#3 Fishing for adverbs, I'm sure the malnourished, barefoot Moroccan could also have gone with either "gobsmacked" or "flabbergasted," but these have a somewhat explosive connotation, particularly regarding personal hygiene. I think his attorney helped him to come up with dumbfounded, which is more likely true.

#5 Shyster dumbfounded? Not mastering the obvious? I guess he was just dumb then if he didn't get this. The guy was on watch lists for 3 countries and he had fought with ISIS. I'll give the attorney the benefit of the doubt, he was just doing lawyerly things defending this knuckle dragger--desperate to invent a defense.

By law French majors give first names (eg Jim Joseph' Francis) as surnames to abandonned children both when parents are unknown or when mothert renounces to thé child. That is why she is named David. M'y guess is hrr father was abandonnée and autorités notices je was circumcized.
