[WashingtonExaminer] Human traffickers are sneaking hardened criminals across the U.S.-Mexico border by embedding them with families, according to Texas troopers.
A Texas Department of Public Safety officer deployed to the border recently pulled over an adult man and a 14-year-old girl in Starr County and discovered the man was a fugitive wanted by law enforcement for sexual assault. Both had just come over the border illegally. The girl was not related to him, and it's likely they were paired up to cross the border together.
"That kind of thing is being ignored right now by the media. They’re focused on families and children, but there's more to it," the DPS spokesman told the Washington Examiner.
In February, the Border Patrol encountered nearly 100,000 people who illegally attempted to cross into the United States from Mexico, including nearly 10,000 children without parents and 20,000 families. The concern for federal and state authorities is that the same smugglers pushing people across are using single children as props for adults because it may increase their chances of being released into the U.S. rather than being returned to Mexico. Sixty percent of families encountered last month were not returned to Mexico, according to federal data.
[NYDAILYNEWS] A woman on her way to massive Manhattan protests against anti-Asian violence became the victim of a hate crime herself when she was punched and bloodied by a man who stomped her sign calling for peace, police said Monday.
The woman was on Astor Place in the East Village when a stranger asked for her sign, which read "Hate Has No Peace," about 11:35 a.m. Sunday, police said. Protesters were flooding into rallies in Union Square Park and Columbus Park in Chinatown, as shown on the front page of Monday’s Daily News.
The man tried to stuff the sign in a garbage can then threw it on the ground and stomped on it.
When the woman asked why he was doing that he punched her twice in the face, police said.
As he ran off, she gave chase but sprained her ankle. Still, she was able to record cellphone video showing his bearded face before he covered it with a mask.
The suspect can be seen turning back and saying something before he escaped into the Astor Place subway station.
Medics took the 39-year-old victim, who is Asian, to Lenox Health Greenwich Village for a cut lip.
The attack, under investigation by the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force, is the latest in a string of assaults against Asian people across the city.
The suspect is about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a red reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... Bulls hoodie and a black baseball cap and carrying a green backpack.
The victim is from China; she came to America for her accounting degree, then worked in Hong Kong before returning to the US in 2012. Her husband is currently somewhere in China, suggesting a strong connection. The assailant appears to be Black. Twenty-two attacks on Asians have thus far been reported to police in New York City in 2021, most of which were not done by white supremacists, so there’s that.
[NYDAILYNEWS] A 54-year-old woman was slammed in the face with a metal pipe by a stranger on a Lower East Side street who yelled, "I came here to f--- up Asians," police sources said Monday.The victim, who is Asian, was walking near Grand St. and Ludlow St. near Chinatown when the bigot screamed the crazed threat and bashed her with the pipe about 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
The blow left a cut across her nose. She was taken to Mount Sinai Beth Israel in stable, pH balanced condition.
Cops arrested suspect Elias Guerrero, 38, a short time later not far from the scene. He was charged with assault as a hate crime, resisting arrest, harassment, and weapon possession.
Guerrero has four prior arrests, all from 2017, on low level charges, including turnstile jumping and resisting arrest.
The attack took place blocks from a separate attack involving another Asian woman who was slugged at Astor Place and Cooper Square about 11:35 a.m., cops said.
The attacker punched the woman twice in the face after stomping on a sign she was carrying that said "Hate has no peace." That victim was on her way to Sunday’s massive Manhattan march against anti-Asian violence.

[News9] BOULDER, Colorado - A shooting at a Colorado supermarket killed 10 people Monday, including a police officer, and a suspect was in custody, authorities said.
Boulder police Cmdr. Kerry Yamaguchi said at a news conference that the suspect was being treated but didn’t give more details on the shooting or how many people were killed. A short time later, police said 10 people including a police officer were killed.
Officers escorted a shirtless man with blood running down his leg out of the store in handcuffs but authorities would not say if that was the suspect.
Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said authorities know how many people were killed and suggested they are not releasing the number because they need to notify families of the victims. More at the link

Suspect Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa was from Arvada, Colorado, and had lived most of his life in the U.S., said Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty. He was undergoing treatment at a hospital and was expected to be booked into the county jail later Tuesday, Dougherty said.

