[Fox23] At 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, June 1 2022, Deputy Chief Eric Dalgleish, with the Tulsa Police Department (TPD), Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum and St. Francis CEO, Dr. Cliff Robertson gave a press conference about the shooting that took place at the St. Francis campus.
Dalgleish confirmed that the shooting was in the Natalie Medical Building and was mostly limited to one floor.
He also confirmed that 4 innocents were dead, as well as the shooter. No officers were injured.
Police do not currently have an ID on the suspect, but he is a black male within the ages of 35 to 40. He was armed with a rifle and a handgun.
Dalgleish confirmed the following after a series of questions was directed to him:
TPD is unaware if the shooter was a patient, nor are they aware of any body armor being used.
Both weapons were fired.
They were not aware if he was targeting a specific person, this is still under investigation.
The second floor houses an orthopedic area, but TPD does not know if it is the whole floor.
Officers were able to go floor to floor and clear the building with the aid of other agencies.
TPD’s recent active shooter training was still fresh on their minds, but it is a topic TPD revisits regularly.
Overall, Dalgleish said he was very happy with TPD’s 3-minute response time, as well as the response and aid of every agency who helped today.

Nothing has been said about that in anything I’ve seen, Besoeker. Mental health issues and broken homes, yes. But I’ve seen nothing about pot use — a known schizophrenia trigger for the genetically susceptible, and the stuff so widely legally sold today is much stronger than what was available when we all were the target market — nor about mental struggles resulting from being locked down for 12-18 months that are hitting the kids particularly hard.

Some children were victims of sex trafficking, and physical and sexual abuse.
Sex trafficking is described as a form of human trafficking and it is also known as modern-day slavery, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
This month, several people were arrested in a human trafficking case regarding the disappearance of a 15-year-old Texas girl from a Dallas Mavericks game she attended with her father.
“The victim’s and her family’s attorney, Zeke Fortenberry of Fortenberry PLLC, said in a press release that the child was found in a hotel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 18 – eleven days after her disappearance – and was reunited with her family,” Breitbart News relayed.
Per the recent operation, agencies offered victim services and counseling to the children who were recovered, as well as to their relatives.
“Operation Lost Souls exemplifies Homeland Security Investigations’ [HSI] commitment to protecting the public from crimes of victimization. In this case, we are looking out for our children – our community’s most precious resource,” explained HSI El Paso Deputy Special Agent in Charge Taekuk Cho.

I live near the three mentioned Idaho cities. Friends who track the local political scene say the immigration effect is somewhere between neutral to slightly red trending. However, new arrivals of a lefty persuasion are sorting themselves into areas that already lean blue, so polarization is increasing.

Whoever wrote the green notes accompanying this is totally clueless about arbitrage and credit risk. The losers are the US counterparties that wrote the credit default swaps, not the government bond issuers.
Russia can easily pay the interest on the notes. It's Janet Yellen who's forcing the likes of PIMCO and other US investment houses to swallow 8,000 percent losses on the credit default insurance policies they wrote.

This happened in central Victoria and left local man Cliff Des bruised and battered.
Cliff is 59, and when he heard his dogs barking in the backyard he decided to investigate. Turns out they were barking at this "six-foot mad roo," and when Cliff tried to shoo the roo away, this magnificent fight broke out.
Cliff tried to run away, as you saw in the above video, but inevitably the two got to throwing down.
The 59-year-old pinned the kangaroo after it continued to attack him.
""I thought this guy means business, he was going to mongrel me if I didn't, I took him to the ground.
"It tried to gouge my face. I put my head down so it gouged me on the top of my head. It bit my finger. Then it put its back claw through my leg, about an inch-and-a-half through my back leg, shredded my pants down to the cuff."
Des then tried to run away again and it chased him around his car, with the ordeal lasting six minutes and 22 seconds."
A great sport, Des says he's happy the attack happened to him instead of one of the elderly residents or even one of the kids who are commonly seen in the area. He also said this, which just proves how good of a guy he is.
However, Des said he held no resentment towards kangaroos after the encounter, saying humans were on kangaroos' land.
"We built our roads over theirs. They're a beautiful animal.
"What I can take from the whole scenario is just don't go near them.

