#1 Where is Turkey getting the money for this? I thought they were heeding for a credit crunch, having spent on consumption rather than investing in production or something.

Turkey isn't providing the funds, merely the locale. No doubt the Turks, or at least some of them, are getting a percentage of whatever funds pass through Turkey.

As far as the Chinese deal, Erdogan's government likely funding it the same way the USG funds theirs.

But how could sanction busting be that profitable, when Iran also is struggling economically?

Because the money isn't going into the Iranian. civilian economy.
