[ToloNews] An explosion occurred on Friday evening in the Aino area in Paghman district, west of Kabul city, targeting a vehicle in which family members of writer and analyst Assadullah Walwalji were traveling, police said.
Walwaji's wife and his daughter were killed in the attack.
Six people were also maimed in the attack, including four members of Walwaji's family.
Walwalji himself was not traveling in the vehicle.
No group has grabbed credit.
The attack has sparked widespread criticism from Afghans on social media, who blamed the security agencies for their inability to prevent such incidents.

[AnNahar] French police carried out raids in the eastern city of Dijon on Friday after several nights of violence blamed on members of its Chechen community, officials said.
"The police operations are aimed at finding weapons, ammunition and narcotics," said Bernard Schmeltz, the government's top official for the region.
Around 140 officers took part in the raids, which came a day after police detained six from Dijon's large Chechen population on suspicions they took part in the violence.
From Friday to Monday, the city was rocked by festivities and vehicle burnings after an assault this month on a 16-year-old Chechen boy, which prompted other members of the community to stage reprisal raids.
Chechens reportedly travelled to Dijon from all over La Belle France and even from neighbouring Belgium and Germany to take part.
Scenes of the unrest, including men brandishing what appear to be assault rifles as well as handguns and clubs, shocked the country.

This is about escalating provocation. The trick is to separate the useful idiot/zealots who have nothing else to do, from the insurgents cadres. [WashingtonTimes] Police in Portland, Oregon, say they cleared an area in the city’s Pearl District early Thursday when demonstrators tried to set up an "autonomous zone" similar to what protesters have enacted in Seattle.
Police declared a civil disturbance and unlawful assembly at 5:30 a.m. after hundreds of demonstrators tried to gather and camp outside what they believe to be Mayor Ted Wheeler’s residence.
Once the declaration was announced police said the approximately 50 people remaining in the area left. Authorities say one person was arrested.
"We’re very pleased with the successful outcome this morning," Portland Police Lt. Tina Jones said.
In Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood protesters have cordoned off several blocks near a cop shoppe. Police have largely retreated from the area and city officials say they continue to communicate with protest leaders, who say they are maintaining the space peacefully.

Thursday morning Wheeler said he didn’t want any similar protest zone to happen in Portland.

According to the news report, the Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front called the area the Patrick Kimmons Autonomous Zone, named after Kimmons, who was shot and killed by Portland police in October 2018.
The group used "dumpsters, pallets and boards" to establish the zone and prevent anyone from driving into the area.
Protesters demanded $50 million to be cut from the Portland Police Bureau’s budget. On Wednesday, the city council approved a $16 million cut from the police budget.

These mountains are also home to an untold number of guerrillas of the PKK, who for years have used the Qandil Mountains area as a base of operations. Turkey regularly carries out air and ground attacks against the outlawed PKK, which it says maintains bases in northern Iraq.
