Jubaland forces whack Federale in Kismayo
Today, the forces of the Jubba Interim Adminstration were rumoured to have killed an official named Macalin Abuukar working for the administration's military in Kismayo .

This official's death was said to come after a disagreement for the past few days between the officials and the Jubba Interim Administration's leaders on the killing of Isse Mohamed Kamboni who was the Chief of the JIA Peacekeepers.

After the killing, operation crackdowns were conducted by Jubba's military forces although they have not yet reprimanded the soldiers who killed Macalin Abuukar.

Up until now, there have been no comments from the administration linked to the killing of the official in Kismayo.

Shaboobs refuse to negotiate with Federal Govt
Al Shabab spokesman Shiekh Ali Dheere has dismissed in an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera hopes that the December appointment of Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed as the new prime minister of Somalia would lead to negotiations between the government and the al-Qaeda-linked group.

Al Shabab’s Sheikh Ali Dheere said, “The people we are fighting with is because of ideology. They want to colonise us. They want to erase our religion, our people and our land. Those people bring a new face every time. Every new person that comes into office works for them. So for that reason, they are no different to us. Whomever the Christians bring, no matter their name or background, we will not negotiate with them because they have no decision-making powers. They have no powers to refuse or accept anything. What you lose by force you return by force. We will not negotiate with anyone. The country is ours.”

al-Shabab was pushed out of Mogadishu in mid-2011 but in the last few weeks has claimed responsibility for a series of suicide bomb attacks, as well as Friday’s unsuccessful attack on the presidential compound.

When challenged about the civilian casualties involved, Dheere said, “Anyone who works for the apostate government, no matter where and at what level, they are supporting the apostates and the Christians who sent them. Our stand is clear is on such people. We will fight them and kill them anywhere we see them. Anyone who supports the Christians, either through the pen or by carrying a weapon, they are the same to us and we will kill them… We don’t kill civilians who don’t work for the apostate government. We protect them. We do not harm them.”

Dheere said al-Shabab is also targeting Turkish nationals working in Somalia. “We want to tell the Turkish people their government is an enemy to the existence of the people, the country and the religion of the people of Somalia… Them building roads, schools and hospitals is similar to a man who wants to slaughter a goat. If he feeds that goat, is it any good to that goat? He is going to slaughter it anyways. The schools they have built, they teach our Somali children bad behavior; they teach them music; they teach them everything that is bad for them.

“The biggest enemy of the Muslim people is NATO and Turkey is part of NATO. NATO is a union of Christians. They are the number one supporters of that union. NATO uses Turkey as the hammer that’s used to crush Muslims. They first came into the country saying they are here to help the people. They then start saying there is military agreement between them and the apostates and AMISOM. They train the intelligence services. They have taken off the shirt they were wearing when they came in and put on another one. Anywhere we see Turkish people, they are no different to us than the Americans, the British and AMISOM.”

According to Dheere, al-Shabab is fighting for the Muslims who live in Mogadishu. “They are the people whom we want to free from the enemy. We take great care in protecting them. We don’t just go and blow a place up or fire bullets aimlessly. There is a lot of intelligence before an operation. We only attack a place when we are sure the people in there are the apostates, the Christians and those that support them.”

He admitted there may be Muslim casualties. “We pray for that Muslim person and the martyr who carried out the operation to go to paradise. Also we have warned the Muslim people not to go close to apostate bases and where the Christians are. Most of the population has heeded our warning.”

He denied that al-Shabab has been pushed out of many towns in Somalia. “The towns you mentioned that al-Shabab left, we did not leave because of a military defeat. If an army is defeated, their weapons are seized, their soldiers are killed, their deaths publicized. None of that happened. That shows al-Shabab left those towns on their own accord. al-Shabab leaving those towns only shows a change of tactics. al-Shabab will not be finished. Somalia belongs to al-Shabab. The land and the people are ours. We will not leave our land because of an enemy. We hope to be back in those towns as soon as possible.”

