'Strong Suspicion' Mali Hotel Gunmen Linked to Jihadists
[AnNahar] A deadly attack and hostage-taking at a Mali hotel is believed to be the work of an Islamist organization with ties to an Al-Qaeda linked group, Sherlocks said Monday.

Although no-one has yet grabbed credit for the attack, Sherlocks found phone numbers and addresses on the bodies of the "terrorists" which suggested they belonged to an Islamist group.

The hostage crisis, which began early Friday, ended nearly 24 hours later when Malian troops stormed the Byblos Hotel in the central town of Sevare.

The Malian government said four soldiers, five U.N. workers and four "terrorists" were killed. Among the victims were two Ukrainians, a Nepalese and a South African, according to the U.N. mission in Mali.

Investigators said there were "strong suspicions" the hostage-takers were from the newly-formed Macina Liberation Front (FLM), an Islamist Death Eater group drawn from the Fulani people from the center of the country.

"Investigators found telephone numbers and address on the bodies of the terrorists... which supports the FLM theory," a security source said, indicating that an identity card found on one of the bodies showed he was from a the Macina area.

"At this stage there is no formal proof that it was the Macina Liberation Front (FLM), but strong suspicions point to this group that has been seeking notoriety at all costs," she said.

The west African country has seen a surge in jihadist violence in recent months despite a peace deal signed in June.

The FLM, which emerged earlier this year, has claimed a number of attacks, some targeting security forces in central Mali. It is considered linked to Ansar Dine -- Arabic for "defenders of the faith" -- one of the groups that took control of Mali's vast arid north in April 2012.

Washington added Ansar Dine to its terror blacklist in 2013, accusing it of close ties to Al-Qaeda and of torturing and killing opponents in the north.

Mauritanian news agency Al-Akhbar, which regularly publishes jihadist statements, also said the FLM "could be behind the attack in Sevare".

Details of the deadly siege, which began early Friday, emerged on Monday with the family of one of the victims saying he had been sending them instant messages on WhatsApp during the shootout. Roelof "Jaco" Janse van Rensburg, a South African rescue worker, managed to message his family from the hotel bathroom where he was hiding for hours as the drama played out, his brother-in-law told AFP.

"He was saying it like a warzone out there," Cobus Smal told AFP, saying the messages had gone on for hours until his brother-in-law's phone battery had died during the evening. "Everybody was hiding, they were trapped in their rooms."

The family heard nothing until the next afternoon when they were told he was dead.

Apart from the four foreigners, a Malian driver working for a company contracted by the mission died, the UN said.

A Malian military source confirmed that foreign special forces had been involved when they stormed the hotel, without giving further details.

By Monday, life had returned to normal in Sevare, with several marriages also taking place, although security remained high, with troops in the town and along the road to the regional capital Mopti.

Located 620 kilometers (385 miles) northeast of the capital Bamako, Sevare is a key staging post on the road to Mali's vast desert north which fell to Islamic Death Eaters in 2012. A French-led offensive routed Islamist groups from their northern strongholds the following year, but entire swathes of the desert region remain lawless.

The attack comes as the former French colony seeks to implement a June peace deal with gangs to end ending years of unrest and ethnic divisions.

Jihadist attacks have long been concentrated in Mali's north, but began spreading earlier this year to the center, and in June to the south near the borders with Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
. Two attacks earlier this month in central and northern Mali left 13 soldiers dead.

Egypt govt takes over 16 hospitals linked to banned Brotherhood
[AlAhram] 16 hospitals in five different governorates will be placed under the supervision of the health ministry
The process continues. The bureacrats no doubt won't do nearly as well running things, but President al Sisi will get credit for their existence instead of the Muslim Brotherhood.
A committee tasked with appraising and freezing the funds of members of the Moslem Brüderbund has decided to take over the assets of 16 hospitals around the country which are under the management of the group.

Committee secretary Yasser Abu El-Fotouh said that among the hospitals are El-Safwa hospital in Cairo and the Abdel-Fattah Shahin medical centre in Giza.

The hospitals, which are spread over five different governorates, will be put under the supervision of the Egyptian health ministry, and will continue operating normally, Abu El-Fotouh's statement reads.

In December 2013, Egypt's interim authorities designated the Brotherhood a terrorist organization and froze the assets of many of its members and all affiliated NGOs.

In 2014 a court ruling banned all activities of the Brotherhood, from which ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi hails, and ordered the confiscation of the group's assets via a state committee.

The government has seized the assets of hundreds of Brotherhood members, including cars and agricultural land, as well as privately owned shares in listed companies.

Dozens of schools and NGOs with links to Morsi's group were also confiscated.

