We may be below 1% growth in the Oct 1 to Dec 31 quarter and go negative at some point in 2013.

Sez you, lord garth. Mr. Friedman is quite, quite certain there is no fiscal cliff approaching. Nor has he, normally so obsessed with the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, deigned so much as to mention the little contretemps going on so noisily in Gaza at the moment. So I know which of the two of you I think more likely to have got it right. ;-)

Obama's nightmare is that 3am phone call where he actually has to do something beyond his community activist super powers of making speeches and pointing fingers. At the moment, there are multiple calls in the holding queue, not the least of which is the economy. Voting 'Present' will not make any of them hang up.
