Washington Post: $400 million in cash 'may have whetted' Iran's appetite for more American prisoners
A Washington Post editorial published Wednesday suggested a transfer of $400 million in cash earlier this year, which the administration later admitted was linked to the release of U.S. prisoners, may have whetted Iran's appetite for jailing more Americans.
Gee... you enable a bully and you get more bullying? Who would have thought!?!?!
Recall that the Obama administration worked out a prisoner swap for Americans being held in Iran but also settled a lawsuit stemming from a very old arms deal. The two things were allegedly separate but when it was revealed that $400 million in cash had been loaded onto a plane and delivered to Iran the same day as the prisoner release the administration was forced to deny the payment was a ransom.

The Wall Street Journal revealed in early August that even people within the Department of Justice worried that the timing would make the transfer of cash look like ransom. Meanwhile, there were several indications that Iran did indeed see the transfer as a ransom payment, including a statement by an Iranian general who said, "This money was returned for the freedom of the U.S. spy [Jason Rezaian] and it was not related to the [nuclear] negotiations."
I feel lied too

#1  It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation To call upon a neighbour and to say: --
"We invaded you last night--we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away."

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you've only to pay 'em the Dane-geld
And then you'll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say: --
"Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away."

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we've proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: --

"We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!"

Latest Project Veritas Video Exposes DNC's Plan To Use Women Against Trump Supporters
[MRCtv] Ready for round six, folks?

James O’Keefe’s organization, Project Veritas Action (PVA), released yet another video Wednesday afternoon titled, "DNC Schemes to Bully Women at Trump Rally."

In this video, the Democratic National Committee’s Rapid Response Coordinator and associate at Democracy Partners, Aaron Black, talks about how they can use verbally abusive and antagonistic women at Trump rallies to incite a "bullying" response from male Trump supporters.
Click on the headline to see the video at the link. I see that on the left side of things they're saying these people were speaking in hypotheticals, not describing actual actions.

#1  Hypotheticals as a rebuttal against the Project veritas revelations? The guy that quit yesterday who was the focus of the previous video, visited the White House 342 times!!!!!!!!! If that doesn't convince you that Josh Ernest is an utter tool and liar, and that this administration is ac corrupt as sin, you are less intelligent than a houseplant!

#2  it wasn't hypothetical. Sacked Clinton staffer Scott Foval bragged here about paying this elderly woman to "bird dog" at a Trump rally

she actually pretended she was punched and fell on the ground. She was never punched.

But the headlines across all media said she was punched and people were then prosecuted for the fake crime.

It is not fake, and it would still be going on if it wasn't exposed by James O'Keefe.

Scott Foval was only sacked because he was caught.

Bob Creamer was only sacked because he was caught

and worse: Trump supporters tried to share the link to the evidence with the reporters who wrote the stories yesterday

and their tweets were shadow-banned by twitter.

Turkey kills 160 to 200 Syrian Kurdish militants in airstrikes
[Reuters] ANKARA, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Turkish jets carried out 26 airstrikes on 18 Syrian Kurdish YPG militant targets in northern Syria and killed 160 to 200 militants, the Turkish army said in a statement on Thursday.

The army said its jets late on Wednesday pounded areas recently captured by the YPG forces, and destroyed nine buildings, one armoured vehicle and four other vehicles that belonged to the Kurdish YPG militia.

Turkey, a main backer of the insurgency against President Bashar al-Assad, entered the Syrian conflict in August, using its armour and air power to help Free Syrian Army rebel groups take territory near the border held by Islamic State.

Iran Seeking ‘Many Billions of Dollars' in Ransom to Free U.S. Hostages
[FreeBeacon] Senior Iranian officials, including the country's president, have been floating the possibility of further payments from the United States for months. Since the White House agreed to pay Tehran $1.7 billion in cash earlier this year as part of a deal bound up in the release of American hostages, Iran has captured several more U.S. citizens.

Future payments to Iran could reach as much as $2 billion, according to sources familiar with the matter, who said that Iran is detaining U.S. citizens in Iran's notorious Evin prison where inmates are routinely tortured and abused."

Pentagon: Hillary Clinton Should Be Arrested For Leaking Top Secret Nuclear Intelligence on National TV
[truepundit] According to Pentagon sources, the information Clinton disseminated publicly is Top Secret intelligence governed under the U.S. Special Access Program (SAP) which dictates safeguards and protocols for accessing and discussing highly classified and Top Secret intelligence. The specific details of the country's nuclear response time discussed by Clinton, sources said, are only known by a handful of individuals outside top military brass, including the following "need-to-know" (NTK) officials:

#9  Unbelievable, nothing seems to be capable of stopping our presumptive Imperial Empress. Every check planned in the Constitution was based on the integrity and courage of the other branches of government to hold each other accountable. That presumption now fails since fear, retribution, and success now depend on the largess of the Rulers. That Executive Orders now carry the full force of law apparently, and Congress has no ability to restrain the spending or impeach miscreants, we are entering the brief Imperial era of America before she fails. Look for more bread and circus distractions as the last pillage of public treasuries ends with failed currency inflation in the not distant future...not a happy few weeks as we anticipate the ugly, ugly mess that follows the November ballot. In the off chance Trump pulls this out, it will still be a gigantic sh*t storm....

#10  Fellow Burgers,

I've been dealing with this one all day...and as much as it pains me to say it, Malificent has done no wrong here. The 'four minutes' has been known publicly since the early 80s at least - a very good documentary done at the time (IIRC by ABC, and it was done with the cooperation of the USAF and Strategic Air Command) stated it plainly, and it has been in open-source documents before and since. It was a commonly known detail when I was in SAC and throughout the rest of my 20 years in the USAF.

Malificent has a great many things to answer for, but the bottom line is this isn't one of them.

Economy
Doom and Gloom: Fed risks repeating Lehman blunder as US recession storm gathers
A U.S. recession is predicted for the Spring of 2017. Déjà vu all over again. Liquidity is drying up. There has been five successive quarters of declining corporate profits. The Fed is methodically draining money through "reverse repos". We are on a course for rising interest rates and the Fed has no margin for error according to Ambrose Evans Pritchard. The growth rate of the nominal GNP has been on an unbroken fall pattern since the beginning of the year. The velocity of money in the U.S., a measure of the health of the economy is at a 40 year low.

Wait a minute! This is beginning to read a lot like what Donald J. Trump said in the 3rd debate last night. He just might have had all this right. Just maybe he is the right guy to be in charge of the economy rather than Bill Clinton.

Iran steps up weapons supply to Yemen's Houthis via Oman
[Reuters] Iran has stepped up weapons transfers to the Houthis, the militia fighting the Saudi-backed government in Yemen, U.S., Western and Iranian officials tell Reuters, a development that threatens to prolong and intensify the 19-month-old war.

The increased pace of transfers in recent months, which officials said include missiles and small arms, could exacerbate a security headache for the United States, which last week struck Houthi targets with cruise missiles in retaliation for failed missile attacks on a U.S. Navy destroyer.

Much of the recent smuggling activity has been through Oman, which neighbors Yemen, including via overland routes that take advantage of porous borders between the two countries, the officials said.

That raises a further quandary for Washington, which views the tiny Gulf state as a strategic interlocutor and ally in the conflict-ridden region. A senior U.S. administration official said that Washington had informed Oman of its concerns, without specifying when.

"We have been concerned about the recent flow of weapons from Iran into Yemen and have conveyed those concerns to those who maintain relations with the Houthis, including the Omani government," the official told Reuters.

Oman denies any weapons smuggling across its border, and its officials could not be reached for comment. Yemeni and senior regional officials say the Omanis are not actively involved with the transfers, but rather turning a blind eye and failing to aggressively crack down on the flow.

There's been smuggling between Oman and Yemen for centuries. Quite profitable for both parties. Leave it to the mullahs to take advantage of it.

Here's Who Won The Debate, According To The Internets
[Daily Caller] Donald Trump won the third and final presidential debate -- or at least that's what you'd think if you were reading the Internet Wednesday night.

As the two candidates went head to head for 90 minutes onstage at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, it was clear that the Republican nominee had won the Internet over.

In a poll run on the Drudge Report near the end of the debate, 76 percent of voters believed that Trump defeated Clinton handily, while 24 percent thought she had won.

It's worth noting that voters didn't seem to think Trump performed as well as he did in St. Louis, when he garnered 92 percent of the Drudge poll.
Con't.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Complaint Filed Against Clinton's Campaign Following O'Keefe Videos
[Free Beacon] An election integrity group has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission following the release of undercover videos from James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), an Indiana-based group that litigates to protect election integrity, submitted the complaint Tuesday to the Office of the General Counsel at the FEC claiming that Hillary Clinton’s campaign committee and other left-wing groups may have violated campaign finance laws.

"This complaint is based on information and belief that respondents have engaged in public communications, campaign activity, targeted voter registration drives, and other targeted GOTV [get out the vote] activity under 11 C.F.R. 100.26 and 11 C.F.R. 114.4 at the request, direction, and approval of the Hillary for America campaign committee and the Democratic National Committee in violation of 11 C.F.R. 109.20 and 11 C.F.R. 114.4(d)(2) and (3)," the complaint states.

"Complainant’s information and belief is based on findings from an investigation conducted by Project Veritas Action and their published reports regarding the same, as well as on news sources."

"If the Commission, upon receiving a complaint ... has reason to believe that a person has committed, or is about to commit, a violation of [the FECA] ... [t]he Commission shall make an investigation of such alleged violation 52 U.S.C. § 30109(a)(2); see also 11 C.F.R. § 111.4(a)."

PILF argues that the groups within the videos‐which were caught on tape discussing possible voter fraud scenarios -have organized voter registration drives and other GOTV activities that could have potentially registered people who are not United States citizens.

Newt Gingrich on Veritas Videos: 'Where's the FBI?'
[PJ] In the wake of the two bombshell Project Veritas videos that show Democratic operatives engaging in nefarious and possibly illegal campaign activities, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has a pointed question:

"Where is the FBI, why is the FBI not investigating this?" he asked, "You have a deliberate, willful effort to foment violence, to break up a presidential campaign, [and] to intimidate voters."

Gingrich joined Sean Hannity on Fox News Tuesday evening to discuss the undercover video tapes released by James O'Keefe's Project Veritas. The former speaker said that there needs to be an investigation into the Clinton campaign right now, because there is direct evidence linking one of the miscreants to the Clinton campaign: "We also now have actual checks cut by the campaign to one of the operatives," Gingrich noted.

