Bills Fans Throw Sex Toy Onto Field During Patriots Game … Again
[Boston.CBSLocal] Buffalo Bills fans have some unique traditions. Their penchant for throwing each other through folding tables in parking lots is well known around the world, but in recent years, they’ve added a new practice whenever the Patriots come to town.
Perhaps Bills fans would like to see the game played differently?
That tradition? Throwing a sex toy onto the field during games against the Patriots.
Maybe the Pats should start a new tradition of throwing it back into the stands. Might need to get one of the Bisons to do that if the toy doesn't have laces.
It began in 2016, happened again in 2017, and sure enough, with the Bills hosting Monday Night Football on national TV, it happened again in 2018.

Clearly, the threat of a lifetime ban that was put out as a warning in 2016 has not slowed down the production from Buffalo’s strong-armed rubber hurlers, because the tradition has now lived on for another year.

The throw into the end zone wasn’t even the first sex toy toss of the night, as an earlier attempt came up a bit short.

Weird stuff happens when the Patriots visit the Bills. This ritual ranks among the weirdest.
I personally can't think of anything weirder, but I'm sure Bills fans will come up with something.

Report: More than half of immigrants on welfare
[USAToday] More than half of the nation's immigrants receive some kind of government welfare, a figure that's far higher than the native-born population's, according to a report to be released Wednesday.
I still remember all the leftist poo-pooing this notion a few years ago. Nevermind California is so far in the hole it has gone out the other side of the earth with its budget deficit on this. Study will be declared racist in 5 minutes.
About 51% of immigrant-led households receive at least one kind of welfare benefit, including Medicaid, food stamps, school lunches and housing assistance, compared to 30% for native-led households, according to the report from the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that advocates for lower levels of immigration.

Those numbers increase for households with children, with 76% of immigrant-led households receiving welfare, compared to 52% for the native-born.

The findings are sure to fuel debate on the presidential campaign trail as Republican candidates focus on changing the nation's immigration laws, from calls for mass deportations to ending birthright citizenship.

Steven Camarota, director of research at the center and author of the report, said that's a much-needed conversation to make the country's immigration system more "selective."
Hell, just enforce the current laws and punish businesses that hire illegals with heavy fines that can put them out of business. Would end a lot of this bullshit right away.
"This should not be understood as some kind of defect or moral failing on the part of immigrants," Camarota said about the findings. "Rather, what it represents is a system that allows a lot of less-educated immigrants to settle in the country, who then earn modest wages and are eligible for a very generous welfare system."

Linda Chavez agrees with Camarota that the country's welfare system is too large and too costly. But Chavez, a self-professed conservative who worked in President Reagan's administration, said it's irresponsible to say immigrants are taking advantage of the country's welfare system any more than native-born Americans.

Chavez said today's immigrants, like all other immigrant waves in the country's history, start off poorer and have lower levels of education, making it unfair to compare their welfare use to the long-established native-born population. She said immigrants have larger households, making it more likely that one person in that household will receive some kind of welfare benefit. And she said many benefits counted in the study are going to U.S.-born children of immigrants, skewing the findings even more.

"When you take all of those issues into account, (the report) is less worrisome," she said.

Chavez, president of the Becoming American Institute, a conservative group that advocates for higher levels of legal immigration to reduce illegal immigration, said politicians should be careful about using the data. Rather than focus on the fact that immigrants are initially more dependent on welfare than the U.S.-born, she said they should focus on studies that show what happens to the children of those immigrants.

"These kids who get subsidized school lunches today will go on to graduate high school ... will go on to college and move up to the middle class of America," Chavez said. "Every time we have a nativist backlash in our history, we forget that we see immigrants change very rapidly in the second generation."

Much of Trump immigration plan not 'radical' in GOP circles

The center's report is based on 2012 data from the Census Bureau's Survey of Income and Program Participation. It includes immigrants who have become naturalized citizens, legal permanent residents, those on short-term visas and undocumented immigrants.

Camarota said one of the most shocking findings from the report was the high number of native-born Americans also on welfare. About 76% of immigrant households with children are on welfare, but so are 52% of native-born households with children.

"Most people have a sense that if you were to work for $10 an hour, 40 hours a week, you couldn't be receiving welfare, could you? You couldn't be living in public housing, could you?" he said. "The answer is yes, you can. That's one of the most surprising things about this study."

#1  How do you define 'immigrant'. The current trend, unfortunately for legal immigrants, is the include illegal aliens (who are not immigrations) as 'immigrants' because it supports certain narratives.
My assumption is that they included illegal aliens in that number of 'immigrants on welfare'.
Let's see the numbers for 'legal immigrants' verses 'illegal aliens' - and I'll bet the numbers are far different.

Purely anecdotal, but the impression I had living in Houston was when Central American immigrants (legal or otherwise) first arrived, they were solid Democrats due to the free stuff. After they got some skin in the game, like a job and started paying taxes, they tended to drift Republican.

Why American Leaders Persist In Waging Losing Wars
BLUF:
[TomDispatch] As America enters the 18th year of its war in Afghanistan and its 16th in Iraq, the war on terror continues in Yemen, Syria, and parts of Africa, including Libya, Niger, and Somalia. Meanwhile, the Trump administration threatens yet more war, this time with Iran. (And given these last years, just how do you imagine that’s likely to turn out?) Honestly, isn’t it time Americans gave a little more thought to why their leaders persist in waging losing wars across significant parts of the planet? So consider the rest of this piece my attempt to do just that.

Let’s face it: profits and power should be classified as perennial reasons why U.S. leaders persist in waging such conflicts. War may be a racket, as General Smedley Butler claimed long ago, but who cares these days since business is booming? And let’s add to such profits a few other all-American motivations. Start with the fact that, in some curious sense, war is in the American bloodstream. As former New York Times war correspondent Chris Hedges once put it, "War is a force that gives us meaning." Historically, we Americans are a violent people who have invested much in a self-image of toughness now being displayed across the "global battlespace." (Hence all the talk in this country not about our soldiers but about our "warriors.") As the bumper stickers I see regularly where I live say: "God, guns, & guts made America free." To make the world freer, why not export all three?

Synagogue member lectures Andrea Mitchell for trying to politicize shooting (video)
[Right Scoop] MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell got a nice lecture from a congregant of the Pittsburgh synagogue where 11 people were massacred over the weekend. She was trying to make the point that it’s not just our "political leaders" with hateful rhetoric, but people at political rallies starting in 2016 (DING DING DING Trump!) have been cheering hate speech. Obviously she’s referring to Trump and the people at his rallies.

