#1 Love them or hate then, most striker fired pistols, like a Glock, Walther, Springfield Armory XD-S, or Sig P320C solves all of those 1911 problems for concealed carry.

1911 is overrated as a concealed carry for the average person.

#3 Got to be able to conceal it, GS.
It's a sweet weapon but a 'cocked and locked' single action in a new owner's hands can be trouble.

Went to a 'gun show' in town today.
Most for 'buy/sell/trade' were older than the attendees, or their parents. Few pistols.

Seems the Hilarity panic buyers aren't yet relinquishing their spirit.