"I know [FBI Director Jim] Comey's in the tank for Hillary but he has some obligation to enforce the law and the FBI should be opening up an investigation...right now," Gingrich said.

Gingrich went on to insist that Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader McConnell draft a letter to to Director Comey and Attorney General Loretta Lynch demanding an immediate investigation. "Insist that the FBI, NOW, immediately, before the election, investigate this," he said.

"It's amazing how fast the Obama administration could get FBI agents to a variety of places that fit their agenda -- this is not about politics ... this is about a fundamental threat to our democracy."

#2  An arrest is made in Czechoslovakia and a Russian hacker is nabbed. LinkedIn suggested that the arrest was tied to a 2012 breach of member information. Lets see, four years after the event the FBI announces an arrest. That's about par for the course. Remember, the FBI announced (incorrectly) that the Mafia was done for -- twenty years or so after an investigation was instituted. It announced that it had arrested the Soviet mole operating within the FBI -- five years after he began. "Slow" does not begin to explain operational speed within the FBI.

White House Urges ‘Extreme Caution' To Viewers of Project Veritas Videos
[Breitbart] The Obama administration warns that Americans and journalists should be skeptical of material coming from James O'Keefe's Project Veritas.

During the White House press briefing, press secretary Josh Earnest warned that Americans and journalists should take Project Veritas videos "not just with a grain of salt but maybe even a whole package of salt."

"Despite what the name might suggest, these videos have not often revealed the truth," Earnest said, though he admitted that many Democrats had been forced out of their jobs as a result of O'Keefe's work.

Robert Creamer, a top Democratic operative featured in the video, stepped down from his position after he admitted in the video that he was actively trying to incite violence at opposing political rallies.

Earnest said that he was "reluctant" to comment on the videos themselves, but talked about the topic of "birddogging" opposing rallies.

In general, Earnest said, the notion of inciting violence in an opposing candidate's campaign was contrary to Obama's views of community organizing.

#5  Why would these two boneheads agree to be interviewed and then spill their guts.

Mr. O'Keefe never goes in as a reporter, JohnQC, but in a role where the discussions are part of a longer interaction. His first essay in the field was when he went to ACORN offices around the country in the role of a pimp with underage, illegal immigrant prostitutes looking for public money to finance the purchase of houses in which to conduct his business. He went to each of these appointments with an interestingly dressed young lady at his side. Staffers were almost uniformly non-judgemental, helpfully suggesting approaches and even wording to get the desired funding. As I recall, at one or two offices they did turn Mr. O'Keefe away, but there were enough videos, coming out every few days for what seemed ages, to create a scandal that bestirred Congress to act.

I believe in this case the reporters got themselves hired by these groups, or were volunteers, and they were asking questions and making suggestions as eager acolytes.

Secret Service Officer Gary Byrne Vindicated by FBI Documents on HRC's Character, But Predicts Media Will Still Ignore Him
[Breitbart] On Wednesday morning’s Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM, former Secret Service officer Gary J. Byrne was asked to talk about the differences between Hillary Clinton and other protectees, such as her husband Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

"Hillary is just not approachable," he told SiriusXM host Alex Marlow. "The Hillary Clinton that they keep trying to modify and portray on TV ‐ and I’ll remind your audience, at least three times during this past year, you’ve seen her campaign put out, "Well, we're trying to make her look a little bit more pleasant," or "It's Hillary 2.0." The real Hillary Clinton is the one I talk about in my book, Crisis of Character. She's cold, she's distant. According to the FBI Director a couple of months ago, she's completely incompetent and reckless."
Excellent book by the way. Contains a lot more than the HRC issues.

She is clearly on the introverted side, rather than extroverted like her husband, and believes anyone not in her social circle has lesser value. But my takeaway from other descriptions is that it's when she's hot and immediate -- screaming, throwing things, threatening livelihoods -- that staff worry about. Cold and distant is merely an unpleasant relief from being the target of her ire.

OPINION: In Mosul, ISIS and others, have fallen
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The fall of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
into the hands of ISIS two years ago came as a shock. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki relinquished power even though the world thought it was impossible to make him step aside despite the end of his term. With the fall of Mosul, many such allegations fell apart as well.

Maliki seemed obsessed with the idea of absolute authority. He thought that by harming Sunni opposition powers in parliament, getting them out of the government, sending forces to Anbar to discipline them and burning their tents will eliminate terrorism as well as the opposition. At least that is how he sold the story to the Iraqi people.

Imambargah official booked
[DAWN] Police have registered cases against the participants of a mourning procession for bringing out the procession without the government s’ permission and the administration of an under construction imambargah at Adiala Road on charges of violating ban on use of loudspeaker, police said on Tuesday.

The first case was registered with the Saddar Bairooni police on the complaint of a police official who said that he was on security duty outside the residence of Syed Intikhab Hussain Shah in Dhoke Baba Adial on Muharram 15 when a mourning procession led by Muhammad Hanif appeared from the house.

Abu Sayyaf rebel nabbed in Sulu
[Mindanao Examiner] Philippine troops captured an Abu Sayyaf rebel during continuing operations against in the province of Sulu against the Daesh-linked terrorist group. Soldiers captured Pauji Asgari in Talipao town on Tuesday after villagers tipped off troops about the presence of Abu Sayyaf militants.

Brigadier General Arnel dela Vega, the commander of Joint Task Force Sulu, said Abu Sayyaf rebels have been trying to blend into civilian communities to avoid detection and capture. He said Asgari was handed over to the police on Wednesday after being interrogated at a military base in the capital town of Jolo.

On Monday, the military killed a captured Abu Sayyaf member Ustab Anji after he grabbed a weapon from one of his guards in the village of Magsagaw in Panglima Sugala town in Tawi-Tawi province. Soldiers were on their way to the police headquarters to hand over Anji when he grabbed the firearm. Anji was involved in the kidnappings this year of Indonesian and Malaysian sailors in Sabah, Malaysia. He was among those who kidnapped 21 mostly European holidaymakers also in Sabah, Malaysia in 2000 and had a P350,000 bounty on his head.

Hamas slams UN chief over Al-Aqsa resolution
Is he getting death threats, like the head of UNESCO?
[AA.TR] Paleostinian group Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", has criticized UN Secretary-General the ephemeral Ban Ki-moon for distancing himself from a UNESCO resolution denying a Jewish connection to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

On Tuesday, the UNESCO’s executive board officially adopted a resolution that referred to the al-Aqsa mosque as a purely Islamic heritage.

Ban, for his part, said that the holy site belongs to all religions.

"The SecretaryGeneral reaffirms the importance of the Old City of Jerusalem and its Walls for the three monotheistic religions and stresses the importance of the religious and historical link of the Jewish, Moslem and Christian peoples to the holy site," Ban’s front man Estefan Dogrec said.

Hamas described Ban’s statement as a "violation of his duties".

"These statements are evidence of [Ban’s] violation of international resolutions for serving Israeli interests," the Paleostinian group said in a statement.

For Moslems, al-Aqsa represents the world's third holiest site. Jews, for their part, refer to the area as the "Temple Mount," claiming it was the site of two Jewish temples in ancient times.

Berri Slams Accusing Aoun and Hariri of Seeking to 'Topple Shiism'
[An Nahar] Berri denied reports that quoted him as accusing the al-Mustaqbal

Movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri
Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.
and MP Michel Aoun
...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
of seeking to "topple Shiism," and described the reports as "inciting," An Nahar Daily reported on Wednesday.

"All the news and talks that AMAL and the Liberation and Development bloc mentioned something about a Maronite-Sunni bilateral power-sharing of the 1943 are unfounded. This rhetoric is inciting and I categorically deny it," Berri told the daily.

"We will not boycott the election sessions in spite of our objection to vote for Aoun. I will congratulate anyone who succeeds," he added.

Media reports alleged Tuesday that Berri had accused Aoun and Hariri of seeking to "topple political Shiism" in Leb, warning that such an attempt might lead to a "civil war" in the country.

MP Alain Aoun of the FPM announced Monday that Hariri will announce his endorsement of Aoun "this week."

The ex-PM has been exploring the possibility of endorsing Aoun for several weeks now and on Sunday Education Minister Elias Bou Saab of the FPM announced that Hariri has officially decided to endorse Aoun's presidential bid.

Leb has been without a president since the term of Michel Suleiman
...before assuming office as President, he held the position of commander of the Leb Armed Forces. That was after the previous commander, the loathesome Emile Lahoud, took office as president in November of 1998. Likely the next president of Leb will be whoever's commander of the armed forces, too...
ended in May 2014 and Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
, Aoun's Change and Reform bloc and some of their allies have been boycotting the parliament's electoral sessions, stripping them of the needed quorum.

Aoun Bloc Says AMAL Remarks on War, Sunni-Christian Deal 'Unacceptable'
[An Nahar] The Change and Reform parliamentary bloc on Tuesday dismissed accusations from Speaker Nabih Knobby Berri
Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, a member of AMAL, a not very subtle Hizbullah sock puppet...
's AMAL Movement about an alleged "Sunni-Christian" deal as an attempt to "blackmail" the supporters of Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
founder MP Michel Aoun
...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
's presidential bid.

Describing Aoun as "the nominee whose candidacy conforms with the National Pact," the bloc boasted that the FPM founder "has become immunized with broad support" from the majority of the political parties.

"The (Oct. 16) speeches of General Aoun and (FPM chief Jebran) Bassil carried all the indications about a project to build the state with all the country's components without the exclusion of anyone," said the bloc in a statement issued after its weekly meeting.

"The National Pact is not bilateral or tripartite but rather for everyone," it stressed.

"Any remarks about Christian-Sunni bilateral powersharing are unacceptable and seditious and we will confront any attempt to stir sedition," the bloc added.

And reassuring that "the project of the state" is its "unifying project," Change and Reform stressed the importance of "passing an electoral law that ensures correct representation in line with the National Pact."

"We do not apologize and we do not try to justify and we are walking with firm steps towards the National Pact and the Leb of national partnership. Those who want to support us are free to support us and those who do not want to support us are free to oppose us without launching arbitrary accusations," the bloc added.

Earlier in the day, Berri's aide and Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil confirmed that the speaker's Development and Liberation bloc would "vote against" Aoun in any presidential election session.

Philippine Police Van Runs Over Protesters at U.S. Embassy
[An Nahar] A Philippine police van on Wednesday rammed and ran over baton-wielding protesters outside the U.S. embassy in Manila, with the driver of the vehicle saying he panicked because he feared being mobbed.

Hundreds of protesters had gathered at the embassy to voice support for President Rodrigo Duterte's recent tirades against the United States, the Philippines' longtime ally, and call for American troops to leave the country.