Hundreds of Brotherhood members and the group's top leadership have been incarcerated
Please don't kill me!
by authorities since Morsi's ouster in 2013 and placed on trial on a variety of charges.

North Korea Accused of 'Cowardly Act' After Land Mines Injure 2
[NBCNEWS] South Korea's military on Monday threatened retaliation against North Korea after accusing its neighbor of planting land mines inside the Demilitarised Zone border that maimed two soldiers last week.

There was evidence to conclude that soldiers from the North crossed the Military Demarcation Line recently to plant the mines, and Pyongyang would be made to "pay a severe price", the South's military told a news briefing.

"We strongly condemn this cowardly act, which would be unthinkable for a normal military," Major General Ku Hong-mo of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said, calling it a violation of the armistice agreement that ended the 1950-53 Korean War.

The denunciation is likely to provoke an angry response from the North and further raise tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Canadian Premier Pledges to Ban Travel to ISIL Hotspots
[ALMANAR.LB] Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper pledged Sunday that if his Conservative government is re-elected this fall he will make it a crime for Canadians to travel to countries under the control of murderous Moslem groups.

"A re-elected Conservative government will designate travel to places that are ground zero for terrorist activity a criminal offence," Harper said while speaking during a campaign stop in Ottawa.

"We are talking about the most dangerous places on earth, where governance is nonexistent and violence is widespread and brutal," he went on saying.

The law would designate "declared areas" which the government considered under terrorist control.

While no names were mentioned Sunday, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported that a media handout from the Conservatives said some parts of Syria and Iraq would "likely" fall under the travel ban. Australia has such a law.

Harper said some exceptions might apply for individuals such as journalists, aid workers and diplomats, but added that there were "few legitimate reasons" to go to murderous Moslem-controlled areas.

Travel to these areas is "not a human right", the prime minister said. "That is something we have to nip in the bud before trained turbans return to this country."

With an election set for Oct. 19, Harper is boasting of the Conservative's record on security during a decade in power. He is also reminding Canadians of the clear and present danger from homegrown murderous Moslems, as demonstrated by the deadly attacks in Ottawa and Quebec last fall. Two soldiers were killed by lone individual Canadians in separate attacks.

Harper also pointed out that his government introduced legislation in 2013 that made it illegal to leave the country and join an murderous Moslem organization.

He repeated his claim that the main opposition parties -- Liberals and New Democratic Party -- were soft on terrorism and that the Conservatives would provide the best protection for Canadians.

"There's no more importance than ensuring the safety of Canadians," Harper said. "Our opponents just do not get that."

Harper made the promise during a stopover to support Conservative candidate Abdul Abdi, a former police officer.

The prime minister's agenda then called for a rally in Quebec, where Conservatives are looking to better the party's representation in the October election.

Obama administration warns US court: High cost of appealing terror verdict could topple PA
The Obama administration urged a US judge to "carefully consider" the Palestinian Authority's financial condition in determining the size of any bond it must post to appeal a jury's finding that it supported terrorist attacks in Israel.

The US Department of Justice filed a notice of interest in the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court late on Monday, after 10 American families in February won a $655 million verdict against the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian Authority.

The Justice Department said the government "strongly supports" allowing terrorism victims to vindicate their interests in court.

Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken nonetheless asked US District Judge George Daniels to "carefully consider" how requiring a multimillion-dollar bond could affect the Palestinian Authority's viability, given its delicate finances.

More than 50,000 FC personnel have been guarding the border along Afghanistan, and provide security to 416 kilometres of gas pipelines, 300 kilometres of railway lines and other vital national installations in Balochistan, said Maj Gen Afghan.

"Terrorism is the biggest problem in the province", he said. The FC chief said despite receiving support from abroad, only a handful of miscreants were present in Balochistan, adding that "their number is on a constant decline".

De-radicalised militants freed in Khyber
[DAWN] LANDI KOTAL: The Khyber Agency political administration released at least 65 suspected hard boys, who had surrendered to the security forces during military operation in Bara.

Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah told Dawn that as many as 602 suspected hard boys, affiliated with Bara-based proscribed hard boy groups, had surrendered to the government at different times after the launch of Khyber-One operation in the tribal area on October 16 last year.

The surrendered men, including both young and elderly, were kept at Levies Centre in Shahkas near and Jamrud and some private buildings, currently under the occupation of security forces in Bara.

"The released men, mostly elderly and belonging to different tribes of Bara, have completed

eight to 10 months of de-radicalisation programme at the internment centres. They are now at the disposal of elders of their respective tribes for their future good conduct," said Mr Shah.

