[Babylon Bee - it's satire] VATICAN CITY‐Following his recent announcement that the Catholic Church no longer supports the use of the death penalty, Pope Francis clarified that it may still be applied to slow left-lane drivers. "It almost goes without saying," the leader of the Church commented.
Whereas prior Church teaching allowed the death penalty in certain cases, the Catechism now teaches that the punishment is always impermissible. "Except," said a Vatican spokesman, "for those reprobate souls who just hang out in the left lane as if nobody else has anywhere to be."
The decision has angered some conservative Catholics, who favor applying the death penalty in wider circumstances. "What about that guy who brings his guitar to a party and totally ruins everyone's good time?" one traditional Catholic asked. "Or those people who insist on making small talk while in line at the grocery store?"
It is unknown whether Pope Francis will also call for the death penalty for people who wake the whole neighborhood up mowing their lawns at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning, but sources close to the Pontiff state he's leaning toward the affirmative.

I feel Pretty!
In actuality, when they gang up on your ass end, You can sure expect a butt raping by the idiot in MY PASSING LANE, driving with an Iphone in their hand.
Never impede traffic. Not in MY lane, and also as this is satire, remember that most accidents happen from behind.
Also, that idiot pope is re-writing the Bible as he drives in the Left lane. With his communist bullshit.
[SultanKinish] Austin's Equity Office has recommended renaming the Texas city because of Stephen F. Austin's alleged views on slavery. But why stop at just renaming Austin when Amerigo Vespucci took and sold slaves.
Austin, Texas is named after Stephen F. Austin, but America is named after Amerigo Vespucci.
New York City has been on its own anti-history binge, demoting the statue of the ‘Father of Gynecology' and tearing out plaques memorializing Robert E. Lee attached to a tree that he had once planted, but it's got bigger problems. The city is named after King James II whose Royal African Company branded thousands of slaves with DY for the Duke of York.

We are not North Amerigo or United States of Amerigo. WE are America, the feminine version of the name and thus named after a transgendered version of Mr Vespuchi that should get the name a pass.
[Unz Review] Once upon a time there were two politicians.
One had the power to give media and political elites goosebumps. Still does.
The other causes the same dogs to raise their hackles.
The first is Barack Hussein Obama; the second Vladimir Putin.
The same gilded elites who choose our villains and victims for us have decided that the Russian is the worst person in the world. BHO, the media consider one of the greatest men in the world.
Obama leveled Libya and lynched its leader. Our overlords were unconcerned. They knew with certainty that Obama was destroying lives irreparably out of the goodness of his heart.
Same thing when Obama became the uncrowned king of the killer drone, murdering Pakistani, Afghani, Libyan and Yemeni civilians in their thousands. That, too, his acolytes generally justified, minimized or concealed.
In June of 2008, Obama marked his election as "the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth." Media did not mock their leader’s delusions of grandeur.
All the estrogen-oozing amoebas of mainstream media would do in response to the Obama charm offensive was to turn to one another and check, "Was it good for you? Did he make the earth move and the oceans recede for you, too?"
Recently, Obama romped on to the Third World stage "bigly." He delivered an address in this writer’s birthplace of Johannesburg, South Africa. The occasion: the centennial commemoration of Nelson Mandela’s birth.
[Atlantic] Last week, the leftist magazine Jacobin published an article arguing that "the spectacular rehabilitation of socialism as a legitimate position within American politics, particularly among young people, is one of the most significant developments for the socialist movement in decades." I maintain that those young people aren’t being told the whole story.
When I first responded last week, my focus was a passage the authors intended as an acknowledgement that what they call "socialism from above" is dangerous.
They wrote:
Socialists don’t just want to replace private ownership with state ownership. In the same way we don’t believe that capitalists should be able to have disproportionate control over economic resources, we don’t think unaccountable state officials and bureaucrats should have the power to control investment and production through ’socialism from above.’ In some cases, like the former Soviet Union, the failings of such a system are nearly as deep as those of capitalism itself."
I inveighed against the notion that the Soviet economic system, with its many epidemics of mass starvation and death, was less flawed than market capitalism. Upon reflection, the authors changed their article to better reflect their actual belief: that "in some cases, like the former Soviet Union, the failings of such a system are as clear as those of capitalism."

So, "Democratic Socialists are teh real racists!"?
People on the right have been using variations of this argument for decades now. Has it actually accomplished anything? The sad reality is that a large number (majority?) of minorities will be happy to take whatever Free Shit is on offer and if costs white taxpayers in the bargain, than so much the better.
No surprise that this is a Conor Friedersdorf article.

Is this about congratulating ourselves on how right we are, or is it about getting results?
It's about living in the real, and not a fantasy, world. As regards the results: Trump got the working class, and to hell with the "credentialed" who will stick with Democrats to keep their phony-baloney jobs.

"But-but-but the Socialists Care! And Big Business is Evil-Evil-Evil!" That's about the level of the responses I have gotten no matter the argument or facts given.... *Sigh*
[The Atlantic - amazing, I know] The Canadian psychology professor's stardom is evidence that leftism is on the decline and deeply vulnerable. His bestselling book: "12 Rules for Life" has been a cultural godsend, and it rings so true the Leftists can't argue it, so they ban, disrupt appearances, and smear

The left is afraid of Peterson because he is sane?
[Wash Times] Fox News host Laura Ingraham is again facing calls for a boycott after she lamented the country’s "massive demographic changes" due to legal and illegal immigration during her monologue Wednesday night.
"In some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore," the conservative said on her Fox News show "The Ingraham Angle."
"Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people," she continued, "and they’re changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don’t like. From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically in some ways the country has changed. Now, much of this is related to both illegal and in some cases, legal immigration that, of course, progressives love."
Ms. Ingraham then cited several stories where illegal immigrants committed heinous crimes after slipping through the cracks of the immigration system. She called on President Trump to enforce existing immigration laws, strengthen border security and build the wall.
"This is a national emergency and he must demand that Congress act now," she said. "There is something slipping away in this country and it’s not about race or ethnicity. It’s what was once a common understanding by both parties that American citizenship is a privilege, and one that at a minimum requires respect for the rule of law and loyalty to our Constitution."

Visited the Fayette, County GA. DMV yesterday. Of the nine State DMV employees present for duty, not one male or caucasian. Fayette County, GA was once a strong conservative Republican enclave which boasted one the highest per capita incomes in the State. Yes, things are certainly changing. And no, the gov't targeting of conservative voting districts is not a figment of your imagination.