But the synagogue member hit back, lecturing Mitchell oh why it’s just not helpful to try and politicize a shooting like this.

Weekly Standard Founder And Editor-At-Large Bill Kristol: ‘America Has A Fox News Problem'
[The Federalist] In a tweet sent Monday morning, the founder and editor-at-large of The Weekly Standard declared that "The United States of America has a Fox News problem."

Bill Kristol quoted a tweet from NBC’s John Harwood, who had quoted a tweet by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski linking to an article about Fox Business’s Lou Dobbs. In a segment about the thousands of migrants traveling to the U.S. border with the intention to enter illegally, a guest described the caravan as "highly organized," and implied they may be getting help from employees who work for the "Soros-occupied State Department," an obvious reference to government officials being sympathetic towards liberal mega-donor George Soros’s push for open borders.

This has somehow been interpreted to mean something sinister and anti-Semitic, since Soros is Jewish and was targeted by the bomb package-sender last week. The Washington Post blamed right-wing "conspiracy theories" about the caravan organizers for the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday, where 11 people were killed.

James Carville: 'The caravan is the Ebola (non-news event) of 2018'
[Washington Examiner] Longtime Clinton loyalist and Democratic operative James Carville said Monday that the migrant caravan is "the Ebola of 2018."

In recent weeks, news of a large group of Central American migrants pressing into Mexico on their way to the southern border of the U.S. has gripped headlines, particularly in right-leaning media. President Trump has called the caravan, which is still weeks away from getting close to the U.S.-Mexico border, an "invasion," and his administration is poised to send thousands of troops to help prevent migrants from illegally entering the country.

During a discussion on foreign policy and the 2018 midterm elections in Washington, D.C., Carville said he sees a similar pattern now to the "crisis" that was Ebola in 2014, when the last midterm elections took place.

"The caravan is the Ebola of 2018," Carville said. "And I bet the caravan is out of the news a week from tomorrow."

The midterm elections are on Nov. 6. Carville said he expects foreign policy to be a nonfactor for voters this year.

The Ebola outbreak led to more than 11,000 deaths in West Africa between 2014 and 2016, predominantly in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Ebola remains a deadly presence in Africa, with a recent outbreak in Congo.

Lindsey Graham warns Mexico: Stop the caravan or trade deal is at risk
[Washington Examiner] Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., warned Mexico that their trade agreement with the U.S. and Canada may be in jeopardy if the country doesn’t help Trump stymie a caravan of migrants from Central America who are headed to the U.S.

"To our friends in Mexico, if you don’t help Trump stop this caravan, you’re going to pay a price in Congress when it comes to this trade deal," Graham told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham Monday evening.

Congress has yet to vote on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which would replace the North American Free Trade Agreement. The new deal offers adjustments such as requiring 75 percent of a car's components to be made in North America in order to be exempt from tariffs.

Congress has 60 days to approve the deal after it has been officially signed, which is expected to occur later next month. Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, has indicated that Congress may not address the legislation until 2019.

The Trump administration announced Monday that 5,200 troops will be U.S.-Mexican border before the caravan of thousands of migrants arrives. The troops are expected to assist with engineering projects, and constructing temporary barriers and fencing, among other tasks, but not U.S. immigration law enforcement.

I’m not talking about the esprit de corps of a community and a dedication to preserving one’s culture. I’m talking about the irrational dedication to one’s own "tribe," not just shunning others, but chauvinistically portraying all others as evil and intent on destroying you.

Anti-Semitic terrorist Robert Bowers hated Jews. He was a conspiracy theorist and Holocaust denier. He claimed President Trump was being manipulated by the Jews and the "deep state," and claimed Jews were "hostile invaders."

He wasn’t a Trump fan. He wasn’t a Republican. He was a terrorist nutjob, who decided to wreak havoc in a community of peaceable people gathered to worship and pray.

And yet, there will be partisan loons who will claim that Bowers was spurred by the rhetoric of President Trump. There will be other loons who blame Republicans, and yet others who blame white people.

Much like there are now those blaming Trump, his rhetoric, and his truthful, if blunt, condemnations of the mainstream media for glamorizing lies, pushing bigotry, and publicizing attacks on not just the President, but Republicans writ large.

As Nina said mentioned in her post just a little bit ago, unhinged leftists are already on the warpath, blaming everyone from President Trump to conservatives for the shooting.

#3  Yeah, the way things have been going, tribalism is becoming the rational choice.

If several groups unite around a tribal identity, while one group remains diffuse and disorganized because tribalism is icky, what will likely happen to the latter?

I get the feeling that all this handwringing over tribalism is happening because the rubes and normies are finally getting in on the action.

It was OK when it was just the usual suspects designated victim groups; but it's simply unacceptable when the people who actually enable this society to function start to do it.

Bomb Suspect Cesar Sayoc And Stormy Daniels Worked at the Same Strip Club (VIDEO)
[Townhall] In a really strange turn of events, it has been discovered that bombing suspect Cesar Sayoc worked at Ultra Gentleman's Club in West Palm Beach, FL, the same strip club that Stormy Daniels performed at back in April, WPTV reported.

Sayoc worked as a DJ at the club on Thursday afternoon and was arrested on Friday.

According to the club's manager, Stacey Saccal, Sayoc had worked as a DJ for the past two months. She had received no complaints about him from other staff members and he seemed like a "nice guy."

"I never knew that his van was covered in political stickers. I thought it was an ice cream truck," Saccal told WPTV, noting that he parked far from the club.

there are only a relatively small number of strip clubs left in the US since the internet began offering virtual stuff

Caribbean-Latin America
United Nations: Trump Must Allow Caravan Migrants into America
[Breitbart] International officials with the United Nations (UN) Refugee Agency say President Trump must allow a caravan of Central Americans into the United States to seek asylum.

As Breitbart News has chronicled, migrants with an at least 7,000-strong caravan have repeatedly admitted that they are traveling to the U.S. to seek jobs, re-enter the U.S. as previously deported illegal aliens, and flee crime. One previously deported illegal alien with the caravan even admitted that he was convicted of attempted murder in the U.S. None of these cases are eligible asylum claims.

The UN Refugee Agency, though, is commanding Trump to accept the caravan of refugees, which some estimates now put at 10,000-strong. In an interview with Voice of America, a spokesman for the UN Refugee Agency said:
Our position globally is that the individuals who are fleeing persecution and violence need to be given access to territory and protection including refugee status and determination procedure. And, if the people who are fleeing persecution and violence enter Mexico, they need to be provided access to the Mexican asylum system and those entering the United States need to be provided access to the American asylum system. [Emphasis added]

As Breitbart News reported, the UN Refugee Agency is aiding the caravan of migrants, putting 45 UN workers on the ground with the group of Central Americans.

