Turkey blackmails Europe with its own instability: Spengler
This is the sort of thing that happens in Mel Brooks movies, but not‐at least until now‐in geopolitics: Turkey’s claim upon the support of Western Europe comes from its own propensity to collapse. If it does so, the Europeans fear, the refugee stream that inundated Europe during 2015 will acquire another zero. That is why West Germany is willing to humiliate itself in order to prop up the regime of Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Europe is paying Erdogan to stop the flow of refugees, which Erdogan has threatened to accelerate if his demands are not met. Erdogan’s negotiating stance recalls Brooks’ 1974 comedy "Blazing Saddles," where a black sheriff turns back a lynch mob by putting a gun to his own head and threatening to pull the trigger.

#2  Why dont they continuously run R&D, and take the finished products to create an aircraft they know will work from the beginning? Do that every 5 years or so. Integration becomes much simpler, and the research cost of the aircraft is separated from the actual cost of the airframe and equipment. Its somewhat dishonest to sink the cost of R&D that will be ongoing anyway against the cost of additional aircraft. The difference now between buying X amount of F-22 and X+20 does not require any R&D, just production. So why not account for them that way?

For instance, the B-2 is not a billion dollar aircraft. Its a couple hundred million in equipment and the rest in research and development that can be applied to other systems, and also used as a basis for further R&D.

What I especially don't like about this plane is that it is taking forever. By the time we get the dam*ed thing to work better than a Sopwith Camel, it will be obsolete. In fact, maybe we should make it so the canopy slides back so they can shoot a pistol at opposing planes and throw bombs out of the cockpit.

Question put to me: Why not vote for Bernie? His socialism will destroy washington even faster than Trumps efforts. The real effects of Socialism will make people hate DC much more than anything Trump the Crony or Cruz the Crazy could do, starting with the $1000 a month more in taxes. This would hasten the defeat of big government as an ideology.

Economy
The dying dream of globalization
[Wash Times] The Republican Party is in trouble, or so goes the conventional wisdom. Certainly, the party is passing through a painful and difficult transition. But in the broad context of history, it’s a necessary transition -- from the politics of old reflecting a world that no longer exists to a new brand of politics reflecting the world as it is. One reason this election season is so raucous and unpredictable is that the voters know this transition is necessary but can’t seem to get the attention of the political elites.

But in the broad context of history, the Democratic Party is in far worse shape than the Republicans. Declining even to try addressing the politics of today, it’s stuck in yesterday, where no political party can survive.

The biggest difference between the two parties is Donald Trump. Conventional wisdom proclaims this difference disastrous for the Republican Party, but in the long term it will disadvantage the Democrats far more. Consider the big national and global developments of our time.

One is the disintegration of "globalization" -- the idea that the free exchange of money, goods, ideas and peoples across national borders would produce a grand, new era of prosperity and harmony. Tom Friedman’s Lexus wins, and we all win. The olive tree dies, and who cares? We’ll be too rich and contented to notice.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
The Cultural Lobotomy, Theocracy, or the Establishment Clause, you decide
[JP] As we noted, the Pesach Haggadah begins by emphasizing that a Jew can only be considered free when he or she lives in the Land of Israel, as it says: "This year, we are here; next year, in the Land of Israel. This year, we are slaves; next year, free people."

Many Jews in the Diaspora don't understand the meaning of this statement. They think it is talking about some other time and place in history, and not about today. For example, take all of the Jews living in America - they think that they are already free. But as we pointed out in our previous article, they are enslaved in the foreign, gentile culture which surrounds them. This cultural enslavement and identification with the foreign country they live in is so deeply ingrained in their psyches, it is almost like a cerebral lobotomy.

In order to illustrate this widespread amnesia, allow me to give a few examples of the difference between a Jew who grows up in Israel and his counterpart who grows up in America:

The Jewish youth who grows up in Israel learns Hebrew in school, while the Jewish youth who grows up in America learns English. Interestingly, Rashi teaches that if parent doesn’t speak to his child in Hebrew, it is "as if he buries the child" (Devarim, 11:19.)

The Jewish youth who grows up in Israel learns about the history of the Jewish People and Israel, while the Jewish youth who grows up in America learns about the history of America.

The Jewish youth who grows up in Israel learns that Abraham was the founding father of his nation, while the Jewish youth who grows up in America learns that George Washington was the founding father of his nation.

For the Jewish youth who grows up in Israel, the school year follows the Jewish calendar and its Jewish holidays, while for the Jewish youth who grows up in America, the school years follows the American calendar and America's gentile holidays.

The Jewish youth who grows up in Israel sings the "HaTikvah" at the conclusion of important school and national events, while the Jewish youth who grows up in America sings "The Star Spangled Banner."

When a Jewish youth in Israel watches the news on TV it's all about Israel, while when a Jewish youth in America watches the news it's all about America.

When a Jewish youth in Israel celebrates the Jewish holidays, he or she celebrates them in the Holy Land where the holidays are meant to be observed, while when a Jewish youth in America celebrates the Jewish holidays, he or she celebrates them in an impure and gentile land.

Kerry and Heinz Family Have Millions Invested In Offshore Tax Havens
[Daily Caller] Secretary of State John Kerry and his wife Teresa Heinz have invested millions of U.S. dollars through family trusts in at least 11 offshore tax havens, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation's Investigative Group.

The revelation comes on the heels of the release of the Panama Papers, a treasure trove of 11.5 million legal and financial records documenting how some of the world’s richest and most powerful people have used offshore bank accounts to conceal their wealth and avoid taxes.

Since the release of the papers, no American politician has been identified as using the secretive offshore accounts.

But a DCNF investigation has confirmed that the former Massachusetts Democratic senator and his billionaire wife, using an elaborate set of Heinz family trusts, have invested "more than $1 million" each into 11 separate offshore accounts -- mainly hedge funds in the Cayman Islands.

#3  They would be foolish not to.

One of the arguments against steeply progressive tax rates is that it disproportionately affects people trying to climb the ladder. People who are used to having money know how to manage it and their tax burden. Only people who are new to making big money pay the highest tax rates.

#7  Congress has had DECADES to simplify and reform the Federal tax code, and they have not done squat. They cannot live within their budget. They know how to spend. They know how to game the system. They take no responsibilities, and they do not utilize their powers to fulfill their responsibilities.

In short, they take in huge amounts of revenue, and give little value in return.

#8  So for everyone bashing him and her family you need to take a hard look in the mirror. The USG is throwing money away. That money is tax dollars taken from you. At this rate out government will fail. The money looses it values and our government is in line historically to fall. If you were worth billions burying enough money for your extended family to survive is good commons sense. They are worth billions and they stashed 11 million? Chump change. A lot less than I would have done. Imagine the exodus if Bernie looks to beat Hillary. Everyone will divest their cash into shelters because he already said he would come for it.

No tax shelters, few accountants, very few lawyers, very few IRS agents needed.

