them with an assault rifle, you kill because it gives you pleasure to kill," Moreau said.

Urging the jury to take a firm line, Moreau said: "If you say that in Belgium one can be a terrorist without being punished very severely, then we must not be surprised to see people arrive in this country with bombs or assault rifles in their suitcases."

Bendrer said he was ashamed that he had ever met Nemmouche, saying "he's not even a man, he's a monster".

Prosecutors say the attack was the first carried out in Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
by a jihadist returning to the continent after fighting in Syria.

The Brussels killings came 18 months before the November 2015 Gay Paree attacks which left 130 people dead.

Nemmouche denied the charges against him, with his lawyers alleging that the museum shooting was not the work of the Islamic State

Yemeni militiamen suspected of child rape: Amnesty
[DAWN] Children as young as eight have been raped in a besieged city in war-hit Yemen, Amnesia Amnesty International said on Monday, with Lions of Islam among the suspected perpetrators.

Amnesty said it had documented evidence of the rape of three boys and the sexual assault of a fourth in the southwestern city of Taez, controlled by pro-government forces and surrounded by Yemeni rebels.

The families of the four boys, aged eight to 16, told Amnesty their sons had been assaulted over the past eight months, including at a mosque, but authorities in the area had not been responsive.

All four families reported the assaults to the Criminal Investigations Unit in Taez, Amnesty said. No legal measures had been taken.

"Rape and sexual assault committed in the context of an armed conflict are war crimes," said Heba Morayef, Amnesty's Middle East and North Africa director. "Commanders who fail to stop such heinous acts can themselves be responsible for war crimes."

The mother of an eight-year-old boy told Amnesty her son had been raped at least twice in 2018 at a mosque, each time by two men including the son of an Islah-affiliated imam.

Al-Islah is a Yemeni krazed killer party with historic ties to the Moslem Brüderbund and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Medical reports reviewed by Amnesty showed the boy suffered impaired mobility and concussions as a result of assault.

The father of a 13-year-old boy reported his son had been raped by the same two men at the same mosque.

Another boy, who reported being raped in December, told Amnesty he had been assaulted at gunpoint by an "Islahi-aligned militiaman".

"He was unable to sit afterwards or go to the bathroom for three days," the mother of the 16-year-old said. "He just sat there staring into space."

Other unreported cases are likely, Amnesty said, as families are often too afraid of militias, which have flourished in the chaos of war, to come forward.

Convicted sexual violence offenders can be given the death penalty
under Yemeni law. A number of men have been publicly executed in recent years for the rape and murder of children.

i envoy Mohammed al-Emadi will on Monday begin distributing funds to the impoverished residents of the Gazoo Strip as part of the second installments of Qatari grant.

The five-and-a-half million dollars cash grant will be distributed to 55,000 families, with each one receiving around $100.

Netanyahu: Money To Hamas Part Of Strategy To Keep Palestinians Divided

[Jpost] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended Israel’s regular allowing of Qatari funds to be transferred into Gazoo, saying it is part of a broader strategy to keep Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede, and the Paleostinian Authority separate, a source in Monday’s Likud faction meeting said.

Netanyahu explained that, in the past, the PA transferred the millions of dollars to Hamas in Gazoo. He argued that it was better for Israel to serve as the pipeline to ensure the funds don’t go to terrorism.

"Now that we are supervising, we know it’s going to humanitarian causes," the source said, paraphrasing Netanyahu.

The prime minister also said that, "whoever is against a Paleostinian state should be for" transferring the funds to Gazoo, because maintaining a separation between the PA in the West Bank and Hamas in Gazoo helps prevent the establishment of a Paleostinian state.

Netanyahu also spoke about his Bar-Ilan speech, in which he expressed support for a demilitarized Paleostinian state a decade ago.

At the time, Netanyahu said, he told then-US vice president Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
his conditions for a Paleostinian state: that it be demilitarized, that Jerusalem remain unified and that Israel have full security control, including freedom of action for the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) to prevent terrorism against Israel.

In addition, he told the Likud candidates in the faction meeting that he opposes any population transfers of Jews or Arabs, and that he’s "against uprooting even one person."

He said that he had voted for the 2005 Gazoo disengagement at first because it was only about territory, but when the discussions moved to moving thousands of people, he resigned from the government.
Party leaders across the political spectrum have criticized Netanyahu’s policies towards Gazoo in general and the payments specifically.

The Blue and White Party’s platform calls to stop allowing the transfer of funds to Hamas, calling it mafia-style "protection" payments.

Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman, who resigned as head of the Defense Ministry over Gazoo policies, said on Saturday that the payments are a "miserable decision," marking "the first time Israel is funding terrorism against itself."

Skråmo had been one of the hundreds of Islamic State bully boyz still fighting Kurdish forces and attempting to defend the village. He was also not the only foreign fighter, with most of the last surviving holdouts being foreigners.

Though the Swedish citizen had told relatives that he would rather die than surrender, he was allegedly captured by the Kurds after surrendering to them following the previous capture of his seven children.

Swedish YPG soldier Jesper Söder described the capture of the infamous jihadist, saying, "He was arrested with a cluster of people. I think he was found in a cluster of people in a tunnel where he had dug himself in."

Söder added that around 50 Islamic State members were arrested at once, including women and kiddies.

Magnus Ranstorp, terrorist researcher at the Swedish National Defense College, commented on the arrest and his potential prosecution by the Norwegian government, explaining: "In Norway, the average penalty for participation and co-operation with IS is approximately seven years."

He also added that there was a possibility of Skråmo being handed over to the United States, where he could face a much more substantial sentence of up to 30 years for fighting for the disintegrating caliphate.

Ranstorp suggested that while Skråmo had been well-known in Sweden, calling for Islamic State supporters to commit attacks on Swedish soil in propaganda videos, he was likely not involved in planning terror attacks personally.

"He has not been an international propagandist; that is, someone who appears to speak in English or other languages in his videos. So he is big in Swedish context but he is small potatoes in the Islamic State," Ranstorp said.

Israeli forces nab Palestinian suspected of 2016 settlement stabbing
[IsraelTimes] Shin Bet security service says Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,-affiliated 27-year-old stabbed Efrat resident from behind, whereupon maimed victim scared him off.

The Shin Bet security service announced Monday that Israeli forces had apprehended a Paleostinian man suspected of carrying out a stabbing attack that moderately injured a man in the Efrat settlement, south of Jerusalem, over two years ago.

The arrest of 27-year-old Ayman Muhammad Ali Fughara from the neighboring village of Jorat al-Sham’a took place last month, the Shin Bet said, adding that the suspect was affiliated with the Hamas terror group

Using a knife that he had purchased in order to carry out the December 2016 attack, the security service said that Fughara approached 50-year-old Efrat resident Rafi Lisker from behind and stabbed him four times. Lisker had been on an evening stroll with his wife, who managed to flee to a home across the street to get help as her husband was being struck.

Lisker managed to keep a distance from the attacker and began screaming "terrorist," leading Fughara to flee the scene. The suspect remained on the lam until February.

The military later released video footage of Fughara’s arrest, showing troops from the elite Duvdevan unit entering his home late at night and, upon checking his ID card, taking him into custody.

Investigative findings have been transferred to the IDF’s Military Advocate General in order to file an indictment against Fughara.

Responding to the arrest, the Efrat Local Council thanked the Shin Bet for "not giving up" in its search for the attacker. The town’s mayor, Oded Revivi, also praised Lisker for engaging the terrorist, even after being stabbed, in a manner that saved lives.
