It provided no further details, referring identification to the soldier's national authorities.
The soldier's death brings the number of coalition troops killed this year to 245.

The term "captured" and "POW" are no longer used. Personnel are now "detained" by ISAF if, if, if there is enough evidence to warrant detainment. Interrogation follows detainment. If they have been detained previously and registered in the biometric program (identification system), their activities are weighed against previous activities and their status on the 'bad guy' list. A determination (by lawyers) is made regarding their future status, ie, furture detainment and eventual trial, or release. [Dawn] Bomb blasts and a rocket attack have killed 11 civilians including at least four children in the space of 24 hours in southern Afghanistan, officials said Saturday.

"All six civilians on board were killed and their vehicle was destroyed," he said.

[An Nahar] The speaker of the legislature in Sudan's war-torn South Kordofan state has been killed in an ambush along with seven other people, official media reported, as rebels in the region denied any involvement.
Ibrahim Balandiya died in the attack on Friday in Habila district of the state's north, the official SUNA news agency reported.
The other "deaders" included Faisal Bashir, secretary-general of the strategic planning council, drivers and a photographer, SUNA reported, blaming the Sudan People's Liberation Movement.
But the rebels on Saturday told Agence La Belle France Presse they had "no relation with that" ambush.
"Maybe there is conflict within the NCP (which) could be a motivation behind that incident," said Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, front man for the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).
He was referring to the ruling National Congress Party.
Ethnic bully boyz of the SPLM-N fought alongside southern rebels during Sudan's 22-year civil war, which ended in a 2005 peace deal and South Sudan's independence on July 9 last year.
Sudan accuses South Sudan of supporting the SPLM-N, a charge which foreign analysts believe despite denials by the government in Juba.
Fighting erupted in South Kordofan after the SPLM-N alleged fraud in elections and its armed wing was ordered to move into South Sudan.
A similar war began last September in Blue Nile state.
More than 200,000 refugees from South Kordofan and Blue Nile have crossed into South Sudan and Æthiopia, and thousands more "in a desperate state" are following each day, U.N. emergency relief coordinator Valerie Amos said in late June.
The government, citing security factors, has tightly controlled access by foreign agencies to both states although it says it accepts a plan put together by the U.N., African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... and Arab League ...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing... for aid to reach South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
But Amos said the Khartoum government "has laid out operational conditions that do not allow for the delivery of assistance by neutral parties in SPLM-N controlled areas."
Last year the SPLM-N joined bully boyz from the Darfur region in a Revolutionary Front aimed at overthrowing the Khartoum regime.

It was originally the youth movement of the Islamic Courts, now pretty much all of what's left of it. They are aligned with al-Qaeda but operate more like the Afghan or Pakistani Taliban... 's leader and co-ordinator forKenya, and Abdikadir 'Ikrima' Mohammed, an Al-Qaeda commander of imported muscle in Somalia.
It is not clear when and how the six entered the country from Somalia, where Al-Shabaab imported muscle are on the run from African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... and Transitional Federal Government forces.
"Their goal is to create religious conflict," a high-placed security source told The Standard On Saturday on condition of anonymity. "After the Garissa attacks, they plan to attack mosques and burn copies of the Koran."
Security reports name the six Kenyans as Ali, Ikrima, Kahale Famau Kahale (Abdulghafur Ahmed), Eric Achayo Oganda (Ibra), Juma Otit Ayub Were and Athumani Ahmed. Security officials have released photographs and other personal details to help identify the terror suspects.
Sources familiar with their alleged plot say the mosque attacks are meant to seem like Dire Revenge for the killings of 17 people on July 1 in raids on two churches in Garissa.
Sources claim the bully boyz believe conditions in Kenya are ripe for religious and ethnic divisions.
"Some of the weaknesses they have identified include tribalism and Kenyans' apathy towards security machinery," the report states.