Television footage showed protesters hitting the vehicle with long sticks and breaking through a security cordon close to the embassy. Police also fired tear gas and used their batons to strike back at protesters.

At one stage the van reversed quickly into dozens of people then forward again, running over a man, who was able to stand up and stumble away.

"They were trying to take over the vehicle, trying to overturn it," the vehicle's driver, police officer Franklin Khu, told news hounds afterwards, according to ABS CBN television, which filmed the incident.

Asked if he panicked, Khu said: "Of course, our vehicle was overturning and if they seized control, they could run down other coppers."

Police chiefs said some of the protesters had sustained minor injuries, although rally organizers said 50 were hurt and five had been taken to hospital.

Photos showed a second man trapped underneath the van after it had stopped, with his leg and hips under one of the back tyres. He was later seen limping away.

Police insisted the protesters had instigated the violence.

"We had to disperse them. They started it. They were trying to enter the embassy," Chief Inspector Arsenio Riparip, one of the officers overseeing the incident, told AFP.

The Final Trump-Clinton Debate
Steve Green, a.k.a. Vodkapundit is drunkblogging the debate here. No doubt others are, too, and there will be plenty who have opinions on this last debate before the election. What say you, dear Reader, about who won, who lost, and what were the cleverest points made?

Rolled over for continued discussion.

#10  A few days ago I laid out the major flaws of Trump's debating skills. He can't focus on one topic. Hillary is vulnerable, and quite a view vulnerabilities came up. Take your finger and dig in.

What about Haiti and the Clinton Foundation? Golden opportunity to expose corruption. But no, Hillary gets him to fumble the whole thing by bringing up Putin. His team MUST have alerted him to that.

#11  “I will look at it at the time,” Trump said. “What I have seen is so bad. First of all, the media is so dishonest and corrupt and the pile-on is amazing.” The media, he said, has “poisoned the mind of voters.”

If you look at voter rolls, you will see millions of people registered to vote who should not be registered to vote. Let me give you one other thing: She should not be allowed to vote; she’s guilty of serious crime,” Trump blasted Clinton. “She should not be allowed to run and, in that respect I say it’s rigged. She should never have been allowed to run for president, based on what she did with her emails and so many other things.”

Wallace appeared stunned, explaining the peaceful transition of power, no matter how hard-fought an election, calls for the candidate who loses to concede “for the good of the country.”

“What I’m saying, I will tell you at the time. I will keep you in suspense,” Trump said, seeming to bask in the spotlight.

“That’s horrifying,” Clinton interjected.

THIS is what I wanted my candidate to say to these corrupt people. If the count goes to the Beast, the hunt is on.

#12  She's a lawyer and a politician. He is neither. She's been at this game for decades. He's obviously a political outsider. Did he do better this time than the last two? Yes, probably so. Was it a TKO? Sadly no.

He did VERY well on the abortion issue, which is IMHO, the central driving force of her candidacy. Creds to Wallace for bringing it up. He missed the opportunity to discuss Planned Parenthood and body parts. He did well on the 2nd Amendment issue also, but missed the opportunity to bomb her with the 'increased gov't regulations' piece.

No mention of her health issues which could have easily been done by siting his own 'good' health and stamina. No mention of Benghazi or her lies to families at Dover, AFB. No mention of developing story of Bob Creamer's 300+ visits to the White House. His not accepting the election results was an overblown issue.

Could I have done better? I doubt it. I'm praying for him and our country, but it does not look good.

#13  He missed so many good opportunities. But he is easily distracted, can't focus. And often he doesn't seem to understand what exactly Hillary did wrong.

He needed to explain to the public what exactly is wrong with the emails, what went down with pay for play, what exactly went down in Benghazi etc.

He needed to explain how Hillary would gut the Second by nominating liberal judges.

The election system may be flawed but he won't lose because of that.

#15  It was a Mexican stand-off--a draw. Both sucked for different reasons; both were unprepared despite the topic areas being publicized beforehand. What were they doing in the days prior to the debate(?); supposedly they were preparing. Hillary had an easier strategy than Donald--she used her usual strategy--she lied about everything. Donald or his team must have also had trouble wading through the voluminous Podesta emails as there was considerable ammunition in them. The best I can say is that we are done with the debates. I'll go over to Drudge where the polls say Donald won by a landslide--makes me feel a bit better. I believe we are (bigly, big league, or biggly) better off with Trump and his NYC mannerisms than with the Clinton corruption. The latter would present a danger for our allies as well as for our citizens. Trump has actually built something in this lifetime and not spread death and destruction in the Mideast.

There were a few others as well. It doesn't really matter what I think. It's what the voters think on Nov. 8th. Hopefully, there won't be too much fraud going on in this election. If there is, can the voters just shoot the fraudsters?

#17  Too bad Chris Wallace couldn't have moderated all of the debates.

I thought Trump did much better last night than he has in the previous two. Maybe some of that was because Wallace kept both candidates in line.

The bully boy group formerly known as Al-Nusra Front has expanded, in part, because its fighters also oppose Islamic State on the battlefield and are rarely targeted in Arclight airstrikes by U.S. and coalition aircraft, American officials say.

Turkish Air Force to join Mosul operation
Turkey's defense minister confirmed Tuesday the country’s air force will join the operation to liberate Mosul from Daesh, Anadolu reported.

Fikri Isik's remarks came on Tuesday evening in Rome at the Turkish embassy. Addressing reporters after a South-Eastern defense ministers meeting, Isik said: "We have come to an agreement with coalition forces that our air force will join the Mosul operation."

When asked to evaluate Turkey being invited to a meeting on Mosul in Paris in the coming days, Isik said: "It is impossible to decide on Mosul's future without Turkey."

A broad military campaign aimed at retaking northern Iraq’s Daesh-held city entered its second day on Tuesday with more losses sustained by the terrorist group. In mid-2014, Daesh captured Mosul -- Iraq’s second-largest city -- before overrunning large swathes of territory in the country’s northern and western regions.

Recent months have seen the Iraqi army, backed by local allies on the ground and a U.S.-led air coalition, retake much territory. Nevertheless, the terrorist group remains in control of several parts of the country, including Mosul.

In recent weeks, the army and its allies have staged a gradual advance on the city, which officials in Baghdad have vowed to recapture by year’s end.

Palestinian woman killed in attempt to stab officers — police
[IsraelTimes] Alleged attacker approaches Tapuah Junction in West Bank, is shot after ignoring warning fire; no Israelis injured.

A Paleostinian woman allegedly attempted a stabbing attack at the Tapuah Junction, south of Nablus in the West Bank, Wednesday, and was rubbed out by Israeli police.

There were no injuries to Israeli security forces or civilians.

"Attempted stabbing at Tapuah Junction," the Israel Police tweeted. "A short while ago a female suspect approached Border Police officers at the scene holding a knife. When she failed to heed their calls to halt, they shot and neutralized her."

In a subsequent statement confirming the alleged attacker was killed, police said officers fired warning shots in the air before opening fire on her. They said she was 19 years old, from the nearby village of Asira ash-Shamaliya.

In the aftermath of the attack, the junction was closed to traffic.

The junction has been the scene of several stabbing, shooting, and car-ramming attacks.

5 Palestinians arrested for shooting at IDF troops
[IsraelTimes] Army says the residents of Ramallah-area village admitted to buying weapons, opening fire on soldiers on eve of Yom Kippur

Israeli security forces tossed in the clink
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
five Paleostinians for a shooting attack against IDF troops in the West Bank last week, the army said in a statement Wednesday.

The five suspects -- all residents of the village of Ni’lin near Ramallah -- were arrested in the days following the attack. All five admitted to purchasing weapons from a local arms dealer and carrying out the attack, the army said.

The five approached the security fence near Ni’lin last Tuesday, and opened fire on IDF troops before fleeing the scene. No soldiers were maimed in the incident.

IDF arrest raids in the West Bank have stepped up slightly, as military officials attempt to head off what they fear may be an uptick in violence during the fall holiday season, when tensions have been known to rise.

Over the past few months, the IDF, Shin Bet and police have been cracking down on illegal arms manufacturing and weapons smuggling in the West Bank and Israel.

Israel in the past year saw a wave of so-called "lone-wolf" Paleostinian terror attacks, which have claimed the lives of 35 Israelis and four foreign nationals since October 2015. Some 227 Paleostinians have also been killed in the past year, with the Israeli army and police saying that most of those killed were attackers or involved in festivities with security forces.

Protesters Allegedly Hold Journalists Hostage At Dakota Oil Pipeline Rally
[Daily Caller] Protesters allegedly intimidated and held a crew of journalists hostage Tuesday at one of the Dakota oil pipeline protests in North Dakota.

Activists associated with the Dakota Access Pipeline protests threatened to slash journalists Phelm McAleer and Magdalena Segieda’s tires and seize their filming equipment. The two reporters were conducting interviews at the Sacred Stone Camp where protesters have gathered to prevent the construction of an oil pipeline.

Federal officials are refusing to evict those hunkered down at the anti-pipeline encampments near the highly controversial, $3.8 billion project. Officials believe booting the protesters would harm free speech rights, despite the fact that the land is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

"Someone out of the blue started attacking, tried to steel our microphone," McAleer told The Daily Caller News Foundation, prompting his crew to flea to their vehicle as protesters followed close behind.

620 Syrian Rebels Quit Besieged Town near Damascus
[An Nahar] Around 620 rebels and their families began evacuating a besieged town southwest of the Syrian capital on Wednesday under a deal with the government, a local official told AFP.

"The buses of rebels have begun moving," said Hassan Ghandour, a member of the local committee overseeing the deal in Moadamiyat al-Sham.

He said the buses held rebels as well as their family members and would head to Idlib province, northwest of Damascus.

Moadamiyet al-Sham has been under a devastating government siege since early 2013.

Syria's government has championed such local deals -- which typically see rebels evacuated in exchange for an end to their encirclement -- as a way to bring stability to the war-ravaged country.

Another member of the local reconciliation committee who spoke to AFP on condition of anonymity said the evacuees -- rebels and civilians -- numbered 2,100 people.

Any remaining rebels would hand themselves in to Syrian authorities "to have their status regularized," the member said.

"Then, the Syrian army will enter the town and state institutions will return to it. Infrastructure like water and electricity networks will be repaired beginning on Sunday," the member added.

Syrian rebels to fight Iraqi ISIS troops
[ARA News] Hasakah – The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) will continue their operations against Islamic State’s (ISIS) militants, regardless of the developments of the ongoing Mosul campaign in northern Iraq, a top SDF official said on Wednesday.