And audit the fed.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Ralph Peters: Obama dismisses Putin
h/t Instapundit
To pinched-nostril commentators in the West, Vladimir Putin, Czar of all the Russias, is a boorish clown destined for ultimate failure. To me, he's a genius.

I don't like the guy one bit. But I have to respect his abilities.

The last time a minor power played its hand as well as Putin has played Russia's was in 1203. Venice hijacked the Fourth Crusade to sack Christian Constantinople, leaving Venice wealthy and empowered. It also wrecked Europe's bulwark against Islam, leading to seven centuries of jihad (resuming now, after a brief timeout).

Putin's power plays won't end well for Europe, either. But, like medieval Venice, he's good at what he does.
Personally, I believe that the Church of Transnational Progressivism---centered in EU, is the biggest danger to humankind ever. Especially after it took over USA and turned NATO into its arm militant.
...Of course, the DC establishment's last-ditch defense of the "wisdom" of our feckless response to Putin is to conjure the spirits of economic disaster, the insistence that, while Putin's a pain, the Russian economy's tanking and he won't be able to sustain his mischief much longer.

Well, Putin's economy took a body blow, thanks largely to the drop in oil prices and partly because of (now wobbling) Western sanctions. But the ruble and Russia's foreign reserves have stabilized. Import substitution is progressing. The oil price is inching back up.

Russians are much better off financially than they were before Putin appeared, and -- most important of all -- Russians expect life to stink. Deprivations that would shock Americans don't even register. And Putin's stage management of the economic downturn has been masterful. His popularity rating remains higher than Hillary Clinton's and Donald Trump's combined.

Unlike our leaders, Putin knows his people. He came from the streets, not from Harvard. And Russians have, for centuries, cherished the "myth of the good czar," expressed, in the face of perfidy and corruption, by the peasant's sigh of, "If the czar only knew . . ."

Putin put that myth on TV and online. His four-hour "audiences" are brilliant theater. He takes calls and e-mails complaining of Russia's immemorial problems: bad roads here, corrupt bosses there, unpaid wages in a cannery. With barely a hand wave, the people's woes go away.

Our elites spent the last decade mocking Putin. He spent those years enriching his country, reviving its military, expanding its territory -- and humiliating the United States of America.
Personally, given the quarter-century experience of monopolar world behind us, I prefer a bi-polar world. However, the question must be asked: "Can restored Russia cause USA to take it's collective head out of its collective ass?" Judging by the ongoing elections, the answer is not optimistic.

Obama sends more Special Forces to Syria to help battle Islamic State
[IN.REUTERS] President Barack Obama
I mean, I do think at a certain point you've made enough money...
announced on Monday the biggest expansion of U.S. ground troops in Syria since its civil war began, but the move was unlikely to mollify Arab allies angry over Washington's cautious approach to the conflict.
Can't have the entire thing fall apart on Champ's watch. We'll apply just enough pressure to get us thru January.
The deployment of up to 250 Special Forces soldiers increases U.S. forces in Syria roughly six-fold and is aimed at helping militia fighters who have clawed back territory from Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. in a string of victories.

Defense experts said giving more fighters on the ground access to U.S. close air support could shift the momentum in Syria. But a senior member of the Saudi royal family who asked not to be identified dismissed the decision as "window dressing."

In announcing the deployment, Obama emphasized the importance of sustaining the gains made in the fight against Islamic State, although he cautioned that the U.S. forces would not be spearheading the battle.

"They're not going to be leading the fight on the ground, but they will be essential in providing the training and assisting local forces as they continue to drive ISIS back," he said in a speech in the German city of Hanover, using an acronym for Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIS.

Obama was speaking on the last stop of a foreign tour that has taken him to Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

#1  Islam is killing itself. The century is only 16 years in and we have ...is it another whole 84 more years to go until the close of this century?

And Islam will be busy busy busy killing Moslems generally, and a few here and there in other places, but the majority of people Moslems DO kill are other Moslems? What IS the total of all the wars in the world right now concerning Moslems being involved ? Someone should notice and count the statistical number of suicides Islam pursues avidly, one might even say with Religious ZEAL.
Moslems apparently LIKE to kill OTHER Moslems...even more than anyone else.

Attrition-ally speaking at some point over the coming decades Moslems are going to run out of other Moslems TO kill. Or am I wrong. Suicide for Islam? All Islam seems to be doing is thrashing around while it.... dies. Do you suppose it is because deep down Islam realizes it IS dying and wants to die because it realizes it is a religion with no place to really GO anymore ...except into the grave? Islamist militants behead Canadian man in Philippines
[Chicago Tribune] A severed head was left Monday on a street in the southern Philippines, authorities said, five hours after a ransom deadline set by Islamist Death Eaters holding Western hostages and others. Canada's prime minister identified the victim as a 68-year-old Canadian.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said John Ridsdel of Calgary, Alberta, was killed in a "cold-blooded murder" by the hard boys. Trudeau said Canada would work with the Philippine government and international partners to bring those responsible to justice.

The beheading underscored fears of widening violence by Islamist guerrillas, known as the Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
group, as it forges possible allegiances with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
It also raised fears of other execution-style killings among those held. Abu Sayyaf has taken hostages for decades - and killed captives - as part of a rebellion it has claimed to be waging on behalf of the Muslim minority in Asia's only predominantly Roman Catholic nation. The Philippine government has denounced the Abu Sayyaf group as a terrorist organization that also operates more like a criminal gang, engaging in kidnapping for ransom, extortion and drug trafficking, among other crimes.

#1  They got their start a little earlier than the 90's. But a great outline. The leaders were mujaheddin fighters recruited to fight the soviets. When they returned they formed first the MNLF then the MILF and then the Abu sayyaff. The plan for the islamics in Mindanao was for the MNLF to fight and the reach a peace agreement, then a faction will break away, the MILF, and continue the violence. Once the MILF reach a peace agreement the Abu Sayyaff (ASG) will kick in and continue the cycle. The ASG is hard core terrorist/criminal folks. They are hard to control as a group. The MNLF try and the soddies control through funding and leadership. But every once in a while they run on their own. I'm not sure if this was a directed beheading or the ASG running on their own. In any event the next course of action is for the Canadians to hunt and kill every ASG member that partisapated in the kidnapping.

Artillery fire hits Iraq town despite ceasefire: officials
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Artillery fire killed a civilian on Monday despite a ceasefire
...the invariable sign that someone decided the hudna is over...
in a flashpoint northern Iraqi town that has been hit by deadly fighting between Kurdish and Turkmen forces, officials said.

Fighting broke out at the weekend in Tuz Khurmatu between the autonomous Kurdish region’s peshmerga forces and Turkmen members of the Hashed al-Shaabi militia umbrella organization for the second time in six months.

"Clashes were renewed sporadically in Tuz, but it was not like yesterday," said Mohammed Koja, the deputy governor of Salaheddin province where the town is located.

