Based upon human nature, why work your butt off trying to improve your lot when the slackers get the same outcome. The result is the lowest common denominator in any circumstances.

#3 The abrupt change of heart appears to have been instigated by Virginia AG Jason Miyares’ announcement of an investigation into the controversy, including possible civil rights violations given that so many of the harmed students are Asian.

That'll hurt given the commies have been getting away with classifying Asians as 'white' (because they're successful in the 'supposed' racist institutions of Western Civilization).

#5 The merit award is something that the student has personally earned, not something given to denigrate the other students, nor taken from other students.

Gummint denying you what you have earned. Where have we heard that before? Taxation maybe?
