#6 I remember as a kid in the 50s reading how US subs had a "Christmas tree" - a panel of red and green lights that showed the status of every hatch on the boat. Even one red light would mean that the boat couldn't drive. At least if it 2anted to surface later.

#7 No surprise if it was a purposed sabotage by traitorous naval officers or staff. In a country where money is literally worshiped as a goddess, it's no big deal to find traitors that sell out even defense secrets and do enemies favors like this.