Koja said that mortar rounds and rocket fire had killed one person and maimed four.

A police colonel confirmed the toll but it was unclear which side killed the civilian.

The initial festivities between Turkmen and Kurdish forces began at around midnight Saturday and continued into Sunday.

Hadi al-Ameri, the commander of the Badr militia, announced at a presser on Sunday afternoon that a ceasefire deal had been reached.

But a witness in the town said gunfire and periodic kabooms could still be heard.

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered the Joint Operations Command to take "all necessary measures" to end the festivities, a statement from his office said.

And he urged the leaders of the forces involved to "focus efforts against the common terrorist enemy represented by the ISIS gangs," the statement said, using an Arabic acronym for ISIS.

Both the peshmerga and the Turkmen fighters are battling ISIS, which overran large areas north and west of Baghdad in 2014.

But Kurdish forces and the Hashed al-Shaabi are vying for influence in some areas, a contest that has led to violence in Tuz Khurmatu.

The latest fighting came after unrest in Tuz Khurmatu last November that began as a dispute at a checkpoint escalated into festivities inside the town.

Dozens of homes were burned, and the town has been split between Kurdish and Turkmen areas, with neighborhood minority residents moving back across the ethnic divide.

Baghdad turned to the Hashed al-Shaabi, which is dominated by Iran-backed Shiite militias, to help stem the hard boys’ 2014 advance and later push them back.

Kurdish forces also battled the faceless myrmidons in the north, but have largely fought independently of federal troops.

"We are ready to withdraw from Tuz if they withdraw"

(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Monday the leader in the paramilitary Peshmerga force Hassan Bahran revealed, that the Kurdish forces are ready to withdraw from Tuz Khurmatu in Salahuddin Province if the forces of al-Hashd al-Turkmani militia withdrew from the district.

Bahran said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The Peshmerga forces and al-Hashd al-Turkmani have to withdraw from the district, and a federal military force should come to impose security [procedures] in Tuz District,” pointing out that, “The Peshmerga forces are ready to withdraw from the district if al-Hashd al-Turkmani withdrew.”

Bahran also called the Peshmerga forces and al-Hashd al-Turkmani to carry out military operations against ISIS and not against each other, while asked them to liberate al-Bashir area from ISIS militants.

Egyptian police fire tear gas, birdshot at Cairo protesters
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Police fired tear gas and birdshot on Monday to disperse hundreds of demonstrators calling on President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi to step down over his government’s decision to surrender control over two strategic Red Sea islands to Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
The violence in Mesaha square in Cairo’s Dokki district took place as thousands of police and soldiers were deployed Monday across the Egyptian capital ahead of the planned demonstrations over the islands, a thorny issue which has already sparked the largest protests since el-Sissi assumed power nearly two years ago.

Following the arrest of dozens of activists and journalists in recent days, riot police backed by armored vehicles on Monday took up positions in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, the epicenter of Egypt’s 2011 uprising, They also deployed on the ring road, downtown and at a square where hundreds of Islamist protesters were killed when security forces broke up their sit-in in August 2013.

Many of the protest organizers’ gathering points were sealed off by police, including the doctors’ and journalists’ unions in central Cairo. Pedestrians near the Press Syndicate were stopped by police, who asked for IDs and about their destination before turning many of them away. Minivans loaded with plainclothes coppers were also deployed in the likely flashpoints.

The sheer number of coppers on the streets and fear of arrest prevented protesters from gathering, forcing them to trickle out from designated gathering points to assemble elsewhere. Fearing another round of unrest after years of turmoil, many city residents and shopkeepers were hostile toward the protesters on Monday.

However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
a group of some 500 protesters led by prominent activists managed to gather at the mostly residential Mesaha square. Their chants of "leave, leave" directed at el-Sissi, echoed across the square, along with "bread, freedom, the islands are Egyptian." Police in full riot gear arrived 10 minutes later and immediately fired tear gas and birshot. The protesters fled and later regrouped in smaller groups at nearby streets.

From their apartments’ balconies, the square’s pro-el-Sissi residents shouted "traitors" at the protesters below and pelted them with water.

Later, plainclothes coppers were seen by the AP news hound kicking and slapping protesters they incarcerated
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
. The AP news hound also saw truckloads of protesters in police custody.

"Giving up our land is the final straw," said one protester, 16-year-old Youssef el-Agouza. "He (el-Sissi) has crossed all lines."

The military said in a video released late Sunday that troops were deployed to protect "vital and important installations" and deal with anyone who tries to "harm the people’s interests or attempt to ruin their happiness" on Sinai Liberation Day, a national holiday marking the completion of Israel’s withdrawal from the peninsula in 1982.

Sanders: US has lowest voter turnout of any major country
[Iran Press TV] US Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
says the sad reality in American society is that "poor people don’t vote" and that’s the reason he has lost the primary elections in 17 states with high income inequality.

Sanders also decried the low voter turnout in US elections during an interview filmed Saturday in Baltimore and aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Hillary Clinton
... sometimes described as the Smartest Woman in the World and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Dean Rusk ...
has won the primaries in 17 out of the 25 states with the highest income inequality, "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd told the Vermont senator.

"Because poor people don’t vote," sanders replied. "I mean, that’s just a fact; that’s a sad reality of American society and that’s what we have to transform."
...poor people, young people, busy people who trust that it doesn't matter all that much who thinks they're running the country... That's so everywhere voting isn't mandatory.
"We have one ‐ as you know ‐ one of the lowest voter turnouts of any major country on Earth," Sanders stated. "In America today ‐ in the last election in 2014, 80 percent of poor people did not vote."
The way he said that makes it sound like that's another "fact" the honourable senator invented out of thin air.
Sanders has based his campaign on a promise to lessen the vast wealth and income inequality in the US, and he has received support from a record number of grassroots donors whose small contributions have consistently added up to monthly fundraising totals that dwarf those of Clinton.

Trump calls rivals Cruz, Kasich 'pathetic' for teaming up
[Iran Press TV] US Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has censured the newly-formed alliance between rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich, calling them "pathetic."

Cruz and Kasich, who are facing a potential wipeout in the national presidential nominating contests on Tuesday, teamed up against Trump, provoking a barrage of new attacks from the business mogul.

"It shows how weak they are. It shows how pathetic they are," Trump told a cheering crowd in Warwick, Rhode Island, on Monday.

Virginia Governor Creates 200,000 New Hildebeest Voters
[LI] WASHINGTON -- Gov. Terry McAuliffe of Virginia used his executive power on Friday to restore voting rights to more than 200,000 convicted felons, circumventing the Republican-run legislature. The action effectively overturns a Civil War-era provision in the state’s Constitution aimed, he said, at disenfranchising African-Americans.

The sweeping order, in a swing state that could play a role in deciding the November presidential election, will enable all felons who have served their prison time and finished parole or probation to register to vote. Most are African-Americans, a core constituency of Democrats, Mr. McAuliffe’s political party.

