#4 In olden times power was held by the king and the aristocracy> And who were they? They were the high government officials appointed by the king, and then become hereditary. The were the Judges who held Court. The aristocratic positions were gotten by people who helped the king usurp power and hold on to it. Success came from pleasing the powers that be, namely the king and his followers.
Socialism is the same thing, clothed in words aimed at fooling children. The powers that be are the high government officials (not yet hereditary) and success comes through influence with them.

#9 It's an old Chinese tradition of killing off other blood relatives to secure the throne, especially as the emperor had a rather large harem. The houses of York and Lancaster had nothing on the Chinese blood lines for mischief.