(Sh.M.Network)- Iranian Navy forces foiled a pirate attack on a Singaporean cargo vessel in theRed Seaafter a series of heavy armed festivities with pirates.
The Iranian Navy's 20th fleet of warships present in the region rushed to the scene after the Singaporean vessel asked for help and announced that it has come under a pirate attack as sailing through the Babel-Mandeb Strait.
The Iranian forces managed to save the vessel and forced the pirates to escape the scene after heavy arm festivities. In a similar incident, the Iranian Navy warships also saved an Iranian oil tanker last week.
The Iranian Navy dispatched several fleets of warships to the Gulf of Aden and North of theIndian Oceanto protect the country's cargo ships and oil tankers against pirates.
The Iranian Navy has been conducting anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden since November 2008, when Somali raiders hijacked the Iranian-chartered cargo ship, MV Delight, off the coast of Yemen.
According to UN Security Council resolutions, different countries can send their warships to the Gulf of Aden and coastal waters of Somalia against the pirates and even with prior notice to Somali government enter the territorial waters of that country in pursuit of Somali sea pirates.
The Gulf of Aden -- which links the Indian Ocean with the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea -- is an important energy corridor, particularly because Persian Gulf oil is shipped to the West through the Suez Canal.

During one-day search operation, the allied forces are reportedly took into custody more than 150 people aged between 15 and 25 in connection with Al shabab krazed killers, according to Sandheere Mohamed Iftinshe, the deputy district commissioner of Baidoa for Somali government.
"At least 150 Al shabab suspects are now being held in the central prison of Baidoa following the operations. They were captured over killings and robbery acts, and we are proud of that move. We will put them into the justice soon," he added.
Baidoa is a city in south-central Somalia, situated 256 kilometers (159 mi) northwest of the capital Mogadishu. It is the capital of the Bay region.

Abdiqadir Omar Abdulle better known as (Quarrel), who works for Universal television, was injured in front of his home in Mogadishu's Wadajir district, when two gunnies armed with pistols fired several bullets at Mr. Abdulle, hitting one on his leg and the other in his stomach.

(Sh. M. Network)- Unknown Assailants in Mogadishu shot to death a Somali government soldier, the latest in series of shooting and hit and run attacks in the capital against troops serving with TFG, Witnesses said on Saturday.
The soldier has been killed by unknown gang with pistols, who attacked the soldier as he was collecting tax from shopping centers in Labo-dhagax neighborhood in Mogadishu's Wardhigley district, according to the eyewitness.
Reports said that the attackers have managed to escape from the shooting scene safely before Somali government soldiers reached. No one was imprisoned for the murder of the soldier during the operation which is yet underway the area.

A former al-Qaeda leader extradited to Mauritania in April after being tossed in the calaboose Please don't kill me! in Iran in 2002 has been released from custody, his family said Saturday.
Mahfoud Ould Waled was freed Thursday, a family member told Agence La Belle France Presse.
Waled was one of the top muftis (interpreters of Islamic law) with the Taliban when they were in power in Afghanistan.
He was said to be close to al-Qaeda founder the late Osama bin Laden ... who has won the race to that place where we all eventually end up... , who was killed last year in Pakistain, until the time of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
According to an expert on the case, Waled argued the attacks were illegal under to Sharia Islamic law.
Waled fled to Iran after the invasion of Afghanistan by U.S. forces in late 2001.
During his detention in Mauritania, Waled met with several foreign delegations, including from the U.S., who wanted to learn more about Islamist motivations, the family member said.
Waled arrived in the Mauritania capital Nouakchott on April 5. According to a Mauritanian security official, his return to the West African nation was permitted after he publicly renounced his jihadist beliefs.
The group al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, which pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda in 2006, has been active in North Africa for several years, notably in Mauritania, where it has kidnapped several westerners.