Amid intensifying national attention over harsh sentencing policies that have disproportionately affected African-Americans, governors and legislatures around the nation have been debating -- and often fighting over -- moves to restore voting rights for convicted felons. Virginia imposes especially harsh restrictions, barring felons from voting for life.

In Kentucky, Gov. Matt Bevin, a newly elected Republican, recently overturned an order enacted by his Democratic predecessor that was similar to the one Mr. McAuliffe signed Friday. In Maryland, Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, vetoed a measure to restore voting rights to convicted felons, but Democrats in the state legislature overrode him in February and an estimated 44,000 former prisoners who are on probation can now register to vote.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Kurds under fire in Aleppo
[ARA News] ALEPPO – Subsequent to the heavy shelling led by Islamist rebels on the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud in Syria’s northern city of Aleppo, a relative calm prevailed in the area before the regime’s air force renewed airstrikes on the neighborhood and kill dozens of civilians, local sources reported on Monday. Moreover, people in the besieged Kurdish neighborhood suffer severe shortage of basic needs and medicine.

Islamists Punish Civilians
The Kurds in Sheikh Maqsoud suffer from the absence of many services as a result of the blockade imposed by Islamist rebel groups on their district, mainly by the Nusra Front (al-Qaeda branch in Syria).

Speaking to ARA News, Luqman Ismail, one of the stranded citizens in Sheikh Maqsoud, said that electricity outage continues for nearly three years because of the barbaric bombardment led by Islamist rebels on the main network of power outside the district.

“These groups are apparently punishing the people of Sheikh Maqsoud for their support to the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), who are engaged in fighting with Islamist rebels around the city of Aleppo,” he reported.

“People now depended on power generators that work only 4-5 hours per day. We also suffer from the lack of fuel to run these generators,” Ismail added.

Bombing Water Wells
Sabah Alo, a 30-yrear-old woman from the Kurdish district, told ARA News that the water station had been under control of Islamists for a more than a year. “That’s why we suffer from water scarcity in the area.”

“Also, there were two water wells on the outskirts of the neighborhood but one of them was targeted by terrorists and completely destroyed,” she said.

“Since water’s shortage, people resorted to the movable tankers to secure clean water for drinking,” Alo told ARA News.

Diseases Spread Among Civilians
With the approaching of summer and inability of removing the garbage out of the neighborhood, diseases spread among civilians as insects and rats filled in the place. People have appealed to the humanitarian organizations to help them receive pesticides and medicines.

Speaking to ARA News in Sheikh Maqsoud, Laila Hamo, a Kurdish citizen, said that flies, mosquitoes and cockroaches as well as mice and rats fill the district. “Due to the blockade imposed by these barbaric groups [Islamist rebels], there is no route leading to the landfill to throw the garbage,” she said.

Hamo pointed out that various kinds of diseases spread among civilians, including skin diseases, and bacteria received from the water tankers, appealing to the United Nations and relief organizations to hastily intervene and save people’s lives.

On April 17, Syrian rebel groups launched indiscriminate attacks on the Kurdish neighborhood in Aleppo, killing at least 18 civilians, including seven children, five women and injured 68, Kurdish officials told Human Rights Watch.

“Islamist rebels think that they could easily take control of the Kurdish neighborhood of Sheikh Maqsoud; they must know that the Kurds do not trust the majority of Syrian opposition forces,” Khorshid Abdi, Kurdish journalist based in Aleppo, told ARA News.

“The Human Rights Watch and UN should bear their responsibility regarding Islamists-led attacks on the Kurdish residential neighborhoods in Aleppo,” he said. “Islamists must lift the siege imposed on our people in order to receive humanitarian aid, especially food and medicine.”

“What the barbaric Islamists have done to Kurds in these five years has exceeded the regime’s suppression against them over four-decades,” he concluded.

[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Hezbollah mujahidin and the Syrian army soldiers repelled an infiltration attempt carried out by the gunnies in Jarajir barrens in Qalamoun in Damascus countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon the murderous Moslems.

The Islamic Resistance fighters and the Syrian military also targeted the gunnies at Zamrani and Qosaira crossings to ban them from backing the infiltrating groups.

The Syrian army units, backed by air force, continued cashing terrorist organizations across the country, targeting their vehicles and dens.

four Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, suspects in Hebron Monday morning, hours before thousands of Israelis, including a number of far-right ministers, were slated to visit the flashpoint West Bank city for a ceremony.

The raids took place in Hebron’s Abu Sneineh neighborhood and in the nearby village of Dhahriyah, the IDF said. The suspects were handed over to security officials for questioning.

The IDF said it conducted the West Bank sweep in anticipation of the thousands of Jewish worshipers and visitors to Hebron’s Tomb of the Patriarchs -- a site revered by Jews and Muslims as the burial place of Abraham -- during the week-long Jewish festival.

Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
a military chief of the Taliban group in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan.

According to the security authorities, the military chief, Qari Salim, was arrested during a special night raid.

Qari Salim was a key leader of the Taliban group who played a vital role in the collapse of Kunduz city last year.

The officials further added it took at least a week for the Afghan special forces to search and arrest Qari Salim.

At least two security guards of Qari Salim have also been arrested by the security forces during the operation.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as the Taliban group launched a major offensive to take control of key areas of Kunduz province, inclduing the strategic Kunduz city.

The Talibs seized the control of the city late in mid-2015 after launched coordinated attacks on the city.

Iraq
DNA tools needed to identify Yazidis slaughtered by ISIS: Iraqi lawmaker
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq’s only female Yazidi politician has said that documentation of ISIS’ "genocide" against her own people is continuing, but far more needs to be done.

Vian Dakhil, who is known for her fervent plea over the plight of the Yazidi minority group whom she belongs to, said that efforts to identify bodies found in more than 20 mass graves have been hampered for a simple reason: there is no DNA testing equipment in Iraq’s northern autonomous Kurdish region.

The killing of between 2,000 to 5,000 men in a northern town known for its Yazidi population after a surprise attack by ISIS turbans in August 2014 has now become known as a Sinjar massacre. While the men were killed, thousands of women and kiddies were taken and enslaved by ISIS. Other fled to the nearby Mount Sinjar.

"We do not have specialized equipment and medical material specialized to test DNA of the corpses found in the mass graves," said Dakhil. The politician is a member of the Baghdad parliament’s Kurdistan Alliance.

"There needs to be DNA testing to prove the identity of these victims," she said.

Due to the need, the parliamentarian said that Kurdistan’s regional government in Erbil has asked Iraq’s health ministry for help.

While the Baghdad ministry "expressed their willingness," she said, actions still fall short.

Iraq’s capital has recently witnessed large protests urging the prime minister to push forward with reforms to tackle corruption.

"It seems they are busy with many other things."

