South Carolina parents left toddler home alone while on trip to New York: cops
[NY Post] Two f*cking years old!
Two South Carolina parents have been arrested this week after they allegedly left their toddler home alone while they were on a trip to New York, authorities said.

Donald Gekonge and Darline Aldrich, both 24, were booked in the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center on Monday on suspicion of unlawful conduct toward a child, WCIV reported

Police said they received a report on Nov. 17 that a toddler was alone in a Charleston apartment complex after Gekonge, the child’s father, had sent a text saying he was away in New York, WCBD reported.

When the apartment managers could not contact anyone inside the apartment, an "emergency walk-through" was carried out, cops said.

The child, 2, was found sleeping on a bed in the living room, police said.

Aside from a dirty diaper, the youngster appeared to be unharmed. EMS responders transferred him to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital for further examination.

Donald Gekonge claimed he was in New York "on business."

Initial attempts to contact Gekonge and the child’s mother, Darline Aldrich, were unsuccessful. When Gekonge eventually called the complex himself, he told an officer he left the apartment early that morning and was only "a few states away."

Gekonge later claimed he was in New York "on business," and assumed Aldrich was taking care of the toddler.

He revised his story again later, confessing that Aldrich was also in New York "for an emergency."

Darline Aldrich is currently being held on $75,000 bond.

As of Wednesday, Gekonge and Aldrich remained in jail. Aldrich is being held on $75,000 bond, while Gekonge’s amounts to $50,000.

Straight From the Horse's.... Mouth
[Epoch via Bongino] FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried granted a rare interview with independent crypto journalist Tiffany Fong. In the conversation, the elusive founder addressed a number of controversies that have surrounded him over the past few weeks, including commingling client funds, relations with Ukraine, donations to the Democratic party, and more.

I donated about the same amount to both parties," Bankman-Fried told Fong when asked about his political donations.

The crypto exchange founder’s political donations have been widely publicized in recent weeks, with numerous outlets reporting that Bankman-Fried personally donated almost $40 million to Democratic candidates ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, outdone only by Democrat mega-donor George Soros.

"All my Republican donations were dark," he said, meaning that they weren’t disclosed publicly. "And the reason was not for regulatory reasons; it’s because reporters freak the [expletive] out if you donate to a Republican because they are all super liberal.

Horrific moment US man, 21, stabs grandfather, 70, in neck hours after being freed from mental hospital - prompting cops at the scene to shoot knifeman AND his grandpa dead
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Footage showed the moment deputies in Illinois shot a man and his grandpa dead last year after the grandson stabbed the elderly man in the neck

  • Officers were called to the Joliet home in November 2021 when a family member reported Jabbar Muhammad, 21, was in an argument with Eldred Wells Sr., 70

  • The 21-year-old had just been released from a mental hospital hours before the altercation and had attempted to commit suicide about ten days prior
So it could have been just that he’s nuts, or it could have been suicide by cop.
Either way, all this could have been avoided if the authorities could have kept young Mr. Muhammad in hospital long enough to actually stabilize him. But that would require the state spending a good deal more on suicide ward beds and psychiatric staff.
  • Muhammad was experiencing a mental health crisis when police arrived and refused to put the knife down
  • Islamic Euphoria™?
  • Deputies then aimed to shoot Muhammad who had leapt toward Wells and ended up shooting both of them

Army unit accidentally tear gassed soldiers during pre-Thanksgiving morale event
[FoxNews] About 8,000 soldiers with the Army's 4th Infantry Division were accidentally tear-gassed during a physical morale event that was held the day before Thanksgiving.
Oh my!
Contact wearers and pregnant combatees worst hit!

The soldiers, participating in a physical morale event which saw them attempting to scale obstacles, run up hills, and crawl through trenches, were exposed to the tear gas without prior knowledge the chemicals would be used during the event, according to a report from Military.com Tuesday.

Leaders with the division, based at Fort Carson, Colorado, took the unusual step of marking the boundary of the course with tear gas. However, soldiers participating in the event were not warned and did not have any protective gear, such as gas masks, when the gas drifted with the wind and settled on the soldiers on the course.

"The purpose of this event was to build unit cohesion. Leaders at echelon participated in this event with Soldiers," Fort Carson spokesperson Dee McNutt said in a statement to Military.com. "The limited use of CS [gas] was not intended to interfere with the formations but to deter participants from leaving the course."

