#2  Sports is big money. Lots of polling is being done. Half of all sports fans are like half of the electorate. They love anything the other half hates. If the owners and boosters thought any of the Anti-America crap was really hurting them, it's be over in a New York minute. Whether they are getting good data from their polls is anyone's guess.

The Amazing Super Power Of Donald Trump
[Daily Wire] Donald Trump’s super power is now on full display. As I’ve mentioned before, the president has an uncanny ability to make other people destroy themselves. And what he has done to countless individuals, he is now doing to the Left en masse.

I first noticed this super ability of Trump’s way back during the 2016 Republican primaries. Reacting to Trump, Marco Rubio descended to Trump’s level of grotesque personal insult ‐ and basically ended his campaign. Reacting to Trump, Jeb! Bush tried to appear forceful and dynamic and rendered himself ridiculous ‐ and he was done. Even the brilliant Ted Cruz, reacting to Trump, was lured into an attempt to out-strategize "my friend Donald," and only managed to get himself devoured last. Trump didn’t beat them, he simply magicked them into beating themselves. It really is a remarkable kind of Jedi mind trick.

And now, after two and a half years of the Left trying to strike Trump down, he has only become more powerful than they could possibly have imagined!

Who couldn’t see the extraordinary Trump Effect playing itself out in the Democrat debates, as candidate after candidate promised to destroy our borders, give free health care to millions of illegals, and immolate whole job sectors on the altar of climate hysteria? Even sympathetic left-wing commentators were covering their eyes at the self-engineered train wreck: the latest exercise of the Trump super power.

And it didn’t stop there. In the course of a single week, signs that Trump had amped his Jedi game to Melee Level were everywhere. Antifas fascists nearly murdered a journalist ‐ and leftists made excuses for them. The Fourth of July approached ‐ and leftists declared the American flag a symbol of white nationalism. Our border forces struggled valiantly to handle a crisis the Left had repeatedly claimed was imaginary ‐ and leftists condemned them as dangerous thugs running concentration camps.

Finally, Trump organized a delightfully Trumpian Fourth of July extravaganza on the National Mall ‐ and the leftist commentators flocked to cable to proclaim the celebration the act of an evil dictator.

#1  Victor Davis Hanson, The Case for Trump, pages 316-317.

The Very idea that Donald Trump could, even in a perverse way, be heroic may appalling to half the country. Nonetheless, one way of squaring both Trump's personal excesses and his accomplishments is that his traditionally non presidential behavior may have been valuable in bringing long-overdue changes in foreign and domestic policy. Tragic heroes, as they have been portrayed from Homer's Iliad and Sophocle's plan (e.g. Ajaz, Antigone, Oedipus Rex, Philoctetes) to modern western fim, are not intrinsically noble. They can often be obnoxious and petty, if not dangerous, especially to those around them. The mercurial sorts rarely end up well, and on occasion neither to those in their vicinity. Oedipus was rudely narcissistic. In the film Hombre, antihero John Russel (Paul Newman) proved arrocant and off-putting.

Tragic heroes are often unstable loners. They are aloof by preference and due to society;s understandable unease with them. Sophocle's Ajax soliloquies about a rigged system and lack of recognition accorded his undeniable accomplishments is Trumpian to the core. They are akin to the sensational rumors sthat late at night Trump is hold up alone, brooding, eating fast food, apart from his wife, and watching Fox News shows.

Dementia tied to hormone-blocking prostate cancer treatment
CHICAGO (AP) ‐ Alzheimer’s disease may be a risk for older prostate cancer patients given hormone-blocking treatment, a large, U.S. government-funded analysis found.

Previous evidence has been mixed on whether the treatment might be linked with mental decline. But experts say the new results stand out because they’re from a respected national cancer database and the men were tracked for a long time ‐ eight years on average.

Among 154,000 older patients, 13% who received hormone-blocking treatment developed Alzheimer’s, compared with 9% who had other treatment or chose no therapy, the study found.

The risk for dementia from strokes or other causes was higher: It was diagnosed in 22% of those who got hormone-blocking treatment, versus 16% of the other patients.

The results, using perhaps one of the largest and most reliable databases, suggests there truly may be a connection, said Dr. Sumanta Pal, a prostate cancer expert with the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Pal was not involved in the study.

The analysis from University of Pennsylvania researchers was published Friday in JAMA Network Open.

The results aren’t proof but experts say they underscore the importance of discussing potential risks and benefits when choosing cancer treatment.

After Cheating Allegations and News of His Disqualification Went Viral, Los Angeles Marathon Runner Found Dead
[Time] LOS ANGELES ‐ A marathon runner has been found dead in the Los Angeles River, days after he was disqualified from the Los Angeles Marathon following allegations of cheating.

The body of Dr. Frank Meza, 70, was discovered shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday, authorities said. Sarah Ardalani, a spokeswoman for the coroner’s office, said an autopsy is pending. The Los Angeles Times reported Meza as the man found dead and a medical license and voter registration records match his home address and date of birth.

Meza, a retired physician who began entering marathons in his 60s after coaching young athletes, had denied the allegations of cheating. He had come under suspicion for his fast splits and finishes in marathons statewide, but claimed it was impossible for him to prove he didn’t cheat. He did say he had stopped to relieve himself, but said he ran the entire 26.2 miles (42.2 kilometers).

"My take on all this, it was supposed to be fun," he told the Times. "Obviously it’s not fun anymore."

Austria closes country roads to German travelers - Pay Toll or stay home
[DW] Austria's Tyrol province announced on Thursday that it would restrict access to country roads for vehicles seeking to avoid its highways. The move has drawn the ire of officials in the state of Bavaria, which borders the western Austrian province, as the ban would affect southern Germany's summer cross country travelers.

Given Tyrol's location, between Germany and Italy, travelers going to and from those countries must drive through it. Many use the country roads to either skip heavy traffic conditions on the highway or to avoid paying the tolls.

Tyrol's ban will close major highway exits in and around the city of Innsbruck, where travelers usually gain access to alternative country roads. This will apply to all traffic, including cars, trucks or motorcycles, and will only affect those making long-haul journeys through the province.

To enforce the new ban, authorities will have police personnel patrolling the highway and have sought to remove the alternative routes from navigational systems.

Tyrolean provincial governor Gunther Platter announced the decision to Austria's press agency APA, stressing that the ban will be applied specifically on weekends, from Saturday at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday at 7:00 p.m., beginning this weekend and ending mid-September.

Authorities are hoping this will help relieve the traffic burden of towns and small communities along the highway.

US Embassy warns citizens against attending Dublin's Longitude festival
[Irish Times] US state department advice that American citizens should stay away from the Longitude festival this weekend has been described as "beyond ridiculous" by the festival organiser.

MCD promoter Denis Desmond said he was shocked and completely in the dark as to why the state department and the US embassy in Ireland had advised its citizens not to go.

The festival continues until Sunday at Marlay Park in south Dublin and the rap-dominated line-up features acts including Ski Mask the Slump God, Cardi B and Stormzy.