Taliban deputy shadow district chief killed in Takhar province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The shadow deputy district chief of the Taliban group for Khwajah Bahauddin was killed during a shootout in northeastern Takhar province.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Mullah Hassan who was also famous as Abu Bakr was appointed as the deputy district chief by the Taliban group for Khwajah Bahauddin.

A statement by MoI said Mullah Hassan was killed along with another prominent Taliban leader during shootout with the police forces.

According to MoI, Mullah Hassan was involved in major terrorist attacks in Takhar province, specifically in attacks on security posts.

MoI also added that the security personnel and local residents did not suffer any casualties during the shootout.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.

Takhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in northeastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.

The volatile Kunduz is bordering Takhar province in the west where the Talibs recently launched a major offensive which was repulsed by the security forces.

ISIS claims responsibility for a car bomb blast in Damascus
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] ISIS Death Eaters grabbed credit for detonating a car laden with explosives near a Syrian army checkpoint in the capital on Monday, a news agency close to the Death Eaters said.

State media earlier reported at least five were killed and 20 injured when a boom-mobile went kaboom! near a Syrian army checkpoint in the Sayeda Zeinab area, south of Damascus.

Amaq news agency affiliated to the Death Eaters did not give details beyond saying the group was responsible for the bombing, the third such bombing attack this year.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the corpse count at eight. It had no immediate word on whether there were civilians among the dead.

The shrine contains the grave of Zeinab, a venerated granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammad, and is known for its glistening golden onion-shaped dome.

An AFP correspondent said he heard ambulance sirens wailing through the streets of Damascus on their way to Sayyida Zeinab.
The area around the shrine, which is heavily secured with regime checkpoints hundreds of meters away to prevent vehicles from approaching, has been hit by ISIS several times this year.

A string of ISIS bombings near the shrine in February left 134 people dead, most of them civilians, according to the Observatory.

And in January, another attack claimed by ISIS killed 70 people.

Lebanese Shiite bully boy group Hezbollah cited the threat to Sayyida Zeinab as a principal reason for its intervention in the civil war on the side of Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

Suicide bomber kills seven in Baghdad market: officials
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A jacket wallah detonated explosives in a Baghdad market on Monday, killing at least seven people, Iraqi security and medical officials said.

The blast in the Baghdad Jadida area of the capital’s east also maimed at least 30 people, they said.

Brigadier General Saad Maan said the suicide kaboom hit a perfume shop in the area, while other officials only said that it targeted a market.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but ISIS frequently carries out suicide kabooms in Iraq.

ISIS overran large areas north and west of Baghdad in 2014, although Iraqi forces have since regained significant ground from the murderous Moslems.

The forces of Evil still control a large part of western Iraq, and they are able to carry out frequent bombings in government-held areas.

Obama, European leaders urge Syria parties to respect truce
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] President Barack Obama
Republicans can come along for the ride, but they've got to sit in the back...
and the leaders of Germany, Italia, Britannia and La Belle France on Monday called on parties in the Syrian war to respect an agreement to cease hostilities and make peace talks work, the White House said in a statement.

"They called on all parties to respect the cessation, ensure humanitarian access, and contribute to the success of the Geneva talks on political transition," the White House said after the meeting of the leaders in Hanover, Germany.

"They also called on those with influence on the parties to the conflict to press them to refrain from any actions that put the cessation and political talks at risk," it said.

The leaders also agreed on the "strong and urgent need" to help Libya grow its economy and build up the capacity of its security sector to counter the threat posed by ISIS, the statement said.

Saudi Arabia announces ‘Vision 2030’
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Soddy Arabia

The vision is set to prepare the kingdom for an era in which it does not rely heavily on oil, as well as including a highly-anticipated National Transformation Plan (NTP).

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is spearheading the roadmap, has previously said that NTP will include asset sales, tax increases, spending cuts, changes to the way the state manages its financial reserves, an efficiency drive, and a much bigger role for the private sector.

Bangladesh
Leading gay rights activist hacked to death in Bangladesh
[WASHINGTONPOST] Police in Bangladesh say unknown assailants brutally killed two men, one of whom was a gay rights activist associated with the country's first LGBT magazine.
I notice nobody's hacking leading Islamists to death. Until that starts happening, this sort of thing wll continue to accelerate.
That victim was identified as Xulhaz Mannan, a U.S. Agency for International Development employee who also served as an editor for the publication Roopbaan, according to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The second victim was identified as Tanay Mojumdar. The attack occurred Monday in Mannan's second-floor apartment in Dhaka. Police said the two men were hacked to death.

News reports described Mojumdar as a close friend of Mannan's. A professional contact, who asked to have her name withheld, told The Washington Post that Mojumdar was a "community organizer who conducted leadership programs."

In a statement, Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, the U.S. ambassador to Bangladesh, said she was "devastated" by the killings.

"Xulhaz was more than a colleague to those of us fortunate to work with him at the U.S. Embassy," the statement said. "He was a dear friend. Our prayers are with Xulhaz, the other victim, and those injured in the attack. We abhor this senseless act of violence and urge the Government of Bangladesh in the strongest terms to apprehend the criminals behind these murders."

Coach Bobby Knight To Appear At Trump Rally
[Daily Caller] As the focus of the 2016 race turns to the Hoosier State, former Indiana Basketball coach Bobby Knight will appear with Donald Trump for a campaign rally in Indianapolis this week.
Bringing in Bobby Knight was a stroke of genius. Will Larry Bird be next? Trump will likely sweep Indiana.
The campaign said Monday that Trump "will be joined by special guest, the legendary coach, Bobby Knight" during a 6 P.M. event at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Wednesday.

There has been speculation that an endorsement from the famous chair-throwing coach would occur. In September, a New York Times Magazine reporter was in Trump’s office and overheard the businessman on the phone with Trump. "No one has accomplished more than Mr. Trump has," the coach said after Trump told him a reporter was listening.

Over the weekend, Trump teased an endorsement during a rally in Connecticut, saying: "By the way, would I like to get Coach Bobby Knight, who is a great coach, his endorsement. Tough, strong, smart. I would like to get that for Indiana, I’ll tell you what. To me, that would be a great endorsement."

And he's a celebrity now - he last won something meaningful in indiana back in 1993.

Pakistan Continues Missile Attack On Nangarhar
Nangarhar provincial officials on Monday raised concerns over Pakistan's cross-border shelling, which has been ongoing for two days.

Security officials from the 201st Selab Military Corps said that Afghan security forces are waiting for central government to give orders for them to respond to the missile attacks.

Provincial council and civil society members have called on government to act.

"Our request from government and NATO is to help forces respond to Pakistan," said Zabiullah Zamari, a provincial council member.

"We have witnessed such shelling in the past as well and efforts have been made to undermine Afghanistan's national sovereignty," said Arshad Raghand, a civil society member.

Security officials in Nangarhar said that in the past two days, sporadic battles have occurred between Afghan forces and Pakistan military.