The Kenyan government has claimed that the Westgate Mall attackers are dead, which Dheere questioned. “All that Kenya said, nothing is believable. Nothing of what they said is true. Look at how many times they went back on what they said. They first said there were 18 individuals in the mall. Then they said they were 15. Another time they said they were 4. Another time they said a woman was leading them. They said they were all dead. Another time they said they were alive. Even when people could hear the bullets, they were saying the fighting was over. That shows what they say has no basis. It is not something anyone can believe. In our own time we will say whether the men are alive or not. For the individuals involved and for military reasons we will not disclose now.”

Missing Air Force helicopter was shot down, says Military Prosecutor
[Libya Herald] An Air Force helicopter that went missing two weeks ago shortly after taking off from Essider was shot down, according to a report by the Military Prosecutor.

The front man for Benghazi Joint Security Room (BJSR) Ibrahim Al-Sharaa said that that the Military Prosecutor had announced the helicopter came under fire during take off. The perpetrators were apparently a group calling itself 'Al-Isnad Alamni,' he added.

The helicopter took off as soon as the engines were started which, Sharaa said, was not standard procedure during take-off. The reason, he said, was because an gang had entered the airport in five vehicles. Three of these are believed to have been fitted with anti-aircraft weapons.

The helicopter was unable to reach a safe height before the gunnies opened fire with AK47 rifles, Sharaa said. The helicopter then headed out to sea, which is where it is thought to have come down.

The search is still on for wreckage from the plane and the bodies of the five men on board when the helicopter lost radio contact with Benina Airbase. Last week, Italia joined search operations with a plane fitted with a special system that allows it to search for debris lying underwater on the ocean floor.

7 Egyptians Found Shot Dead in Libya
[An Nahar] Seven Egyptian Christians were found rubbed out near Benghazi in eastern Libya on Monday, security and foreign ministry officials said.

"The bodies of seven Egyptians were found in Jalluta, east of Benghazi," Benghazi security front man Ibrahim al-Sharaa told Agence La Belle France Presse.

Egyptian foreign ministry front man Badr Abdelatty confirmed to Agence La Belle France Presse that the victims were "all Christians."

But Abdelatty said it was unclear if the killings had a sectarian motive, saying a financial dispute could be behind the murders.

"Egypt has asked the Libyan authorities to open an investigation and to inform it of the results," he said.

Benghazi, cradle of Libya's 2011 armed uprising that toppled dictator Muammar Qadaffy
...The late megalomaniac dictator of Libya, admired everywhere for his garish costumes, funny hats, harem of cutie bodyguards, and incoherent ravings. As far as is known, he is the only person who's ever declared jihad on Switzerland...
, has seen near-daily attacks on security and other targets as the weak central government has struggled to rein in former rebel brigades turned militias.

The victims were kidnapped from their home late Sunday by an unknown group, Abdelatty said, adding that eight men had been taken originally but one escaped by throwing himself from his abductors' car.

The Egyptians were killed execution-style by gunshots to the head and chest, a medical source in Benghazi said.

Christians have previously been targeted on charges of proselytizing in the Moslem country.

State news agency Lana said the bodies were identified by Egyptian residents of Benghazi.

Libyan foreign ministry front man Said Lassoued said security forces had opened an investigation into the incident but gave no further details of the crime.

Tens of thousands of Egyptians work in Libya, mostly as laborers.

Bangladesh
Recaptured JMB Rakib killed in 'gunfight'
[Dhaka Tribune] Death row convict Jama'atul Mujahedin Bangladesh (JMB) leader Rakib Hasan, alias Hafez Mahmud Rasel, 35, was killed in a 'shootout' at Beltoil Ceramic area under Mirjapur upazila in Tangail early yesterday. He was recaptured by law enforcers after being snatched away by fellow JMB men from a police van earlier on Sunday.