The US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs tweeted in advance of the festival: "#Dublin #Ireland: Reports indicate a potential for violence at the Longitude Festival taking place from July 5-7 in Marlay Park. Police have increased event security and are monitoring the situation. Be aware of your surroundings and exercise caution if in the area."

The US embassy elaborated on the warning advising US citizens that "local police are aware of the threat and will conduct comprehensive bag and person searches. The police have increased event security and are monitoring the situation."

DNA study reveals fate of Irish women taken by Vikings as slaves to Iceland
[Irish Times] The mapping of DNA from some of the settlers who colonised Iceland more than 1,000 years ago offers an insight into the fate of thousands of slaves ‐ mostly women ‐ who were taken by Norse Vikings from Ireland and Scotland before they put down roots on the North Atlantic island.

Anthropologist Sunna Ebenesersdóttir, of the University of Iceland and the company deCODE Genetics in Reykjavik, analysed the genomes of 25 ancient Icelanders whose skeletal remains were found in burial sites across the island.

Sequencing using samples from teeth revealed the settlers had a roughly even split of Norse (from what are today Norway and Sweden) and Gaelic ancestry. It is the first in-depth investigation of how a new population is formed through a genetic process known as "admixture".

When the researchers compared the ancient genomes to those of modern people in Iceland and other European countries, they found contemporary Icelanders, on average, draw about 70 per cent of their genes from Norse ancestry.

This suggests that in the 1,100 years between settlement and today, the population underwent a surprisingly quick genetic shift in favour of Norse genes, the researchers report in the journal Science.

US media sector braces for brutal year for jobs
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The struggling US media industry is facing its worst year for job layoffs in a decade as news organizations continue to cut staff and close shops, according to a new survey.
Learn to code
The consultancy Challenger Gray & Christmas reported this week that media companies, which include movies, television, publishing, music, and broadcast and print news, announced plans to cut 15,474 jobs so far this year, of which 11,878 of which were from news organizations.

That is nearly three times more than the 4,062 cuts announced in the media sector in 2017 and the highest total since the economic crisis in 2009.

"Members of the media, especially journalists, have had a tough few years," said Andrew Challenger, vice president of the reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
-based firm.

"Many jobs were already in jeopardy due to a business model that tried to meet consumer demand for free news with ad revenue. As media outlets attempted to put news behind pay walls, in many markets, consumers opted not to pay," he added.

Some of the notable events this year included the closing of the Youngstown Vindicator, the only daily in the Ohio city, with 144 jobs lost, and the sale of the New Orleans Times-Picayune resulting in the loss of some 160 positions, including 65 in the newsroom.

But the troubles have also impacted the digital sector with BuzzFeed cutting 200 employees in January and Verizon eliminating 800 jobs in its media division, which includes Yahoo, AOL, and HuffPost, the Challenger report noted.

The report noted that media companies have been unable to keep pace with Facebook and Google in tailoring ads for customers based on their interests, making it hard to generate online revenue.

It also noted that a rise in browser ad blocking extensions has made it increasingly difficult to monetize online news.

"Job cuts and consolidations are likely to continue until these companies are able to find ways to create growth in revenue streams," Andrew Challenger said.

He added that subscription-based models will only work if news organizations can convince consumers of the importance and value of their news.

"Another possibility for media companies is to monetize users’ personal data, as Facebook and Google have," he said.

"There are obvious ethical implications and potential legal issues, however, especially as privacy laws begin to pass in various jurisdictions across the country. Ultimately, the quality of the country’s news will start to decline if we as users refuse to pay for it," he added.

He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. Haftar’s forces, which hold much of eastern and southern Libya, launched an offensive in early April to seize the capital from the government.

Last month Haftar ordered his forces to target Ottoman Turkish companies and arrest Ottoman Turkish nationals after he lost a major town to forces backing Sarraj’s government.

Wrong Chicago family takes 'brother' off life support amid mistaken identity
[BBC] A US hospital switched off life support for a patient after the wrong family gave its consent, a lawsuit alleges.

The man was taken to Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, in April, after being found lying unconscious beneath a car, naked with facial injuries.

Chicago police identified him though mug shots as Alfonso Bennett, and in May the hospital contacted relatives.

He died after they agreed to switch off the life support, but the real Mr Bennett later showed up at a barbecue.

His family were arranging his funeral when Mr Bennett reappeared, having been away.

After fingerprinting him at the morgue, police then named the dead man as Elisha Brittman, 69, and his real family were eventually contacted.

Both families are now suing the hospital and the city of Chicago for negligence and inflicting intentional emotional distress.

[Daily Caller] Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton withdrew from the cybersecurity conference where she was scheduled to be the keynote speaker, citing an "unforeseen circumstance," according to an email from the FireEye Cyber Defense Summit.

Clinton ‐ who infamously transmitted classified information over a homemade server once housed in her bathroom ‐ was the centerpiece of the October 9-10 summit in Washington, where Clinton was to have "engage[d] in a Q&A discussion with FireEye CEO, Kevin Mandia on the geopolitical landscape and its implications for global cyber security today."

The FireEye "Cyber Defense Summit brings together many of the world’s leading security experts, frontline heroes, government leaders, and executives from various industries to address the challenges of today’s threat landscape," its website says.

An email from FireEye sent Tuesday said "Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Secretary Clinton will no longer be able to participate in this year’s conference. Additional speakers will be announced as confirmed. We look forward to hosting attendees in October with a comprehensive program at our 10th annual event."

Government
America's Road to Socialism Has Been Cobbled by Taxation and Debt
[American Thinker] Every now and again, you’ll hear someone argue that a fundamental transformation of the American economy is necessary because we are in the throes of something called "late-stage capitalism." Wealth inequality has reached an unacceptable tipping point, they typically argue, so the only logical solution to this "problem" is to allow the government to disproportionately seize wealth and income from the wealthiest and highest-earning Americans, and then redistribute that wealth to other Americans who need it more. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs," as the policy prescription popularized by Karl Marx goes.

But what I find most curious about this is that Karl Marx might not necessarily see it this way. Given what we’ve seen in America for the last hundred years or so, he might more aptly suggest that we are in "early-stage communism," simply waiting for a revolutionary event to secure "full communism" as America’s "mode of production."

In The Anti-Capitalistic Mentality (1956), Ludwig von Mises observes that:
When Marx and Engels advocated interventionist measures, they did not mean to suggest a compromise between socialism and capitalism. They considered these measures ‐ incidentally, the same measures which are the essence of the New Deal and Fair Deal policies ‐ as first steps on the way to full communism. They themselves described these measures as "economically insufficient and untenable," and they asked for them only because they "in the course of the movement outstrip themselves, necessitate further inroads upon the social order, and are unavoidable as a means of revolutionizing the mode of production."

Marx knew that the struggle between socialism and capitalism was a duel to the death, not a negotiation. An economic system where individuals have fundamental property rights cannot coexist with an economic system which is predicated upon perpetually infringing upon certain individuals’ right to property in order to provide for others. Only one of these systems could practically, morally, and politically exist in the end.