President Trump is expected to sign an executive order this week that will halt the caravan entering the U.S. on the legal grounds of national security.

Currently, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million legal and illegal immigrants every year, with more than 70 percent coming to the country through the process known as "chain migration," whereby newly naturalized citizens are allowed to bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the country.

Since 2000, more than 1.5 million foreign refugees have been resettled across the U.S. ‐ outpacing the population of Philadelphia. Also, there have been more than 4.1 million legal immigrants admitted to the U.S. from refugee-producing countries since 2000.

Posted by: European Conservative || 10/30/2018 7:48 Comments || Top||

#7  EC is correct, although there are a few rules in the US.

(US) Asylum has three basic requirements that must all be met.

  • First, an asylum applicant must establish that he or she fears persecution in their home country.

  • Second, the applicant must prove that he or she would be persecuted on account of one of five protected grounds: race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or particular social group.

  • Third, an applicant must establish that the government is either involved in the persecution, or unable to control the conduct of private actors.

The term 'Asylum' is batted around in a lot of the conversations that one hears, but the majority of folks don't have a clue as to what it actually is or the requirements.

Asylum is NOT a free pass or welcome mat. It is NOT the idea that one can simply enter a country and claim 'Sanctuary'.

Trump should listen to the advice former U.S. Senator Dr. Tom Coburn memorialized at Forbes last year after the Orlando nightclub massacre: the non-military, non-law enforcement – paper pushing administrative federal agencies – are the ones who should be subject to stricter gun control laws, not the general public.

“Acting upon intelligence reports, Nineveh police arrested 17 IS members, who are wanted by Iraqi judiciary on terror charges,” Baghdad Today website quoted spokesman for the Iraqi Interior Ministry Maj. Gen. Saad Maan as saying.

Four of the arrestees are facing charges of forcibly seizing houses of security forces and Christians during the group’s capture of Mosul city in 2014, the spokesman said, adding that the arrests were made in al-Intisar, al-Mithaq, al-Quds and al-Teseen districts in Mosul’s eastern side.

“Not less that 34 Islamic State fighters were found dead inside a mass grave in Al-Aiadiya district in western Mosul,” the sources said.

They are believed to be murdered by IS leaders after they rejected to fight against security forces during a military operation for the liberation of Tel Afar district in Nineveh, the sources noted.

Security troops ran into tens of mass graves at regions recaptured from IS. More than 70 graves, including Yazidis killed by IS, were also found.

Syrian Kurds boost fight against IS group in east after setback
[AlAhram] Syrian Kurdish special forces have joined an offensive against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
hard boyz in eastern Syria, a commander said, after the jihadists recovered ground from U.S.-backed forces in a fierce counter attack.

Islamic State (IS) group launched the assault against the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Deir al-Zor region near the Iraqi border on Friday. Iraqi Shi'ite militias have reinforced their side of the frontier in response.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said around 70 SDF fighters were killed in the assault which Islamic State launched under cover of a sandstorm and drew on jacket wallahs and female jihadists. The SDF says it lost 14 fighters.

A front man for the U.S.-led coalition said Islamic State had been able to regain some ground but the SDF would "come back with coalition support".

An SDF commander attributed the setback partly to the relative inexperience of the Arab SDF forces which have carried out much of the fighting against hardened Islamic State hard boyz in Deir al-Zor.

While the Arab fighters of the Deir al-Zor Military Council had been able to make advances to a "certain level", Islamic State is resisting even more fiercely as the offensive closes in on its last pockets.

This required the deployment of special forces from the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), which spearheads the SDF, and its female affiliate the YPJ.

"We were forced to draw on experienced fighters from the YPG and YPJ," the commander said. "They will be relied on to complete the campaign," the commander said.

The fighting is the latest phase of efforts by the U.S.-led coalition and the SDF to clear Islamic State from its last footholds east of the Euphrates River following last year's defeat of the group in Raqqa, its Syrian headquarters.

"This battle is give and take sometimes like most military fights and we have been saying from the beginning, this will be a difficult struggle," Colonel Sean Ryan, the coalition's front man, said in an email to Rooters.

"ISIS is using experienced imported muscle with nothing to lose and the SDF will come back with coalition support and continue to degrade and destroy ISIS," he added.

Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), an umbrella group that includes mostly Shi'ite militias, said on Saturday it was reinforcing at the Syrian border, including with missile batteries, after the SDF was pushed back by IS.

"There are orders to close the Baghouz crossing," it said, which lies at the Euphrates river between Albu Kamal in Syria and al-Qaim in Iraq, both IS strongholds during the group's rule.

Iran’s major oil buyers set to defy US sanctions
[PRESSTV] As the administration of US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
is preparing to impose sanctions against Iran’s oil exports within the next few days, indications are already appearing that certain countries are preparing to defy Washington’s pressures to halt purchases of Iranian oil.

Rooters quoted unidentified sources familiar Iran sanctions issues as saying that at least three of Iran’s top oil clients ‐ India, China and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund....
‐ would resist Washington’s call to end their oil purchase plans from Iran.

The three countries, sources said, maintained that there were not sufficient supplies worldwide to replace Iranian oil volumes.

That pressure, along with worries of a damaging oil price spike, could put the Trump administration’s hard line to the test and could also raise the possibility of bilateral deals to allow some buying to continue, according to the sources.

Iran has already emphasized that the US can never prevent it from selling crude oil to international clients, stressing that no other supplier can substitute the kind of oil it provides to overseas markets.

Iran’s First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri was quoted by media as saying that the government of President Hassan Rouhani had already devised mechanisms to counter the impacts of returning US sanctions against the country’s oil exports.

Jahangiri emphasized that Iran had serious plans to maintain oil exports above one million

Elders Travel To Northern Somali Town To End Inter-Clan Fighting
[RADIOSHABELLE] Traditional traders from three towns in northern Somalia have arrived in Dhumay village in southern Sool region to gear up efforts to end clan festivities in the area.

Last week, Fighting between two clans in the village claimed lives more than 50 people and injured dozens.

According to reports, the elders are expected to meet with representatives from both sides to quell the hostility in the area.

Elder, Suleiman Burale Adan who is one of the elders dispatch to meet the sides told the media that they are committed to convincing the sides to bury the hatchet and participate in a peace conference to be held by the elders.