The morale event was intended to pay homage to the Vietnam War Battle of Dak To. The 4th Infantry Division participated in the battle, which saw 361 soldiers killed, though the Americans and South Vietnamese emerged victorious. claimed victory.

#1  1. One does not 'accidentally' deploy CS powder along several hundred feet of terrain. CS is considered a munition, and there is a long, long chain of people who have to sign off on using it. And if these geniuses didn't take wind into effect while deploying a chemical munition, even a training/riot control one, they need to be busted out of the Army now.

2. If there was concern about soldiers 'leaving the course', then there are far, far worse problems at FT Carson. If one cannot trust one's soldiers to go where they are told to go and stay on a directed path, 4ID may be in deep trouble.

#1  It's been 50 years since I've been on the bridge of a ship, so so of the details of the rules of the road are fuzzy.
IIRC, normally, bothe ships would turn to starboard to avoid a collision. However, in the video, there is a red buoy to the left of the USS Harper's Ferry. Red buoys indicate the edge of a channel, so the USS Momsen could not turn to starboard.
What isn't clear is how they got in that situation. Depending on where the other edge of the channel is, the Harper's Ferry might have been out of position.

#3  Mercogliano thinks it was an issue of communications.

"The ships know each was coming in and out of the port at that time. The question is, did they communicate a passage beforehand? The Momsen is not ported in San Diego, so there is a question about its familiarity with the channel," he said.

...If there was a CVN named John McCain, I'd be worried. Fortunately, there isn't. There's a DDG by that name which was involved in a truly ugly collision a 5 years ago, but hasn't had any incident since. The USN has lost several aircraft this year with one fatality, but that's it. Do you have a source on that report?

#11  Looks like the two red buoys are R16A, the first one to appear in the video, and then R16 appears toward the end of the video closer to the camera. G17 appears on the other side of the channel, off Momsen's bow, when they finally get separation. Depth perception notwithstanding, I believe there is room enough so the ships should have been able to pass without incident.

That's Shelter Island in the background.

The channel at that point widens a bit because it's bending. After the bend, it narrows. Even so, there should have been room for both of them. I don't know if the Navy assigns anyone to coordinate their ship's movements on the bay. It might be wise if they did.

I report these impressions because I have sailed recreational sail boats on that section of the bay many, many times. In my experience with Navy ships in that channel, when they give you five blasts from their horn, you damn well better get out of their way. (That may not be the literal meaning of five short blasts but it's close enough for me in my sailboat.) So I'm wondering if Momsen blew his horn or if he didn't see Harper's Ferry in time to do so. He was just coming around the bend. Further, my understanding is that if a Navy skipper pilots his ship outside the channel, it's the end of his career.

The rule is "red right on return" meaning you want the red buoys to your starboard side when you return or enter into a bay. So it appears to me that Momsen, the smaller ship entering the bay, was in the correct position. With Harper's Ferry leaving the bay, he should have been on the other side of the channel closer to green 17 so as to pass the smaller ship to port. With the edge of the channel so close to his starboard side, Momsen had no other option but to turn to his port side and leave Harper's Ferry to starboard.

Biggest Job Cuts in Decades Coming?
[Breitbart] The following is sponsored content by Stansberry Research.

Have you seen the massive number job cuts taking place right now in the tech industry?

Money manager Charlie Bilello posted a list recently, and the numbers are stunning:

Twitter is cutting 50 percent of its workforce (about 3,700 jobs).
Facebook is cutting 11,000 jobs—its largest round of layoffs ever.
Snap is cutting 20 percent of its workforce (1,200 jobs).
Shopify is cutting 10 percent of its workforce (1,000 jobs).
Netflix cut 450 jobs.
Microsoft and Salesforce are each cutting 1,000 jobs.
Robinhood is cutting 31 percent of its workforce.
Tesla is cutting 10 percent of salaried workers.
Lyft is cutting 13 percent of its workforce (700 jobs).
Redfin is cutting 13 percent of its workforce.
Coinbase is cutting 18 percent of its workforce (1,100 jobs).
Stripe is cutting 14 percent of its workforce (1,000 jobs).