Britain
Charity and police break up UK's largest modern slavery ring
[Guardian] The largest-ever modern slavery ring uncovered in the UK has been broken up after a three-year investigation into its activities. Some of its 400 victims worked for as little as 50p a day.

Their labour earned millions for members of a criminal gang led by a Polish criminal family, which preyed on the homeless, ex-prisoners and alcoholics from Poland. Gang members were jailed on Friday.

The gang tricked and then trafficked vulnerable men and women ‐ ranging in age from 17 to over 60 ‐ to Britain with the promise of gainful employment but instead housed them in squalor and used them as what a judge described as "commodities".

Working on farms, rubbish recycling centres and poultry factories in the Midlands, they were made to live in cramped, rat-infested accommodation and reduced to going to soup kitchens and food banks to get enough to eat.

Olde Tyme Religion
Iran’s Regime Arrests 8 Christians, Sending Them To Solitary Confinement
[Jpost] Security officials from Iran’s ministry of intelligence raided the homes of eight Iranians who converted to Christianity on July 1 in the southern city of Bushehr, carting them off to solitary confinement.

The arrests of the eight Christians was first reported on Friday by Article18, an organization that promotes religious freedom and supports Iran's repressed Christians.

Article 18 wrote that intelligence agents " stormed the Christians’ homes in a coordinated operation at around 9am, confiscating Bibles, Christian literature, wooden crosses and pictures carrying Christian symbols, along with laptops, phones, all forms of identity cards, bank cards and other personal belongings."

Alireza Nader, the CEO of New Iran, a research and advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C., told The Jerusalem Post on Friday: "Reporting suggests that Christianity is on the rise in Iran, along with other non-Islamic religions. This is a threat to the Islamic Theocratic Republic, a regime based on a narrow and totalitarian view of Islam. As the regime faces more internal unrest, the more it’ll crack down on religious minorities it views as threatening its stranglehold on religion."

The Article 18 report noted that "Arresting agents also searched the work offices of at least two Christians and confiscated computer hard drives and security-camera recordings" and "The officers are reported to have treated the Christians harshly, even though small children were present during the arrests."

The human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
website wrote the Iranian regime authorities have not allowed lawyers to gain access to the arrested Christians. The Christians are being held at a ministry of intelligence site in the Persian Gulf port city of Bushehr.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in late June after the US released its new report on religious freedom that "In Iran, the regime’s crackdown on Baha’is, Christians and others continues to shock the conscience."

The U.S. has designated the Islamic Theocratic Republic as a "Country of Concern" since 1999, because its regime violates religious freedom as defined by the U.S. International Religious Freedom Act (1998). Article18 said the names of the Iranian Christians who were imprisoned are: :Sam Khosravi, 36, and his wife Maryam Falahi, 35; Sam’s brother Sasan, 35, and his wife Marjan Falahi, 33; Sam and Sasan’s mother, Khatoon Fatolahzadeh, 61; Pooriya Peyma, 27, and his wife Fatemeh Talebi, 27; and Habib Heydari, 38."

According to Article 18, "Khatoon Fatolahzadeh, whose arrest came after six cars carrying security officials turned up outside her home, was released the same day due to her age."

The State Department’s religious freedom report said that Iran’s holy manal regime "continued to harass, interrogate, and arrest Baha’is, Christians (particularly converts), Sunni Moslems, and other religious minorities, and regulated Christian religious practices closely to enforce a prohibition on proselytizing."

Peter Kohanloo, the president of the U.S.-based Iranian American Majority organization, told the Post: "The Iranian regime’s recent arrests of Christian converts prove once again that there is no true freedom of religion in the country. If Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
cares at all about its Christian patrimony, then it should take seriously U.S. efforts at isolating the regime instead of undermining our economic sanctions campaign."

Britain
UK Labour Antisemitism: Turmoil As Top Lawyer Departs, Contentious Retweet
Another own goal as Britain’s left wing hurtles down into insignificance. May our own soon follow, both to be replaced by honourable loyal oppositions.
[Jpost] The UK Labour party's response to antisemitism is in turmoil after its top lawyer stepped down from his role on Friday, The Independent reported.

Gordon Nardell QC, a key figure hired by the party last year to help tackle Labour's disturbing antisemitism problem, added to the renewed pressure the party was facing this week, following a contentious retweet by the party's incoming head of membership, Jules Rutherford on Thursday.

Rutherford, who is due to start the job on Monday, shared a tweet by 'Jack Jazz' which claimed antisemitism allegations against party members are being used as a "political weapon" to "smear" party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The tweet included a video in which Professor Norman Finkelstein described the antisemitism claims as "witch-hunt hysteria" and was subsequently removed from Rutherford's feed following a request for comment from Labour by PoliticsHome.

Labour has been in damage control for some time over rampant antisemitism allegations and will now be forced to find a new lawyer to defend the party, following Mr Nardell’s departure.

Party sources told The Independent that a documentary which is set to be aired on the BBC's Panorama program is said to contain further damaging allegations about antisemitism. This, according to the sources, may have led Nardell to quit.

The documentary has the party leadership "running around in panic," sources quoted by The Independent said.

"Gordon Nardell’s tenure as General Consel will be remarkable only for the absolute chaos and political manipulation within the Governance and Legal Unit that took place on his watch," a spokesperson for the Jewish Labour movement (JLM) said.

"The party leadership’s total failure to address anti-Jewish racism has led to the EHRC [Equality and Human Rights Commission] launching a statutory investigation into institutional racism following JLM’s referral. It is unsurprising that he has now resigned."

"The leadership must be held accountable for the culture of harassment, intimidation and causal racism that has gripped the Party, and follow Nardell’s example."

JLM chair Mike Katz tweeted earlier on Friday that the retweet by Labour's incoming head of membership, Jules Rutherford, was "just awful, but who's surprised?"

"This is why EHRC are investigating the Party for institutional anti-Jewish racism," he said. "In today's party, you virtue-signal by being casually racist." Implying the party's culture is such, that in order to be accepted by other members antisemitic comments are required of its members.

Iraq
UNESCO lists Iraq’s Babylon as World Heritage Site
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee voted on Friday to list the sprawling Mesopotamian metropolis of Babylon as a World Heritage Site after three decades of lobbying efforts by Iraq.

Iraq had been trying since 1983 to have the site -- a massive 10-square-kilometre complex of which just 18 percent has been excavated thus far -- recognized by UNESCO.

Straddling Iraq’s Euphrates River about 100 kilometers (60 miles) south of Baghdad, the city was the center of the ancient Babylonian empire more than 4,000 years ago.

"What is the world heritage list without Babylon? How to tell the history of humanity without the earliest of old chapters, Babylon?" said Iraq’s representative to UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee ahead of the vote.

The committee met in Azerbaijan’s capital of Baku to consider Babylon and another 34 sites, including in Brazil and Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, for the World Heritage List.