"Elders from Garowe, Las-Anod, and Buhodle towns have arrived in the area to urged the sides to end the fighting in Dhumay village, we are hoping that there would be a solution to end the hostility," he said.

The elder called on humanitarian agencies to deliver aid in the area where thousands have been displaced by the clan festivities.

Dhumey is in an area which has been claimed by both Somaliland and Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
for years.

There had been clan festivities in the village and other neighboring localities which claimed the lives of many people mostly fighting sides.

Israel falsifies Palestinian curriculum in al-Quds schools: Education minister
Teaching the historical truth instead of traditional Arab lies — how utterly appalling!
[PRESSTV] The Paleostinian Authority (PA) says Israel doctors the Paleostinian curriculum in schools in the occupied city of Jerusalem al-Quds.

Education Minister Sabri Sidem said "the Israeli authorities printed distorted copies of the Paleostinian curriculum and distributed them to the schools supervised by the Israeli municipality in Jerusalem" al-Quds, London-headquartered website the Middle East Monitor reported.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Sidem said, "The occupation authorities removed the Paleostinian flag from all books covers, the Paleostinian keffiyeh (a checkered cloth which symbolizes Paleostinian resistance), and the name of the State of Paleostine and its Eagle Logo as well as the phrase ’Ministry of Education and Higher Education.’"

The minister added that Israel had also "removed paragraphs and replaced them with others which support the Israeli case, in an attempt to obliterate the Paleostinian version."

The distortion has affected "all the curricula issued by the Paleostinian Curriculum Development Center," he noted.

Israel occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds during the Six-Day War in 1967. It later annexed East Jerusalem al-Quds in a move not recognized by the international community.

Ever since, Tel Aviv has been setting up settlements in the occupied territories and stepping up "security" measures in Jerusalem al-Quds. The Paleostinians want its eastern part as the capital of a future Paleostinian state.

Israeli minister in unprecedented visit to UAE mosque
[DAWN] Israeli minister Miri Regev on Monday shared a video on Facebook of her touring a famed mosque in the United Arab Emirates, in an unprecedented visit by a cabinet member.

The culture and sport minister, known for controversial comments about Arabs, was dressed in a red abaya with a white scarf covering her hair at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

"I toured the site," Regev told the camera, in Hebrew, surrounded by a group of people in traditional Emirati dress.

"This is the first time that an Israeli minister is here on a visit."

Regev, a member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party, visited the mosque on Sunday, according to her front man.

Her country does not have diplomatic relations with the UAE.

Israeli officials publicly toured landmark sites in the UAE at the weekend, the first such visit, days after Netanyahu travelled to the neighbouring Gulf state of Oman.

The delegation, which includes the country's communications minister, was in Dubai for the International Telecommunication Union Plenipotentiary Conference this week.

"We arrived the day (Sunday) before the conference. We went around the town, and we visited the mall," a member of the delegation told AFP.

Nigerian pirates release 7 Filipinos, 5 other foreigners kidnapped from Swiss ship in September
[PULSE.NG] The 12 crew members who were kidnapped from the MV Glarus, a Swiss merchant vessel owned by Massoel Shipping, have been released by their abductors one month after they were taken.
Pirates had boarded the ship while it was travelling Nigerian waters between Lagos and Port Harcourt and kidnapped the crew on September 22, 2018. They boarded the Glarus by means of long ladders and cut the razor wire on deck to gain access to the vessel.

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) had disclosed that seven of the kidnapped victims are from the Philippines while the other five are nationalities of Slovenia, Ukraine, Romania, Croatia and Bosnia.

According to a statement released by Massoel on Monday, October 29, the crew members have been released and were in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
on Monday before returning to their homes.

The shipping company failed to provide details of how it secured the freedom of its crew "as to do so would only encourage further criminal acts of this kind."

The company is believed to have paid a ransom to the pirates as it had disclosed days after the abduction that it was in contact with the pirates and stressed that the safe return of its crew was its "first and absolute priority".

According to Swiss justice authorities, the release of the hostages took place on Friday, October 26.

US troops sent Reykjavik's bars into ‘state of emergency’ after drinking all their beer
[RT] It was only supposed to be a pit stop, but some 7,000 US troops taking part in mass NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
drills nonetheless managed to deplete some bars and restaurants, in Iceland’s capital Reykjavik, of all their beer, according to local media.

The troops stopped in Iceland over the weekend while on their way to Sweden and Finland for a 300,000-strong NATO exercise. In total, some 50,000 of the forces participating are US troops.

But, apparently unconcerned about moderating their intake of booze just before Trident Juncture 18, thought to be NATO’s biggest military exercise since the Cold War, the troops plunged several bars in downtown Reykjavik into a state of emergency as they went nuts on their beer.

US soldiers were not satisfied with just any beer and specifically requested the local one. So, Brewery Olgerð Egils Skallagrimssonar, which makes the popular Icelandic Gull, had to send emergency supplies to various bars, according to local news site Visir.

Bangladesh opposition leader handed new jail term as supporters cry foul
[DAWN] Bangladesh's imprisoned opposition leader the loathesome Khaleda Zia
Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ...
was handed another seven years in prison on Monday on corruption charges her supporters say are politically motivated to prevent her running in a general election.

Zia, long time rival of Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She has been the President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She has once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia show such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums..
, is already behind bars after being handed a five-year term in February on separate embezzlement charges.

That verdict triggered festivities between police and thousands of loyalists from the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which Zia still leads from prison.

In her latest trial, Judge Mohammad Akhtaruzzman found the 73-year-old guilty of abuse of power and embezzling 31.5 million taka destined for a charitable fund.

The verdict was handed down in a temporary courtroom inside Dhaka Central Jail where Zia ‐ who has been hospitalised for poor health ‐ is the only inmate.

Her lawyers, who were also absent during the verdict, have consistently described the trial as "political vengeance" by Hasina, who has been accused of stifling her opponents.

The importance of banning Iran’s regime from SWIFT
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Crippling US sanctions are set to kick in early next month against Iran’s regime, targeting its oil and banking sectors.

While initially calling for "maximum pressures," as we speak, the Trump administration is weighing to what extent these measures should push forward in denying Tehran access to the global financial system.

There is word that US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is informing foreign governments that Washington may be stepping back from an onslaught aimed at forcing the Belgium-based financial messaging network, Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications, or SWIFT, to cut off sanctioned Iranian banks, according to the Wall Street Journal.

This is a highly important matter as SWIFT, the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications, is considered part and parcel of Washington’s upcoming oil sanctions on Tehran.

