#1 Evil cannot be blamed, it's simply a tool of natural selection which pre-dates political candidates or parties. Those of us who exercise 'free will,' reject the moral imperative, and choose the wrong tool are the ones to be blamed.

Copperheads are fairly common in Georgia. Particularly common near streams and ponds during dry periods where I deer hunt. Nothing particularly evil about the Copperhead. 'Free Will' permits one to stop and observe the creature. 'Free Will' also offers the opportunity to reach down and pick one up. Leaving it undisturbed and simply moving on seems like such an obvious choice.

When our "better" schools became purveyors of a credential-ocracy instead of a meritocracy starting some time in the 1980's, they guaranteed that we would come to this point.

Blame Griggs vs Duke Power, affirmative action, KGB-planted meme bombs, Saudi money, and an education industry that sold its soul in exchange for government money to turn out graduates who were neither bright or authentically educated.

#3 Wikileaks gives us a peek inside the mind of those chosen to be leaked. Which I have appreciated these last few weeks.

On the other hand, who among us could stand to have their innermost thoughts exposed and examined by the public? Who will run for office in 2018 and 2020? The pure and righteous? Or the conniving and character-less? David Muir? Dan Rather? Madonna?

#4 While I certainly have my concerns about the state of the State, some of my local evidence goes against the trend;

My parish has expanded it's facilities twice in the past 10 years. We now have over 2000 families attending. One may be surprised by the number of young families with children that attend. It's no longer just a bunch of white-haired Catholics (like me).

But more importantly, the parish school has doubled in both space and students this year. Additionally, we've started to add again to the (newly completed) school. We expect to double in size again by 2018. So, I need to raise another $5 million or so starting right now.

Perhaps the numbers of decent, hardworking folks nationwide is shrinking - I don't know about that. But maybe the (smaller numbers of the) faithful are consolidating and becoming stronger.

Similar to that of the Marine Corps.

I can hope.

#5 IMO that about 2/3 of the American people have not failed their moral exam, it is the elites who have failed their moral exam. I just hope and pray there are enough moral and good people to change our country's direction. Consistently, polls have indicated that about 2/3 of the people think the country has been headed in the wrong direction.

That would be a great question to ask all the self-proclaimed Evangelical Christians that abandoned their values to cast their primary vote for a thrice married adulterer best known for his lewd behavior and idolatrous lifestyle.