[An Nahar] Hundreds of protesters in Libya's eastern city of Benghazi on Saturday burned ballots to demand greater representation as Libyans went to the polls in historic nationwide elections.
But reflecting the large support in the Mediterranean city for the country's first free ballot in decades, voters flocked to the main road along the seafront by early evening, waving Libyan flags and chanting pro-election slogans.
"Sorry, sorry federalists, you have lost!" they shouted, on the road where hundreds had gathered after casting their vote for a national assembly.
"Hold your fingers high, you are free Libyans!" they chanted, waving their ink-stained fingers.
Earlier in the day, gunfire rang out after around 200 demonstrators filled a nearby square in Libya's second city, the cradle of last year's revolt that ousted dictator Muammar Qadaffy ... one of those little rainstorms from the Arab Spring... They were encircled by cars belonging to supporters of the election and later by at least a dozen military vehicles whose forces had gun sex in a show of strength.
But after the armed forces left, protesters attacked the civilian cars, damaging several.
"We are the ones who started the rebellion and now nobody is bothered about us. Nobody wants to talk to us. All we are asking for is a proper democratic process," said one demonstrator, calling himself Fuad al-Obeidi.
"Let the constitution be written first then hold the elections with equal number of seats for every region. I have boycotted the election along with my family," the 32-year-old government employee told Agence La Belle France Presse.
Abduljawad Shadwan, a 49-year-old lecturer who supports the election, condemned the protesters.
"I can understand their views but this is not the right way. We are building a new Libya and actions like these only deny the building of a new country," said Shadwan.
"But this will not stop the progress of Libya. The result of the election will be unprecedented. It will be historic."
Elsewhere, gunnies attacked a polling station at Tulay Tala school in Benghazi Jadida, a southwestern district, destroying ballot boxes and firing into the air before fleeing, witnesses said.
"Around 60 men and some women stormed the school at around 1:00 pm (11:00 GMT) before breaking the ballot boxes and stealing some election material," said Ahmed Saleh, an election observer at the school.
"Some gunnieshad gun sex. Some bullets hit the school building, shattering the glass. They were chanting 'holy shit! Allahu akbar' (God is greatest)," he told AFP.
Earlier, voting was also marred by attacks by protesters calling for greater representation at one polling centre in the city and some other parts of eastern Libya.
They forced the closure of several polling stations outside Benghazi, but failed to dampen the enthusiasm of most of the city's residents.
"I am voting today for a new Libya which we will create from the blood shed by our deaders," said Abdel Jalil Mansur, who works at Benghazi airport.
"The blood of our deaders will not go to waste," he said at Al-Hurriyah polling station in central Benghazi, carrying his five-year-old daughter Arwa, draped in the new Libyan flag.
Hueida Abdul Sheikh, a 47-year-old mother, hoped her vote would help build a better future.
"I feel like my life has been wasted so far but now my children will have a better life. All they need is a push, and I believe the new leaders will give that push so that children can achieve their ambitions," she said.
Benghazi was the first city to rebel against the Qadaffy regime, with protesters, inspired by the Arab Spring uprising in neighboring Egypt and Tunisia, pouring onto the streets in February 2011.
That initial protest spread rapidly to engulf the entire country, ending with the capture and killing of Qadaffy on October 20 after a revolt bolstered by NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis.... air power.
On Saturday, groups of young men with machineguns patrolled near polling stations, offering what they said was "protection to voters and voting centers."

Explosions and gunfire rocked the city, the capital of Yobe State on Friday, in the latest clampdown by the military Joint Task Force (JTF) on members of the sect, they said.
"We received the body of a young man killed in a raid on a suspected Boko Haram hideout by the JTF last night," a source at the Damaturu special hospital who asked not to be identified, told Agence La Belle France Presse.
The body, brought in by soldiers, had been riddled with gunshot wounds, said the source.
Residents also said Friday's incident had been a military raid on a Boko Haram base.
"The house was suspected to be a hideout of Boko Haram," one resident told AFP.
"We don't know the number of casualties because we are inside the house at the time of the incident."
State police front man Gbadegeshin Toyin told AFP late Friday: "There have been huge kabooms and sporadic gunfire around (the) Shagari Low Cost area of the city.
"We still don't have details of what is going on but we have alerted our men to confront any eventuality," he said.
Damaturu, which is near Boko Haram's base of Maiduguri, is under a dusk until dawn curfew following running battles between troops and Islamists last month.
Nigeria's radical Islamists have repeatedly attacked the city, typically targeting the security services. A special joint police-armed forces unit meanwhile has started raiding suspected Boko Haram hideouts.

