Brooks is facing more than 70 criminal charges: six counts of first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, 61 counts of recklessly endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon, six counts of hit-and-run involving death and two counts of bail jumping, all felonies; and two counts of misdemeanor domestic abuse-battery. He will represent himself. Here's what happened on Day 1 of the trial, which begins with jury selection.
BROOKS WAS REMOVED REPEATEDLY FROM THE COURTROOM
After repeated disruptions, Waukesha County Circuit Judge Jennifer Dorow removed Brooks from the courtroom, three times in the morning and again in the afternoon.
Brooks was removed for a second time after Dorow told him he was continuing to be disruptive, something he had previously been warned about. In all, Dorow called six breaks in the proceedings between 8:30 a.m. and noon, not counting the two instances where Brooks had to be removed.
"If your intention is to disrupt these proceedings ... or make a mockery of this court, I cannot tolerate that," Dorow told Brooks during a spate of interruptions.
"I cannot see how my conduct is disruptive," Brooks said.
Dorow told Brooks if the interruptions continued, she would appoint an attorney for him to keep the trial on track. The trial is scheduled to run from Oct. 3-28.
After the lunch break, with Brooks again moved to the neighboring courtroom because of continued disruptions, Dorow voiced her findings, specifying the 1970 U.S. Supreme Court case law, Illinois v. Allen, that established the legality of removing him until he agreed to act in accordance with the standards of dignity, respect and decorum the proceedings require.
"The conduct of Mr. Allen pales in comparison to Mr. Brooks," Dorow said.
The process of jury selection, sometimes called voir dire, which includes hundreds of potential jurors, began about 2 p.m. Monday as a result of the near-constant interruptions from Brooks.
Dorow said before the trial the jury selection process could last one day or several, but it's unclear if that timeline still holds. A total of 315 jurors are available for selection.
By the end of the day Monday, however, the court had only interviewed 41 jurors, with 64 jurors from the initial 105-person allotment still waiting in the wings. Those jurors will now be interviewed Tuesday morning, and the remaining 34 jurors who weren't struck for cause will return at 1 p.m..
The hope is to fill a jury panel of 16 (including four alternate jurors) from that Day 1 pool. The second group of 105 jurors was pushed until Wednesday.
By extension, if all 315 potential jurors were to be interviewed, the process would now continue into Thursday.
WHO WAS STRUCK FOR CAUSE AND WHY
Among the jurors who were already told prior to Tuesday that they are dismissed was a mix that included some with close connections to the incident.
One woman, a nurse at ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital, told Dorow that she initially thought she could set aside her experiences. She was among those treating victims from the parade on Nov. 21.)"But now ...," she said, her voice breaking and trailing off.
Another said his wife also worked at the hospital, but was dismissed as the injured arrived. The reason for her dismissal wasn't immediately clear.
In the end, the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office concurred with all the strikes for cause Brooks listed.
However, there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... neither Dorow nor prosecutors addressed Brooks' broader motion.
"I just want to strike them all," Brooks said.
Dorow said she would take his motion under advisement and announce her decision Tuesday morning.
TRIAL PHASE WILL FOLLOW AFTERWARD
Waukesha County District Attorney Sue Opper previously said she anticipates prosecutors will take between five and seven business days to present their case. There has been no indication about how long it could take Brooks to argue his defense.
Prior to Brooks' decision to waive his right to an attorney , it appeared the trial would not require the full four weeks. But experts say that if Brooks is allowed to represent himself, it could slow down the process.

Simple suggestion.
Put him in a separate room with 2 guards.
Setup with courtroom 2 way video and listening audio only and computer "terminal" with a keyboard linked to the courtroom display.
Have him type any objections and or legal points and await verbal and/terminal answers.
Videotape and provide CCTV copies to him of himself and the court's interactions.
Given, there is ZERO DOUBT this POS did it and was caught dead to rights.
IF WOKE - Social Justice - etc. allows him to be found guilty:
IF he is sentenced to death.
IF BLM doesn't make him The Blackman Of The Year.
IF the US DOJ doesn't take over.
IF Biden doesn't commute his sentence to life, for midterms votes.
I would support a sentence of death that uses the same physical process he used to murder and maim these innocent people.

Don't know how much of this is pre-trial theater. The guy seems to be angling for a 'mental competence' ruling of some sort and he's been through the system enough times to know how it works.

Paul Kutz, 53, was shot to death Sunday morning on the final day of a Marist College "family weekend" in Poughkeepsie, New York. Kutz was there to visit his son when the tragedy occurred in the lobby of a Marriott hotel at around 7:30 AM, according to NBC.
Although police have not released many details of the incident, two men have been arrested and charged as a result of the killing. Roy Johnson has been accused of shooting Kutz in the chest and torso with a 9-mm semi-automatic handgun, in a felony complaint filed in Poughkeepsie Town Court. Johnson was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Both are felonies. Johnson’s last known address was reported as Hyde Park, located on the Hudson River north of Poughkeepsie.
Also arrested at the scene was 26-year-old Devin Taylor of Poughkeepsie, receiving felony charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. According to the complaint, Taylor possessed a loaded .223-caliber rifle that had no serial number. The weapon has been reported as a "ghost gun."
The two men, whom officials said had at least one prior felony conviction apiece, were arraigned and a court date has been set for October 7. They are currently being held in the Dutchess County Jail.
The incident reportedly occurred when Johnson went to the lobby to get coffee and got into a heated argument with a group including hotel staff. When he started firing he reportedly emptied his 30-round clip.
Caught in the crossfire was Kutz, father of three sons with his wife of over 35 years, and a certified public accountant from East Northport on Long Island, who was felled on the spot.
"Investigators said that the handgun used in the shooting had a clip of 30 bullets, which was empty when it was recovered in the parking lot. It is believed that more than two dozen shots were fired inside and outside the hotel," NBC reported, also noting that the Glock had an illegal switch that turned it from semi-automatic to automatic firing mode, and continuing, "The senior law enforcement official had said Johnson and Taylor were in a hotel room smoking a PCP-like substance prior. Johnson was remanded without bail and Taylor was remanded on $1,000,000 bond. The pair, both homeless, are next scheduled to appear in court on Friday."
Both the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI are involved in the investigation of the incident that unfolded over several hours beginning with officers arriving at 7:30 AM, followed by the assistance of a bomb squad. Several sources reported that the kaboom Tannerite was discovered in the possession of one of the suspects.
Police Chief Joseph Cavaliere stated that instructional materials for making bombs were found in the suspects’ hotel room.
Marist College released a statement on the tragedy:
"Yesterday morning, authorities made us aware of the tragic, fatal shooting of a parent of a Marist student at a local hotel several miles from campus.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family, and we are offering the full support of the Marist community. We remain in contact with local authorities and will keep our community informed with any updates."