It opted not to designate Babylon as the World Heritage in Danger after objections from Iraq.

"Babylon is the largest populated city in ancient history," said Qahtan al-Abeed, who heads the Basra Antiquities Department and led efforts to get the site listed.

"The Babylonians were the civilization of writing, administration and science," he told AFP.

Putting Babylon on the World Heritage List "will encourage research and development of the site," and would "be free publicity for tourists," he added excitedly.

Babylon occupies a special place in religion, appearing in the Bible, Hebrew scripture, and even mythical prophecies.

It developed as a walled city of temples and towers made of mudbrick and known internationally for its hanging gardens, the Tower of Babel, and the Ishtar Gate.

Home Front: Politix
Trump’s Fourth of July Speech Was Patriotism over Politics
[BREITBART] Former vice president Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Old, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant....
said, prior to the speech, that the event had been "designed more to stroke Trump’s ego than celebrate American ideals." (This from a politician who served under Barack Obama
I inhaled. That was the point...
, who not only made virtually every speech about himself, but dared to re-design the presidential seal in his own image.)

Biden could not have been more wrong. Trump’s speech was all about the country ‐ its heroes, its people, and its democratic ideals.

Trump, in the rain, addressed the nation and re-told the heroic story of its founding. "With a single sheet of parchment, and 56 signatures, America began the greatest political journey in human history," Trump said, recalling the battles that followed to secure the freedom for which the Founders had fought.

He went on to tell the story of American success ‐ not just in politics and war, but also in science, medicine, technology, industry, exploration, culture, and civil rights.

Trump boldly spoke the truths that have been suppressed in our media and on our campuses. His speech was not only moving, but necessary. The history he related, and the achievements he celebrated, are unknown to a generation raised to see our country as flawed, if not evil.

The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

declares today that America is not the "greatest," but "just OK"; Vice tells readers America "has always been bad." That is the new poisonous orthodoxy; Trump provided the antidote.

More than that, Trump celebrated the ordinary people who constantly renew our country’s potential.

He acknowledged Tina "Angel" Belcher, who "turns her tiny kitchen into a disaster relief center" for hurricane victims; he thanked Sister Deidre Byrne for aiding the maimed on September 11, 2001; he honored Clarence Henderson, who led the historic sit-in at the Woolworth’s lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 1960; he also praised the suffragette movement.

Trump thanked the military, and law enforcement, and Gold Star families. And he offered a moving tribute to each of the five branches of the armed forces, recounting the history of each, noting its greatest deeds.

The military band sang and played the song of each branch as its aircraft flew overhead. Trump used the opportunity to urge young Americans to join the armed forces: how often has any president made such a direct appeal, against such a moving backdrop?

This was not a political speech: it was a patriotic milestone. Trump invited us to celebrate our country ‐ boldly and explicitly. It was, somehow, something previous presidents were too timid to do.

When Navy SEALS killed the late Osama bin Laden
... who is no longer with us, and won't be again...
in 2011, it took a visiting leader, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to urge us to celebrate, weeks later.

No longer. This is the greatness Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
promised to restore. Future presidents will bear a duty to do the same.

#1  Of course, the left hated it. This from Salon:

Trump's fake patriotism was sophomoric and insulting. So of course his voters loved it

Trump's Fourth of July celebration was soggy, lame and shamelessly ignorant. The Red Hat gargoyles ate it up

And that just to get your attention. The first paragraph:

Donald Trump’s Fourth of July speech was sophomoric. The fly-overs were anemic. The pairs of Bradley fighting vehicles and M1-A2 tanks were practically invisible. Everyone was soaked to the skin. They even played the hoary redneck anthem, “I’m Proud to Be an American.”

The author of this venom-filled piece was Lucian K. Truscott IV, his grandfather, Lucian Jr was a US Army general during World War II where he commanded the 3rd Infantry Division and later the Fifth Army in Italy.

Germany sentences mother to 5 years in prison for ISIS membership in Syria
[Rudaw] A German federal court sentenced a 32-year old female national to five years in prison on Friday for "joining a terrorist enclave" in Syria in 2013 where she remained until being detained by Kurdish security forces there.

The Stuttgart Higher Regional Court sentenced "Sabine Ulrike Sch." after a trial that began in late 2018 following her arrest months earlier in the southwestern German city of Baden-Baden.

Sabine lived in Syria from late 2013 until August 2017, according to court documents. German federal prosecutors charged she was a member of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) group which is considered by Berlin to be a "terrorist organization."

Prosecutors requested six years in prison and her lawyer argued for three years before the judge handed down the five-year sentence.

During the trial, she tried to renounce her ISIS membership: "I know that I have misbehaved and am ready to stand up for it," German daily newspaper Die Welt quoted her as saying.

However according to the German authorities, Sabine regularly blogged in support of the organization during her time in the so-called caliphate.

The mother of four children encouraged the use of suicide belts, posted photos of firearms, and also championed a messenger service used by ISIS to spread propaganda.

In the Islamic State, no child would have to grow up amid the "garbage of the Western world," prosecutors provided as evidence demonstrating her mindset with ISIS. She had said there were "no sins, drugs, or alcohol" in the caliphate.

According to government data, about one-third of the 1,050 people who left Germany to join jihadist groups in Syria or Iraq have returned to the country. Some 220 have reportedly been killed in the two countries.

Germany's WDR channel reported in June that an estimated 117 children who are likely German nationals are being held in detention centers in Syria and Iraq.

The facilities are under the control of Kurdish authorities: the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) security forces.

Prosecutors alleged that Sabine had entered Syria through The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
in December 2013, when she was immediately married to a "high-ranking ISIS fighter."

The two lived together under the rules of the caliphate; however, her unnamed husband was killed in fighting in December 2016. She remarried to another fighter in September 2017, according to the German investigation.

Cases like Sabine's underline the troubles faced by governments when allowing nationals to resettle in their home countries.

"In light of the knowingly porous EU external borders, it is especially worrying that the federal government appears to have taken no further measures to prevent the uncontrolled re-entry of obfuscated ISIS fighters," Linda Totenberg, who chairs the Interior Committee of the German parliament, told Die Welt Am Sonntag in June.
Deutsche Welle adds:
Before leaving for the Middle East, Sabine S. lived with the father of her two children in Berlin, converting to Islam at the age of 22. She left her two children in Berlin after becoming radicalized.

The court heard how Sabine S. had praised life in IS-controlled territory in several blogs, with the aim of recruiting others. She also received weapons training.

[Rudaw] Five Yezidi women and a 13-year-old girl rescued from Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....

"Today, we will hand over five women and a 13-year-old child to the Shingal Council and Yezidi Women League," Mahmoud Rasho, administrator in the Yezidi House in Hasakah, told a presser Thursday, according to Hawar News, a media outlet close to the ruling Kurdish authority of northern Syria.

Remains of murdered Utah student Mackenzie Lueck found
[FOXNEWS] The body of murdered University of Utah student Mackenzie Lueck was recovered 80 miles north of Salt Lake City, police said in a news conference Friday.

Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown said the remains of the 22-year-old college student were recovered Wednesday in Logan Canyon.

"In the wake of this tragic, tragic incident, I am relieved and grief-stricken to report that we have recovered Mackenzie Lueck," Brown said.

The announcement comes a week after 31-year-old Ayolla Ajayi was arrested in her killing.

Ajayi was charged with aggravated murder in the "tragic and horrific" killing of Lueck after authorities said the investigation uncovered a fresh dig area, charred female human tissue and items belonging to Lueck in Ajayi's backyard.

"After an exhaustive week of investigation, we are filing charges of aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, obstruction of justice and desecration of a body in the homicide of Mackenzie Lueck," Brown said last week.

"I will not be saying the killer’s name again," he added, noting that the crimes were "tragic and horrific".

Lueck, 23, disappeared after meeting an unknown individual around 3 a.m. on June 17 near a park in Salt Lake City, where she had been dropped off by a Lyft driver, according to police. Brown said Ajayi was the last person Lueck was communicating with before her disappearance and that phone records indicated they were both in the area around 3 a.m.

Brian Wolf, a Utah handyman, revealed to Fox News last month that the suspect in Lueck’s murder recently asked him to build a secret, soundproof room in his basement, complete with hooks on the walls. Wolf said Ajayi asked him about "building this weird room" in a small space in the basement and said some of the requests had set off alarms.

It would build entirely new rules and practices and change the thinking of reigning representatives. Now, it's just another dead white slut who met with diverse culture and couldn't take it.

This bastard claims to have escaped a violent dictatorship in Africa. The surname Ajayi is Nigerian (I think) and from the info so far, it seems he's probably used to dismembering, killing, burning evidence, etc. All he was worried about was the noise clearly, because this creature's natural environment allows for such activity easily, but in an Utah neighborhood he got caught. There's no record of past crimes but his DNA might link him to other crimes far away. His wife is claiming he's a psychopath and she'll testify against him now. But will the judge only look at his 'pristine' record and deliver hot air or justice ?

IAEA to hold emergency meeting on Iran on July 10
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The UN’s nuclear watchdog said on Friday it will hold an emergency meeting on Iran’s nuclear program next week, days after Tehran breached one of the limits set in a 2015 deal with world powers.

The meeting of the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s board of governors, which follows a US request, would be held "on 10 July at 14:30," an IAEA front man said.

Earlier, the US mission in Vienna said in a statement that the American Ambassador to International Organizations Jackie Wolcott had requested the special meeting to discuss Iran’s breach of the amount of enriched uranium it could stockpile.

The IAEA confirmed earlier this week that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
had breached the limit of 300kg for stockpiles of enriched uranium as stipulated under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The US statement described the news of the breach as "concerning".

"The international community must hold Iran’s regime accountable," the statement added.

Cops ID Blue Bell ice cream licker, won’t press charges because she’s a minor
[NYPOST] The cold case gripping the nation has finally been licked!

Texas cops on Friday said they found the girl who licked a tub of Blue Bell ice cream and then put it back on the shelf ‐ and she even confessed after being busted with the boyfriend who filmed her in the video gone viral.

"They were both forthcoming with what occurred and admitted to the act," Lufkin Police and Fire announced in a proud "CASE SOLVED" posting on Facebook on Friday.

The dairy detectives outlined the intricacies of their case, saying that a catfisher had deliberately misled everyone and bragged about it on Instagram ‐ slowing down them getting the real inside scoop on who was behind the gross viral video.

And as the girl is under 17, they also seem to have thawed on locking her in the cooler despite previously warning she could have faced up to 20 years in jail along with fines of up to $10,000.

Bringing a lowest-level lawsuit against the family, even if quickly dismissed, would bankrupt them PDQ and perhaps send an even more powerful message than an arrest.

Afghanistan
Turkey’s Govt Takes Over Five Afghan-Turk Schools In Afghanistan
[ToloNews] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
on Friday took over five additional schools previously run by the Gulenist Terror Group (FETÖ) in Afghanistan, the Daily Saba reported, after police raided an Afghan-Turk school in Kabul on Friday.

Afghan-Turk Kabul Ariana Boys High School, Kabul Girls High School, Kabul Darul-Ulum High School, Kabil International Barakat High School, and Kandahar Elementary School located in Kabul and Kandahar provinces were the institutions handed over to Turkey’s Maarif Foundation.

The Ottoman Turkish Embassy in Kabul in a tweet on Friday said it welcomes the smooth transfer today of four Afghan-Turk Schools in Kabul to Turkey, and appreciates the efforts of the Afghan officials to this end.

Government forces raided another Afghan-Turk high school in Kabul two years after they started their pressure on the educations institutions to hand their management to the Ottoman Turkish government.

The security forces surrounded the Afghan-Turk high school in Shah-e-Do Shamshira area in Kabul early on Friday morning at around 4 am local time, sources said. The area was cordoned off by security forces and no one, including news hounds, was allowed to get closer to the school.

The students’ parents said that the security forces used tear gas to disperse the families of the students who gathered in the area to protest the raid by the forces. They also claimed that some students were beaten by the security forces.

Previously, the Ottoman Turkish Maarif Foundation took over the full authorities of several FETÖ-linked schools in the war-torn country.

With the latest move, all 13 FETÖ-run schools in the country have been handed over to the Ottoman Turkish education body since an agreement signed between Ankara and Kabul on February 26, 2018 and ratified by the UN Secretariat.

Turkey established the Maarif Foundation in 2016 -- after a coup attempt -- to take over the administration of overseas schools linked to FETÖ. The foundation also establishes schools and education centers abroad, and a girls’ high school was launched in Kandahar within that scope.

Back in December 2017, Afghan cops raided an Afghan-Turk female high school in Taimani area in Kabul’s PD4 and surrounded the school for at least three hours. The teachers were arrested at that time.

The Ottoman Turkish government had asked the Afghan government to hand over these individuals to Turkey. But there is no extradition agreement between the two countries.

At least 600 boys and girls are enrolled in Afghan-Turk schools in Mazar-e-Sharif city. The management of the schools are supposed to be handed over from Cag Educational Foundation to the Ottoman Turkish government, but the students and teachers of the schools are resisting against the decision.

On February 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Afghanistan’s Ministry of Education and the Ottoman Turkish government, the management of the schools was officially handed over to President Erdogan’s administration.

Iran calls for piracy seizure of British ship if oil tanker isn't freed
[UPI] A top adviser to Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday encouraged forces to seize a British oil tanker as a response to London's taking an Iranian supertanker off the coast of Gibraltar.

British Royal Marines detained the Iranian vessel Thursday because officials said it was transporting oil to Syria, a violation of Europe

an Union sanctions. The Grace 1 tanker was boarded and detained by Marines off the British territory on the southern tip of Spain, Gibraltar minister Fabian Picardo said in a statement.

Officials said the seizure resulted from information the Gibraltar government received that gave it "reasonable grounds" to suspect the vessel was violating EU sanctions.

Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaee said a British tanker should be taken in retaliation. Rezaee demanded the Iranian ship's immediate release and called those who seized it "bullies and thugs."

"If Britannia doesn't return the Iranian tanker, the duty of responsible [Iranians] is to seize a British oil tanker in a retaliatory measure," he said.

Josep Borrell, Spain's acting foreign minister, said the United States had asked Britannia to detain the ship.

Iran Foreign Ministry front man Abbas Mousavi said via Twitter British Ambassador Robert Macaire was summoned to his office over the "illegal seizure." In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said it told Macaire the detainment was "tantamount to maritime banditry" and demanded its release.

Insecurity Increases In Western Provinces: Officials
[ToloNews] Insecurity and conflicts have increased in the western provinces of Afghanistan following different attacks by the Talibs, several officials confirmed, as the seventh round of the peace talks is ongoing between the US and the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in Doha.

Three districts in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
, two districts in Badghis, six districts in Ghor and the outskirts of the city of Farah have witnessed heavy festivities between security forces and the Taliban in recent weeks, officials said.

The power transmission lines to Qala-e-Naw, the center of Ghor, have been cut off by turbans for the past two weeks which officials say is a result of an increase in security.

Local officials said that the districts of Chesht, Pashtun Zarghoon, and Gulran in Herat were recently attacked by the Taliban and according to the provincial governor, imported muscle were also among them.

"The number of foreign snuffies has increased because the enemy has lost its morale and has no option but to seek the help of those countries which are supporting them," the Herat governor Abdul Qayum Rahimi said.

However,
Switzerland makes more than cheese...
Herat Police Chief, Gen. Aminullah Amarkhail, said that the security forces have been able to reduce the threats.

"We supported Parsi district and the security forces are there. We launched an operation in Pashtun Zarghoon district for one week and reduced the threats there," Amarkhail said.

In Ghor, as another main province in the west of Afghanistan, six districts have witnessed the Taliban’s presence and are under threat.

"The western and northwestern parts of Ghor province are under threat by the Taliban over the past ten days but we have not seen any step by the security forces to overcome the concerns," said Abdul Hamid Natiqi, member of Ghor Provincial Council.

"Security forces checkpoints have relocated in some areas and so far, we have not received any report about harm to the security forces," said Abdulhai Khatibi, a front man for Ghor governor.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella opened her mouth at precisely the wrong moment...
some members of Farah Provincial Council said that the Taliban has arrived on the outskirts of the city of Farah and are threatening the center of the province.

"The turbans have increased their pressure... Farah residents are very much concerned about this," said Shah Mahmood Naeemi, deputy head of Farah Provincial Council.

Critics said that there is a need for more attention to the security of the west zone by the relevant institutions.

Dutch Christians rebuff officials seeking labeling of Israeli settlement goods
Stay strong, guys.
[IsraelTimes] Two groups say labeling has become a political tool to pressure Israel and refuse to comply.

Christian Zionist importers of Israeli goods declined to comply with a government directive to apply special labeling for settlement products.

The exchange occurred last month between the van Oordt family, which runs the Israel Products Center and the Christians for Israel group in Nijkerk, near Amsterdam, and representatives of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Roger van Oordt, director of the Christians for Israel group, wrote Wednesday in a statement.

The officials requested to visit the store and urge van Oordt to apply the labels, as per regulations adopted in 2015 by the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Commission, which described the regulations as designed to give shoppers accurate information about product provenance.

Israel and Jewish groups protested the regulations as an attempt to isolate and financially hurt the Israeli settlements. The regulations also applied to the Golan Heights and eastern Jerusalem, which Israel captured in the 1967 Six-Day War. The Paleostinian Authority said the labeling regulations were a welcome buffer against what it considers Israeli land theft.

"Labeling was created to ensure food safety but has become a political tool to pressure the Jewish state," said van Oordt, whose outfit helps bring in 120,000 bottles of Israeli wine each year, as well as many tons of Dead Sea cosmetics and other merchandise.

"These are anti-Jewish regulations to me. They mean separating products made by Jews and Arabs," he wrote.

The regulations are binding,
...given the rest of the sentence, I can only imagine the journalist meant non-binding here...
but the European Commission and Dutch government have limited recourse against countries and businesses that don’t implement them.

Trump won't lose Texas in 2020, but who will win it in 2024?

And what will it cost him in other states to hang on to Texas?

So much for the mindless boosterism of those "conservatives" who crow about population growth in red states, while failing to address what the population is turning into.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Israel’s energy minister voiced frustration on Friday with what he called Leb’s failure to agree to US-mediated talks on setting their maritime border, suggesting Iran-backed Hezbollah was applying pressure on Beirut.

Senior US official David Satterfield has been shuttling between Leb and Israel in an effort to launch the talks between the countries, which have remained formally in a state of war since Israel was founded in 1948.

Israel and Leb have long disagreed on border demarcations in the eastern Mediterranean, an issue that gained prominence in the past decade when large deposits of natural gas were found there.

Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said on June 19 he expected US-mediated talks to start within a month.

On Wednesday, Leb insisted any demarcation of its sea boundary with Israel be implemented only as part of a wider package including the land border - something Israel has previously ruled out.

Steinitz sounded less upbeat on Friday.

"(The) Lebanese on the one hand really want to develop their natural resources, and the unresolved dispute with Israel is disruptive for them - for us too, but for them more," Steinitz told Tel Aviv radio station 102 FM.

But Steinetz added Leb could also be facing "internal pressure, that they (are) under the sway of fear of Hezbollah," referring to Leb’s most powerful armed force. Hezbollah is also part of the Lebanese coalition government.

Car Explosion In Southern Turkey Kills Three
[Jpost] A car went kaboom! in southern The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
near the border with Syria on Friday, killing three Syrian people, security sources said.

The explosion took place in the town of Reyhanli, and Ottoman Turkish media quoted the local governor as saying the cause of the earth-shattering kaboom was being investigated.

One person was also maimed in the blast, the sources said.
Rudaw adds:
Separately, a Ottoman Turkish military vehicle was targeted by a roadside kaboom on Friday in the Kurdish province of Siirt, southeastern The Sick Man of Europe Turkey.

State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) claimed that the bomb had been laid by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The PKK has not claimed the attack.

Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were maimed in the earth-shattering kaboom, according to AA.

3 stabbed, 16 injured during fireworks at Chicago's Navy Pier
[UPI] Three people were stabbed and at least 16 others were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries following Fourth of July fireworks at reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
's Navy Pier, police said.

The stabbing occurred Thursday following an "altercation" while the more than a dozen people hospitalized were maimed in a stampede to the pier's exit, Chicago Police Department front man Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement.

Chicago Police front man Rocco Alito told NBC Chicago that the stampede occurred as people were exiting the venue when someone yelled there was a shooting.

But there was no shooting, he said, adding that reports a person was shot are not accurate.

"There was no one shot," he said. "That individual sustained a puncture wound from an overturned table, so there is no one shot here at Navy Pier."