Nangarhar provincial governor's spokesman Attaullah Khogyani confirmed the reports and said security forces are waiting for orders from government on how to respond to the missile attacks.

"Whatever is needed we've done with the guidance of the central government and I can't necessarily share everything with the media," Khogyani said.

This latest round of alleged attacks has reportedly led to the death of at least one Afghan soldier. Two others have been wounded.

New Libyan government takes over foreign ministry
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Libya’s new unity government on Monday took control of the foreign affairs ministry headquarters in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
as it seeks to assert its authority over the violence-plagued country.

Mohammad al-Amari, a minister of state in the Government of National Accord, signed the documents passing control of the complex in the north of the capital to the new government, an AFP journalist said.

Since last Monday, the unity government has also taken control of the transport, social affairs, environment, and youth and sports ministries.

The international community sees the GNA as the best hope for oil-rich Libya, which has been roiled by turmoil since the 2011 ouster and killing of longtime ruler Muammar Qadaffy
...Custodian of Wheelus AFB for 42 long years until he was ejected from the gene pool by his indignant citizens...
"The ministries of religious endowment, planning, education and labor will be transferred (to the GNA) this week," Amari told AFP.

Libya’s State Council, the most senior consultative body created under a UN-brokered power-sharing deal in December, met for the first time on Friday.

The GNA has still not been endorsed by a vote of confidence from the internationally recognized parliament now sitting in Tobruk in the country’s far east.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
on Thursday 102 MPs of the Tobruk parliament - a majority - expressed confidence in the new government despite the lack of a formal vote.

Libya’s warring rivals have come under intense international pressure to rally behind the unity government at a time when the country is grappling with a growing jihadist threat.

While the GNA has now having taken control of several ministries, these have yet to get down to work.

"As soon as the ministers take the oath of office, they can begin working from these ministries," Amari said.

Arabia
al-Qaeda abandons Mukalla to Soddies
ADEN: Yemeni troops have recaptured a key port city from Al-Qaeda militants who held it for a year, in what a Saudi-led coalition hailed Monday as a major victory in which over 800 extremists were killed.

The assault on the southeastern city of Mukalla, home to some 200,000 people, was part of a wider counter-offensive against the extremists launched by pro-government forces last month after a year in which they had focused their firepower on Shiite Houthi rebels who control the capital.

It comes as government and rebel delegations hold peace talks in Kuwait.
At the talks, which opened last Thursday, UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said that “significant differences... remain but nonetheless there is consensus on the need to make peace.”

The peace talks and US President Barack Obama’s visit have contributed to a change in “strategic priorities,” with Al-Qaeda back at the top, according to the Soufan Group consultancy.

Further west in Shabwa province, a US drone on Monday struck two vehicles carrying Al-Qaeda militants near the town of Azzan — from which the extremists have fled — killing nine extremists, a provincial official said.

“We entered the city center and were met by no resistance from Al-Qaeda militants who withdrew west,” a military officer told AFP by telephone from Mukalla.

The officer, who requested anonymity, said residents had appealed to the extremists to spare the city the destruction of fighting and to withdraw.

Troops deployed in Mukalla on Monday and set up checkpoints across the city, security officials said.

“The operation resulted... in the deaths of more than 800 Al-Qaeda members and some of their leaders, while some others fled,” the coalition commanders said.

‘Relative quiet’ prompts Israel to end months of closure on Palestinian town
[IsraelTimes] Main entrance to Hebron-area village of Bani Naim was blocked in the wake of festivities between IDF, local residents

After nearly seven months of an Israeli-imposed closure, the IDF on Sunday reopened the main entrance to a Paleostinian village in the West Bank, the army announced on social media.

The main road connecting the town of Bani Naim to the nearby city of Hebron
...a.k.a. Hamas Central in the West Bank...
was closed last October in the wake of violent festivities between local Paleostinian residents and IDF soldiers.

According to Hariz Safadi, the area director for Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the road was reopened due to the "calm that prevailed" in the town recently.

COGAT, Safadi said, would "continue to introduce new developments in Hebron in light of the relatively quiet situation." He added that the IDF branch tasked with Paleostinian civil affairs was "interested in taking steps to make residents’ life easier."

Safadi made the announcement on COGAT’s al-Munasek -- Arabic for "the coordinator" -- Facebook page on Saturday evening.

Afghanistan
20 militants killed as major Taliban offensive repulsed in Farah
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 20 Lions of Islam were killed after a major Taliban offensive was repulsed in western Farah province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the Talibs launched the offensive on an Afghan National Army (ANA) base in Anar Dara district.

A statement by MoD said the offensive was repulsed by the Afghan cops by receiving close-air support from the Afghan Air Force.

MoD said at least 16 Lions of Islam were also maimed during the clash while the remaining Lions of Islam fled the area.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.

Farah is among the relatively volatile provinces in western Afghanistan where anti-government armed krazed killer groups are actively operating in a number of its districts and often carry out insurgency activities.

The attack on the army base in Anar Dara district comes as the group has launched coordinated attacks across the country following the announcement of their spring offensive earlier this month.

Turkey: Militants deported
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
has deported more than 3,300 foreigners suspected of links to murderous Moslems groups, particularly ISIS myrmidons, and another 41,000 foreigners have been barred from entering the country as part of its fight against the myrmidon group, a top official said Monday.

Turkish profiling teams have also interviewed 9,500 people upon their arrival in Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin, a front man for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
, told news hounds. Some 2,000 of them were denied entry as a result.

Around 2,770 suspects, including 1,232 foreigners, have been caught in police sweeps and 954 of them are being prosecuted, Kalin said.

He didn’t give further details. Turkish officials have refused to provide a breakdown of the murderous Moslems suspects by nationality or give details on the countries they have been deported back to.

Separately, Turkey’s state-news agency, citing unnamed military sources, said close to 900 alleged ISIS murderous Moslems have been killed since January in Turkish artillery and air strikes against the group in Syria. The agency said 492 of the murderous Moslems were killed in air raids while another 370 were killed by artillery fire. The agency didn’t specify how the figures were obtained and it wasn’t possible to verify them independently.

Turkey, long accused of turning a blind eye to the Death Eaters crossing into Syria, has now taken a larger role in the fight against ISIS, opening a key air base in southern Turkey to the US-led coalition fighting the Death Eaters and reinforcing its border to prevent infiltrations.

9/11 truth poses ‘existential threat’ to Israel: Analyst
[Iran Press TV] The recent media frenzy over Soddy Arabia

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s possible role in the September 11, 2001 attacks is aimed at distracting people from much deeper involvement of Israel as the truth would endanger the Tel Aviv regime’s existence, an analyst in Idaho says.

Mark Glenn made the remarks in an interview with Press TV over US Democratic presidential contender Bernie Sanders
...The only openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords...
’ recent calls on the American government to expose Saudi Arabia’s role in the 9/11 attacks that killed some 3,000 people.