Talal Silo, commander and official spokesman of the Syrian Democratic Forces, told ARA News: “The ongoing battle for Mosul in Iraq doesn’t have any direct impact on the situation of our forces in Syria. If ISIS’ terrorists make any movements here, especially in the northeastern Hasakah governorate near Iraqi border, our forces [SDF] are ready to defend the region.”

“There are ongoing clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces and ISIS terrorists at several fronts in northern Syria. We are also prepared to face any attempts of infiltration by ISIS’ terrorists fleeing from Iraq’s Mosul,” Silo said.

In regard to the current situation in the former jihadi pocket of Manbij, the SDF official said: “The recently liberated city of Manbij is now being run by the local councils [military council and civilian council].”

“Since its liberation from ISIS terrorists, the city has been run by the local citizens who sacrificed a lot for the freedom of this city,” he said.

The SDF spokesman also accused Turkey of impeding SDF progress against ISIS in northern Syria, especially after the Turkish military intervention in the northern countryside of Aleppo Governorate.

“We’ve seen the Turkish government, and its leader Erdogan, issuing fake statements to the media concerning the liberated Syrian towns, directing baseless accusations to the SDF,” Silo told ARA News, referring to the Turkish claims that the Kurdish YPG forces [leading member of SDF] is affiliated to the PKK and thus considered a terrorist organization.

“We [SDF] have an agreement with the US-led coalition regarding the situation in every area freed from ISIS. The agreement also entails maintaining the SDF-led local forces that have liberated different towns from ISIS, and the necessity to keep those forces to protect their areas. So, Turkey is against this, but the coalition knows how to deal with the Turkish ambitions,” Silo said.

Furthermore, several Syrian rebels factions have joined the SDF ranks in the fight against ISIS, according to the official.

“We have called on all revolutionary forces in Syria to join the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Since the establishment of the SDF, more than 20 rebel factions have joined our ranks,” he said. “We still have communication channels with other factions, including Arabs and Turkmen. We have invited them to join the Syrian Democratic Forces to liberate and rebuild the country.”

‘We failed,’ New York police commissioner says of sergeant fatally shooting ‘emotionally disturbed’ woman
[WASHINGTONPOST] Authorities in New York were sharply critical Wednesday of a police sergeant responding to a call about an "emotionally disturbed person" on Tuesday night who officials said fatally shot a 66-year-old woman wielding a baseball bat.

Police said they were investigating the shooting that occurred in the Bronx apartment of Deborah Danner, who authorities said was known to officers after previous, similar calls about her. In blunt public statements on Wednesday, officials said Sgt. Hugh Barry did not follow his training and said they were seeking to determine why he fired his gun rather than his Taser.

"The shooting of Deborah Danner is tragic and it is unacceptable," New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said during a news conference Wednesday afternoon. "It should never have happened. It’s as simple as that. It should never have happened."

New York Police Commissioner James O’Neill said earlier Wednesday that "we failed" and he wanted to know why.

Iraq
Baghdadi still in Mosul
Heading up the troops, yew betcha
[ARA News] Erbil – The supreme leader of the Islamic State (ISIS) extremist group Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has not left Mosul despite the start of the US-backed military campaign, Kurdish official and former minister of finance in the Iraqi government Hoshyar Zebari said on Wednesday.

According to intelligence reports, al-Baghdadi is still in Mosul along with the ISIS military commander Fawzi Ali.

The presence of al-Baghdadi in Mosul is reportedly meant to raise the morale of his militant fighters in the face of the fiercest military operations on the ISIS’ capital in Iraq.

“ISIS terrorists are under a heavy pressure amid the continuous progress by the Kurdish Peshmergas and the Iraqi army forces towards Mosul city since the start of the operation earlier this week,” he said.

“The radical group in Mosul is being hit from the north, east and south by the coalition forces,” media activist Sipan Saleh told ARA News.

“Under heavy blows by the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army, supported by the coalition’s airstrikes, ISIS won’t be able to hold for long in Mosul. Whether al-Baghdadi is there or not, it won’t matter much. Once the anti-ISIS forces enter the city, a large surge of dissidence is expected to hit the group’s ranks before its complete collapse,” Saleh said.

Exxon boss tells peers, Saudis their oil supply crunch bet is wrong
[REUTERS] Exxon Mobil's boss Rex Tillerson told Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's energy minister on Wednesday that fears of a new global oil supply crunch were exaggerated as the U.S. oil industry was adapting to the low price shock and was set to resume growth.

The remarks by Tillerson, who is due to retire before March next year, about the resilience of the U.S. oil industry come as the Saudis have effectively abandoned their strategy to drive higher cost producers out of the market by ramping up cheap supplies from their own fields.

More than two years of downturn that saw oil prices halve to around $50 a barrel today after a boom in U.S. shale oil production have led to a sharp decline in investment.

But Tillerson, who heads the world's largest listed oil and gas company, said that shale oil producers' resilience in cutting costs to make some wells profitable at as low as $40 a barrel means that North America has effectively become a swing producer that will be able to respond rapidly to any global supply shortage.

Russian hacker sought by US arrested in Czech Republic
[FOXNEWS] Czech police have tossed in the slammer
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
a Russian hacker suspected of cyberattacks in the United States, officials said on Wednesday.

Police said an international warrant for the man, who was not named, was issued by Interpol and that officers cooperated with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation on the case.

Hours after the arrest was made public, the professional networking service LinkedIn suggested that the arrest was tied to a 2012 breach of member information. A front man for the U.S. Justice Department declined to confirm that or comment on a possible connection.

"Following the 2012 breach of LinkedIn member information, we have remained actively involved with the FBI's case to pursue those responsible," the company said in a statement Wednesday. "We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of the FBI in its efforts to locate and capture the parties believed to be responsible for this criminal activity."

In May, LinkedIn said that the 2012 breach resulted in more than 100 million of its users' passwords being compromised -- vastly more than previously thought. The business social network said that it believes to be true a purported hacker's claim that 117 million user emails and passwords were stolen in the breach.

Police front man Jozef Bocan said the suspect was arrested in a Prague hotel. After the arrest the suspect collapsed, received first aid treatment and was hospitalized, Bocan said.

Obama Clears Afghan Taliban Terrorist for Guantanamo Release Despite ‘Threat’
[BREITBART] The B.O. regime’s Guantánamo parole board has released an al-Qaeda-linked jihadi recruiter from Mauritania and approved for release an Afghan man affiliated with the Taliban and al-Qaeda who "still presents some level of threat."

After the release of Mauritanian prisoner Mohammedou Ould Slahi to his home country on Monday, the total number of detainees at the U.S. military prison in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, also known as Gitmo, dropped to 60.

On October 3, the parole board also declared al-Qaeda-affiliated detainee Mohammed Ahmed Rabbani from Pakistain too dangerous to release, making him the 25th individual deemed an indefinite detainee, or "forever prisoner," by Obama’s panel.

Nevertheless, the B.O. regime has reversed previous "forever prisoner" designations and released individuals who had been deemed too dangerous for release.

On September 26, the multi-agency parole panel, officially known as the Periodic Review Board (PRB), recommended that Afghan detainee Haji Wali Muhammad be transferred "to a country with reintegration support and the capacity to implement robust security measures, including monitoring and travel restrictions," adding, "The Board noted that the detainee does not appear to be motivated by bad boy ideologies, and the detainees relatively compliant behavior and cooperative attitude toward [Gitmo] staff."

Obama said the push to liberate the northern city, the jihadists’ last stronghold in Iraq, now in its second day, was a "major step forward." "I am confident that ISIS will be defeated in Mosul and that will be another step toward their ultimate destruction," he told a joint news conference with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, using an acronym for the jihadist group. But the US leader warned of a challenging road ahead.

"Mosul will be a difficult fight. There will be advances and there will be setbacks," Obama said.

"Perhaps one million civilians are still living there," Obama added. "In addition to rooting out ISIS, our focus is on the safety and humanitarian aid for civilians escaping the fight. That will be a top priority for both our governments."

Khamenei’s favorite reciter hit by rape claims
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Rape victims are coming forward alleging the one of Iran’s leading Koran readers sexually molested them.

Saeed Toosi is considred one of Iran’s most celebrated Koran reader and was once considered an "exemplary model to be followed" according to Khamenei, current Supreme Leader of Iran.

The 46-year-old representative of Iran in the international Koranic competition, and the winner of the first prize both internationally and locally, has reportedly raped seven of his students aged between 12 ad 14, during the past seven years.

They decided to shed light on their cases and bring it to the public while an Iranian court attempts at covering up the sexual scandal under supposed direct orders from the Khamenei and the Supreme Judicial authorities.

Toosi adds up to a growing list of scandal facing Tehran, after series of economic ones have preoccupied the Iranian public.

In a television program broadcasted by The Persian Voice of America , three of the rape victims said that they have written evidence and audio recordings clearly pointing to Toosi in which he admitted with his own handwriting that it his actions were a "mistake".

In an audio recording , Toosi is heard saying the that Khamenei is well aware of the situation, and had agreed with the head of the judiciary authority Sadek Larijani to cover up the case in order to safeguard the reputation of the Koranic institution in Iran.

One of the victims, a first prize winner in one of the recent Koranic competition, alleged that Toosi took advantage of him when he was his lover companion for a competition abroad. He deliberately booked one hotel room where he molested and raped the then 12-year-old.

The victims added that they filed complaints against the Koranic reader to officials in the House of the Leadership after they were were advised to. Yet officials have ignored their claims after receiving a"repentance letter " where Toosi admitted his wrongoing and claimed "he is a changed man".

Assad’s father-in-law in denial: ‘No children being bombed in Syria’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] When Asma al-Assad’s father was asked about his feelings toward the deaths of children at the hands of his son-in-law’s regime, Dr. Fawaz Akhras responded: "What children? I’ve seen no children being bombed."

His comments were made to the Daily Express’ Adam Helliker, who approached Akhras last week outside the private Cromwell hospital in Earl’s Court.

Akhras, 69, still supports Bashir al-Assad’s rule and continues to lead a privileged life in Britannia, living with his wife Sahar in Acton.

More than 430 people have been killed in bombardment on the eastern half since the assault on Aleppo was announced on September 22, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

High-profile terror trial begins in Kazakhstan
[RFE/RL] A high-profile trial against alleged Islamist terrorists and their supporters has begun in northwestern Kazakhstan.

Preliminary hearings against 29 defendants started in the city of Aqtobe on October 18. Nine of the suspects were charged with terrorism, murder, organizing and taking part in a terrorist group, and illegal possession and use of firearms. Eighteen defendants were charged with failing to report planned terrorist acts. The other two were charged with harboring criminals.

