#1 The problem with the Isreali system is that you need competent operators who can learn the "tells", analyze information and make valid decsions based on the facts. Since TSA seems to be comprised mostly of ACORN rejects with little interest and fewer brains, it ain't gonna work here unless there's a sea change.

#2 Yep. TSA gets about 120 hours of training, background checked and set loose.

#3 TSA gets about 120 hours of training

Hey, it is no easy job teaching people to be that surly and ass-holic.

#4 The Israeli profilers are just ordinary people with good training and good motivation.

TSA folk, many of whom are ex military, are just as good, however, the training would take a long time and the results might not be acceptable to Americans. That is because Americans don't like people knowing their business and many Americans have never been subjected to a serious inquiry. It would be very upsetting to them. Of course there is also the problem that CAIR would complain as would the ACLU and others.

#5 At the risk of getting called for piling on, a quote from over at Instapundit:

According to an interview with the TSA Human Resources office, there is NO psychological testing of applicants.

#6 Yep. Government of the people, for the people, and by the people. By people whose majority have never been subjected to a serious psyche inquiry.

#7 Ah, do I detect the old left/soviet whiff of 'those who don't agree with me must be mentally unstable'?

#11 Best idea i've heard all day. Hope someone makes a convincing argument on how we could ever hope to compare to Israeli style security with the human resources and mindsets we have to work with here at home. And soon. Ill be waiting in the troll lounge, Cheers!