Police claimed the shootout took place at around 4:00am, when they went to arrest two other JMB leaders snatched from their custody, and other JMB activists who took part in the police van attack.

On Sunday, JMB members killed a policeman and snatched three of their top detained operatives from a prison van in Trishal of Mymensingh on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, while they were being taken to Mymensingh from jails in Gazipur. The snatched JMB men were death row convict Rakib Hasan, Salauddin Salehin and Saidul Islam alias Boma Mizan, who had been awarded lifetime imprisonment.

Hasibul Alam, acting superintendent of Tangail district police, told the Dhaka Tribune that Rakib Hasan Rasel was killed during a shootout between police and a gang of criminals, who attacked the police members in a bid to snatch Rasel again.

"Police went to the place along with Rasel as per his information about the presence of two other JMB leaders, Salehin and Boma Mizan," said Hasibul Alam adding: "To free Rasel, the criminals opened fired on the police members, who retaliated with gunshots leading to the shootout."

He said: "It was a fierce shootout that lasted for more than half an hour. At one point, Rasel tried to escape and sustained bullet injuries to his chest and throat."

He said three police members also sustained injuries in the shootout and a shutter gun was also recovered on the spot.

Although Hasibul could not give details on the injured coppers, he said they were admitted to Tangail Hospital.

The drive was conducted by a joint team of police comprising of members from Mirzapur and Shafipur cop shoppes in Tangail, additional forces from Mymensingh and the detective branch.

Police later handed over the body of Rakib Hasan to his family members yesterday afternoon, said Mirzapur cop shoppe Officer-in-Charge Golam Mostafa.

"The body was handed over to Rakib's father Abdus Sobahan around 5.20pm," he informed.

Bounty amount increased

Police yesterday increased the bounty from Tk 2 lakh to Tk 5 lakh each for the capture of the JMB men, who were snatched away by fellow activists from a police van.

Talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Qamrul Ahsan, senior information officer at the Police Headquarters, confirmed the matter and said: "Tk5 lakh will be rewarded to anyone who will be able to capture or help in the arrest of any of the two convicted JMB leaders."

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Range Police Mahfujul Huq Nuruzzaman, earlier on Sunday evening, announced a Tk2 lakh as bounty on the heads of three convicted JMB men.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had escaped from his bonds and overwhelmed his guard using the bludgeon the faithful Filomena had smuggled to him in the loaf of bread...
the driver of one of the microbus used in the JMB operation, Zakariya Himel, and another JMB suspect Anwar Hossain Rasel were placed on a 20-day remand in two separate cases.

Suicide attack at Iranian consulate in Peshawar kills two
[DAWN] A front man for bully boy commander Mast Gul, once acclaimed in Pakistain for his role fighting Indian rule in Kashmire, has grabbed credit of a suicide kaboom at Iranian consulate in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

which killed two paramilitary soldiers and maimed ten others on Monday.

"We sent a jacket wallah to target the Iranian consulate and Iranians inside the building," the front man told Rooters.

"They unfortunately remained safe. We will continue to target Iranian installations and the Shia community everywhere," he added.

The bombing took place in the up-market University Town area of the northwestern city of Pakistain, where many non-government organizations (NGOs) are also based.

Police said a suspicious vehicle stopped near a security checkpost near the Iranian consul-general's office, following which a blast was witnessed.

"We have two bodies of paramilitary soldiers and ten maimed have been admitted to hospital," Farhad Khan, a front man for Khyber Teaching Hospital where the casualties were taken told AFP.

A senior police official, Mohammad Ejaz Ahmed, said it appeared to be a suicide kaboom.

Iran's foreign ministry strongly condemned the bombing in a statement, the state broadcaster reported.

Its spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham called for "close cooperation" of regional countries to combat the "spread of terror acts and extremism, particularly (attacks) against diplomatic missions."

Iran is Pakistain's predominantly Shia Mohammedan neighbour to the west. Sunni gunnies frequently attack Shia targets and mosques in Pakistain.

