The former CAMP Program (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting) was long ago ended, and the enforcement task forces disbursed. So enforcement devolves to USFS and BLM Special Agents, and given the misdemeanor status, not even a priority.

The cash basis for the marijuana industry has created a massive incentive for the cartels to compete with "legal" grows, and illegal grow sites have massive environment pollution issues, as well as public safety and public access concerns. The Sequoia National Forest and the El Dorado National Forest are particularly impacted as Mexican cartels move northward into the central Sierra region.

No. Nothing to do with mj. The mom did something she shouldnt or associated with someone that made a poor choice. Cartel violence, like mafia violence, doesnt happen in a vacuum. Am not condoning violence. But if you get mixed up with the cartels (or mafia), you know the rules. And you can die by the rules. Some of the safest Mexican Cities are the ones run by cartels where everyone honors the rules.

What would an illegal grow operation have that a legal grow operation wouldn't, or that a farm wouldnt, or that a ranch wouldnt? I know so many hippies that go out to MtShasta to trim that if there was environmental pollutants... They are hippies, do i need to xplain.
