-Lurid Crime Tales-
'FBI whistleblower believes 2017 Vegas shooter was ISIS agent of revenge
BLUF:
[PJ] But Mateen himself told the world he committed the act on behalf of ISIS in retaliation for an ISIS leader’s death. He’d been on the FBI’s radar for his radicalization.

Former FBI special agent John Guandolo told Turning Point USA in a recorded interview (below) that there’s a 90% certainty that the Las Vegas attack was a jihadi operation and Stephen Paddock was the conduit through which the terrorist organization attacked America.

In the interview, Guandolo said, "When you look at what actually transpired and put it together from a counter-espionage attack and counter-espionage look, the probability that was an ISIS attack is well over 90%."

He said the special agent in charge of the Las Vegas FBI field office "got angry and dismissed it, and when presented with the information, FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., dismissed it out of hand."

Guandolo said he’d been asked to brief "a couple of people; members of Congress and others."

He said, "The FBI both in Washington, LA, and Las Vegas that participated in that investigation can’t even begin to think of it as a jihadi attack, because number one, they still don’t understand what that actually means." He continued, "they don’t understand what actually happens and they have no desire to understand what happened. So their knee-jerk reaction in these cases is always to dismiss that and point in a different direction, because they’ve been conditioned to do so." He concludes, "I mean, it only points to an ISIS attack. It does not point anywhere else. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack five times. They said that guy, he’s our guy. We hail him, he’s a martyr."

#1  He said the special agent in charge of the Las Vegas FBI field office "got angry and dismissed it, and when presented with the information, FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., dismissed it out of hand."

Possible incorrect political and media narrative. Paddock, (like Tsarnaev Bros, MAJ Nadal Hasan, and 9/11 bombers) was "on FBI's radar."

Everyone knows Islam is the religion of peace. Other Government Agency (OGA) initiatives and programs are in play here. Money trail? What money trail ?

ISIS agent of revenge theory? That's just crazy talk. No airplanes or suicide vests were involved.

Paddock motive must remain unknown, a mystery. See Epstein and Rich cases for clarification.

Move along please. Nothing to be seen here.

#6  If this was a plan by ISIS, they could done way more damage per dollar invested by donating the same resources to the Biden campaign. Going forward, hey can leave all the messy beheadings to the Planned Parenthood obstetricians and just provide max support to Schumer and Pelosi's team during the 2022 election cycle.

George Soros-backed DA realizes that soft-on-crime 'reforms' are failure
[NYPost] Nothing concentrates attention quite like the rattle of gunfire.

Certainly Albany County District Attorney David Soares — a one-time disciple of civic-disrupter George Soros
...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true...
— is not immune. The fellow has had an epiphany, and good for him. There have been at least 13 gun homicides in New York’s capital city this year — two just this past week — and roughly 80 shootings. Adjusted for population, this would approximate 1,100 homicides in New York City, and 6,800 shootings — stats sure to grab any honest man’s attention.

Soares appears to be that honest man — though it’s been a journey. He upset a hard-line incumbent DA in 2004, largely on the strength of focused opposition to New York’s then-no-nonsense, yet relatively effective, drug laws. But he also had critical financial support from billionaire Soros — the latter then just kicking off his effort to turn America’s cities into crime-wracked social swamps.

But as Soros’ scheme proceeded — Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is merely his latest trophy, to the borough’s eventual grief — Soares has been moving in the other direction.

He was an early, unashamed critic of New York’s sharp shift left on crime — opposing bail "reform," raising the age of criminal responsibility, and penal code revisions designed to hobble prosecutors. These, Soares reasoned, would lead directly to blood-stained streets.

He was correct, of course, and Monday — after another bullet-riddled week in the capital city — the DA unloaded on both Gov. Hochul and the legislative leaders responsible for the carnage.

"No meaningful action has been taken to address bail reform and ’raise the age,’ which have demonstrably [driven rising] crime in our most vulnerable neighborhoods," Soares declared. "At what number will the body count be enough to prompt action?"

Actually, it’s worse than that. Not only have Hochul, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins refused to act, they won’t even admit there’s a solution.

Take the governor, for example.

"Gov. Hochul is leading a comprehensive approach toward ending the gun violence epidemic, investing millions ... in victim assistance programs ... and convening regional gun-violence listening sessions," says her office.

Really. Gun violence listening sessions — that’ll do the trick! (Just like Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s latest deflection — today is "coffee with a cop day" in her city, a gambit certain to have the bad guys turning in their weapons and heading back to church this Sunday.)