On Sunday, Sanders urged the US to address the "root cause" of the attacks, voicing support for Senate legislation that would allow families of terror victims to sue Saudi Arabia in federal court.

"I believe that the entire operation is one that is rooted in distracting people away from what the truly problematic elements are with regards to 9/11," Glenn said.

"Let’s keep in mind that 9/11 took place fifteen years ago and since that time we are now involved in the fourth presidential election cycle and yet only now, fifteen years later, suddenly we have people talking about Saudi Arabia’s role," he added.
Glenn further explained that Sanders and others feel compelled to address the issue not for the sake of revealing the truth but because Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump opened "the can of worms" months ago.

Trump has said that the 9/11 could have been prevented by the US government. He has also brought up the issue of the 28 pages of a congressional report on the attacks that have been kept secret by the White House for over 13 years.

Describing Trump’s comments as "cryptic" and "confusing," Glenn said the real estate magnate is basically threatening to "start certain discussions that are going to make certain people very uncomfortable," in case they continue to oppose his candidacy.

"And I believe this revolves all around Israel’s role in 9/11," he noted.

"This entire operation that Saudi Arabia is being center-staged as the true subject of these 28 pages that have been kept hidden from the American people, this is just, as I said, an operation aimed at distracting people away from the more damning and problematic information where Israel is actually the centerpiece of the discussion," the analyst continued.

"If the American people were to find out what happened and how Israel was directly involved in 9/11, it would obviously change the political landscape vis-à-vis America and her support for Israel" in such a radical way that would be considered an "existential threat" to the Tel Aviv regime, he concluded.

ISIS losing ground to Syrian rebels near Turkish border
[ARA News] ALEPPO – Subsequent to fierce clashes with militant fighters of Islamic State (ISIS), Syrian rebel groups were able to regain control of several areas in the northern province of Aleppo, killing a number of jihadis during the fighting, local and military sources reported on Monday.

Local activists confirmed that this came in conjunction with the Turkish artillery bombardment on ISIS locations in the villages and towns near Syria-Turkey borderline.

Speaking to ARA News in Aleppo, rebel spokesman Saleh al-Zein said that rebel groups, including the 1st regiment fighters, the Sultan Murad Brigade and the 13th Squad were able to recapture the town of Kafr Ghan after heavy fighting with ISIS militants, during which they killed a number of jihadi militants and injured several others.

ISIS insurgents responded to the rebels-led attack by targeting their gatherings within the town of Kafr Ghan with a car bomb attack, killing and wounding several rebel fighters.

ARA News have no precise information about the death toll in rebels’ ranks.

The rebel spokesman added: “Our advancement came in conjunction with Turkish artillery fire on ISIS headquarters in the towns of al-Raee, Jarez and Hour al-Naher, causing the terror group heavy losses in manpower and equipment.”

In the meantime, ISIS jihadis launched a counter attack on the outskirts of Tel Hussein, but rebel fighters were able to deter the group’s offensive, forcing them to retreat to their positions inside the al-rare town, according to al-Zein.

ISIS was able two weeks ago to seize control of the strategic town of al-Raee in northern Aleppo subsequent to fierce battles with rebel fighters.

Rebel faction are now cracking down on ISIS militants in al-Raee, amid continuous attempts to cut the group’s supply lines in the bordering towns with Turkey, in order to compel ISIS to withdraw from the region.

Another Minnesota man pleads guilty in Islamic State case
[IsraelTimes] 21-year-old student joins five other suspects in accepting a plea deal, admits to conspiring to provide material support to terror group

Another Minnesota man pleaded guilty Monday to conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State

Hamza Naj Ahmed, 21, changed his plea in US District Court in Minneapolis. He had been scheduled to go on trial with three other men next month.

Ahmed’s plea comes 11 days after another defendant, Adnan Abdihamid Farah, accepted a plea deal, the Star Tribune reported.

Ahmed pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization and to financial aid fraud. The college student was accused of using a $2,700 school loan to try to join the Islamic State.

Prosecutors will move to dismiss the remaining charges, including conspiracy to murder outside the United States, at Ahmed’s sentencing, for which a date has not been set. He faces up to 15 years in prison on the conspiracy to provide material support charge and up to five years on the financial aid fraud charge but avoided a possible life sentence with his plea.

Six defendants have now pleaded guilty. A tenth man is on the lam, believed to be in Syria.

The three remaining defendants -- Guled Ali Omar, Mohammed Abdihamid Farah and Abdirahman Yasin Daud -- have pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
and are scheduled to go on trial May 9.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
ISIS releases new recruiting video
Crappy food, no wimminz, constant aerial bombardment, plenty of room to advance...
[ARA News] ERBIL – Radical group of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Monday released a new propaganda video calling on youngsters and elderly Muslims to join its ranks and back its cause against the western coalition.

The ISIS-linked Wilayat al-Khayr media center in Deir ez-Zor [in Syria’s east] released a propaganda film under the banner “Youngsters and Elderly”, showing two ISIS membersــ a youngster and an elderly manــ sending messages to the Muslims all over the world, inciting them to join the radical group, including young and elderly men.

Pro-ISIS activists circulated the new version on the social media under the banner “Youngsters and Elderly”, calling on teenagers and elderly men to join ISIS jihad against “enemies of Allah”.

The version flashes between the two persons who keep citing Quranic verses as proofs for the legitimacy of joining the Caliphate’s military, even if they are too young or too old.

In broken Arabic, an old man ــwho seems to be Moroccan nationalــ narrates his journey to Syria in order to join fighting there, as the commentator indicates on the tape that jihad is a must on adults and youngsters alike ــderived from the Quranic verse “Be prepared as youngsters and elderly”. He vowed that the American warplanes would never scare “the soldiers of the Caliphate”.

Then a 14-year-old boy appears saying he joined ISIS ranks at the fighting front of the Deir ez-Zor’s airbase and he chose to be a suicidal member in the group’s ranks as he has already registered his name, and his turn came by now to carry out a jihadi operation.

The boy pointed out that the loss of the town of Shaddadi [in Hasakah province] and the historic city of Palmyra [in central Syria] is not very important, but “committing to the Caliphate’s rules is much important,” he argued.

Then the commentator calls on everyone to join ISIS in order “to support widows, orphans and the oppressed”.

The old man appears again concluding that he will not forgive his sons who did not join the jihad and that he is ready “to die for the sake of Allah”.

Observers believe that the group has received painful blows during the past few months, especially after the US-led coalition forces intensified airstrikes against its command centers and vital resources in Syria and Iraq. ISIS tries to compensate its losses through releasing new propaganda videos in a bid to recruit as many people as possible.

The Grand Turk
PKK Warns Turkey Rebels Will 'Escalate the War'
[AnNahar] The Kurdish rebel PKK movement is ready to step up its fight against The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
in response to Ankara's blistering military campaign, its leader warned in a BBC interview released Monday.