In June, Kazakh authorities said a group of 25 alleged Islamist rebels carried out a string of attacks that killed five civilians and three members of Kazakhstan's security forces in Aqtobe. Security forces killed 18 gunmen and nabbed several others.

President Nursultan Nazarbaev has said the attacks were carried out by Salafis.

NJ terror bombing suspect moved from hospital to prison
[AlAhram] A man accused of setting off bombs in New Jersey and New York, injuring more than 30 people, has been moved from a hospital to a state prison.

Ahmad Khan Rahimi
...the probably Taliban-trained Afghan-American whose various bombs in New York and New Jersey caused havoc last month, and whose last name is also spelt Rahami, for some reason...
was transferred to a state facility on Tuesday instead of a county jail for his safety and security, New Jersey Corrections Department front man Matt Schuman said. Schuman would not identify the facility.

The Afghan-born U.S. citizen had been hospitalized with gunshot wounds following a police shootout that led to his capture in Linden on Sept. 19.

He remains held on $5.2 million bail.

Rahimi, 28, has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
to five counts of attempted murder of a police officer and weapons offenses.

During a video court appearance on Oct. 13, he was read his rights by Judge Regina Caulfield and answered "yes" in a faint voice to a series of questions.

He is accused of detonating a pipe bomb along the route of a scheduled Marine Corps charity race in the New Jersey shore town of Seaside Park and a pressure cooker bomb in New York City on Sept. 17. No one was injured in the New Jersey blast, and 31 people were hurt in the New York blast. A second pressure cooker bomb did not explode.

Rahimi has not made court appearances on federal charges in either state.

[AnNahar] Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
has burnt down a village neighboring the northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
n town of Chibok where the group kidnapped over 200 schoolgirls two years ago, local residents said Wednesday.

A group of Boko Haram gunnies invaded Goptari, 10 kilometers from Chibok, late Tuesday and set it on fire after looting food supplies and livestock.

The attack underscores the continued threat of Boko Haram in Nigeria's volatile northeast, where the military is still battling for control despite making gains against the forces of Evil over the past year.

"They attacked the village around 8:00 pm (1900GMT), firing heavy guns which made people flee into the bush," Samson Bulus from nearby Kautikeri village told AFP.

"The Boko Haram raiders looted homes and shops, taking along food supplies and livestock before burning the entire village," he said.

Luka Damina, another Kautikeri resident said troops in Chibok engaged the attackers in shootout but were subdued by the bad boys.

"The Boko Haram fighters overpowered the soldiers and seized a van with a machine gun mounted on the deck from the soldiers," he said.

Witnesses, including a local chief, said a soldier was maimed during the shootout.

The attack came two days after a raid on nearby Kallali village where the Islamists looted and burnt homes, a local chief told AFP.

Last month eight people were killed outside a church in a village 30 kilometers east of Chibok. In August, 10 people were killed in another attack on nearby Kubrivu village.

Lebanon's Hariri Said to Endorse Hezbollah Ally Michel Aoun for President
[Haaretz] Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri intends to endorse Michel Aoun
...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
for the country's vacant presidency, political sources said, though a leading member of Hariri's party was quoted as saying the decision was not yet final.

The proposal would result in Aoun, a political ally of the Iranian-backed Shi'ite group Hezbollah, becoming head of state and Hariri becoming prime minister for the second time, the senior political sources said.

Political conflict has left the Lebanese presidency empty for 2 1/2 years. The post is reserved for a Maronite Christian in Leb's sectarian power-sharing arrangements.

It was not immediately clear if Aoun's candidacy would enjoy enough support among other Lebanese politicians to secure the necessary two-thirds quorum for the vote in the 128-seat parliament. The next scheduled parliamentary session to elect a president is set for Oct. 31.

Military Operation To Be Launched In Jawzjan
Governor of Jawzjan province, Lotfullah Azizi, on Wednesday said soon a military operation will be launched in Darzab and Qush Tapa districts of the province under the command of second vice president general Abdul Rashid Dostum, to clear the region of Taliban.

He stated the two districts are the most vulnerable districts in Jawzjan province and parts of them have fallen to the Taliban.

"There are two districts that are mountainous and more than 100 kms from the center of the province and insurgents are active there. We hope to launch an operation when general Dostum comes to Jawzjan from Faryab," Azizi said.

Azizi also hailed the public uprising groups and said the groups are made up of more than one thousand armed man and have filled the gap of a strong police force in the province.

"The public uprising numbers reach 1,000 to 2,000 and play effective roles in maintaining security," he added.

Members from a number of public uprising groups have said they are ready to fight the insurgents and maintain their security.

They also have complained about the negligence of government in not addressing their challenges.

"Poor peoples' sons have died and their homes were stolen. What aid have they provided to the people? They (government) didn't help them," said Shir, a member of a public uprising group.

"The public uprising groups have maintained the security of Faizabad city. If they do not defend the region, the police cannot go to the villages," said Abdul Muqim, another member of a public uprising group.

"We defend our country, our people and our sisters. To help our schools be reconstructed and we all get educated," said Mohammad Yousuf, a member of a public uprising group. He has lost an arm in fighting insurgents.

Mullah Faqir, fought against security forces for more than a year on the side of Taliban. Six years ago, along with his 15 men, joined the peace process and since then he has been fighting the insurgents and currently is a member of a public uprising group.

"Taliban collect taxes from people and it is cruel. We have seen how they have annoyed people. Then we joined peace process to defend our people," Faqir said.

Meanwhile, the Ulema council also said the people who are trying to destabilize the country are cruel and urged the government to stop them.

"Government should stop the people who are trying to separate the people and expand the war and insecurity. They are cruel and should be stopped," said Maulavi Samaruddin Makhdom, a member of Jawzjan Ulema Council.

However, concerns have been expressed over the management of public uprising groups and have said if they are not managed well, they will cause problems in the future.

Turk arrested for security-related offenses deported

A 32-year-old Turkish citizen who was detained for questioning on September 29 on suspicion of security-related offenses was deported back to Turkey from Israel on Wednesday.

Orhan Buyruk, a Moslem, worked for a tourism company and allegedly came to Israel for religious reasons and to pray in Jerusalem. Both before and during his visit, he expressed hostile intentions, principally on social media. The Shin Bet thus decided to detain him for investigation.

As his actions did not go beyond declarations, it was decided that he would not be indicted, and his deportation from Israel was considered sufficient sanction.
There's a lovely picture at the link of a smiling Mr. Buyruk with Raed Salah, the so-called Sheikh of Al Aqsa, leader of the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, known as the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement. Northern Branch trains the Murabitun cadres who cause such trouble in the Temple Mount. Perhaps that was what annoyed the authorities?
The Israeli authorities transferred Buyruk to the Turkish Embassy, which sent him home. On his Facebook timeline, he wrote, "I was released after 21 days, and I'm boarding the 10:35 plane. I thank everybody for the support and the prayers.

Turkish security forces have meanwhile stepped up action against Kurdish bad boys, killing 14 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) fighters in eastern Turkey in recent days, the interior minister said.

Police tracked the Islamic State suspect to the ninth floor of a building on Ankara's outskirts, where he was killed in a shootout around 3 a.m. after opening fire in response to a call to surrender, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.

"The terrorist is judged to have been planning to carry out a suicide kaboom and carried out reconnaissance around the old parliament building and Anitkabir," Governor Ercan Topaca wrote on Twitter, referring to the mausoleum of modern Turkey's founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

The suspect may have been targeting ceremonies to be held there on the Oct. 29 anniversary of the Turkish Republic's foundation or on Nov. 10 to commemorate Ataturk's death, Anadolu cited Topaca as saying.

Police found kabooms including sticks of dynamite and ammonium nitrate at the scene, the governor said.

Britain
Two Thirds of ‘Child Refugees’ Are Adults, Tory MP Slams ‘Naive Lily Allen Tears’
[Breitbart] A shocking 65 per cent of all the ’children’ were found to be over 18 according to Home Office figures collected in the year to September 2015.

In that period, 590 asylum applicants had their age disputed and of those, 574 recorded as having an age assessment. Of the 574 refugees checked, 371 were found to be adults.

Moslem colonists Migrants from Calais began to arrive in the UK earlier this week, despite the government promising not to accept them from safe countries such as La Belle France, after campaigners took advantage of a new loophole in migration law.

Campaigners promised those accepted would be the most vulnerable and needy in the camp. However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
so far images (above) of the migrants colonists appear to show groups of fully grown adults, who are exclusively men.

David Davies, the Conservative MP for Monmouth, told BBC Radio 4 this morning the British public "were given the impression that they were very young children who were desperate to get into the UK, and that doesn’t seem to have happened."

He explained that when he visited Calais the migrants colonists were "virtually all young men and very few young children" and said: "There’s no good being naive about this. It’s all well and good [pop singer] Lily Allen turning up with tears in her eyes, but we need to be quite hard-nosed here".

Currently, the Homes Office only uses the "physical appearance" or "demeanour" of migrants colonists to estimate their age.

Mr. Davies argued that unless the government did more establish their age it would "undermine public trust" and could put British children at risk by housing them with the adult migrants colonists when the arrive.

"I spoke to someone in an asylum centre in the UK recently, who said he’s had people with gray hair who will claim to be 17 ‐ not that anyone believes it... but they do it because it takes that little bit longer to sort the case and the less chance there is they’re going to get removed," he added.

Mr. Davies is proposing using dental scans to estimate the age of the migrants colonists, which he says are already used in 16 out of 22 European Union

drug suspect in Quezon City to the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
Group, an official said Wednesday.

Sr. Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar of the Quezon City Police District said Juraid Sahiddun, who was arrested as a maintainer of a shabu den at the Culiat Salaam compound on Sept. 16, had been using different names to hide his criminal records in Basilan
...Basilan is a rugged, jungle-covered island in the southern Philippines. It is a known stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf, bandidos, and maybe even orcs. Most people with any sense travel with armed escorts...
He made his statement even as the military said 12 local and foreign hostages of the Abu Sayyaf Group were still waiting to be rescued in Sulu.

The military also said a suspected member of the Abu Sayyaf was arrested in Talipao town on Tuesday. Sahiddun, or Sahibul Sailani or Juraid Sahibul, was involved in the mass abduction of 15 Golden Harvest Coconut Plantation workers in Tairan, Lantawan, Basilan in June 2001 at the height of the Dos Palmas kidnapping incident, Eleazar said.

