#6 abbas falling would not be good for Israel. For IDF to reoccupy all of the WB would be very costly, in men, money, and international good will.

Alternatively letting Hamas take over the WB will not be good either.

And dont fool yourself that Jordan will take it.

If Abbas falls, Israel just might release Marwan Bargouti in the hope we would at least be more effective.

If Abbas goes down Israel might release Marwan Bar

#8 The IDF ops in the west bank are at least 50% directed at Hamas and, in these ops, they get Fatah cooperation most of the time and most of these ops are successful.

You'd have to think a non-Abbas Fatah could survive at Hamas attack.
