#1 Talk about bad luck guy? Or, maybe, self distructive behavior?

#2 :...spent 16 years in jail after being wrongfully convicted of armed robbery in 2003"

Some deeper case details

"On April 14, 2020, the CRU agreed to modify Cure’s sentence to 16 years to allow him to be released based on time served..."

In short. He was NOT found wrongfully convicted, just released with time served.

#3 So why the headline - author's whimsy?

#4 Look at him. Could he really have done anything wrong?

#5 I thought armed robbery carried a 15 year sentence, so the author is blowing smoke up our ass trying to get shit started.

#6 So the headline was itself a lie?

#7 The courts are making it up as they go along. I don't wanna hear one more damn mention of "stare decisis."

#8 ^Well you know these protests Israel had for months. It's all because the legislative branch wanted to take away the Supreme Court's right to say "That law/goverment decision seems unreasonable to us - hence, it's illegal."

#9 ^ It's called "subjectivism." People who are opposed to it are called "Randroids."

#10 Pretty sure he is a lifetime criminal, just had his sentence reviewed and adjusted based on some leniency criteria. I suspect, given the state of modern journalism, that the reporter saw "Innocence Project"... and stopped reading the part about "Conviction Review Unit".

#11 Yeah, headline makes it sound like guy got bushwacked at the bus stop outside the pen.

I'd say fair odds toxicology says he wasn't pulled over at 7:30am for speeding because he was going to be late for work.

#12 Just watched the video. Noncompliant then combative. Taser didn't stop him and he was choking the officer out. Nice new Dodge Ram truck (wonder who bought that?)

Dude did everything but draw a weapon on the officer before the shooting.
