Rape and murder appear to be generally acceptable in that culture. Homosexuality (thought by many to be an intrinsic part of pedophilia) is not.

With regard to the... "two brutes", I'm going with homosexuality. Note, no mention made of LGBT in the Post story. The female relative by the way, was not executed.

#5 Actually the article indicates that the woman accomplice was sentenced to death, but that her unborn child actually matters, so they'll wait until it is born.