He said he was also involved in the series of encounters and ambuscades against pursuing military forces and the planting of several land mines in a road network in Tipo-Tipo, Basilan, to blow up armored vehicles.

He said the suspect and other members of the Abu Sayyaf were put under surveillance after they took refuge with relatives and friends in Metro Manila.

Sahibul has a standing warrant of arrest for his involvement in the Tairan abduction in 2001.

He is facing drug charges before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

On Sept. 16, authorities raided the Salaam compound that led to the arrest of 145 drug suspects including Sahiddun. Rio N. Araja and Florante S. Solmerin

Somali government forces backed by African Union forces (AMISOM) wrested full control of Afgoye town, about 30km northwest of the capital Mogadishu, according to residents.

The Somali military, along with AMISOM soldiers retaken the district from al-Shabaab militants who seized the key city on Tuesday following a deadly car bomb and gun attack.

AMISOM said in a Twitter post that Somali National Army were still in control of Afgoye after the attack and remained on vigilant to thwart such desperate attempts by Al Shabaab. AU mission added Somali police officers held off the Al Shabaab attack until government military and AMISOM troops reinforcement arrived in the town immediately.

The death toll from Tuesday’s attack on Afgoye has risen to 15, including six senior army officers, while up to 30 others were wounded and admitted to hospital, medics said.

CAIR Leader: Moslems above the law
[Downtrend] For anyone that questions the Muslims' belief in Sharia law, just read this statement that the Dallas Council on American- Islamic Relations (CAIR), Mustafa Carroll, made at a Muslim rally in Austin, Texas:

"If we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land."

Although this statement was made over a year ago, most American citizens are oblivious to what CAIR really is. Headquartered in Washington, D.C. - CAIR is the largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy group. They use public relations firms, and the media, to promote a positive image of Islam in America. This is all while radical Muslims (ISIS) continues to brutally murder, rape and pillage thousands of innocents in the name of Islam.

Iraq
ISIS using human shields
Code Pink conspicuously absent
WASHINGTON: Daesh terrorists were barring civilians from leaving Mosul on Tuesday and using them as human shields, as the battle for the Iraqi city entered its second day, a Pentagon official said.

“We know they are being used as human shields, absolutely,” Pentagon spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis told reporters.

“They are being held there against their will. We have not seen any change in the last day of people leaving or fleeing.”

Currently, the action has largely been in villages surrounding Iraq’s second-largest city and the remaining Daesh stronghold in the country.

President Barack Obama warned of “significant” displacement but said the UN and other aid groups were ready. “We have put together plans and infrastructure for dealing with a potential humanitarian crisis that are as extensive as the military plans,” Obama said.

United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said an estimated 200,000 people are expected to be displaced in the first weeks of the offensive, growing to as many as one million under a worst-case scenario.

But “what you are not seeing is a mass exodus of civilians, and that’s because they are being forcibly held there,” Davis said.

The fighting so far has been fairly light, mainly focused on traditionally Kurdish villages east of Mosul that Kurdish peshmerga fighters are reclaiming from Daesh.

More than 10 officers are needed to monitor each returnee around the clock — resources that overstretched European security agencies simply do not have, security sources said.
Davis said terrorists were deploying suicide-car attackers and had been attempting to thwart air raids and intelligence drones by igniting giant pits full of oil and tires to create thick smoke clouds to hide their movements and positions.

Obama said: “There will be ups and downs in this process, but my expectation is that ultimately it will be successful. This will be, I think, a key milestone in what I committed to doing when Daesh first emerged.”

But the US leader warned of a challenging road ahead. “Mosul will be a difficult fight. There will be advances and there will be setbacks,” he said.

Meanwhile, Europe faces a new influx of Daesh terrorists if Iraqi forces retake Mosul, officials and analysts warned Tuesday.

Experts urged Europe to prepare itself for more battle-hardened extremists ready to launch attacks back home. “The retaking of Mosul, may lead to the return to Europe of violent Daesh fighters,” the EU’s commissioner for security Julian King told German daily Die Welt.

King stressed that even a handful of radicals returning would pose a “serious threat that we must prepare ourselves for.” Around 2,500 European fighters are still in the conflict zones, said King.

Daesh may become less appealing to potential recruits if its Iraqi stronghold were to crumble, but fighters left without a “home” would pose dangers for the West, said Raffaello Pantucci, director of International Security Studies at the Royal United Services Institute.

“Rudderless but without a sense of revolutionary purpose, they will present a menace to security officials around the world for years to come,” he wrote in the Daily Telegraph.

Daesh is “entering a new phase,” said Chris Phillips, managing director of counter-terrorism consultancy Ippso, adding that as the group loses its “caliphate,” “it would force them into more guerrilla or terrorist actions.”

With the retaking of Mosul, “I think we will see a growth of terrorist attacks across North Africa and the West,” he said, adding that fighters could take cover in the routes used by refugees to slip in.

France is particularly jittery about potential returnees, as it has been hit by several terror attacks.

More than 10 officers are needed to monitor each returnee around the clock — resources that overstretched European security agencies simply do not have, security sources said.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault also pointed to the “very difficult work of deradicalization” to set back on the right track children who had been taken by their parents to Syria or Iraq, but who return radicalized.

In Germany, which took in around 900,000 asylum seekers last year alone, skepticism is running high over the newcomers particularly after two attacks in July committed by refugees in the name of Daesh.

...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
, officials said on Wednesday, amid lingering fears that the Middle East bad boy group was making inroads in Pakistain.

Last month, the military said that it had stemmed Islamic State's attempts to expand in the country, having arrested more than 300 people suspected of plotting attacks against government, diplomatic and civilian targets.

Following Tuesday's raid, however, police in the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa

province said Lions of Islam were operating in parts of Peshawar, including some from Islamic State.

"Some of areas in the thriving provincial capital including Tehskal, Palosai, Charsadda Road and Regi are known for activities of bad boy groups such as IS," police official Ishtiaq Ahmed told Rooters.

Another police official, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
as he was not authorized to speak to the media, said two other suspects managed to escape during the raid.

There are fears that some of Pakistain's home-grown Sunni Lions of Islam could be drawn to Islamic State, as already seen in neighboring Afghanistan.

Pakistain has long suffered from sectarian violence, with Sunni Lions of Islam targeting the country's minority Shi'ites, as well as non-Moslem religious minorities.

In August, the official Islamic State news service grabbed credit for a suicide kaboom at a hospital in the southwestern Pak city of Quetta that killed 74 people.

The attack, however, was also claimed by a breakaway faction of the Pak Taliban, Jamaat-ur-Ahrar, which at one time had declared support for Islamic State's Middle East leadership, but later switched back to the Taliban.

Afghanistan
Taliban Tarin Kowt claims 'propaganda'
[NEWS.AU] Reports that Tarin Kowt, the capital of Afghanistan's Oruzgan province, had nearly fallen to krazed killer forces appear to be more Taliban propaganda than fact, a Senate committee has been told.

Acting defence force chief Vice Admiral Ray Griggs said Australia's commander in Afghanistan Brigadier Cheryl Pearce and ambassador Richard Feakes both flew into the city for a security conference soon after the reported attack in early September.

They arrived at the main base, which reportedly had been overrun, and met the provincial governor and the Afghan defence force commander who confirmed they remained in control.

"While it is evident that some checkpoints around Tarin Kowt came under small-scale attack, operational reporting confirmed the city was not in danger of being overrun and the military base remained secure," Admiral Griggs told a Senate estimates committee hearing on Wednesday.

Australian troops operated in Oruzgan province for most of a decade with the last withdrawing at the end of 2013.

Forty-one Australians died in operations, most in and around Oruzgan.

Some 270 Australian personnel remain in Afghanistan in a variety of roles, including mentoring at the Afghan National Army Officer Academy in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
Admiral Griggs said Australia maintained an interest in the security situation in Oruzgan where media reports last month described a major Taliban attack on Tarin Kowt.

He said the reports were based on Taliban propaganda which declared government-controlled outposts overrun, along with the airport and military base where Australian troops were stationed throughout their deployment.

Admiral Griggs said reports from Afghan officials the city was secure were consistent with Defence's own observations and assessments.

Muhanad Badawi, 25, was also sentenced to a lifetime of supervised release during a hearing in federal court in Santa Ana. He was convicted earlier this year of conspiracy to aid a foreign terrorist organization and other crimes.

"The significant sentence the defendant received illustrates the gravity of this crime and the threat the defendants posed to the United States," Deirdre Fike, assistant director in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles office, said in a statement.

Federal authorities had asked for the 30-year sentence for Badawi with lifetime supervised release, which is the same sentence that Elhuzayel received last month from U.S. District Judge David O. Carter.

Defense attorney Kate Corrigan, who has said Badawi never actually intended to fight for the Islamic State, had requested half the amount of prison time and 20 years of supervision, citing his lack of criminal history and age.
Whether he himself went or not, the fact is that he knowingly arranged and paid for the other fellow's travel to Turkey and ISIS, which makes him a procurer.
A message seeking comment was sent to Corrigan on Wednesday.

While in jug, Badawi stopped eating and dropped from 140 to 109 pounds before a judge ordered him force-fed last December.

Arabia
Saudi liberal to Al Arabiya: Preachers reinforce hostility toward modernity
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Saudi liberal writer and novelist Abdullah bin Bakheet has accused Islamic holy mans and preachers for the role in spreading terrorism during a recent exclusive interview with AlArabiya.net.

Bakheet said the phenomenon of terrorism is due to several factors such as extremism, marginalizing the arts, forbidding women’s rights and commented on the role of preachers in spreading terrorism saying the existence of the preacher’s job made the naive hope for pursuing bad boy activities and establishing the caliphate.

"The preacher’s job has done worse than that as it has reinforced hostility towards modern civilization and sanctified this enmity, thus destroying Arabs’ nascent modernity," he said, adding that preachers do not only promote terrorism but have also created the Islamic Awkening and taught young people in the process to despise women.

Bakheet said the roles such preachers play in society constitute the biggest cultural, moral and religious challenges facing Moslems in our modern day lives, noting that the job cannot be traced back to Islamic culture.

"Name one preacher from the Abbasid or the Ummayid or the Ayyubid era...name one person from the history of Islam and whose name is linked to the word ’preacher.’ This preacher’s job has no conditions, and it was created in Egypt and has later taken root in the Saudi kingdom due to the rise of Afghani jihad," the liberal author told AlArabiya.net.

Having lived in abroad for many years, particularly Canada, Bakheet commended the freedoms and rule of law afforded to western citizens.

