#2 If I'm in the South I'd tell the Chinese that if the Koreas ever combined that combined Korea might not be as friendly to China as now and it would inherit the North's nukes.

Best for China to put someone in charge of the North that can slowly bring them into the world again adn guarantee Korea is non-nuclear and politically neutral.