These are all thoroughly modern New York Democrats — a gaggle by definition in the grasp of hard-left ideologues and thus oblivious to the life-and-death needs of the communities they are morally obliged to represent.

All save David Soares, it seems.

It’s not at all clear when Soares’ road-to-Damascus moment occurred — but clearly it did, and now he is speaking profound truth to hard-left political power. And his question resonates.

"At what number will the body count be enough to prompt action?" What number, indeed.

#1  Vice chair of Treasury Dept’s new racial equity committee wants to defund police, 'center race' in all policy

"True equity means equity of outcome, and not accepting the promise of ‘opportunity’ within a system that continues to systematically exclude," Wong wrote. "It demands redistribution of resources—especially when wealth for some has been extracted from many—and a redistribution of decision-making power."

Stunning how close the words are to Kamala's hurricane relief message. Almost like a general policy.

Economy
Biden Begs OPEC for More Oil Again, Gets Massive Cut Instead
[PJMedia] Remember when wages were growing and gas was $2.50 a gallon? OPEC — that cartel of generally nasty nations lucky enough to sit on top of vast oil reserves — didn’t like the situation very much.

That was way back in 2019, when oil went for an average of $64 a barrel and America was a net energy exporter. Then the pandemic hit and the unnecessary lockdowns cratered demand, gas dropped to under $2 per gallon, and a barrel of oil cost about $42. But we can’t really count the lockdowns as a period of normal activity, so let’s try and forget they ever happened.

Hard, isn’t it?

Anyway, now Americans are struggling to make ends meet as inflation outpaces our wages and the economy technically entered a recession earlier this year.

And yet a barrel of oil costs a third more than it did in 2019 and a gallon of gas is now 50% more expensive — and headed higher.

How did we go from a situation where the economy was strong and prices were low to a weak economy and high prices?

There are a number of reasons, but all of them have been exacerbated by the America-hating stupidity of Presidentish Joe Biden and the Democrat party.

American oil production has yet to recover to its peak under President Donald Trump, due entirely to Biden’s on-purpose mismanagement. That’s why, with supply down, prices up, and our Strategic Petroleum Reserve depleted to levels not seen since we were first filling it up, Biden went hat-in-hand to OPEC to beg for more oil.

But he can’t get no respect because he ain’t worthy of any. Now, with our economy wobbling, wages shrinking, and inflation rising, OPEC did the exact opposite of what Biden wanted.

They’re cutting oil output by a massive two million barrels per day.

TWO. MILLION. BARRELS.

That’s a small slice of daily production, but with supplies already tight, prices are sure to take a big bounce. And a bigger chunk out of your paycheck, every time you fill’er up.

It gets worse, though. Because with Biden, it always does.

As recently as Monday, CNBC reported that OPEC was considering cuts of only a million or so barrels.

“Nah,” OPEC said. “Let’s just double that. Because we can.”

I guess they weren’t too moved by Biden’s pleadings.

The Daily Mail says “the major cut is an abrupt turnaround from months of restoring deep cuts made during the depths of the pandemic and could help alliance member Russia weather a looming European ban on oil imports.”

More money for Russia? All this time I thought Biden was at least on Ukraine’s side, if not ours.

The White House was “having a spasm and panicking” the day before the cuts were announced, according to a CNN report.

Nevertheless, a National Security Council spokesweasel had the temerity to insist that “Thanks to the President’s efforts, energy prices have declined sharply from their highs and American consumers are paying far less at the pump.”

Gas cost a little more than two bucks when Biden assumed (and I do mean “assumed”) office. Now the average is about $3.80 — and $6.70 in California, which serves as America’s test lab for bad ideas.

Falling gas prices were the only thing keeping inflation from accelerating even faster over the last two or three months, but it seems even that poor excuse for “the good old days” is over.

Thanks, Joe — just don’t come begging for my vote in 2024.

#2  $88/bar for WTI at trading end today on Merc

was $77/bar on Sept 26

OPEC was producing about 30M bar/day before the pandemic.

They went down to about 24M during the summer of 2000. Since then it has crept up again and they have averaged about 30M during 2022.
Posted by: Lord Garth || 10/05/2022 21:23 Comments || Top||

#3  Gotta feeling nearly all of the OPEC cuts are Russian. Even at a $30/barrel discount, they couldn't sell and ship enough of the oil they are producing and will, or already, have to reduce production.