Since the collapse of a two-year ceasefire with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) last year, Turkish government forces have been carrying out operations against the group in the southeast of the country.

PKK leader Cemil Bayik said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
was "escalating this war".

"The Kurds will defend themselves to the end, so long as this is the Turkish approach -- of course the PKK will escalate the war," he told the British broadcaster.

Erdogan said this month that 355 members of the security forces had been killed in fighting as well as over 5,000 PKK members -- although this could not be independently verified.

Its rebels are accused of trying to create a separate Kurdish state within Turkey -- but Bayik denied it.

"We don't want to separate from Turkey and set up a state. We don't want to divide Turkey. We want to live within the borders of Turkey on our own land freely... The struggle will continue until the Kurds' innate rights are accepted," he said.

The PKK was ready to escalate the conflict "not only in Kurdistan, but in the rest of Turkey as well", he added.

Erdogan "wants the Kurds to surrender. If they don't surrender, he wants to kill all Kurds. He says this openly - he doesn't hide it," Bayik said.

The PKK launched a bloody insurgency against the Turkish government in 1984 seeking independence, beginning a decades-long fight for greater autonomy and rights for Kurds which has left 40,000 dead.

It later watered down its demands to seek instead more autonomy with cultural and language rights. Jailed PKK founder Abdullah Ocalan called a truce in March 2013, but tensions over the Syrian conflict kickstarted the violence last year.

Erdogan has proposed stripping Turkish citizenship from supporters of Kurdish rebels and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is trying to alter Turkey's constitution, to allow prosecutions of pro-Kurdish politicians accused of "terrorist propaganda".

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Former US senator finds ‘another romance’ this time with a man
[Iran Press TV] A senior US senator has announced that he will marry a male partner some 40 years after the death of his wife.

Former Pennsylvania Senator Harris Wofford, 90,
... 2016 - 40 = 1976 was the year she died...
said he was "lucky" enough to have "found happiness" again in marriage with 40-year-old Matthew Charlton.

Wofford initially made the shocking announcement in a column for the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
, titled "Finding Love Again, This Time With a Man."

The former Democratic senator, who has served as a friend and unofficial advisor to Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as a special assistant to President John F Kennedy, also bragged about his "love" towards his late wife, who died of acute leukemia back in 1996.
...2016 - 1996 = 20 years ago. It looks like the Iran PressTV reporter has a little problem with math facts.
"I don't categorize myself based on the gender of those I love. I had a half-century of marriage with a wonderful woman, and now am lucky for a second time to have found happiness."

In the column, Wofford also provides details of how he realized his "bond" with Charlton "had grown into love" on a beach in Florida five years after the death of his wife.

On June 26, 2015, the United States became the 21st and most populous country to legalize same-sex marriage as a result of a Supreme Court ruling.

PTI MPA killed over political rivalry, TTP claim false: KP police
[DAWN] Malakand police on Monday claimed that Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) minority MPA Soran Singh was killed over political rivalry, and the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain's (TTP) claim to have killed him is false.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Malakand Azad Khan in a presser claimed that a fellow PTI leader Baldev Kumar was behind the murder of Soran Singh as he wanted to avenge political rivalry.

"Baldev Kumar wanted to contest the election instead of Singh... after failing to get the party ticket, Kumar planned the murder," said DIG Khan.

The officer said police had tossed in the slammer
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
six people in connection with the murder including Baldev and the assassins hired to kill the PTI politician, and registered cases against them.

DIG Malakand further said that anti-terrorism clauses have been included in the cases as the murder invoked fear among the people of the area and minority community.

Answering a question about the police security provided to the slain MPA, the officer said Singh always refused to keep police guards with him in Buner, "as he felt safe enough in his hometown".

Police had arrested Baldev on Sunday from Barikot tehsil of Swat
...a valley and an administrative district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistain, located 99 mi from Islamabad. It is inhabited mostly by Pashto speakers. The place has gone steadily downhill since the days when Babe Ruth was the Sultan of Swat...
and shifted him to an unspecified location for interrogation.

Sardar Soran Singh, special assistant to chief minister KP on minorities’ affairs and an MPA, was bumped off in a assassination near Pir Baba in Buner district on Friday. TTP had grabbed credit for the liquidation.

Elected to the provincial assembly on a reserved seat and a Sikh by faith, the dear departed was revered by minorities for promoting interfaith harmony, installing boxes in the streets to collect torn pieces of sacred scriptures, and promoting the country’s soft image through speeches.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran threatens US with legal action over frozen funds ruling
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran threatened Monday to take legal action in the International Court of Justice against the United States if $2 billion in frozen funds are "diverted" to compensate victims of attacks.

On Thursday, Tehran said the US Supreme Court’s decision to deduct $2 billion from its frozen assets to compensate American victims of "terror" attacks amounted to theft.

"We hold the US administration responsible for preservation of Iranian funds and if they are plundered, we will lodge a complaint with the ICJ for reparation," Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

He was speaking at a joint news conference with visiting Macedonian counterpart Nicolas Poposki.

The US Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that Iran must hand over nearly $2 billion in frozen assets to survivors and relatives of those killed in attacks blamed on the Islamic republic.

These included the 1983 bombing of a US Marine barracks in Beirut and the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
The decision affects more than 1,000 Americans.

The official IRNA news agency on Monday cited Zarif as saying in English that if such a ruling were applied, it would be "misappropriation" of Iranian funds.

"We have announced since the beginning that Iranian government does not recognise the US extra-territorial law and consider the US court ruling to blockade Iranian funds null and void and in gross violation of the International Law," he said.

The US court’s decision comes at a time of hopes for better ties between longtime foes Tehran and Washington, following a nuclear agreement last year between Iran, the United States and five other major powers.

Afghanistan
Ghani warns Pakistan, asks to act against Taliban based in Peshawar and Quetta
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
said Monday that the government of Afghanistan is not expecting Pakistain to bring Taliban group to negotiations table, urging Islamabad to take actions against the myrmidon groups acting Afghanistan using the Pak soil.

He was speaking during a gathering in Afghan Parliament following a deadly attack in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
last week which left over 400 people dead or maimed.

President Ghani further added that the leadership of the Talibs is based in Quetta and Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
from where they coordinate and launch attacks in Afghanistan.

Emphasizing on Islamabad’s commitments to take military actions against the myrmidon groups pursuing violence in accordance with the QCG agreements, President Ghani warned that Afghanistan will approach the UN Security Council and other international organizations to lodge complaint if necessary actions are not taken.

Ghani further added that the Pak government should act responsibly in fight against terrorist groups, insisting that there should not be distinction between good and bad terrorists.

He said the Afghan government will take strict actions against those spilling the blood of the Afghan forces and civilians, vowing execution as punishment for the detained myrmidons.

Presenting religious justifications in the light of Koran to defend the Afghan people and country against the rebel groups, Ghani said the Taliban group will suffer in the battlefield and will eventually request for peace talks.
