#2 So much time has been lost. O killed the program and has his people in place at this time. The wealthy will have their opportunity now. Reminds me of the Buffalo hunts by train. With any future we will have the doom and gloom people. Poking holes in the atmosphere and so on. Very much like an old movie favorite of mine;

#3 The private companies have been making progress in the meantime. NASA may want to hand that off to them, while concentrating on Mars and such.

#7 Government should stick to infrastructure that will assist the various corporate entities. A proper space station that can be used for refueling once in orbit for example.