[An Nahar] Gunmen killed several people in an attack on two Christian villages in central Nigeria's Plateau State early Saturday, officials said.
Although police and army front man could not give an exact toll, one politician said at least 23 people had been killed and blamed Mohammedan herdsmen for the attacks.
The army said the first attack on Kankuru village near the flashpoint state capital of Jos happened around 7:00 am.
"Presently the casualty figures are not yet known. But there are casualties," Captain Salisu Mustapha, a front man for the military special task force deployed in the region, told Agence La Belle France Presse.
A second village, Kushen, had also been attacked, he added.
Around 200 attackers, armed with guns and machetes, had stormed the mainly Christian villages. They were suspected to be Mohammedan herdsmen from the Fulani tribe.
The military had moved into the area to try to contain the violence, he added.
Plateau state police front man Emmanuel Abuh said his men were also patrolling there and that the fighting was still going on.
"It's premature to give a corpse count. I can tell you that a number of people has been killed and the situation is still tense," he added.
Simon Mwadkwon, a politician representing the area in the federal House of Representatives in Nigeria's capital Abuja, said at least 23 people had been killed in the two villages.
"Eight people were killed at Kankuru village and over 15 were killed at Kushen village," he said, blaming the nomadic Fulanis.
But he had not seen the bodies of those killed, he said. No independent verification was available.
Jos and its environs have seen a wave of sectarian and communal festivities in recent years, leaving thousands dead.

[Yemen Post] At least two people were killed and six others injured in the festivities between the central security forces and protesters who erupted into the streets in Yemen's port city of Aden on the anniversary of the July 7th 1994, Almasdar Online reported, quoting eyewitnesses on Saturday. Fans of the Southern Movement, Harak, held the demonstration on the anniversary of the 1994 civil war, which erupted after the south sought separation few years after the reunification with the north.
Clashes were continuing and the situation was tense in the Mansoura district, where the authorities have recently tightened security and deployed security reinforcements to control the situation.
"The festivities erupted near the martyr square in the district and central security forces and snipers on the rooftops of buildings fired at the demonstrators," the website quoted leaders in Harak as saying.
Security officials, however, accused gunnies of firing at the forces forcing them to respond, according to the website.
Security forces have been deployed to this area within the preparations to prevent possible violence on the anniversary.
More recently, the authorities imposed a security cordon around the Aden city, amid reports of alarming security disorders and arms spread in this city.
In Sanaa and other Yemeni cities demonstrations were held in support of the south cause. Slogans were chanted in Sanaa such as: the south cause is ours. Demonstrators also demanded the government to handle this issue fairly because it is the entry to solving the country's problems. Since 2007, Harak has been struggling to shed the light on the dilemma of the south including demands of injustice, looting properties and firing military and civil officials after the war.
Seeking the separation of the south, however, remains the highest demand, which is seen as a roadblock to a comprehensive national dialogue expected in the coming few months under a West-backed power-transfer deal.