If the US were to allow SWIFT continue providing even limited services to the Iranian regime, loopholes would be exploited by Tehran to facilitate money transactions the regime desperately needs.

This is why senior US administration officials are calling for sanctioning SWIFT board members should they decide to facilitate such financial transactions for Tehran. If Trump allows Iran access to SWIFT, his measures would not meet the "maximum pressures" litmus test and be weaker than Barack Obama

Nigeria: 57 Chibok Girls Seen in Cameroon - Parents
[All Africa] Fifty-seven Chibok school girls being held by Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
have been sighted in two villages in Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, parents of the kidnapped girls told Daily Trust on Sunday yesterday.

The girls were seen by other female captives who at different times were kept by the bandidos holy warriors in the two villages in northern part of Cameroon, the Chairman of Chibok Girls Parents Association, Yakubu Nkenke, told our correspondent yesterday.

Nkenke said the girls who escaped and returned to their village near Chibok, disclosed that the 57 girls were broken into two groups and held in Garin Magaji and Garin Mallam villages located in Marwa in northern Cameroon.

According to him, all the girls were married off to Boko Haram fighters across the border and many of them had children.

"Some of the captives beat feet from the villages and spent months in military facility in Bama, where they were screened before they were finally released. One of them told us she met many of our kidnapped girls in two Cameroonian villages", he disclosed.

"Seven of the kidnapped Chibok girls are living in Garin Magaji, while 50 others are held in Garin Mallam where they live with their husbands and children," he added.

Nkenke said testimonies from parents as well as records in the association's register matched the names of the girls mentioned by the escapees.

Calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to collaborate with his Cameroonian counterpart to rescue the girls, Nkenke said he believed the military had got the information when they screened the escapees in Bama five months ago.

The Chibok leader noted that the information had thrown Chibok community into confusion and grief as parents expected the authorities to swing into action.

Daily Trust had reported on Friday that 25 parents of the kidnapped girls have died.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
Nkenke reiterated that the parents remained grateful to the federal government under Buhari, for negotiating the release of 112 girls and rescuing four others.

"Following the visit to Dapchi town by a federal government delegation to meet the parents of Leah Sharibu, the only remaining Dapchi school girl in Boko Haram captivity, the parents of more than 100 Chibok girls still with the bandidos holy warriors called on President Buhari to extend a similar gesture to Chibok.

Botched Chinese railway project in Africa is a warning to belt and road investors
[SouthChinaMorningPost]
Lessons should be drawn from the poorly executed US$4 billion Addis Ababa-Djibouti freight railway, warns head of China’s export credit insurer
Planning behind many China-led projects abroad has been ‘downright inadequate’ and costly.

The planning behind many of China’s major infrastructure projects abroad has been “downright inadequate”, leading to huge financial losses, according to the head of the country’s state export credit insurer.

Wang Wen, of China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation, known as Sinosure, said Chinese developers and financiers of projects in developing nations supported by Beijing’s “Belt and Road Initiative” need to step up their risk management to avoid disaster.

He cited the mistakes of a major railway project in Africa that has cost Sinosure close to US$1 billion in losses, according to its chief economist.

Lessons should be drawn from the poorly executed US$4 billion Addis Ababa-Djibouti freight railway that was inaugurated early this year but has already had to restructure its debt because of underuse caused by power shortages, Wang told a belt and road infrastructure financing forum in Hong Kong earlier this month.

“Ethiopia’s planning capabilities are lacking, but even with the help of Sinosure and the lending Chinese bank it was still insufficient.”

He said other China-backed projects plagued by poor preparation have included sugar refineries that have lacked a supply of sugar beet, and underused railways in Latin America.

His comments were a stark reminder to Hong Kong financiers and investors at the forum looking to tap belt and road opportunities of the risks of backing projects in developing nations.

The Definition of Virginity is Unqueer
[DailyNexus] Everyone likes to talk about sex, and growing up, virginity always seemed to take the spotlight. Sleepovers are riddled with questions like, "When will I lose my virginity?" or, "How did you lose your virginity?" These questions always plagued me, yet at the same time, they brought immense curiosity. As a queer woman, I have a lot of confusion and frustration with the word itself. Over time I've come to realize that virginity doesn't even exist; by definition, it refers to the first time someone has sex, but sex can mean different things to different people.

On the occasions that I have found myself in a circle of friends, talking about virginity or how we lost it, more than one of the stories always seem to end with some statement like, "It went in and out like three times and then we were done." Now, there is nothing wrong with this, and if both members felt like it was sex, then it was, because sex should be defined by the individuals.

My issues with this only come in when queer women who have had sex with other women are considered virgins simply because they've never been penetrated. My girlfriend has been called a virgin by our friends because they don't readily accept what we do as sex. So if my intimate experiences with my girlfriend are not sex, then neither is your "in and out three times on the fourth floor of the library." Ultimately, sex is culturally defined by the presence of a penis, or at least some form of penetration, and this is just wrong.

China reverses 25-year ban on trade and use of rhino horns and tiger bones
[SouthChinaMorningPost]
  • China reverses 25-year ban on trade and use of rhino horns and tiger bones, alarming conservationists

  • Beijing says scientific and medical uses for such materials are now permitted

  • World Wildlife Fund condemns move, saying it will ‘have devastating consequences globally’.

China is allowing scientific and medical uses of tiger bone and rhinoceros horn, after banning such uses and trade in the materials for 25 years, the government announced on Monday.

“Under special circumstances, trading or using of tiger bone, rhino horn or any products containing them should apply for permission,” China’s cabinet, the State Council, said on Monday.

The move was immediately condemned by the conservation group World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

“It is deeply concerning that China has reversed its 25-year-old tiger bone and rhino horn ban, allowing a trade that will have devastating consequences globally”, Margaret Kinnaird, WWF’s wildlife practice leader, said in a statement on Monday.

“The resumption of a legal market for these products is an enormous setback to efforts to protect tigers and rhinos in the wild.”

#1  The way to protect these animals is to make trade in their products legal. Let the farmers handle it! Only once you ban it altogether does it make financial sense to risk your life poaching.

‘Prepare for war’, Xi Jinping tells military region that monitors South China Sea, Taiwan
China must ‘take all complex situations into consideration and make emergency plans accordingly’, Xi says on visit to Southern Theatre Command
Military region has had to bear a ‘heavy military responsibility’ in recent years, he says.

China’s President Xi Jinping has ordered the military region responsible for monitoring the South China Sea and Taiwan to assess the situation it is facing and boost its capabilities so it can handle any emergency.

