#1 we must continue to do this, quickly and decisively, if we are to win hearts and minds campaign - death squad attacks may be only a nuisance to the logistics chain, but they distance our troops from the population, make them wary and even trigger-happy, and lead to downward spiral. better to hold off on the forward advance, and hit the baathists hard, to secure the cities and build a base of good will.

Sorry, that's exactly what saddam hasbeen wants us to do. We can't let up the pressure on Baghdad for ANYTHING. We keep advancing, moving closer and closer, surround the city, and start squeezing. The sooner ALL the Ba'ath party is found, rounded up, and turned over to the Iraqi people for ~~execution~~ trial, the better.