He added that the administration on its part would also keep a strict vigil on the activities of those former hard boyz so that they didn't revert to their previous unlawful activities.

The Khyber Agency political administration had hired the services of some workers and instructors of Sabawoon, a non-governmental organization having expertise in re-radicalising suspected snuffies surrendered to security in different parts of tribal areas and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
Accommodation was provided to the Sabawoon instructors and teachers at Al-Haj Market Centre near Bara Bazaar where they imparted training in different trades to the young captives while the older lot was given psychological treatment and religious education.

"We categorised the surrendered men in according with their age and the crimes they had committed," the political agent said and added that those involved in minor crimes were released first after completion of their training and education and later a firm assurance by the pro-administration tribal elders about their good conduct.

He said that the objective of imparting skill development training to the former snuffies was to enable them to find a decent source of earning once they went back to the society while religious education and psychological therapy was to enable them to live a peaceful life in accordance with the Islamic injunctions.

Iraq
ISIS' Umm Sayyaf to be sentenced in Kurdistan
[RUDAW.NET] Umm Sayyaf, the wife of prominent ISIS leader Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
, who was killed by a US Special Forces operation in Syria on May 15, will be sentenced in the Kurdistan region after being handed over by the US to local authorities.

"We will sentence her based on fair and legal measures," judicial council front man Umed Mohsin told Rudaw Monday.

"US forces handed over the criminal Nasrin As'ad Ibrahim (Umm Sayyaf) to the Kurdistan region security council for a trial, and upon the order of the judge, she has been held at the Erbil Asayish (security forces) investigation department," Mohsin added.

"The detainee holds Iraqi citizenship, and was born in 1990 in Baghdad. She was handed over to the Kurdistan region on August 6, and she will be investigated in accordance with the terror law, and we as the judicial council of the Kurdistan region will provide her legal rights, including finding her a lawyer. As of now, we are waiting for the result of investigations," he continued.

"After the investigations are finished and a verdict is issued, we will await the judges' decision to transfer her to a private court or release her," Mohsin said.

Earlier this week, the US Department of Defense announced that Ibrahim was transferred to Iraqi custody and was being held by the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Ministry of Interior. Ibrahim was taken prisoner during a US raid on suspicion she was an ISIS member who also assisted in the enslavement of at least one young girl.

"This transfer is consistent with [Department of Defense] policy to detain, interrogate, and, where appropriate, seek the prosecution of individuals who are captured on the battlefield," read a US Department of Defense statement regarding Ibrahim's transfer to Kurdish custody.

The US statement did not address why the prisoner was transferred to the KRG instead of the central government, and did not specify how long Ibrahim will be in KRG custody, where she is being held or if she will be charged with a crime.

'Tailor-made' plan to give minorities political voice in Kurdistan
[RUDAW.NET] To give minorities in the Kurdistan region more influence, they should get their own special councils of representatives to function within the Kurdish parliament and governing institutions.

That is the essence of a plan presented to the Constitutional Commission of the Kurdistan Parliament by Middle East Research Institute (MERI) President and former Minister Dlawer Ala'Aldeen.

Inspired by Eastern European bodies for minorities but adjusted to the Kurdish situation, two new councils will ensure the active participation of the different ethnic and religious elements in legislation, decision-making, implementation and monitoring, he predicted.

MERI based its plan on meetings with minority groups and NGOs, in relation to the fact that a special committee is presently working on the first draft of the Kurdish constitution, said Dlawer. "As the committee is in the middle of covering the minorities' rights, they invited us in. We might have influence on some of their decisions on structuring articles in the constitution."

What is lacking in the present Kurdish system, he said, is "a model that integrates the minorities' representatives within the parliament as well as governmental institutions, so they can lobby and influence decisions at the right time in the right places."

Two commissions should be formed: one for ethnic minorities such as Turkmen, Arabs, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Armenians, and another for religious minorities like Yezidis, Christians, Kaka'is, Zoroastrians, Sabians and Baha'is. The councils should be embedded administratively and financially within the Kurdistan Parliament.

They will be made up of members of parliament, representatives of 11 ministries and ministers or their deputies--all member of minority groups themselves.

To make sure they will have real influence, they will not only work within the parliament, but will also send an observer to the meetings of the Council of Ministers. To prevent fights over the most influential positions, the observer in the cabinet will be chosen in rotation.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Zionist Entity Releases Suspects in Arson Attack
[ALMANAR.LB] Israeli occupation authorities released all suspects detained s part of a probe into the Molotov cocktailing of a Paleostinian home that burned to death an 18-month-old child and his father.

"All those incarcerated
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
yesterday for interrogation have been released," a spokeswoman for the Shin Bet security agency told AFP, without providing further details.