And in addition to these massive cuts, Bilello says Amazon has announced a hiring freeze, Apple has paused almost all hiring, and Google is reducing new hiring by 50 percent.

But here’s the really scary part...

According to Bill Bonner, a 73-year-old ultra-successful entrepreneur whose companies employ thousands of people around the world, these layoffs are just getting started and are just the beginning.

In fact, Bonner says the next phase of this crisis is going to come from a place few people are even thinking about right now.

Bonner says what’s looming close on the horizon will catch almost everyone by surprise and could lead to some very difficult years in American history.

Every informed American should check this out.

You’re unlikely to hear this message anywhere else, and the mainstream press likely won’t report on it for many months to come, when it’s far too late.

Get the facts, and don’t get caught flat-footed. Bonner says there are 4 critical steps every American should take immediately to prepare for what’s to come.

Massive layoffs and collapsing stock prices are just the beginning.

We are in a very strange period of time in America right now, and Bonner says it’s about to get worse.

History seems to be closely repeating itself almost 100 years later.

The US coming out of a foreign war.

A wave of cultural and moral standards are in constant skew. So Congress legislatures laws to change moral foundations and adjust basic rights seeking votes and seeing $$$$$$

Staple prices jump to match the new higher wages being paid..

The world faces a pandemic and the US is hard hit.

The financial market (FTX and Fanny-Mae Freddy-Mac and etc.) is grossly mismanaged.

The Stock market goes from a BULL Market, to a BEAR Market in a few days. As stock owners dump and run. Because the F-1000 is showing signs of having ROI / P&L issues.

Inflation takes hold

Bank accounts are drained and debt is amassed.

A foreign National Socialist country (China) gains more and more power. It then seeks new territories to expand and grow. The US & World allows the national socialist country to grab surrounding land masses (Taiwan). Because the population there share many similarities.

WW-III starts with a few "incidents" here and there.

But this time, US no longer has the Industrial nor physically able population to properly gear up and fight.

It will be a short-lived Electronic and/or Nuke war.

#10  The life of a middle manager is to be underworked and overpaid

At Mr. Wife’s international Fortune 100 company they started downsizing management in the 1980s, then got increasingly serious. About fifteen years ago he was managing the responsibilities that had previously been done by three at his level, with no increase in pay. Then a decade ago he was moved to another division; as far as I know, his responsibilities were divided among those of his peers who remained.

Europe
EU To Tax Shipping Emissions
[EURACTIV] EU legislators agreed to include maritime transport within the EU’s emission trading scheme (ETS) during talks that lasted until late Tuesday evening (29 November), a move that will force ship operators to pay for their carbon emissions for the first time.

The idea of adding the maritime sector to the EU’s carbon market was first raised a decade ago, but concerns over international competitiveness slowed progress.

The ETS requires polluting industries to pay for each tonne of carbon they emit, with the aim of spurring them to embrace clean solutions.

While it is now a virtual certainty that shipping will have carbon emissions priced, the agreement on the maritime sector was only one part of a wider revision of the ETS. These negotiations will continue, with the next and potentially final talks due to take place on 16-17 December.

According to the European Parliament’s chief negotiator on the file, German lawmaker Peter Liese, the maritime agreement will lead to some 120 million tonnes of carbon savings – double that of the much-publicised EU ban on the sale of polluting vehicles.

Globally, the maritime sector is responsible for around 3% of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2019, more than 144 million tons of CO2 were attributed to maritime shipping.

Hailing the deal as historic, Liese said the legislation will not only reduce carbon, but help to improve air quality in coastal cities.

“Emission trading will force shipping companies to invest in clean technologies, otherwise they will have to pay a huge amount of money,” said Liese who is from the Conservative CDU party of former Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“And I have clear indications that shipping companies will go green – they will decarbonise and clean up their processes,” he added.

Under the deal, ships travelling within the EU will be required to pay for 100% of their emissions, while 50% of the emissions of journeys to or from a non-EU destination will be covered.

The percentage of emissions covered will increase over time, starting at 40% in 2025, moving to 70% in 2026, and reaching 100% by 2027. However, these figures “are in brackets” Liese warned, as they must be confirmed by member states during the next negotiating round.

In a departure from the European Commission’s original proposal, non-CO2 emissions, such as methane and nitrous oxide, will be included from 2026.