(JI) which showcased him at public meetings but later distanced itself from him after finding him to be violating the organization's discipline.

The 47-year-old bully boy survived an ambush near Peshawar in August 2003 and little was known about his whereabouts since then.

Earlier this month, Pakistain entered into talks with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) aimed at ending their seven-year insurgency.

But the bully boy group continued carrying out attacks on a near-daily basis, and the dialogue was suspended last week after the gunnies claimed they had executed 23 kidnapped soldiers in a northwestern tribal region.

Since then the air force has been carrying out attacks in the volatile tribal regions which border Afghanistan, killing dozens.

Gunmen Kill Senior Pakistan Taliban Commander
[Tolo News] Unidentified gunnies on Monday killed a senior commander of the Pak Taliban who had a government bounty on his head, officials and family said.

"Unknown attackers opened fire on Asmatullah Shaheen's car. He along with three associates was struck down in his prime," a security official in Miranshah told AFP.

A close relative of Shaheen told AFP that two other people travelling in the car were critically maimed.

The attackers expeditiously departed at a goodly pace in a separate vehicle, the security official said.

No group has yet grabbed credit for the killing but a local security official blamed a rival hard boy group.

Iraq
Governor Survives Blasts as Iraq Violence Kills 32
[An Nahar] Provincial governor Atheel al-Nujaifi, a brother of Iraq's parliament speaker, on Monday survived the third attempt on his life this month, as violence killed 32 people, officials said.

Iraq is suffering its worst unrest in years and authorities have so far failed to check daily violence targeting both civilians and security forces.

There have now been at least six attempts to kill Nujaifi in less than a year, showing that even the most bigwig in the northern province of Nineveh -- one of the most dangerous in Iraq -- is vulnerable to attack.

Two roadside kabooms went kaboom! near Nujaifi's convoy in Nineveh's capital djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, wounding two provincial councilors but leaving the governor unharmed, a police major and a hospital employee said.

Nujaifi, brother of parliament speaker Osama al-Nujaifi, is in his second term as governor of Nineveh, where Sunni hard boyz have a major presence and carry out near-daily attacks.

Militants are also said to extort money from business owners in Mosul, helping to fund their activities in Iraq and neighboring Syria.

Attacks killed three civilians and two army officers in Nineveh on Monday, while 11 hard boyz died during an assault on an army position in the province.

Gunmen rubbed out a woman near her home in Storied Baghdad, while one person was killed by a magnetic "sticky bomb" on a vehicle in Taji, north of the capital.

And in Ramadi, a city west of Storied Baghdad where hard boyz have controlled territory since early last month, shelling killed a policeman and maimed three people.

Anti-government fighters also control all of Fallujah,
... the City of Mosques, which might have somthing to do with why it's not called Center of Prosperity or a really nice place to raise your kids...
east of Ramadi and just a short drive from Storied Baghdad.

The defense ministry said that security forces killed 13 hard boyz on Monday in Anbar province, where both Ramadi and Fallujah are located.

Iraq has been hit by a year-long surge in violence that has reached levels not seen since 2008, driven by widespread discontent among the Sunni Arab minority and the civil war in Syria.

More than 640 people have been killed in attacks and festivities since the beginning of the month, and over 1,600 since January 1, according to AFP figures based on security and medical sources.

And violence has killed 10 or more people on all but three days so far this month.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian Troops, Rebels Battle for Key Aleppo District
[An Nahar] Syrian troops battled rebels Monday over a strategic Aleppo district that could be key to securing a nearby prison and laying siege to the city's rebel-held east.

The Al-Watan daily, which is close to the government, said troops had advanced in the Sheikh Najjar district of Syria's second city and onetime economic hub.

"The army has achieved new progress in Sheikh Najjar industrial city... during its military operation to cleanse the vicinity of the Aleppo central prison and lift the siege on it," the newspaper said.