They did not provide the number of those detained in the raids early Sunday in wildcat Jewish settlement outposts in the West Bank near the Paleostinian village of Duma, where the brutal Molotov cocktailing occurred.

Wildcat outposts in the Israeli-occupied West Bank are notorious for housing Zionist settlers, referred to as hilltop youth.

The Paleostinian family's small brick and cement home in Duma was gutted by fire early on July 31, and a Jewish Star of David spray-painted on a wall along with the words "Dire Revenge" and "long live the Messiah".

The arson attack on the family's home in the occupied West Bank that killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsha and his father, Saad sparked an international outcry over the ongoing Israeli crimes against Paleostinians.

Mother Riham and four-year-old son Ahmed were also in an Israeli hospital, where a spokeswoman described their condition last week as life-threatening.

Terror Networks
Daesh wants to take over Middle East, India, Pakistan by 2020
The Daesh plans to take over large parts of the world, including almost the entire Indian subcontinent, by the next five years, according to a chilling map that features in a new book on the dreaded terror group.

According to the map, the Daesh group plans to take control of the Middle East, North Africa, most of the Indian subcontinent and parts of Europe, within the next five years, to complete its caliphate. The caliphate --- a state governed by Sharia law which Daesh plan to claim - covers areas from Spain in the west to China in the east, the Mirror reported citing the map.

The map reveals the calculated way Daesh plans to take over the world by 2020.
Let's just say that the hard boys at Daesh are a little .. optimistic. Not even the French and Italians can surrender that quickly. Though Obama might help it along...
According to the map, Andalus is the Arabic name given to the parts of Spain, Portugal and France that were occupied by the Moors from the 8th to the 15th century while the Indian subcontinent would come under 'Khurasan'.

BBC reporter Andrew Hosken, who includes the map of the targeted areas in his new book 'Empire of Fear: Inside the Islamic State', said Daesh wants "to take over all of what they see as the Islamic world.

A seven-step Daesh programme, dating back almost 20 years, includes the US being provoked into declaring war on the Islamic world between 2000 and 2003 and an uprising against Arab rulers between 2010 and 2013, the report said.

Daesh have up to 50,000 members and cash and assets of nearly 2 billion pounds, partly due to their control of oil and gas fields in Iraq and Syria, it said.

"They want to take over all of what they see as the Islamic world. Once they have their caliphate, they plan to turn against the rest of the world. They envisage the whole world being under their rule," Hosken was quoted as saying.

"They have 60 nations against them, including the United States and Russia, so one would think that is pretty unlikely. But one would have thought the first steps were unlikely as well," he said.

Hosken says in his book that Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, who founded the terrorist group that would later become Daesh, in 1996 described the seven-step programme that would lead to Muslim victory by 2020.

"We were so close to destroying them back in 2010-11. Eighty per cent of their leaders had been captured or killed and they ended up as a little rump. We didn't finish them off and like a cancer they came back," Hosken said.
Thanks Barack...

#1  i dont underestimate their power to do exactly that. All they have to do is convince people of their evil ideology of sharia and their allies will rise up from within.

the US is wrong to think China or Russia are its biggest challenges

theocratic political islam is the biggest challenge to the US, to world security and to every nation on earth

#2  Yokay, I'll say it, YUUUUUPPP.

And thus, little Virgina, we learn once again again again ... why the US-Allies must destroy the ISIS/ISIL/Daesh as an organized polity ASAP, lest the US_World witness the rise of a "Muslim/Islamic Napoleon" = ISLAMIC MAHDI/MESSIAH/IMAM 2030-2050 SAVE WID NUCLEAR WEAPONS GOODNESS.

Lest we fergit, US-LED ANTI-US OWG-NWO + GLOBALISM = THE US IS HELPING ITS ENEMIES, RIVALS, OR PROTAGONISTS, ETC. GET MILITARILY OR MILPOL STRONGER RELATIVE TO ITSELF.

US-WORLD/GLOBAL SOCIALIST ORDER IS THE FOCII OR PRIORITY, NOT NATIONAL SECURITY, TO INCLUDE NOT STOPPING THE ISLAMIST-JIHADIST GLOBAL JIHAD VEE THE SO-CALLED "BIG[GEST] GOVT" + HIGHER.

The more Anarchy-N-Chaos, the better for US-Global Socialism + Socialist Order - unfortunately, THERE IS LITTLE TO NO EVIDENCE THE SECULAR LEFTIES CAN CONTROL, LET ALONE STOP OR DESTROY, THE HARD BOYZ WHICH IS GOING NUKULAAR WID WESTERN APPROVAL + SUPPORT.