[BizPacReview] Project Veritas has exposed an "anarchist" middle school teacher named Tyler Wrynn in Oklahoma in their "Secret Curriculum" series where the leftist says he wants to "burn down" the "entire system" after he resigned from a previous position at another school.
Libs of TikTok outed Wrynn originally as an anarchist and a groomer.
Wrynn also goes by the name Tyler Parks. He teaches English at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was videoed by an undercover Project Veritas journalist who got him to admit that he wants to "burn down the entire system." He claimed that a bill is preventing him from doing so because he would be terminated for being "too woke." That would be "House Bill 1775," better known as the "Parents Rights" bill.
"The only thing that’s a problem here [in Oklahoma] is that House Bill 1775 or something. I can get my license revoked for it, for being too woke... Trust me, I want to burn down the entire system," he adamantly stated.
"Eventually, you want to remove Christianity — or religion [as a whole] — from progressive thought, because religion is inherently hierarchical," Wrynn stated.
He told Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe on the phone that he didn’t speak about religion in the classroom, reiterating that he could lose his teaching license over the topic.
"So, I have a rather large TikTok following. I’m an authority figure. So, I [publish] a Christmas message of, ’Hey, if your parents don’t love and support you for who you are this Christmas, f**k them. I’m your parents now. I love you. Drink some water. I’m proud of you,’" Wrynn asserted.
The TikTok channel he is so proud of is actually what caused him to resign in April. He then got a job at a school that is just 11 miles from where he previously worked.
"They couldn’t stop you. Obviously you’re teaching, so that’s good," the Project Veritas journalist told Wrynn, reeling him in.
"No, they definitely couldn’t. Owasso was like, they were super — they didn’t want to stand up to the parents, which I get. I mean, it’s Oklahoma, so what are you going to do," he commented.
"But they definitely didn’t f*ck me over, like nothing went on my record. I could resign instead," Wrynn noted. "So I didn’t like, tarnish my teaching experience with them."
The anarchist teacher allegedly had a ton of posts on his social media praising the devil that have been deleted according to O’Keefe. There was also reportedly a lot of anti-American rhetoric. All of that disappeared before he got his new teaching gig.
The supposed anarchist is also evidently a big fan of gender ideology and Critical Race Theory. O’Keefe referred to a LinkTree link connected to Wrynn’s TikTok that lists off a number of books on those subjects. He recommends them to his students.
"Now, Tyler’s recent TikToks attempt to portray him as just an alternative teacher dabbling with wearing neckties and mocking accusations that he indoctrinates his students," said O’Keefe.
In the O’Keefe video, Wrynn claims that his Gen-Z students are "like, super progressive."
"In Missouri last year — two years ago, I taught a, like a philosophy 101 class, and we took a political quiz. Half the kids were, like, radical progressives," he contended.
Wrynn also claimed in the video, "I am definitely not part of Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... "Despite his denials of being an Antifa sympathizer, Tyler sure talks like he supports the radical agenda," O’Keefe remarked. "The Antifa movement is defined by the Anti-Defamation League as being a decentralized, leaderless movement composed of loose collections of groups, networks, and individuals. Because there is no unifying body for Antifa, it is impossible to know how many adherents are currently active."
We have many great teachers in Oklahoma. Tyler Wrynn is not one of them. Seeing this new video, where Tyler talks about indoctrinating kids, violating HB1775, being an anarchist and trying to undermine our entire education system that is not going to be accepted here in the state of Oklahoma.

"While a COVID-19 declaration is in force, for the purpose of limiting the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, an authorised COVID-19 officer may direct any person who has been exposed, or any class of person who may have been exposed, to the SARS-CoV-2 virus to do all or any of the following," the Western Australia bill reads.
" (a) to remain in an area specified by the officer for such period as is specified by the officer;"
"(b) to remain quarantined from other persons for such period, and in such reasonable manner, as is specified by the officer;"
"(c) to submit to infection prevention and control procedures within such reasonable period, and in such reasonable manner, as is specified by the officer."
Earlier this month, Australia dropped its quarantine requirements for people exposed to the virus, effective October 14. Mandatory isolation was one of the last restrictions to be lifted.
But this new bill suggests that if another COVID emergency is declared, Western Australians could be forcefully removed from their own homes and compelled to "submit" to whatever "infection prevention and control procedures" are deemed "reasonable."
Although forced vaccination isn’t directly stated in the bill, the bill’s vague wording leaves it open to such interpretation.
Canada never mandated forced vaccination, though the coercive mandates were effective in attaining one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.