"It’s by freedom that you eliminate corruption, economy’s and development’s worst enemy, and hatred and terrorism, man’s worst enemy," Bakheet said, adding that according to him all shortcoming in the Islamic world happened due to the lack freedom and absence of rule of law.

Specifying the Saudi liberal role
The author of Street of Affections novel commented on the progress of western countries in comparison to the Arab world saying: "If Saudi journalism in the 1980’s and 1990’s enjoyed the freedom it currently enjoys, we would not have witnessed the disaster of the (emergence of the Islamic) Awakening."

Bakheet commented on recent developments slamming conspiracy theories saying he does not believe in them.

"Conspiracy theories are the conspiracy of fate. In the past, when people suffered from an infectious disease which they did not understand and did not have the knowledge to deal with, they used to just cry and pray and accuse the gods of evil of being behind it. Most people from third world countries still adopt this legend to explain phenomena (they cannot understand). Conspiracy theories are the modern version," Bakheet explained.

Bakheet also addressed women-related affairs in the Saudi kingdom and voiced hope that they will get to enjoy more freedoms such as traveling and going to a restaurant without the need for a male guardian, wearing whatever they want or making a living by opening a small grocery shop.

Commenting on statements that liberals do not have specific agendas and have done nothing but struggle with the inquisitors religious police in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, Bakheet responded saying what’s important in the end is that liberals do not operate as a party but express the points of views which the nation has been deprived from for years, adding that if people want to be fair, they must recall that liberals changed the essence of life and awareness in the Saudi society.

"Who defends women’s rights, workers’ rights and modernity other than the liberals?" he asked, adding that he is currently working on research that he hopes can specify the role of liberals in Saudi society.

Africa North
Two soldiers, 6 militants killed in fourth day of fresh Sinai operation: Army
[AlAhram] Two Egyptian military personnel and six gunnies were killed in the restive North Sinai region, the army said, in the fourth day of a fresh operation by Egypt's air and ground forces to strike turbans based there.

The attacks on Tuesday come as part of a new campaign launched by the army to fight gunnies in the area after a Friday attack on an army checkpoint in the Bir al-Abd area west of El-Arish, the capital of North Sinai, killed 12 soldiers and maimed at least six others.

Egyptian air forces and artillery brigade pounded seven murderous Moslem hideouts on Tuesday, and damaged 16 havens and arms caches used by the myrmidons, the military said in a statement late in the day.

The raids left six gunnies and two soldiers dead, it added.

Since Friday’s attack, the army said it has killed over 50 gunnies in retaliation.

Pause in Aleppo Air War Holds into Second Day
[An Nahar] A pause in Russian and Syrian strikes on Aleppo was holding for a second day Wednesday, ahead of a brief unilateral ceasefire aimed at allowing civilians and rebels to quit the devastated city.

Moscow announced it would extend an eight-hour truce planned for Thursday to 11 hours and said Syrian and Russian warplanes were giving Aleppo a wide berth.

At a meeting in Berlin, French President Francois Hollande
...the Socialist president of La Belle France, an economic bad joke for la Belle France but seemingly a foreign policy realist...
said he would work with Germany to persuade Russia to adopt a long-lasting truce around Syria's second city.

Despite the Russian initiative, EU leaders at a summit on Thursday are expected to condemn Moscow over attacks on civilians in Aleppo, according to a draft statement obtained by AFP.

Russia's ceasefire plan has stirred skepticism in the West and the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
said it would be insufficient to allow humanitarian aid to reach encircled Aleppo inhabitants.

's regime in its war with a wide range of rebel groups, including with air strikes in the divided northern city.

Under growing international pressure over the devastation and civilian deaths, Moscow announced early Tuesday that Russian and Syrian warplanes would stop bombing rebel-held parts of the city to pave the way for a "humanitarian pause".

That window, starting at 0500 GMT on Thursday, was initially meant to last eight hours and is expected to see all fighting stop to allow civilians and rebels to exit opposition-held districts via six corridors.

jihadist group.

"It is necessary not to drive bully boyz from one country to the other but to destroy them on the spot," the chief of Russia's General Staff Valery Gerasimov said in a statement.

He said Russia was focusing on "possible attempts by fighters to break out of Mosul" and "freely leave the city in the direction of Syria."

"We hope that our partners in the international coalition realize what freely roaming large IS gangs in the Middle East can lead to."

The long-awaited offensive against Iraq's second city began Monday with air and ground support from a U.S.-led coalition.

Iraqi forces on Wednesday prepared to retake Qaraqosh, the country's largest Christian town located about 15 kilometers (10 miles) southeast of Mosul, a key milestone in their progress toward the jihadists' main hub.

Officials have said the retaking of Mosul -- in Iraq's largest military operation in years -- could take weeks or months and warned that the hundreds of thousands of civilians still in the city could be used as human shields.

Gerasimov said that Russian military satellites, reconnaissance aircraft and drones were surveillance the Iraqi city.

"Despite all the ballyhoo on Western television, it must be understood that the operation as such has not yet begun," Gerasimov said.

Boko Haram overruns Nigerian military base in northeast

... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Islamic murderous Moslems have overrun a remote military camp in the northeast, leaving 13 soldiers maimed and an unknown number missing, the army said Wednesday.

Monday's attack comes a week after one faction of Boko Haram released 21 of more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped from northeastern Chibok town, and as Nigeria's government is negotiating for the release of another 83 of the girls kidnapped 2½ years ago.

The attack on Gashigar, on the border with Niger, is the third reported attack on the military after months of a lull during which the Islamic murderous Moslems hit soft civilian targets.

Army front man Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman called the attack a "temporary setback" committed by "remnants of Boko Haram" that forced the soldiers to retreat.

An operation is in progress to find the missing troopers and "clear the Boko Haram bully boyz at the general area," his statement said.

It is believed the attack is by a splinter from Boko Haram that calls itself the West Africa Province of the Islamic State

More Iraqi ISIS members arrive in Raqqa
ISIS security searching for that elusive NATO laser designator
[ARA News] Raqqa – The Islamic State (ISIS) on Wednesday tightened its security measures in the city of Raqqa, in northeastern Syria. According to eyewitnesses and activists, the extremist group has imposed a curfew in the city centre, installed new checkpoints and erected concrete road blocks.

Raqqa serves as a de facto capital of the self-declared Caliphate. Within the city, there has seen a week-long state of alert amongst ISIS jihadists.

“ISIS erected barriers between major districts of Raqqa city,” media activist Abdulkarim al-Yousef told ARA News in Raqqa. “New security checkpoints have been installed across the city, including near the al-Naeem Roundabout, al-Muhafaza Square, Saad Bin Muaz Mosque and al-Zedan Square.”

As previously mentioned, ISIS militants have fanned out, imposing a curfew in Raqqa. Dozens of people have reportedly been arrested at the newly established security checkpoints for violating the curfew.

While ISIS tightened its internal security, ISIS vehicles arrived in Raqqa, coming from Iraq. According to S Awad, an eyewitness, “More than 20 vehicles crossed the border and entered Raqqa on Tuesday at midnight, carrying ISIS militants and weapons.”

The Islamic State’s new redeployments and repression are likely related to the advances being made by US-backed Iraqi and Kurdish forces. On Monday, allied forces began the battle for Mosul and rapidly progressed towards the Caliphate’s Iraqi capital.

More than 4,000 Peshmerga soldiers were involved in the operation, fighting alongside Iraqi security forces. The Peshmerga soldiers liberated on Monday nine villages in the vicinity of Mosul, in an area measuring approximately 200 square kilometres.

The operation was launched from the towns of Gwer and Khazir and coincided with a simultaneous advance by the Iraqi Army who pushed north from Qayarrah.

Mosul-Raqqa Road
Hundreds of Islamic State (ISIS) militants have escaped from Iraq’s Nineveh Governorate, taking the Ba’aj road to Syria. Officials and military officers reported on Tuesday that civilians accompanied the jihadists as the fled west, ahead of advancing Kurdish and Iraqi columns.

Kurdish Peshmerga commander Qassim Shesho confirmed that a large number of ISIS jihadists have fled Mosul’s countryside through the Ba’aj road.

The Ba’aj road rarely appears on maps. It is an unofficial roadway created by ISIS, connecting Mosul city in northern Iraq to Raqqa city in central Syria.

On Saturday, dozens of ISIS jihadists arrived in the Syrian border town of Margada along with their families. The jihadists came from positions in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh Governorate, which have been evacuated.

Local sources told ARA News that more than 90 ISIS militant had made the journey in a staggered convoy. Eyewitnesses reported that the militants were accompanied by at least 25 civilian families, who were reportedly their relatives.

Also on Saturday, several ISIS military vehicles passed through al-Qa’im crossing on the Syrian-Iraqi border. The vehicles continued on to al-Bukamal city in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor Governorate. Local media activist Ahmed Hamwi told ARA News: “The vehicles crossed the border in the early morning on Saturday, carrying weapons and dozens of ISIS fighters.”

ISIS evacuates wimmin from Mosul
You would, too, if wimmin were a rare find
...or an investment resource.
(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – The Islamic State evacuated the so-called women of caliphate from Mosul by orders from the group’s leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Al Sumaria reported on Wednesday.

The Iraqi media outlet stated, “The ISIS evacuated what it called the women of caliphate from the city of Mosul to the Syrian ISIS-held cities including Raqqa, over the last two days,” pointing out that, “These women are the wives of the leaders of ISIS.”

“The women of caliphate were evacuated by orders from Baghdad to avoid being captured by the security forces or rebellious people of Mosul after liberating the city,” Al Sumaria revelead.

Yesterday, a group of rebellious youths in Mosul attacked an ISIS headquarters, killed two members of the group, burned their vehicle and raised the Iraqi flag before withdrawing from the area.

ISIS HQ immolated in Mosul

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – Iraqi media outlets reported on Wednesday, that mysterious fire devoured the empty headquarters of the Islamic State in the city of Mosul during the last 24 hours.

Al Sumaria News stated, “The fire started 24 hours ago inside the empty headquarters of the ISIS in the city of Mosul,” pointing out that, “These headquarters were immediately evacuated by the ISIS before the launch of the battle to liberate Mosul.”

“The perpetrators of the fire that increased in the previous hours are still unknown,” Al Sumaria added.

Earlier today, Nineveh Provincial Council announced that the ISIS militants detonated the buildings of the government (City Hall) and the General Directorate of Nationality in central Mosul using explosive barrels.

Amnasty: Iraqis face ISIS retribution attacks

LONDON: Paramilitary groups and government forces in Iraq have tortured, arbitrarily detained and executed thousands of civilians escaping areas controlled by the Daesh group, Amnesty International warned Tuesday.