The demonstration, which started in the eastern city of Lahore, was organized by the Difah-e-Pakistain Council -- Defense of Pakistain Council -- a group of politicians and religious leaders who have been the most vocal opponents of the supply line. What's actually significant about the DFC is who's not in the alliance. Fazl and his JUI-F aren't involved. Nor is PML-N and the Sharifs. Nor is Imran Khan and his party if lightweights. Samiul 'Mullah Sandwich' Haq is the putative head cheese and the Jamaat-e-Islami is on board, as we'd expect. Hamid Gul's present for duty, as are a bunch of other Islamist hacks. The real driver, I think, is Hafiz Saeed's Jamaat-ud-Dawa, which is a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is co-owned by ISI and al-Qaeda.
Pakistain closed the route in November in retaliation for American Arclight airstrikes that killed 24 Pak troops. After months of negotiations, Islamabad finally agreed to reopen the route last week after U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton ... sometimes described as The Woman to Call at 3 a.m. and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Dean Acheson ... apologized for the deaths. One of the reasons Pakistain waited so long to resolve the conflict is that the government was worried about domestic backlash in a country where anti-American sentiment is rampant despite billions of dollars in U.S. aid over the last decade. That's what I just said, isn't it?
The protest started Sunday in the center of Lahore, where several thousand people assembled with scores of buses, cars and cycle of violences. The crowd was dominated by members of Jamaat-ud-Dawa ...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba... , widely believed to be a front group for Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is blamed for the attacks in the Indian city of Mumbai in 2008 that killed more than 160 people. Jamaat-ud-Dawa is led by the group's founder, Saeed.
"The movement that has been started to reverse the government's decision to restore the NATO supply will go on until America leaves this region for good," Saeed said in a speech on the outskirts of Lahore. "The mission is noble because it is to save the country and the nation from slavery."
The U.S. announced a $10 million bounty earlier this year for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Saeed, but he operates freely in the country. Pakistain says it doesn't have enough evidence to arrest Saeed, but many suspect the government is reluctant to move against him and other myrmidon leaders because they have longstanding ties with the country's military and intelligence service.

Difah-e-Pakistain is widely believed to be supported by the Mighty Pak Army as a way to put pressure on the U.S. Its leaders have vowed to stop NATO trucks from making the journey from the southern port city of Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It may be the largest city in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... to the Afghan border. But if the group has army backing, it could moderate its actions.
Although the army was outraged by the U.S. attack on its troops, which Washington said was an accident, it was eager to repair the relationship to free up more than $1 billion in military aid that had been frozen for the past year.
The U.S. waited so long to apologize in part because the B.O. regime was apparently worried such a move would expose it to criticism from Republicans in a presidential election year. Many U.S. officials and politicians harbor deep suspicions of Pakistain, citing the country's alleged support for hard boyz fighting U.S. troops in neighboring Afghanistan.
While the supply line through Pakistain was closed, the U.S. was forced to rely on a longer, more costly route that runs into Afghanistan through Central Asia. The route cost the U.S. an extra $100 million per month.
The U.S. also wanted to resolve the conflict because it needs Pakistain's help to strike a peace deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan so that American troops can withdraw without the country descending into further chaos. Pakistain is seen as key to an agreement because of its strong historical ties with the Taliban and its allies.

Gunmen on motorcycles opened fire at a roadside barroadhousespeakeasy restaurant in southwestern Pakistan on Friday, killing 18 people, officials said. The people killed in the restaurant attack in the remote town of Turbat in Baluchistan province were Pakistanis travelling with smugglers to Europe through neighboring Iran, said Abdul Razzaq, a government official in the area. Two people were also wounded, he said.
It's unclear what motivated the attack. Baluchistan regularly experiences violence from both Islamist militants and nationalists who demand a greater share of the province's natural resources.
"Motorcycle riding gunmen stopped their vehicles and forced them to come out with their hands up. 18 people have been killed and two were injured," Mohammad Aslam Tarin, a senior government official told AFP.
The incident took place in the far-flung Kechh district, some 1250 kms (780 miles) southwest of Quetta, the main town of of Pakistan's insurgency hit Baluchistan province, close to the Iranian border.
"We have started investigating but the motive of the attack is still unclear," Tarin said, adding that rescue teams have been sent to the area to recover the dead bodies. Gunmen managed to flee the scene, he added.

