#2 Melania Trump who has recently won several personal slander lawsuits against journalists is now letting the White House Communications people know she is not happy with the weak defense they have put forth for her husband who is under constant attack. Look for her to step up on his behalf.

#3 Such appointments are always fraught with risks. Special counsels often feel/think they are supposed to find some wrongdoing and go to great lengths to prove it. What are the chances Mueller will (a) Find something that rises to the level of criminality, or (b) Find nothing and pack up his bags and depart? Either way, there will be one party or the other who complains about the results. I never saw the need for a Special Counsel in the first place. If Mueller says "nothing to see here," Trump will be able to keep his enemies at bay but barking. If there is something that is problematic, Trump will be fighting calls for impeachment, resignation, and become a lame duck.