Negotiators also secured an earmarking for 20 million CO2 pollution credits, with funds generated by these certificates reinvested into the sector via an innovation fund.

“That will bring billions which are directly reserved, earmarked, for investment in ports and in ships,” Liese told reporters. The fund will also go towards protecting sea creatures.

The legislation will apply to all ships over 5,000 gross tonnes, leaving smaller vessels exempt. This will be reviewed by the European Commission in the coming years to ensure, that companies do not produce “4,999 gross tonne ships to get around the law,” Liese said.

Luxury yachts, typically owned by the super-rich, are exempt from the ETS agreement, though Parliamentarians hope to cover them under future legislation.

Asked whether the agreement will cause conflict with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the UN body tasked with regulating shipping, Liese said that he is “optimistic” that it will survive any IMO criticism.

It’s expensive and labout-intensive to treat chronic illness, whether mental or physical. Last I heard, Canada allows only doctors working for whatever they call their National Health Service, so the government has to pay for all that. It’s easier and cheaper to out a little extra pressure on those already unstable, encouraging them to end the need for treatment.

Olde Tyme Religion
Extinction activist wants humans to voluntarily die out: ‘Feed ‘em, don't breed ‘em'
It's working.
More on this story from a week ago.
[FoxNews] Voluntary Human Extinction Movement founder said the biosphere will 'have a chance to recover' if humanity stops procreating.

An advocate of human extinction Tuesday called on everyone to voluntarily stop having children for humanity to die out and give the biosphere a "chance to recover."

Tuesday's Dr. Phil episode focused on the ethics of procreation and the debate over overpopulation where Voluntary Human Extinction Movement founder Les Knight delivered a variety of shocking statements.

"You’re involved with an extinction movement who basically say we just need to live long and die out, we just need to ‘feed, not breed,’ is that what you say?" Dr Phil asked Knight.

"’Feed ‘em don’t breed ‘em,’ yes, that’s right, we’re not taking care of the people who are already here," Knight responded.

Knight went on to illustrate his proposition, "My plan is for everyone to think before they procreate, and if people really think about it, think it all the way through, and have the wherewithal not to procreate - which is a really big problem all over the planet - and if people think about it as you mentioned, 44% of young people are saying ‘no I don’t think I wanna do that,’ just because they’ve thought about it."

He then laid out his ideology's optimal conclusion, "And if we all stopped procreating we’ll go extinct, slowly, we'll clean up our messes as we go, and the biosphere - what’s left of it, will have a chance to recover."

He later suggested that "reproductive freedom" is "the most important thing we need today," claiming that "hundreds of millions of couples are denied their right to not procreate."

He gave one example of the difficulties people face trying to avoid procreation: "Try to get a sterilization here in America when you haven’t had kids and you’re only 22." He later added, "We’re not allowing people to not breed."

Knight, despite advocating the extinction of the human race, last week received an adoring profile in The New York Times, even being compared to the late "Mr. Rogers" of television fame.

"Tall and gentle, Mr. Knight comes across as clear-eyed and thoughtful, like a mash-up of Bill Nye and Fred Rogers. While Mr. Knight may be against the creation of more humans, he shows great compassion for the ones that already exist," the profile read.

#3  This is why homosexuality and transsexualism is being pushed so hard.

Especially among children. If they grow up thinking a man and a woman together having a family is wrong and perverted, then movements like this will have succeeded.

#4  Human procreation is harmful to the ecosystem and planet. By design, marriage encourages procreation. Same sex relationships are the key to population control and a Greener planet. Exemptions can be made for royalty, the oligarchy, and political elite.

Until 'modern medical science' is able to activate thyroid hormone within the mediobasal hypothalamus to create a government approved and regulated Human Breeding Season (human rut), anti-procreation measures must continue.

Barriers, birth control meds, illicit drug activity and voluntary compliance are little more than stopgap measures. Medical science is the ultimate answer.

Why not just offer a certain segment of the population free (forced) sterilization. Like National Socialist countries, CCP and Nazi Germany, and others have done.

But that's not enough. So the flood the country with fentanyl and they prescribe anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, ADHD meds and all manner of other toxins to suppress reproductive urges. They perform sex change operations that leave people sterile. Yes, they want us dead.