An eight-year old boy was killed and several others were maimed by sporadic firing by unidentified cut-throats in Orangi Town. There are also reports of firing incidents from P.I.B Colony injuring at least three people there.

Baghdad has begun to amass troops along the Syrian border amid reports that fighters from al Qaeda's Iraqi faction are looking to gain a foothold in Syria. Iraqi foreign minister Hoshiyar Zebari told reporters on Thursday that armed "operational officers" from al Qaeda in Iraq appeared to be moving into Syria via established smuggling routes along the Iraqi-Syrian border.
"We have solid information and intelligence that members of al Qaeda terrorist networks have gone in the other direction, to Syria, to help, to liaise, to carry out terrorist attacks," Zebari said during a briefing in Baghdad. "Most of the suicide bombers, foreign fighters, elements of al Qaeda used to slip into Iraq from Syria. So they know the routes and the connections."
Al Qaeda fighters regularly passed through Syria on their way to Iraq to support the anti-American insurgency during the most violent years of the Iraq war. As a result, Baghdad has deployed hundreds of Iraqi national security forces to the country's 400-mile border with Syria, making it the most heavily guarded Iraqi frontier, according to Reuters.
The terror group's Iraqi cell has experienced a resurgence in the past few months, spurred on by the growing violence in Syria. Should al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) be able to establish a stable presence inside Syria, the current wave of violence inside Iraq could get much worse, Zebari warned.
"This is our main concern -- about the spillover, about extremist groups taking root in neighboring countries, to have a base," he said.
The Defense Department confirmed in May that elements of al Qaeda in Iraq were on the ground in Syria, but has no proof that members have infiltrated the ranks of Syrian rebel forces. The threat of Syrian rebel forces being co-opted by terror groups like al Qaeda has been the main crux of the Pentagon's argument against providing arms and military support to the rebellion.
[An Nahar] Israelis and Paleostinians clashed near the West Bank settlement of Itamar on Saturday but the two sides gave conflicting accounts of the incident.
Paleostinian security officials said that settlers attacked Paleostinian shepherds from the neighboring village of Yanun, south of Nablus, and stabbed five of their sheep to death.
They said that Israeli troops who arrived at the scene joined the settlers in opening rifle fire on the Paleostinians, wounding one seriously and two moderately.
An army spokeswoman said no Paleostinian was maimed by live fire, adding that soldiers employed "riot dispersal means" to separate the sides, usually a reference to tear gas or rubber bullets.

One soldier was killed and three others seriously injured when a bomb planted in a road in Narathiwat province exploded yesterday morning.
A pickup truck carrying four soldiers was travelling along the road when the bomb went off at about 11:40 a.m. The impact of the blast left a crater in the middle of the road about one meter deep and two meters wide. Fragments of the explosive were scattered across the road.
Sgt Maj Suparb Satenok, the team leader, was killed and three other soldiers sustained serious injuries.
Police said the 20-kg bomb, packed in a fire extinguisher, was set off by batteries connected to an electric wire.
Shortly before the blast, a military patrol team arrested two suspected terrorists insurgents in a nearby district after a sack containing a home-made bomb was taken from one of them.
The 10-member patrol team spotted a man carrying a fertiliser bag acting suspiciously at about 11:30 a.m. The team found a 10-kg home-made bomb in a metal box inside the bag.
The man, identified later as Abddulhakam Jaema, 23, told the soldiers he was travelling with a friend on a motorcycle, but his tire blew out. His friend took the motorcycle to a mechanic and he was waiting for him to return.
About 20 minutes later, the friend returned on the motorcycle and was arrested. The second suspect was identified as Muhammad Sainung Yunu, 20, a student at an Islamic school in Pattani province.
Syria's navy staged live fire exercises at the weekend, launching missiles from both sea and land to "simulate the scenario of repelling a sudden attack from the sea," the state news agency said. ... and if you can't believe the state news agency who can you believe? on Sunday.
"The navy carried out the training successfully, repelling the hypothetical attack and hitting the given targets with high precision," SANA reported.

