#3 Salman is a pretty decent guy, and a big heartthrob for any woman in that region with a pulse.

She's smiling because she is sitting next to her hero, this will most likely be the high point of her life. Her life would have been tough under ordinary circumstances, with her disfigurement it's going to be even tougher. For however long it lasts.