The prison has been attacked multiple times by rebels hoping to free the approximately 3,500 detainees inside, who are reportedly being held in dire conditions.

In early February rebels launched a major assault on the facility, beginning with a suicide boom-mobileing at its main entrance.

Opposition forces were able to overrun parts of the facility for hours, before regime warplanes unleashed a bombing campaign against them. The rebels were pushed back, but retained control of part of the sprawling complex.

Large parts of the fence surrounding the building collapsed during the attack, and the rebels have continued to try to penetrate the facility.

Rebels carried out another suicide kaboom at the prison Thursday, killing at least eight soldiers.

Al-Watan on Monday quoted "military experts" as saying that army units were battling to take strategic areas in Sheikh Najjar that overlook the outskirts of the prison.

The newspaper said the army hoped to station artillery there to help fend off attacks on the prison "which have intensified in recent days."

Nazeer al-Khatib, an opposition activist from Aleppo, said his contacts there had confirmed the fighting in Sheikh Najjar.

"Ahrar al-Sham and other members of the Islamic Front (rebel alliance) have deployed reinforcements to the Sheikh Najjar front," said Khatib.

"The most intense fighting is happening there, because the rebels know that should it fall to regime hands, Aleppo will be under siege, like areas of southern and eastern Damascus."

Aleppo has been largely divided between government control in the west of the city and rebel control in the east since fighting broke out there in mid-2012.

But regime forces have made advances on the southeastern outskirts of the city in recent months, securing and reopening the international airport there.

Red Crescent Distributes Food Rations to Besieged Damascus Areas
[An Nahar] Syria's Red Islamic Thingy on Monday said it has distributed 6,650 food rations in three areas of Damascus where rebels and the army reached a truce, but which are still under partial blockade.

The distributions have taken place over the past four days in Beit Sahem, Babbila and Yalda, three rebel bastions where the two sides reached a ceasefire after more than a year and a half of fighting and daily shelling.

The Red Islamic Thingy said it also provided medical treatment to 460 residents during the operation, while another 1,700 sick people were able to leave.

The Red Islamic Thingy posted photographs on its Facebook page showing scores of men and women gathering at a table, waiting to sign up for the distributions with humanitarian volunteers.

The photographs also show elderly men, teenagers and children looking happy as they carry away boxes marked with the Red Islamic Thingy's logo.

The aid mission was carried out with the help of the International Committee of the Red Thingy (ICRC) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

Some 5,450 families benefited from the distribution, out of a total 12,000 families that have signed up for assistance.

Truces reached in recent weeks for several rebel-held areas around Damascus -- where people were reportedly dying from shortages -- have allowed the entry of food, sources on both sides have said.

But according to activists and human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
organizations, the siege on the rebel-held areas has not ended.

"They are like open-air prisons," said Rami Abdel Rahman, director of the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of activists and other witnesses inside the country.

"Lifting a siege would imply freedom of movement, which is not the case," he told Agence La Belle France Presse.

In Moadamiyet al-Sham, southwest of Damascus, activists have denounced restrictions imposed by the army ever since a truce was agreed in late December.

"We receive some 1,000 packets of bread a day. But we are unable to bring in flour, or to open bakeries," said Abu Malek, an activist in the town reached via the Internet.

The U.N. Security Council on Saturday adopted a resolution calling for humanitarian aid convoys to be allowed access throughout the war-torn country, but without a threat of sanctions should the parties fail to comply.

Damascus said Sunday it is ready to cooperate with the resolution, so long as it respects "state illusory sovereignty."

"Two Israeli raids hit a Hizbullah target on the border of Leb and Syria," a Lebanese security source told Agence La Belle France Presse.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the target was a Hizbullah "missile base that is taking part in the military operations in the Syrian Qalamoun area near the border with Lebanon.

In remarks to the Associated Press, a military spokesman said the Lebanese Army had no indication of any airstrikes in the area but was investigating the reports.