A guy shooting an AK off the back of a fishing boat?
(SANA) Terrorists Mustafa Sharrouf and Sobhi Aswad confessed to smuggling gunnies and various types of weapons from Turkey to Syria, and that one of them received weapon training from Turkish security forces at the so-called refugee camps.
In confessions broadcast by the Syrian TV on Saturday, Sharrouf, a 22 year-old Idleb native, said that he and his cousin Alaa Sharrouf and Samer Bakkoure smuggle weapons from Turkey to Syria and smuggling people into Turkey from Syria.
Sharrouf said that a man called Mohammad al-Tabak asked his cousin to provide him with weapons, so they sold him 12 pump-action shotguns with 18 boxes or rounds, and 11 PKC machineguns with its ammo.
Later, while on a smuggling run to bring more weapons for al-Tabak, the Death Eaters were tossed in the calaboose Please don't kill me! by the Turkish police who sent them to a "refugee camp" in Yayladagi, and there they were distributed among groups, with Sharrouf's group numbering around 50.
Sharrouf and his group were trained to use firearms by Turkish officers, then after 25 days he and his cohorts were released and returned to smuggling, bringing al-Tabak anti-air missiles, 6 sniper rifles, 5 machineguns, 10 automatic rifles, 30 grenades, and military uniforms. Their last weapon shipment before being tossed in the calaboose Please don't kill me! consisted of 11 automatic rifles and 18 pump-action shotguns.
For his part, terrorist Aswad, born in 1980, said he started off smuggling fuel and cows into Turkey with a man called Hussam al-Shahoud, and then they moved on to smuggling weapons after striking a deal with a man in Turkey called Suheil Karadabasht who transported weapons to the Turkish side of the borders, while Aswad and al-Shahoud brought them into Syria through Orontes River and stored them in the latter's basement.
Aswad said that the weapons then were distributed among terrorist groups by a man called Abdelkader Hajjar and his brothers.
He went on to say that he visited his cousin who lives in Izmir and works in Antioch, and the latter took him to a camp in Rihaniya, where he met people who warned him that visiting the camp was dangerous because he could be tossed in the calaboose Please don't kill me! by the Turkish security forces and transported to a shelter in Antioch, and they expressed regret over coming to the camp as the Turkish security forces abuse and mistreat them and prevent them from returning to Syria or leaving the camp.
Aswad said that he also visited the camp in Yayladagi, which had a hospital nearby along with a training camp where gunnies from Syria were trained.

Although relatively close to Damascus in distance, Aleppans regard Damascenes as country cousins... province on Saturday, as at least 19 people were killed in violence across Syria, monitors said.
"Regime forces are attempting to regain control over this (Aleppo) region, where they suffered heavy casualties over the past months to rebels," the the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, adding that the bombardment killed a civilian and maimed dozens in the town of Qabtan al-Jabal.
"A large number of families have been displaced from the area for fear of shelling and lack of water, electricity and medical services," the watchdog added of the attacks in the Northern Province.
Two rebels and five soldiers were killed near the town of Andan in festivities and an attack on an army vehicle.
Districts of the central city of Homs, under army bombardment for more than a month, were also being shelled on Saturday.
The Syrian General Revolutionary Authority said the shelling intensified through the night in the Old Homs neighborhood and Hamidiyeh, where "many people were buried under the rubble" of a collapsed building.
Elsewhere in central Syria, three people were killed in a Hama village in indiscriminate shooting by regime forces, the Britannia-based Observatory reported.
In Damascus ...Capital of the last remaining Baathist regime in the world... , regime forces clashed with rebels and stormed the neighborhood of Barzeh, attempting to break a strike, while a taxi driver was rubbed out in the same area.
The Local Coordination Committees, made up of anti-regime activists on the ground, reported general strikes in areas in and around the capital to honour those killed in the anti-regime uprising.
It said that "strikes in the souks of Medhat Pasha, Hareeqa and Hamidiyeh" were put down by regime troops who "broke the locks of the shops to force the owners to end the strike."
Outside the capital, the Observatory reported one person killed in Tadamun by regime forces, who renewed shelling on the Damascus suburbs of Sayyida Zeinab and Harasta.
One person was killed in the eastern city of Deir al-Zour by gunfire, while two more non-combatants were killed in the southern province of Daraa and in northwest Idlib province by regime forces.
The Observatory said 93 people, mostly civilians, were killed across Syria on Friday as protesters erupted into the streets in several provinces after being urged to call for a "People's liberation war."