[Red State] For months, President Biden and scores of federal lawmakers have been paying lip service about Americans’ struggles to keep up with inflation, especially when it comes to rapidly rising prices at the pump.
For instance, in a recent op-ed he wrote for The Wall Street Journal, Biden said he has taken "every practical step to make things more affordable for families during this moment of economic uncertainty—and to boost the productive capacity of our economy over time."
He added that when it comes to record-high prices at the pump, he has specifically "led the largest release from global oil reserves in history."
Yet, despite his draining of the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve and whatever he was referring to when he said he has taken "every practical step" to reduce inflation, Americans are still facing the fact that gas prices continue to rise and inflation is getting worse, not better.
So, aside from the rhetorical gestures and hollow policies, what can Biden and Congress actually do to reduce the exorbitant price of a gallon of gasoline, which now costs an average of $4.67 per gallon?
For starters, it would certainly behoove the Biden administration and Congress to strongly consider a national gas tax "holiday."
As of now, the current federal tax on a gallon of gasoline stands at 18-cents-per-gallon for regular gasoline and 24-cents-per-gallon for diesel fuel.
If Biden and Congress wanted to make an immediate and meaningful difference when it comes to gas prices, they would work in tandem to put these federal tax levies on hold, at least for the foreseeable future.

Taxes are not likely to go away. The problem is the fossil fuel consumer. Controls on purchasing should be implemented immediately. Demand for this evil substance must be reduced. Increased costs (to include taxes) are obviously the key.

No way. The crippling of the ordinary American by high gas prices is all part of the plan. They will never release the knee from our necks.
People keep assuming they want to make our lives better. This is a tragically mistaken assumption. Begin assuming that their actions are motivated by malice and that they wish to harm us. Then things will start making sense and you will be able to make hypotheses that will be confirmed by evidence.

...As far as the gas tax goes, the politicians of course understand that it's unlikely that the price will actually drop more than a few cents - if at all, where this might be approved. And if it's approved, imagine the fun when the Feds decide that enough's enough....a few months down the road when we're looking at $6-7 a gallon without the tax.
And BTW, diesel prices may be irrelevant in the very near future because of a shortage of Diesel Exhaust Fluid, or DEF. It's mandatory in engines built since 2010, and is essentially urea and water, sprayed into the exhaust stream to lower emissions. What happens in DEF engines if you just say the hell with it?

Before a truck's DEF tank runs empty the driver is given a series of alerts on their dashboard displays (much the same way as if they were running low on diesel). Generally speaking, when the DEF tank level drops below 10% an amber warning lamp will come on, at 5% this lamp starts flashing and below 2.5% a solid amber warning light is displayed.
If the truck is allowed to run out of DEF the engine's power is reduced, a solid red warning will be displayed and the vehicle speed will be limited to 5 mph until the DEF tank is refilled."

Urea serves an important role in the metabolism of nitrogen-containing compounds by animals and is the main nitrogen-containing substance in the urine of mammals. Perhaps someone can create the formula for truckers to create their own DEF?

I didn't read the source article. Odd the summary neglects to mention the fact that many if not all the manufacturers have cut their production drastically to the extent that willing would-be car buyers (like me) are unable to buy the makes/models they want (like a new Toyota Sienna minivan).

To clarify: I bought a Crewcab with trailer/offroad gearing but with a 2.7L V-6 (half my previous 5.4L V-8) and an auto 10-speed tranny...and I get more mileage and performance because of the twin turbos. Win-win

[MSN] Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told CNBC that the White House has several strategies that will reduce inflation she conceded is too high for Americans.
In a separate interview Tuesday, Yellen admitted she was wrong when she called inflation "transitory" last year. back in Feb 2021, Yellen backed Biden's $1.9T bill saying it wasn't inflationary - then in April 2021 she said, 'we have the tools to prevent inflation', then in May 2021 she said 'it will be transitory'. She also said that abortions reduce inflation. I can't find any quotes of hers pretending that the Build Back Better bill would reduce inflation so - assuming that is correct, at least she got one small thing right

Janet, do you remember the equation MV = PQ? It exlains everything you need to know about inflation, and I KNOW you learned it in basic economics (since she and I are roughly contemporaries and studied the same textbooks.)