The Southern Theatre Command has had to bear a “heavy military responsibility” in recent years, state broadcaster CCTV quoted him as saying during an inspection tour made on Thursday as part of his visit to Guangdong province.

“It’s necessary to strengthen the mission … and concentrate preparations for fighting a war,” Xi said. “We need to take all complex situations into consideration and make emergency plans accordingly.

“We have to step up combat readiness exercises, joint exercises and confrontational exercises to enhance servicemen’s capabilities and preparation for war.”

One of the primary missions of the Southern Theatre Command is overseeing the South China Sea, an area where tensions and military activity involving China, the US and other powers have been growing steadily.

Earlier this month, a Chinese destroyer almost collided with a US warship in the disputed waters after making what the Americans described as an “unsafe and unprofessional” manoeuvre in an attempt to warn it to leave the area.

Army seeks record of child maid torture case against its official
[DAWN] Army authorities have sought the case record of a young maid who was allegedly tortured by her employers ‐ a woman serving with the army and her husband, a private doctor.

The victim is likely to be interviewed by the army authorities within the next two days.

The doctor, who has been on an interim bail till Oct 29, on Sunday has been included in the investigation. He has to appear before the additional district and sessions judge for the confirmation of his bail on Monday.

The army official, who has been nominated as the prime suspect in the FIR registered with the Airport police on the complaint of the Child Protection Bureau, is working as a computer information technology officer at the army headquarters. Her case has been sent to the army authorities for further proceeding.

When contacted, Aamir Khan, the station house officer (SHO) of Airport police, told Dawn that they were still waiting for the medico-legal report of the maid to proceed further. However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
the army authorities are investigating the suspect and have sought details of the case from the police, he added.

The SHO said though the doctor did not admit to abusing the maid; he did say they used to taunt her whenever she went out of the house and once when she slipped down the stairs.

The 11-year-old maid has been kept with the Child Protection Bureau after she was brought back to Rawalpindi from her native town of Faisalabad

Shots Fired into GOP Campaign Office in Florida
[National Review] At least four shots were fired into a Republican campaign satellite office in Volusia County, Fla. on Sunday, police announced after a campaign volunteer reported the shooting Monday morning.

No one was injured in the shooting, which broke the front windows and displaced drywall inside the office, South Daytona police captain Mark Cheatham told the Orlando Sentinel. There were no eyewitnesses, but police are seeking surveillance footage to try and determine who is responsible.

The incident comes after a gunman murdered eleven congregants at a Pittsburgh synagogue Saturday morning. The assailant, who eventually surrendered to police, reportedly yelled "all Jews must die" during the attack. A number of prominent Democratic lawmakers and wealthy liberal donors were also targeted by mail bombs last week. Police have identified a middle-aged Florida man and outspoken Trump supporter as the attacker.

President Trump ‐ whose rhetoric has been blamed for the attacks by many in the media, as well as Democratic lawmakers ‐ called the spate of violence "despicable" in a statement last Wednesday.

"In these times we have to unify," he said. "We have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America."

Five dead in suspected IS attack in central Libya
[IsraelTimes] At least five people were killed Monday and 10 others were kidnapped in an attack by suspected Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group jihadists on a town in central Libya, local and military sources say.

Three civilians were among the dead, while a soldier was maimed and 10 people were "missing, probably kidnapped," says General Ahmed al-Mesmari, front man for the Libyan National Army.

The raid targeted the desert town of al-Fuqaha in Jufra district, which has for over a year been held by forces allied to Libyan strongman Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. LNA forces responded to the attack but the IS fighters fled south, killing a five victim and injuring another at a security checkpoint, Mesmari says.

...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
He says the assailants kidnapped at least eight others before fleeing into the Haruj mountains further south.

Jufra politician Ismail al-Sharif says IS fighters attacked the city with 25 vehicles, beheaded five civilians and torched local government and security offices.

The attackers set fire to police posts and public buildings in al-Fuqaha, he added.

Both Sharif and Jalala say the raid was likely retaliation for arrests earlier this month of alleged IS members in the area.

Palestinian said killed by IDF as thousands riot on Gaza border
[IsraelTimes] Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,-run ministry says 27-year-old rubbed out in Beit Lahia; IDF says 3,000 people throwing rocks, Molotov cocktails at troops near border fence

Thousands of Paleostinians rioted along the northern Gazoo security fence on Monday, the army said, as Paleostinians reported that one man was rubbed out by Israeli forces.

Some 3,000 people were throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at Israeli troops across the border and attempting to damage the fence, according to the military.

Israeli soldiers were using tear gas and live fire against the rioters.

One Paleostinian man, 27-year-old Muhammed Abu Abada, was rubbed out by Israeli forces during riots near the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gazoo, according to the Gazoo health ministry, which is run by the Hamas terror group.

In addition, a group of Paleostinian boats set sail from the coastal enclave toward the edge of the permitted fishing zone, apparently in order to break through the Israeli- and Egyptian-imposed naval blockade.

Israeli navy ships were at the scene, the IDF said.

On Sunday, the military said it carried out an Arclight airstrike targeting three Paleostinians who were attempting to damage the fence in the border region between Israel and Gazoo. The army added that the Paleostinians had apparently been "in the process of planting an bomb" in the southern half of the Strip.

The Gazoo health ministry pronounced the three Paleostinians dead and identified them as 14-year-old Khalid Abu Said, 14-year-old Abdel-Hamid Abu Dhaher and 13-year-old Muhammed al-Satari. On Monday, Aisha Abu Daher said her son Abdel-Hamid had "nothing to do with resistance" and denied her son had any links to terrorists.

terror group vowed to "respond to this crime in a way that is proportionate to its size and the great fury it has caused among our people, nation and free people in the world," according to a Paleostine Today report. It also denied that three teenagers had been involved in any type of "military action" in the border region.

"The occupation’s narrative is baseless, false and purely deceptive and fallacious," the statement added.

Paleostinian paramedics claimed the three bodies were found 200 meters from the fence.

Funeral processions took place in Gazoo on Monday for the three teenagers.

A relative of Okenve's, Analeto Medja, told AFP: "He was taking his brother to the airport. Four people stopped his car and forced him at gunpoint to get into theirs. They took him to some wasteland and beat him hard until he was bleeding, then they left him there."

Residents close to the scene took Okenve to a hospital in Bata, Equatorial Guinea's economic capital on Africa's Atlantic seaboard, Medja and other family members said.

The identity of the men in civilian clothes who attacked Okenve was unclear on Monday, but carrying firearms is tightly controlled by the iron-fisted regime of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, in power since 1979.