[An Nahar] Three people were killed and another seven injured on Saturday as shells and Rocket Propelled Grenades landed on the northern area of Wadi Khaled from the Syrian side of the border, the National News Agency reported.
NNA said gunfire erupted near the northern and northeastern border with Leb between Syrian troops and gunnies at dawn and was followed by intense shelling.
Two Syrians were killed and two others injured when an RPG hit a center for refugees in the town of al-Hishe before noon.
More than 20 shells had reached Lebanese villages in Wadi Khaled between 1:15 am and 3:00 am which left 19-year-old Nadia al-Oaishi dead in al-Mhatta neighborhood and two children Ahmed and Mustafa al-Makhal injured, NNA said.
The daughters of a man identified as Berri Shehade in the town of al-Awade were also injured after their house was hit with shells.
Around seven shells landed on the village of al-Kalkha, where a child identified as Abir Ali al-Makhal was maimed. The town's mosque was also hit with a Hawn.
President Michel Suleiman ...before assuming office as President, he held the position of commander of the Leb Armed Forces. That was after the previous commander, the loathesome Emile Lahoud, took office as president in November of 1998. Likely the next president of Leb will be whoever's commander of the armed forces, too... expressed remorse for the victims in Wadi Khaled and contacted the competent agencies to be briefed on the results of the investigations.
He demanded the security agencies to take all the necessary measures to prevent civilian casualties at all costs.
"The security and safety of citizens are a priority," he added.
The new security situation caused panic among Wadi Khaled residents who moved to areas and towns away from the Syrian border. By 5:00 am there was cautious calm in the area, the news agency said.
The army's general command said the military was put on a high state of alert and took extra security measures in the area following the incidents.
It also said the army took the necessary measures to resolve any violation of the Lebanese-Syrian border.
The army later issued a statement confirming the death of a child in al-Hishe while her father, brothers and two other relatives were seriously injured when a suspected body went kaboom! near the house of a citizen.
"At 11:20 on Saturday a suspicious object went kaboom! near the house of a citizen in al-Hishe leading to the death of a child while her father, two brothers and two other relatives were seriously injured," the statement said.
It added that "immediately an army unit arrived and cordoned off the scene, and launched a probe into the incident."
There have been several incidents of cross-border shooting or shelling in addition to infiltration of Syrian troops and kidnapping of Lebanese in the past months which have killed and maimed people inside Leb.

Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize for something or other that probably sounded good at the time. In December 2004, reports surfaced that Kofi's son Kojo received payments from the Swiss company Cotecna, which had won a lucrative contract under the UN Oil-for-Food Program. Kofi Annan called for an investigation to look into the allegations, which stirred up the expected cesspool but couldn't seem to come up with enough evidence to indict Kofi himself, or even Kojo... acknowledged the failure so far of his mission to bring peace to Syria.
In comments published in French by the Le Monde newspaper, Annan was quoted as saying that significant efforts had been made to try to resolve the crisis peacefully and politically.
However, by candlelight every wench is handsome... the plan had not been successful and perhaps there was no guarantee that it would succeed, he said.
The Annan plan, which insists on a cessation of violence by all sides, has made little headway, and activists say at least an estimated 16,500 people have now died since the uprising began in March last year.