Earlier, Guglielmi said there were "heavy crowds" at the pier while the Navy Pier said it had to close its doors before the event even started as it was at "capacity."

Alito said the three people who were stabbed were not cooperating with the investigation.

Drunk British Air flight attendants ran naked through Singapore hotel
[NYPOST] A trio of British Airways flight attendants ran drunk and naked through a Singapore hotel during a layover "orgy," a UK paper alleges ‐ and now they face losing their jobs.

"There were some frisky crew on this plane," insiders told The Sun.

"There was snogging and stripping and fumbling between the crew, who were all naked."

Ready to party after a 14-hour flight from the UK, the trio and their crewmates had smuggled cabin booze off the airplane so they wouldn’t have to pay sky-high Singapore prices for alcohol, a spy told the paper.

Once at their hotel, "It didn’t take long for ’spin the bottle’ to start," the spy said.

"It’s a drinking game with ludicrous and increasingly daring forfeits designed to get everyone steaming drunk."

The three called-out crewmates, a woman and two men, were suspended and face possible firing after a supervisor reported them for allegedly running through the hotel without their clothing on a dare.

They romped down a corridor, banging on the doors of other guests, The Sun said.

The expose includes a video clip showing a woman in what appears to be a British Airways uniform exposing her cleavage.

Algeria’s ex-police chief detained in corruption probe
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Algeria’s former police chief Abdelghani Hamel has been placed in provisional detention over alleged "diversion of funds and illicit enrichment," state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
said on Friday.

Hamel, who was fired in June last year, appeared before an investigating magistrate in central Algiers, it said.

Two of Hamel’s sons were also detained overnight, while his wife was provisionally released in the same case, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
reported.

In total, the examining magistrate will question 19 people in the case, including ex-civil servants and real estate agents, according to the official APS news agency.

Former president Abdelaziz Bouteflika
... 10th president-for-life of Algeria. He was elected in 1999 and is currently on his third or fourth term. Maybe it's the fifth....
’s decision to fire Hamel last year came as a surprise, since he had been viewed at the time by analysts and the Algerian press as a potential successor.

Hamel was fired due to a cocaine trafficking scandal, which tarnished numerous officials including magistrates.

The ailing Bouteflika was himself forced to step down on April 2, after weeks of street protests against his two-decade rule.

But protests have continued, demanding the fall of other regime insiders and the establishment of independent institutions ahead of credible elections.

Algeria’s legal system has launched a series of probes into corruption and embezzlement, targeting state officials and powerful businessmen close to the ex-president.

Italy defiant as two migrant rescue ships try to dock
[DW] Rome has blocked the entry of Italian and German vessels carrying more than 110 migrants colonists. The decision paves the way for another standoff with migrant rescue groups after one ship recently forced its way into Lampedusa.

The Italian government on Friday refused to allow two migrant rescue ships to land, just hours after the country's coasties intervened to pick up a third group of migrants colonists off the coast of Lampedusa.

Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said the Alan Kurdi, a vessel operated by the German charity Sea-Eye and carrying 65 migrants colonists, could not dock at an Italian port.

"They won't come to Italia, there is a Maltese port available, or they can choose between Tunisia and Germany," Salvini was cited by Italian media as saying.

RESCUE SHIPS WAIT
The government also denied permission for the ship ALEX, owned by the Italian humanitarian group Mediterranea Saving Humans (MSH), to enter Italian territorial waters.

The vessel picked up 54 migrants colonists from a rubber dinghy off Libya on Thursday.

Malta has said it will take the migrants colonists if Rome takes a similar number already landed in Malta.

But MSH refused to sail the ship to Malta because of the distance and psychological conditions on board.

The rescue ship Alan Kurdi is named after the three-year-old Syrian boy who drowned in the Mediterranean in 2015

The charity warned the Italian government it was acting unlawfully as Rome can't ban an Italian-flagged shop from entering its waters.

COAST GUARD INTERVENES
Salvini's latest remarks come just a day after Italia's coasties brought ashore 55 migrants colonists rescued in waters off the island of Lampedusa on Thursday. The migrants colonists had been transferred from the Sea-Watch 3, a German vessel, which rescued them in Libyan waters.

The same ship was involved in a 17-day standoff with the Italian government, which climaxed on Saturday when the captain defied orders and forced her way to a dock in Lampedusa's main port. She was arrested for disobeying orders and allegedly aiding illegal immigration.

Since the election of a populist government in 2018, Italia has taken a hard line on accepting migrants colonists rescued in the Mediterranean.

Salvini has closed ports to boats arriving with migrants colonists. Italian authorities have insisted that migrants colonists rescued in Libyan waters are the responsibility of the Libyan coasties, and have accused NGOs who rescue migrants colonists off the North African coast of facilitating people smuggling.

Iran will increase the level of uranium enrichment from July 7
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Senior Khamenei advisor Ali Akbar Velayati said that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
will increase the level of uranium enrichment starting July 7, Iranian Mehr News Agency
...And if you can't believe Mehr News Agency who can you believe?...
(MNA) reported, citing the institute for preserving and publishing the books of Iranian Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

Velyati said that Iran gave the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
ans a lot of time after the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, but they did not abide by their obligations so far, despite their promises to do so, according to MNA.

The senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei also said that from July 7, the rate of uranium enrichment will exceed the %3.67 permitted under the deal, adding that Tehran "could increase the uranium enrichment level to %5 to provide fuel to Bushehr nuclear reactor."

Iran has already implemented the first phase of breaking the nuclear deal by increasing the stockpile of enriched uranium above the 300kg outlined by the JCPOA, and has warned that the second phase of its actions will begin on July 7.

Nike Execs Stop Breathing After Kaepernick Points Out Racists In 18th Century Also Breathed
[Babylon, yes, Bee] BEAVERTON, OR‐All upper management personnel and top executives at Nike's headquarters have, sadly, passed away after they voluntarily stopped breathing.

They did this because Colin Kaepernick called their offices in a rage once he discovered they were breathing since racists in the 18th century also breathed.

"I thought we understood one another," Kaepernick said before quoting Frederick Douglass out of context in a passioned speech to the entire Nike board. "But then I heard you guys were still breathing. I thought you were better than that. You know who else breathed? Racists like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Benjamin Franklin."

"Honestly, if you want me to endorse your brand the next time I play a pickup game of football at the local park, you're gonna need to cancel your breathing." One exec attempted to protest, but Kaepernick wasn't having it. "I said your breathing is CANCELLED."

Realizing they had very little choice, the whole Nike leadership team saluted one another, held their noses, passed out, and died.

"Totally worth it," one exec said before the blackness took him.

Wife hacks off her husband's penis after he refused to have sex with her as punishment for her heavy drinking in Uganda
[MAIL] A wife slashed her husband's penis off in Uganda after he refused to have sex with her as punishment for her continuous heavy drinking.

Beatrice Acen, 35, returned home plastered at 10pm on June 30 and proceeded to demand sex from her husband, Moses Okot, a 46-year-old peasant farmer.