[AlAhram] The Netherlands and Germany are to jointly drill for a new gas field in the North Sea, the Dutch government said on Wednesday, a day after Russia cut gas supplies to the country.
Deputy minister of mining Hans Vijlbrief "issued permits for the Dutch part today", it said in a statement, adding that "an accelerated procedure for the required permits is underway" in Germany.
"The cabinet supports gas extraction in the North Sea in order, for example, to have sufficient gas to heat our houses," the economics and climate ministry said.
The controversial plan to drill for gas some 10 nautical miles (19 kilometres, 11 miles) offshore on the Dutch-German border is not new, but has taken on a new urgency since Russia's Gazprom announced Tuesday it was halting all gas supplies to the Netherlands.
This came after Dutch energy firm GasTerra refused to pay in rubles following the Russian military offensive in Ukraine.
The German state of Lower Saxony a year ago decided not to issue permits for the drilling near the eco-sensitive islands of Schiermonnikoog and Borkum and Dutch environmental groups still have concerns.

[Rudaw] Iraq profited over $11 billion dollars in oil revenue in the month of May, marking the second record set by the country since the beginning of the year, the oil ministry announced on Wednesday.
The profits of May amounted to $11.436 billion dollars, which is the highest profit recorded by Iraq since March, with the highest revenue before that being recorded in 1972.
According to the report, Iraq exported 102,303,020 barrels of oil, with the bulk of the exports coming from oil fields in central and southern Iraq , as well as a small portion exported through the Ceyhan port in Kirkuk.
In April, Iraq pocketed $10.55 billion and exported 101.4 million barrels of oil, marking an increase in exports compared to March's numbers.
The Iraqi government is dependent on oil revenues to cover its costs and pay the salaries of civil servants. Despite suffering in much of 2021 due to record low oil prices, the country's economy is once again on the rise as oil prices are increasing globally.
The increase in oil prices in April helped Iraq pay off the final installments of the Gulf War reparations to Kuwait in December.
Global oil prices have soared amid shortfall fears following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with the US repeatedly urging members of the Organization for the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to increase their oil production in efforts to stabilize the market. Iraq is also part of the agreement on production levels.

Iran has cut a substantial amount of natural gas supplies to Iraq, as the delay in setting a budget by the Iraqi federal government has impeded Baghdad’s ability to repay over a billion dollars’ worth of debts owed to Tehran.
"Due to reducing five million cubic meters of imported Iranian gas, this has led to the necessity of limiting the system’s loads, and therefore has been a reason for reducing hours of electricity power supplied," read a statement from the ministry on Wednesday.
The statement added that the recent development is an additional motivation for the ministry to continue communications with Iran, in hopes of reaching a compromise that will satisfy both sides without leading to a decline in the quality of power provided, or harming the interests of the Iraqi people.
In April, Iran agreed to resume natural gas supplies to Iraq, under the condition that Baghdad repays debts owed to Tehran for previous rounds of gas supply.
Acting Electricity Minister Adil Karim said in April that Baghdad owes Tehran 1.69 billion dollars, adding that the latter is responsible for a minimum of 30 percent of Iraq’s energy.
Yahya al-Ishaq the head of Iran and Iraq’s Joint Chamber of Commerce, told Iranian media on Saturday that Tehran expects to export over $9 billion worth of goods to Baghdad by March next year.
Iraq suffers from chronic electricity shortages, especially felt when summer temperatures reach over 50 degrees Celsius. The high temperatures also lead to a very high consumption of power.
Iran cut its gas exports to Iraq last summer as well, leading to blackouts across the neighboring country.
Iraq expects to receive 55 million cubic feet of gas from Iran starting May 1, more than double the 25 million it receives at the moment, Karim said in April.
