#5 They're close. 1984 will be remembered for the now corrected reasons. Orwell won't be history for some time - that will need to be rediscovered along with Tolkien, Heinlen, CS Lewis...etc.

#7 Old news. The left has hated Orwell for a long time. First for betraying them by revealing that English socialists despised and ridiculed the working class, and then by writing two classic novels that reveal exactly what socialism does when it takes over.

Did anyone seriously think they LIKED Orwell? WTF?