MDMA 'will be rolled out in US hospitals by 2024': Researchers will submit trial data in MONTHS and start FDA approval process ‐ after rave drug 'cured' two-thirds of PTSD patients in study
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Final trials have been completed, with an FDA application due mid next year

  • MDMA could be approved for therapeutic use just six months after that

  • Over two thirds no longer met the threshold for a PTSD diagnosis in clinical trials
The move could see MDMA offered to some of the 12 million American adults who suffer with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Also known as ecstasy or molly, the drug is popular in rave culture, where it is used to dance all night long and feel more connected to the music and other ravers.

But it has become part of a new frontier of psychedelics that are being repurposed as drugs for trauma and depression, along with ketamine, magic mushrooms and LSD.

A trial of 90 patients with severe PTSD in 2021 showed that 88 per cent went into remission after taking the drug accompanied by therapy.

The second phase 3 trial of MDMA therapy for PTSD in the US was completed this month, testing the drug on patients whose PTSD is not as severe, as well as on more people of color. Data from the trial is yet to be released.

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC) — an organization raising awareness of psychedelics — is running the trials.

A spokesperson told DailyMail.com: 'We anticipate filing our NDA in the third quarter of 2023 [July to September].

'Based on that estimated filing date we anticipate a possible approval in the second quarter of 2024 [April to June] and launch in the fourth quarter of 2024 [October to December].'

The latest study was completed ahead of schedule, meaning a New Drug Application could be submitted to the FDA by mid-2023.

The FDA's review teams could take just six months to approve the drug, meaning it could be approved as early as April 2024 and rolled out in the autumn.

The drug is likely to be given in a clinic, similar to how the trials were conducted. Participants were given 80 mg or 120 mg of MDMA — which is roughly the amount in the average ecstasy pill sold on the street.

Current treatments for PTSD include harsh antidepressants which suppress the immune system and cause a range of side effects, as well as some talking therapies. While these drugs can help, they are not very effective in patients with severe PTSD, and the results fade over time.

MDMA is thought to rewire connections in the brain, dampening the part that makes people scared, allowing them to open up with a therapist and face their trauma head on, instead of burying it. The psychedelic also quietens the amygdala — the fear center in the brain — so that people can rationalize their trauma and comprehend that they survived it.

Some 90 patients took part in the first phase 3 trial, and were randomly assigned to receive MDMA assisted therapy or a placebo, along with 12 therapy sessions.

A letter in May from the US Department of Health and Human Services reinforced the FDA's 'anticipated approval' of psychedelic therapies 'within approximately 24 months'.

PTSD can occur after a distressing event, and can cause flashbacks, nightmares and intense anxiety. The disorder affects 12 million adults in the US every year, and roughly six per cent of the population will have it at some point in their life.

Using cannabis no better than placebo for treating pain, study shows
[StudyFinds] Marijuana appears to have the same pain-relieving effect as a placebo — or fake pill. However, researchers say media outlets continue to cover these medical trials about cannabis-based therapies positively, regardless of the outcomes.

The findings come from a review of 20 clinical studies which examined the pain-relieving benefits of using marijuana involving more than 1,500 participants. Although previous studies have claimed that cannabis may help patients manage chronic pain, researchers from the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden found that those taking placebos experienced the same level of pain relief as those consuming active cannabinoid substances.

The study is published in JAMA Network Open.

More Republicans Died Than Democrats after COVID-19 Vaccines Came Out
[NextGov] A new study looks at excess deaths by partisan affiliation in two states during the pandemic.

Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, public health officials have warned that some of us are at higher risk of severe outcomes from the virus, due to factors such as age or preexisting medical conditions.

The new research points to another factor that puts people at greater risk of dying from COVID-19: party affiliation.

The study finds that excess deaths during the pandemic were 76% higher among Republicans than Democrats in two states, Ohio and Florida.

What’s more, the partisan gap in death rates increased significantly after vaccines were introduced.

The research was conducted by Yale University School of Management’s Paul Goldsmith-Pinkham and Jacob Wallace and Jason L. Schwartz of the Yale School of Public Health.

To Goldsmith-Pinkham, the sharp divergence in excess death rates that emerged in the post-vaccine period "is pretty striking... and the magnitudes are quite large." While the research doesn’t definitively prove that low vaccine uptake among Republicans explains the mortality gap, "it points to this as a potential mechanism."