I searched the miscreant’s name, and the first thing that popped up was a brand new Wikipedia page. It looks like the authorities were not thinking a mere nutter:

2.49pm: Police scanners pick up first reports of the shooting.
The frantic callers describe a white gunman firing at people in the parking lot.
2.59pm: Officer Eric Talley, one of the first on the scene, is killed
3.04pm: SWAT teams arrive.
They find two people dead in the parking lot and one at the entrance of the store
Over the radio scanner, cops are heard yelling: 'Shooter inside! He just shot at us twice!'
Another said: 'Officer down inside the building'
3.21pm: Police stop reporting that they're being shot at.
It is around this time that the man is seen being led out of the store in boxer shorts
Were the fifteen agencies expecting problems? Half an hour from first call to resolution is almost unbelievable.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, has been charged after rampaging through a grocery store with an AR-15-style rifle, leaving 10 dead.
According to a Facebook page, that appeared to be Ahmad's, he was "born in Syria 1999" before he "came to the USA in 2002."
The 21-year-old would post regularly on Facebook, including sharing the hashtag "NeedAGirlfriend" and sharing memes about video games.
He also made a claim that "racist Islamophobic people" were "hacking my phone" and stopping him from having a "normal life."
Ahmad also shared a video that's caption claimed it showed a "corrections officer turn off his body cam before repeatedly punching an inmate with a mental health condition," which he caption: "This is not okay."
His school, Arvada West High School, confirmed to The Sun that Alissa was a student from March 2015 until he graduated in May 2018.
"Jeffco Public Schools and the Board of Education are saddened by the tragic event that took place in Boulder," the school said.
"We share the heartbreak of the families, coworkers, and friends of the victims and of the Colorado community that again faces another senseless act of violence."
NBC’s Pete Williams said on MSNBC that his federal sources said there is no indication that the shooting was an act of terror or a hate crime.
Herold said that the suspect Alissa from Arvada suffered a "through and through" wound to his leg and officials confirmed that he was in hospital before being brought to jail later today.
Witnesses said a man in tactical gear was silent as he carefully picked off his victims with a rifle in the parking lot before moving inside the store.
“He just came in and started shooting,” one shopper told The Denver Post.
Another said the gunman “let off a couple of shots, then was silent, and then he let off a couple more. He wasn’t spraying.”
He said: “I probably heard 30 shots. It was just pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.
In 2017, Alissa, then 18, attacked a classmate at Arvada West High School, according to an affidavit filed in the case. He punched the classmate in the head without warning, and when the boy fell to the ground, Alissa continued to punch him. The classmate suffered bruises and cuts to his head, according to the affidavit.
Witnesses told police they didn’t see or hear any reason for Alissa to attack the classmate. Alissa told officers that the classmate “had made fun of him and called him racial names weeks earlier,” according to the affidavit.
He was convicted of misdemeanor assault in 2018 and was sentenced to two months of probation and 48 hours of community service.
Arvada Police Detective Dave Snelling confirmed Tuesday the local department had at least two interactions with Alissa over the past several years including a case of criminal mischief. The details on that case were not immediately available.
Snelling would not say whether local police had received any warnings or complaints about Alissa recently, however, and instead deferred the question to the FBI.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Syrian opposition media outlets are reporting that the Iranian proxy militia, Kataib al-Imam Ali, has opened a new recruitment center at the heart of the regime-run northern city of Aleppo.
Establishing the drafting center took place with consent from the Syrian regime, said local sources.
Javad al-Ghaffari, a prominent Iranian leader who is based in Aleppo, had met with officials at the Defense Ministry headquarters in Damascus to discuss and approve the operation.
All those willing to join the militia, including army defectors and dodgers of compulsory military service, will be accepted, sources predicted. Regime forces will drop their pursuit of anyone drafted into the Iranian militia, even if they are ex-soldiers wanted for decamping or citizens accused of draft evasion.

Syria's opposition Eye of Euphrates news network published a report revealing the details of the terms and conditions involving registration in Kataib al-Imam Ali.

Opposition activists claimed that Russian warplanes carried out the attacks near the Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey late Sunday, hours after regime artillery shelling hit a major hospital in a opposition-controlled town in northwestern Syria.
Six patients, including a child, were killed. Medical staff were maimed, forcing the facility to shut its doors, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported.

One person was killed in the strikes, according to the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor, and the opposition’s Syrian Civil Defense, also known as White Helmets.
The civil defense said that in addition to the trucks, the strikes targeted a cement factory. The truck fires were put under control hours later.
An AP video from the area showed about a dozen trucks on fire as civil defense members sprayed them with water.
Turkey’s Defense Ministry blamed Syrian regime forces for the attack, saying it left several people maimed.