Residents of al-Nabi Sheet, on the Lebanese side of the border, told AFP they saw flare bombs light up the sky ahead of the raids, which shook their houses.

Residents in neighboring areas said they heard planes flying low before the raids.

Al-Nabi Sheet is a bastion of Hizbullah and the group has a suspected weapons store and training camp there.

Quoting unnamed sources, Al-Arabiya TV said "Hizbullah members were killed in the Israeli raids in the Bekaa."

The pan-Arab, Saudi-owned TV network said the airstrikes targeted the outskirts of the town of Brital and "Hizbullah positions in Brital, al-Nabi Sheet and Ali al-Nahri."

Citing reports, Al-Arabiya said the Israeli raids hit two Hizbullah trucks that were headed for Syria.

And quoting other unconfirmed reports, Al-Arabiya said Hizbullah was seeking to transport "ballistic missiles" from Syria into Lebanon when the airstrikes occurred.

Earlier on Monday, MTV said "Israeli airstrikes targeted the areas of Brital, Hawrtaala, al-Nabi Sheet, al-Khodr and Ali al-Nahri" in the Bekaa.

MTV, however, said later that the strikes hit targets inside Syria.

OTV said Israeli raids struck Janta, al-Nabi Sheet and an area near Brital.

Earlier, Al-Arabiya quoted witnesses as saying that "more than two Israeli airstrikes have targeted Hizbullah posts in the outskirts of the towns of Janta, Brital and al-Nabi Sheet."

For its part, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported two Israeli airstrikes on "the outskirts of al-Nabi Sheet near the Lebanese-Syrian border."

LBCI television, however, said the Israeli warplanes struck targets inside Syria "in the countryside facing the towns of Janta and Yahfoufa."

And Hizbullah's al-Manar TV said "security sources have not confirmed that any Israeli airstrike has taken place inside Lebanese territory in the Eastern Mountain Range."

In Absentia Arrest Warrant Issued for Eid
[An Nahar] First Military Investigative Judge Riyad Abou Ghida on Monday issued an arrest warrant in absentia for Arab Democratic Party chief Ali Eid.

The warrant was based on the content of the lawsuit that was filed against him by the military prosecution in connection with the alleged smuggling of suspects wanted over the twin bombings that hit al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques in Tripoli

last summer.

"We are under the law and the arrest warrant against Ali Eid is only one round and not the end of the battle with Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi," Arab Democratic Party political relations official Rifaat Eid
...secretary general of the Leb Arab Democratic Party, a Pencilneck regime front organization...
, Ali's son, told LBCI television.

But sources informed on investigations told LBCI that the arrest warrant would "pacify the situations in Tripoli because he is wanted on charges of smuggling a suspect, not direct involvement in the bombings."

Abu Ghida had issued a subpoena to Eid to testify before interrogators in November 2013 in connection with the case of the twin bombings that rocked the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques in August that year.

The judge also issued arrest warrants for two suspects who are in jug -- Eid's personal driver Ahmed Ali and Shehadeh Shannoud, who is accused of smuggling Syrian woman Sukaina Ismail into Syria. The woman is accused of driving the two cars that were used in the bombings from Syria into Leb.

According to investigations conducted by the army intelligence directorate and leaked by several media outlets, Eid's driver Ahmed Ali had confessed to facilitating the escape of Ahmed Merhi, which was denied at the time by Eid's son Rifaat.

The case was put on the back burner in the wake of the resignation of Najib Miqati's cabinet but it seems to be gaining steam, especially after Rifi -- a former Internal Security Forces chief who hails from Tripoli -- was appointed as justice minister.

Rifi stressed on Sunday evening that he will exert efforts to move forward with all cases related to crimes, bombings and liquidations to preserve the principle of judicial accountability.

On August 23, two boom-mobiles went kaboom! outside the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques in Tripoli, leaving 45 people dead and more than 800 injured according to an unofficial toll.