The affair was being followed widely on social networks on Monday, but there was no official reaction.

CEID-GE said it would file a formal complaint, denouncing the harassment of civil society in the former Spanish colony.

and his connections to the Saudi royal family will prevent Trump from punishing Riyadh for murdering Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi, an investigative journalist in Washington says.

"Trump is not really going to take any action against the Saudis," said Wayne Madsen, an author and columnist specializing in intelligence and international affairs.

"His son-in-law Jared Kushner has a financial arrangement with the Saudis; the Saudis sell his daughter Ivanka’s goods in Saudi Arabian shopping centers," Madsen said during a phone interview with Press TV on Monday.

The murder of Khashoggi, who escaped to the US last year and worked as a Washington Post columnist, has escalated into a crisis for the world’s top oil exporter as Saudi Arabia’s allies have reacted with outrage.

US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Sunday in Bahrain that the killing of Khashoggi undermined the stability of the Middle East and that Washington would take additional measures against those responsible.

Last week, Trump said Saudi officials had engaged in the "worst cover-up ever" and that those behind the killing "should be in big trouble."

But Trump has also highlighted Riyadh as a major purchaser of American weapons.

US politicians have accused Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
, also known as MBS and the country’s de facto leader, of ordering the killing.

Connecting With Loved Ones During Deployment
[Military.com] One of the major problems while as basic training or serving in combat is being away from loved ones. On some occasions, military personnel can’t even get to a phone or the internet, missing important holidays and birthdays. As someone who has given advice to thousands of recruits going to basic training, I will share with you my top three ways to stay in touch with loved ones on deployment.

1. Evergram: Finally technology becomes personal; I recently discovered a new messaging service that allows you to connect with loved ones. Evergram is a collaborative message platform, which allows people to create and send a video, photo, or text message. Evergram automatically collects all the individual messages and organizes them in an online album to be delivered to the recipient on any date of your choosing. For a military service member, too often you are celebrating a holiday or birthday abroad and away from those you want to be with most. Imagine opening your email on Christmas day to find an album of heartfelt messages from all your friends and family at home ‐ preserved in time for you to view again and again. Best of all this is a free service through the 2012 holidays.

2. Social Media: Until just a few years ago, communicating through sites like Facebook and Twitter was unheard of. Now, it seems like a go-to method for many service members. The military has strict rules on communicating with friends and family while on deployment. Be sure not to give any sensitive information including your location and mission. If you are unsure if information in sensitive, be conservative and don’t post it. Many bases won’t have sites like Facebook and Twitter available while service members are carrying out missions. While on deployment, social media is much better used as a listening tool than a posting tool.

Sponsored: T-Mobile is also offering the latest iPhone XR with a sweet deal for military families for a limited time. With trade-in, it’s just $35/month per line (with autopay) for four lines AND four iPhone XR. .

3. Pen and Paper: With texting, email and social media so readily available, a seemingly lost line of communication may be the most obvious, the pen and paper. There is something special and nostalgic about getting a hand written letter. When sending letters home while on deployment, be sure to carry plenty of stamps with you. In basic training especially, stamps often trade like currencies since going to the PX is a privilege most recruits rarely see

SGT Michael Volkin is the author of several basic training books and the all new Strength Stack 52, bodyweight fitness cards for military personnel.
Daily communications via cell, unit provided Morale, Welfare, And Recreation (MWR) phones, social media, and Skype has its downside. I'm referring to 'Spouse tracking.'

#2  Skid's concern is also valid, but what I war referring to is the mental anguish many young soldiers face from questions of detachment, infidelity, and trust.

The impact on job performance and mission accomplishment aside, I have thought for years the notable increase in service member suicides could be attributed to the conflict created by the constant use of these devices.

7 victims after ‘First Purge’ party ends in shooting at California nightclub
IMDB: ... the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legal.
[RT] Seven people has been hospitalized after a shooting at a nightclub in Riverside, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,. The club was hosting a party inspired by ’The Purge’ horror franchise, local media reported.

The police received a distress call after midnight on Monday. Arriving at the scene, the officers picked up two people with gunshot wounds who were then hospitalized. Another five people, also shot at the venue, had later checked in at different hospitals seeking medical treatment, Riverside Police Department said in a statement.

On Sunday, Merkel's Christian Democratic Union (CDU) received 28 percent of the votes. Although that was more support than other competitors received, it was a significant drop from the 38.3 percent won by the party in the state's last election in 2013.

Sri Lanka: Warnings of 'bloodbath' as political tensions rise
[Al Jazeera] Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena has come under increased pressure to allow politicians resolve a power struggle with his sacked prime minister, amid warnings that the country's deepening political crisis could devolve into a "bloodbath".

The concern over possible violence came on Monday as politicians loyal to removed Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called on their supporters to converge on Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo, to protest against what they said was a coup by Sirisena.

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya urged the president to let Wickremesinghe prove his majority support on the parliament floor. "If we take it out to the streets, there will be a huge bloodbath," he told a news conference.

Referring to the death of one man when the bodyguard of one of Wickremesinghe's deposed ministers opened fire on a crowd at the state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) on Sunday, Jayasuriya added: "There is unrest and foreign countries are issuing travel warnings.

"This will set the country back on the international stage and damage our economy."

Police on Monday took the dismissed minister, Arjuna Ranatunga, into custody after workers at the CPC threatened to strike, demanding his arrest over their colleague's killing. He was released hours later.

US-led coalition uses white phosphorus bombs against Syrian city: Damascus
[PRESSTV] Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
Bashar al-Ja'afari says the so-called international coalition led by the United States has once again used white phosphorus bombs against Hajin city in Syria’s troubled eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr.

Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting on Monday, the Syrian senior diplomat further condemned the use of banned weapon by the US-led coalition against the small city.

His comments came a few hours after Syria’s official news agency SANA, citing local sources, reported that earlier in the day, the so-called coalition had shelled several localities in Hajin, some 110 kilometers east of Dayr al-Zawr, with white phosphorus munitions that can maim and kill by burning to the bone.

On October 13, SANA also reported that the US-led coalition, purportedly fighting the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
ISIS terrorist group, dropped internationally-banned white phosphorus bombs on Hajin.

On September 8, two F-15 warplanes of the US Air Force targeted the same Syrian city with white phosphorous bombs.

In June last year, Human Rights Watch (HRW) warned that the US-led coalition was deploying white phosphorous bombs in both Iraq and Syria.

Israeli official: We’ve continued strikes in Syria since Russian plane downed
[IsraelTimes] The IDF has continued attacking targets in Syria even after a Russian spy plane was shot down last months, a senior Israeli official says.