The London-based rights group said the abuses, often revenge attacks directed at Sunnis suspected of being complicit with Daesh, must not be repeated as Iraqi forces advance on the terrorists’ stronghold in Mosul.

“After escaping the horrors of war and tyranny of Daesh, Sunni Arabs in Iraq are facing brutal revenge attacks at the hands of militias and government forces, and are being punished for crimes committed by the group,” said Philip Luther, Amnesty’s Middle East research director.

“Iraq is currently facing very real and deadly security threats from Daesh, but there can be no justification for extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances, torture or arbitrary detention.
“As the battle to retake Mosul gets underway, it is crucial that the Iraqi authorities take steps to ensure these appalling abuses do not happen again.”

The claims were made in a new report based on interviews with more than 470 former detainees, witnesses and relatives of civilians who have been killed, detained or disappeared, as well as officials and activists.

It cites an incident in May in which at least 12 men and four boys from the Jumaila tribe, who fled Al-Sijir, north of Fallujah, were executed after handing themselves over to men wearing military and federal police uniforms.

In June, militias seized 1,300 men and boys from the Mehemda tribe who fled Saqlawiya, northwest of Fallujah, and many were tortured before being handed over to local authorities. Survivors told Amnesty they were beaten and deprived of food and water. One said he was told it was “payback for the Speicher massacre.”

In 2014, up to 1,700 military recruits from Camp Speicher, near Tikrit, were captured and killed by Daesh and allied militants. In August, 36 men were hanged for the crime.

“Iraqi authorities, whose complicity and inaction in the face of widespread abuses have contributed to the current climate of impunity, must rein in militias and make clear that such serious violations will not be tolerated,” said Luther.

“Failure to do so will allow a vicious cycle of abuse, repression and injustice to continue and raises serious fears about the safety of civilians still in Mosul.”

Meanwhile, Britain’s defense minister Michael Fallon said Tuesday that Daesh is “failing” in Iraq, but warned that Iraqi forces would not find it easy to drive them out of Mosul. “This will not be a quick operation, and we can expect Daesh to fight hard to keep Mosul,” he told lawmakers on the second day of the Mosul offensive.
The Royal Air Force is providing intelligence-gathering and air support to Iraqi ground forces as part of a US-led coalition, while British military commanders have also provided support and training.

“We recognize, as do the Iraqis, that this will be the greatest challenge that their security forces have yet encountered, with significant humanitarian implications.”

Militias fighting among each other in Tripoli
Cairo – Forces fighting ISIS in Sirte and loyal to the government of national accord became involved in the struggle between the government and the illegitimate forces in Tripoli.

Of the first foreign states to comment on recent developments, France officially condemned the occupation of the Libyan High Council of State.

The ministry issued the statement on its website, which said: “France condemns the occupation by force of the Libyan High Council of State, the institution created by the inter-Libyan political agreement, the only legitimate framework and only possible way to restore peace and stability in Libya.”

The ministry also reaffirmed its full support for Prime Minister Fayez Serraj’s Government of National Accord and support the efforts of Special Representative of the U.N. Secretary-General Martin Kobler.

France called on all political forces in the country to unite under the authority of the Presidency Council in order to bring about national reconciliation, effectively combat terrorism and human trafficking and work toward the country’s reconstruction.

Meanwhile, al-Nabaa television station reported official spokesperson of Solid Structure operations Mohammed al-Ghosari saying that the forces will not allow anyone to tarnish the legitimate political agreement and its institutions.

Libya’s Rebels room stated that it supports the return of the former parliament and its government. The room asked its brigades belonging to the chief staff to be fully prepared and stand against traitors.

For their part, presidential security said in a statement issued that the only legitimate body is the illegitimate parliament of Tripoli.

Parliament of Tripoli condemned the attempt to kidnap MP Mohammed Morghem. The parliament asked executive bodies and justice system to make sure the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.

Last Friday, former authorities in Tripoli announced they had regained its powers after taking the state council in Tripoli without any clashes.

PM of former government Khalifah Ghuweil called upon all ministers and bodies to perform their missions and jobs as usual, especially those that affect the daily life of the citizens.

Meanwhile, media center of the Solid Structure Operations announced that the terrorist organization ISIS in Sirte is living its last day. The media center added that the presence of civilians in the city is delaying the complete liberation of the city.

The center mentioned that eight Eritrean women surrendered themselves after the Libyan Air Force dropped fliers asking them to. The women were slaves bought and sold among the leaders of the organization.

The center also briefly explained that the forces are advancing in District 3 of the city where there are few ISIS terrorists.

Chaos began in Libyan following the revolution that ousted the late Libyan leader Mouammar al-Ghaddafi, while Sarraj government that was formed in March faces forces that do not declare its legitimacy including the parliament in the east of Libya.

Despite reconciliation, Turkey presses on with trial of IDF officers
Oh, those clever, wily, byzantine Turks!
[IsraelTimes] Dropping case over 2010 raid on blockade-busting ship to Gazoo was key Israeli condition in deal to end years of frozen

The recent reconciliation deal between Israel and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
hit a bump on Wednesday, when a Turkish court refused to dismiss a case against members of the Israeli military, a key condition of the agreement.

Dismissing the legal charges against IDF officers connected to a 2010 naval raid on a Turkish flotilla trying to breach Israel’s blockade of the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-controlled Gazoo Strip was a key Israeli demand in the talks.

But, Channel 2 television reported, a court in Istanbul on Wednesday refused to dismiss the case and, instead postponed the hearing until December.

The raid, in which IDF commandos were attacked by activists on board the Mavi Marmara vessel, left 10 Turks dead and several Israeli soldiers maimed. Israel several weeks ago paid Turkey $20 million in compensation for the deadly raid, another central pillar of the deal.

The compensation was a key Turkish demand in the reconciliation deal, along with an apology by Israel and an easing of the blockade on the Gazoo Strip.

Israel made the apology three years ago, and while the blockade remains in place -- due to Israeli concerns that Hamas would import weapons and other materiel -- Ankara has been able to resume delivery of humanitarian aid to the Paleostinians through Israeli ports.

The two countries were expected to announce new ambassadors later this month. The exchange of diplomats, who were pulled out of both countries even though formal relations were never fully severed, is the last central element of the agreement signed in June to restore ties.
And then there are all those delicious trade deals and the oil pipeline President Erdogan wants so badly. Interesting times.

Iraq
Fears ISIS may use chemical weapons in battle for Mosul
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Allied forces fighting ISIS in djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
say they expect the turban group to use crude chemical weapons as it tries to defend Mosul from an assault to drive them out.

One official told Rooters that US forces have gathered ISIS shell fragments to test for chemical weapons because the group has been known to use mustard gas in the past.

US officials said in a previously undisclosed statement that it had confirmed the presence of a sulfur mustard agent on ISIS munitions on Oct. 5.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had been cornered by the banditti...
Senior Iraqi General Lt. Gen. Talib Shaghati told news hounds at a military base on Tuesday that up to 6,000 ISIS fighters are currently inside the city. He did not say how many of them are foreigners.

Sources say humanitarian agencies are bracing between 100,000 and 400,000 people fleeing the fighting in Mosul and making their way toward Syria, Iraq’s Kurdish-administrated region or the border with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
Kerem Kinik, head of the Turkish Red Islamic Thingy organization, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Wednesday that the "humanitarian aspect" of the Mosul operation had not been well thought out by the coalition forces.

From ARA News:
Allied forces fighting ISIS in Mosul say they expect the extremist group to use crude chemical weapons as it tries to defend Mosul from an assault to drive them out.

US officials said in a previously undisclosed statement that it had confirmed the presence of a sulfur mustard agent on ISIS munitions on Oct. 5.

Meanwhile, Senior Iraqi General Lt. Gen. Talib Shaghati told reporters at a military base on Tuesday that up to 6,000 ISIS fighters are currently inside the city. He did not say how many of them are foreigners.

One official told Reuters that US forces have gathered ISIS shell fragments to test for chemical weapons because the group has been known to use mustard gas in the past.

Informed sources told ARA News that after seizing chemical weapons stockpiles in Syria, ISIS militants moved some of the weapons to Mosul, in Iraq’s northwestern Nineveh Governorate.

Raafat al-Zarari, the head of the Nineveh Media Centre, said: “ISIS has brought several shipments of chemical weapons, particularly chlorine and mustard agents, to Mosul earlier this week.”

If the reports are accurate, they would impede the operation to retake Mosul, planned by the Kurdish Peshmerga, the Iraqi Army and the US-led coalition. The operation is expected to start within weeks.

“We may face a more complex situation in the battle for Mosul than expected,” a Kurdish Peshmerga official told ARA News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“We are aware of ISIS moves in Mosul. The group has recently changed its main positions inside the city and installed new checkpoints in Mosul’s suburbs. The terrorist group is willing to put all of its strength in the upcoming battle for Mosul,” the Kurdish officer said. “Using chemical agents during the fight is highly possible, and we’ll make our preparations for such a scenario.”

Fighting, airstrikes intensify in Sirte
Tripoli, 18 October 2016:

There has been a marked ramp in air strikes on Sirte. In just three days US aircraft have struck 96 targets in the course of 36 sorties against IS positions. The extent of the devastation on buildings in the town’s Third District is clear from images posted online by Bunyan Marsous.

The majority of the strikes was against terrorist “fighting positions” said US Africa Command but one targeted an IS command centre and another successfully destroyed a suicide bomber’s vehicle before it could reach BM lines.

A Reuters journalist advancing with forward forces reported they came across tunnels, booby traps and an abandoned field hospital after they had overrun the Campo area. There were also badly charred bodies of IS members killed in the air strikes. On social media a BM fighter posted pictures of a pickup truck into the back of which at least eight dead terrorists had been thrown without ceremony.

US aircraft have not only been dropping bombs guided by foreign specialists on the ground. Last week there were at least two drops of leaflets urging IS forces to surrender and give themselves the chance to see their children grow up. It appears the propaganda may have influenced eight Eritrean women to cross over to BM lines on Sunday. Pictures of their frightened, even traumatised faces, were published by the BM media office. It is not clear what has since become of the eight.

The Libya Red Crescent has publicised its operation to bring food and shelter to Sirte citizens who had been caught up in the battles. Footage shows the damage caused by fighting to a large number of properties, which had also often been looted. There was the further hazard of abandoned shells and booby traps. One local resident explains that he and his neighbours have been left with nothing, no power, no cooking gas, no food, no water and no fuel.

Red Crescent trucks have begun running into the town with emergency food packs and blankets .