Mr Okot said that he had returned home from hunting during the day, eaten and gone to sleep when his wife attacked him.

On her return to the house she called out to him to open the door for her. He was already asleep and awoke to 'find my pants wetted with blood,' he said.

Mrs Acen is now on the run, according to the Daily Monitor.

The victim believes that his wife resorted to this drastic measure due to his longstanding method of punishing her for her 'alcoholism.'

'As a man, I would no longer tolerate such, so I decided to deny her sex with hope that she would reform,' he said.

Man dies after strapping two pillows to his back and asking a friend to shoot him with a shotgun so he could get out of doing community service in Turkey
[MAIL] A man has died in Turkey after he strapped two pillows to his back and asked pals to shoot him with a shotgun so that he could avoid community service.

Zafer Kuzu had been sentenced to community service after he was convicted of causing 'wounding' in the north-eastern Turkish city of Erzurum.

The 24-year-old had allegedly asked his friends to hospitalise him to sidestep having to serve the rest of his sentence.

Kuzu and two friends decided to use a shotgun and he reportedly strapped two pillows to his back as protection.

According to local media, one of the victim's friends shot Kuzu at close range and the wayward buckshot seriously injured him.

His friends tried to take him to a nearby hospital, but he died before they left the house.

Why is Germany putting an Afghan man on trial for war crimes?
[DW] An Afghan man is facing charges of war crimes at a Munich court. He isn't a German citizen, nor were his alleged crimes committed in Germany. So why is he being tried in the country?
It’s an acceptable excuse to get rid of at least some of the undesirables who’ve strolled into the country demanding to be accepted, I suspect.
A former Afghan military officer is on trial in Munich this week, accused of torturing captured fighters in late 2013 and early 2014. The 26-year-old allegedly mocked, defiled and desecrated the corpse of an enemy commander in front of civilians.

Since 2002, the International Criminal Code has been incorporated into the German legal system. It enables the German judiciary to lead prosecutions of certain crimes that violate international law, even if they were not committed on German soil. The most serious crimes that the law applies to are genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression.

Iraq
Hashd al-Shaabi ‘tightening noose’ around ISIS in Khanaqin
[Rudaw] Shiite Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitaries launched an operation against remnants of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (ISIS) around the disputed town of Khanaqin on Thursday, according to officials.

Sadiq Husseini, head of the Diyala Provincial Council’s Security Committee, told Rudaw the anti-ISIS operation encompasses the Alwand area in Khanaqin "to look for and destroy their positions".

Husseini said the aim of the operation was launched to fill the security vacuum which has opened up between Iraqi and Kurdish lines and been exploited by holy warriors.

Najat Tani, a member of the Diyala Provincial Council, told Rudaw the Hashd operation is vital to stem attempts by gangs to destabilize the disputed territory.

Al-Hashed.net, a website belonging to the Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitaries, confirmed the operation, claiming it was "tightening the noose" around ISIS.

"Hashd’s Diyala Operations Command launched a sweeping operation to the banks of Alwand River in Khanaqin. The operation will tighten the noose around ISIS remnants and prevent their infiltration into the area," Talib al-Mosawi, the head of the Hash’s Diyala operations command, told al-Hashed.net.

Hashd al-Shaabi has "observed" the movements of ISIS holy warriors along the riverbanks, he said.

Khanaqin is a disputed territory claimed by both Baghdad and Erbil. It was under control of the Peshmerga from 2014 until October 16, 2017, when the Kurdish forces were forced out by an Iraqi offensive.

Since then, security conditions in the town have rapidly deteriorated. Hundreds of dunams of cropland have been burned in recent weeks. Officials have blamed holy warriors for starting the fires.

Dozens of Iraqi troops and civilians have been killed in bad boy attacks in recent months.

Many villages in the district have been evacuated as a result of security threats.

Residents have called for the return of Peshmerga and Asayesh security forces to help secure the area.

Hashd al-Shaabi is a network of predominantly Shiite militias established following a 2014 fatwa from Iraq’s highest Shiite religious authority, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, in response to the rise of ISIS.

The Hashd was brought under the umbrella of the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) following a 2016 parliamentary decree. However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
it continued to largely operate independently of the state.

Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi announced a decree on Monday calling for the Hashd to be fully integrated into the Iraqi Armed Forces.

Big Convention Pulls Out Of San Francisco, Citing Unsafe Streets
[CBS SF] Tourists are turning away from the City by the Bay, while a huge medical convention has cancelled plans to meet in San Francisco, saying its members don't feel safe on the streets.

Locals may feel comfortable, but visitors are often shocked when the reality of San Francisco's streets is a far cry from its postcard image.

Tourists once took home memories of famed cable cars. These days, too often it is of the image of someone begging, or dancing in circles, or just wandering around the streets intoxicated or mentally ill.

"You can smell it," says one tourist.

"I come from a third world county and it is not as bad as this," says another.

Now it's seriously affecting the city's biggest business: tourism.

"They feel their safety is as risk because they are seeing so many people with issues," says Kevin Carroll of the San Francisco Hotel Council.

"They see people laying on the streets ‐ petty crimes going on in the streets," says Joe D] Alessandro with Travel SF.

Tourism rakes in $9 billion per year in San Francisco, so officials have been reluctant to go public with the problem. In part, it is because it makes the city look bad and that's bad for business.

"Restaurants, taxis, people spend more money outside hotels than inside and for that reason it is something we should all be concerned about," says Carroll.

A major medical association has pulled its $40 million convention out of San Francisco over the state of the streets.

7,000 protest on Gaza border after latest ‘understandings’ between Israel, Hamas
This seems to be their rock-bottom number: the hardcore unemployed who cannot otherwise earn a few pennies plus Hamas team leaders and some romantic boys.
[IsraelTimes] Army says some burn tires, hurl rocks and bombs at soldiers; Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-run health ministry says 40 injured by IDF response; 2 Paleostinians nabbed crossing border with knife.

Nearly 7,000 Paleostinians participated in weekly protests along the Gazoo

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. border Friday, the Israeli military said, the first demonstration since Israel reached new ceasefire understandings with Hamas.

The Israel Defense Forces said some of the protesters burned tires and hurled rocks as well as bombs at soldiers.

Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry reported that 40 demonstrators were maimed by Israeli troops, at least 16 of whom were maimed by live fire.

Paleostinian media said a tear gas canister fired by the Israeli army hit a Red Islamic Thingy ambulance near Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Two Gazooks were arrested after crossing the security fence, with one of them carrying a knife, according to the IDF.

Last Friday, Israel and the Gaza-ruling Hamas terror group reached a new ceasefire agreement. An Israeli official confirmed that the country had agreed to a number of economic concessions for Gaza in exchange for an end to arson attacks and other violence along the border.

Israel also agreed to extend the fishing zone off the Gaza coast to 15 nautical miles and to restore the supply of fuel to the Paleostinian territory, the official said.

Since the deal went into effect there has been a marked drop in the number of airborne arson attacks, though they have not stopped completely.