"The army’s coordination with the Russian army continues exactly as it did before the event," the official says, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
Moscow blamed the September 17 incident, during which Syria destroyed a Russian Il-20 survey aircraft, killing 15 Russian servicemen, on Israel, arguing that Israeli jets were hiding behind the Russian plane.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may possibly meet Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
in early November at a summit in Gay Paree, but the meeting has not been finalized, the official says.

Netanyahu has reiterated several times that Israel will continue to act to prevent Iran’s military entrenchment in Syria and the smuggling of advanced weapons into Leb. But the bigwig’s comment appeared to be the first public acknowledgement that Israel has indeed carried out strikes in Syria after the downing of the Russian spy plane.

Italy’s far-right party blocks mosque construction
[DAWN] Italia’s far-right League party intervened on Sunday to block efforts by a Moslem association to turn a former hospital chapel into a mosque.

The Moslem group last week made the highest offer for the chapel in the northern city of Bergamo at an auction organised by a local hospital, outbidding the Romanian Orthodox Church which had been using the building for its religious services.

But the project proved short-lived, with League leaders in the wealthy Lombardy region, which includes Bergamo, announcing they would halt the sale by using a 2004 law that enables them to intervene and safeguard cultural sites.

"I would never put a Church on sale and I am amazed that the hospital management did not realise what a sensitive issue this is," Lombardy President Attilio Fontana, a League politician, wrote on Twitter.

"However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
we will exercise our right of first refusal (for the sale) and there will be no space for any appeal," he added. His decision means the region must now buy the property.

League leader Matteo Salvini warned earlier this year that Italian culture and society risked being eradicated by Islam.

"Centuries of history risk disappearing if Islamisation, which up until now has been underestimated, gains the upper hand," he said in a statement.

Moslems only represent a small minority in Roman Catholic Italia, with the Pew Research Centre saying they will make up 4.9 per cent of the population by 2020 against 3.7 per cent in 2010.

Two Rescue 1122 workers suspended over alleged sexual assault of Sikh girl in Nankana Sahib
[DAWN] Two Rescue 1122 workers have been suspended over their alleged involvement in the suspected sexual assault of a Sikh teenage girl at Nankana Sahib on October 27, a district emergency officer said on Monday.

The officer, Akram Panwaar, said that a high-level committee has also been created to investigate the incident and once the crime was proven, strong departmental action would be taken against the rescue officials.

if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
the girl will be taken to Lahore today for further tests.

The results of the tests will arrive in a minimum time frame of two months, said Investigative Officer Basharat Ali, adding that the suspects would be kept in jug on physical remand for further investigation.

According to the first information report (FIR) registered with the City Nankana Sahib police by the victim’s family, the 15-year-old girl, who was also mentally challenged, went missing on Sunday.

The family looked for her everywhere but found no trace.

At around 1:30am, the family members of the girl found a Rescue 1122 ambulance parked by the roadside for long time which looked suspicious. When probed further, the found both the suspects committing the crime with their daughter.

The FIR added that when the victim's family made noise, the suspects drove the ambulance away, threw the victim near a sugar mill on Nankana Road and escaped.

A spokesperson for the district police on Monday said that the suspects had been locked away

Libya strongman Haftar in Rome ahead of crisis talks
[PULSE.NG] Libyan strongman Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. Guess you can't win them all...
, whose self-styled Libyan National Army dominates the country's east, was in Rome Monday for talks ahead of next month's Sicily conference on the conflict-hit North African nation.

Italia is trying to convince Haftar to support a crisis resolution plan drawn up by the UN's envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, which will be presented to the Security Council a few days before the Sicily meet, Italian media reported.

Haftar arrived in the Italian capital on Sunday and met with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte for a series of meetings ahead of the November 12 to 13 summit, which will be held in Palermo.

The Italian premier had also held separate meetings on Friday with the head of Libya's UN-backed government, Fayez al-Sarraj, and the UN's Salame.

Libya remains mired in chaos since the fall of dictator Moamer Qadaffy in 2011.

The country is divided between the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA), based in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, and a rival Haftar-supported administration in the east.

The UN envoy was quoted by Conte's office as saying he believes the Palermo conference could be "a key signal of support by the international community to the political process, which is in a particularly important phase".

Four key leaders from Libya agreed at a conference in Gay Paree in May to hold landmark polls on December 10 as part of a French-led plan to stabilise the crisis-hit country despite ongoing violence.

But La Belle France has faced opposition to the election timetable from the United States along with other European Union

countries, notably Italia.

Haftar is set to meet Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi on Monday.

Gabon President Ali Bongo hospitalised in Saudi Arabia
[Al Jazeera] Gabon's Hereditary President-forLife Ali Bongo has been hospitalised in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
with fatigue, his office said.

Bongo was admitted to hospital last week because of "severe fatigue", government spokesperson Ike Ngouoni said in a statement on Sunday, while sources told Rooters news agency that he had suffered a stroke.

The Gabonese president was still under observation on Monday at the King Faisal hospital in Riyadh, where he was taken on October 24.

A medical and a diplomatic source both told Rooters that the president suffered a stroke.

Ngouoni, however, denied this and said that Bongo instead had "severe fatigue" due to months of strenuous work.

Bongo is feeling better and has been told to rest, Ngouoni added, while calling for "vigilance" against "fake news" following false reports of his death.

A Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
TV station had announced live on air on Saturday that the Gabon president had died, without providing any evidence, he said.

The 59-year-old president was in Saudi Arabia to attend the Future Investment Initiative conference where he was scheduled to speak alongside other African leaders but was not seen during the discussion.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
visited him in the hospital that evening, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Thursday.

However,
today is that tomorrow you were thinking about yesterday...
in a separate dispatch, SPA said Bongo attended a speech by bin Salman at the conference on Wednesday.

Bongo, whose family has ruled the oil-rich central African nation for nearly half a century, has been president since succeeding his father Omar in 2009.

He narrowly won re-election in 2016 in a poll that the opposition claimed was marred by fraud.

Mass protests broke out, during which the national parliament was gutted by fire.

The country went to the polls this month for the first time since that vote, with the second round of legislative elections on Saturday seeing Bongo's party coasting towards victory.

#2  Tent cities or detention camps are a progressive and ACLU cause célèbre in the making. This sort of strategy should be avoided.

If we see a mobilization of Army medical units and construction battalions, the 'tent city' notion may be confirmed.

If President Trump wants the issue to parallel that of the nazi Jewish concentration camps of WWII, government camps are the way to go. These people must be turned away.
