-Lurid Crime Tales-
4000 Migrants Apprehended or Got Away over Weekend in One Texas Border Sector
[Breitbart] Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 3,500 migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Texas over the weekend. Nearly 1,200 of these crossed in six large groups. More than 500 more are reported as got-aways.

Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted a two-part weekend recap video detailing the activities of what is now the nation’s busiest Border Patrol sector.

Owens reported that Del Rio Sector agents took 3,487 migrants into custody over the weekend. This left more than 3,000 in detention by Monday morning. Another 529 are classified as known got-aways by Border Patrol officials.

This is the second weekend in a row where migrant apprehensions in the Del Rio Sector exceeded 3,400. On August 16, Breitbart Texas reported a tweet from Owens showing the arrest of 3,441 migrants.

The chief stated that nearly 1,200 migrants crossed in six large groups over the weekend. The human smuggling tactic of moving large groups across the border ties up Border Patrol resources and can end up with no line operations along the border for significant periods of time.

Also over the weekend, agents rescued 11 migrants from life-threatening situations as they crossed illegally into Texas. Unfortunately, three migrants drowned over the weekend, Owens stated.

On Saturday, Breitbart Texas reported that Eagle Pass-area agents recovered five drowned migrants during a three-day period. Three of those occurred on Thursday and were not included in Owens’s weekend recap. This brings a five-day total of migrant deaths to six.

In July, Del Rio Sector agents led the nation with the apprehension of approximately 50,000 migrants, Breitbart Texas reported.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief: August 24, 2022
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • PROTESTS AT REFUGEE CAMPS — Afghan refugees languishing in the Humanitarian City in the UAE held protests over the lack of movement on their immigration cases, most of which are pending with the United States. Rumors about impending deportations have been escalating over the past month, and many of the families who are stuck in the country have expressed deep concern they will be forced back into danger under the Taliban.

  • NEW TALIBAN STRATEGY IN THE NORTH — Recent military movements in northern Afghanistan suggest the Taliban’s newly appointed special commander for the region, Abdul Qayyum Zakir, is shifting forces around in an attempt to launch a new offensive. A source in the Ministry of Defense has said the new strategy will no longer include direct assaults on NRF strongholds but will instead employ a “side strategy”. The source could not elaborate on what this strategy entails.

  • BORDER CLASHES — Two separate border incidents have been reported over the last 36 hours, one on the Afghanistan-Uzbekistan border in Balkh and one on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Paktia. See the Conflict Tracker below for details.

CONFLICT TRACKER:
Takhar: NRF ambushed a Talib truck in Farkhar district, killing 4 turbans.
Panjshir: Talibs lost 8 turbans in Khenj district in a fight that began August 22nd. Mullah Mohammad Fazil Mazloom may be relieved of command.
Balkh: Clashes in Shortepa district between Uzbek border guards and Talib turbans trying to buy candy near the border. Casualties unknown.
Paktia: Fighting between Tqlibs and Pakistani troops near Tarkhoabay on the Durand Line.

NEXT 24 HOURS
Taliban forces in Panjshir will continue their retrograde operations in an attempt to concentrate their forces in preparation for a shift in their objectives in the province. Fighting is expected, but it will likely be light and spread across a wide front.

Panjshir Officials Confirms Detentions of 'Suspected' Civilians
[T9loNews] Local officials in Panjshir confirmed that some suspected civilians were detained by the Islamic Emirate, and many of them have been released.

A video went viral on social media that showed Islamic Emirate forces detaining individuals who appeared to be civilians.

However,
the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach...
TOLOnews cannot confirm the exact time the video was made.

"A lot of them have been freed after investigations. Two, three or four of them who remained--their cases are under investigation," said Abubakar Sediqqi, a front man for Panjshir.

This comes as human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
activist muppets expressed concerns, saying that these actions will create distance between the Islamic Emirate and citizens.’

"The international law has some rules for war and peace. One of the rules ... is to protect civilians," said Farah Mustafavi, a human rights defender.

"Whenever the government takes irresponsible actions, it causes the people to act coldly toward the government," said Ghulam Sakhi Ihsani, a university instructor.

Earlier, the Human Rights Watch in a report expressed concerns over the "arbitrary detentions" by the Islamic Emirate.

Blast in Mazar-e-Sharif Leaves Four People Injured
[ToloNews] The Balkh Security Command said that a kaboom in Mazar-e-Sharif on Wednesday injured four people, including the perpetrator, who authorities said was carrying explosives when they detonated.

According to the Balkh Police Command's front man, Asif Waziri, the incident occurred at the Balkh Gate of the city.

"Our security forces are looking for such destructive individuals. The security forces won't permit such people, we assure the Balkh people," Waziri stated.

"Today's explosion occurred in Mazar-e-Sharif; four injured have been brought to the hospital; their conditions are good; one of the injured, who may have been carrying explosives, had his legs amputated," said Najib Tawana, director of Balkh Public Health.
So his legs got to Paradise, but he is stuck here without them? How unfortunate.
According to witnesses, six people were maimed.

No group has so far taken responsibility for the earth-shattering kaboom.
But no doubt Mr. Legless will soon enough have plenty to say. The Taliban are known for recruiting for those with a gentle, refined nature.

Africa Subsaharan
Benue State Security Outfit Arrests Suspected Foreign Fighters Linked To Boko Haram

Truly Nigeria is as wretched a hive of scum and villainy as there is in this world.
The Benue State government says its Community Volunteer Guards have arrested five suspected imported muscle known as Amazonian fighters.

It said the suspects who confessed to having links with Islamic terrorists, Boko Haram
...not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
were between 25 and 40 years old.

The Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, Lt. Col. Paul Hemba (retd.), who disclosed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday obtained by The PUNCH, said the suspects were arrested on Monday afternoon at Jato Aka roundabout near a drinking joint.

Hemba gave the names of the suspects as Stanley Vincent, 25; Ojong David; Njeke Ronado, 42; Ngum Emmanuel and Obem Samuel, 26.

The security adviser said one of the suspects, Stanley, when questioned, lied that he was a soldier with the Nigerian Army, serving at Ojo, Lagos State.

The suspect claimed that he was assigned by his boss to escort them to Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
"However,
facts are stubborn; statistics are more pliable...
his identity card was not found on him, a development that triggered suspicion on those suspects," Hemba said.

He stated, "On August 22, 2022, at 3 pm, at Jato Aka Roundabout, near Dzoho Aondofa Drinking Joint, Kwande Local Government Area, the BSCVG arrested five Amazonian Fighters suspected to have had links with not only Boko Haram, but also Amazonians fighting the Republic of Cameroon for years.

"Further checks revealed that chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented except among devout Moslems...
which carry a label ’DANGER’, Military Uniform, charms, and undisclosable number of ammunition were found on the Ambazonians who further disclosed to have stayed at Agogo Hotel, Jato Aka, for a period of six months uninterruptedly, a hotel owned by one Dooorun Agogo."

He however noted that the suspects had been handed over to the police.

The security adviser said the suspects might be responsible for armed robbery and kidnapping incidents that have occurred in the council area in the last six months.

SaharaReporters had reported that Benue State has been a hotbed of insecurity occasioned by attacks by suspected Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
herdsmen on local communities.

Several hundreds of people have been killed including Catholic priests during attacks on worship centres.

Disturbed by the failure of the security agencies to protect the people of the state from the marauding herders, Governor Ortom on August 4, unveiled a community volunteer guards outfit.

The security outfit, the governor said, was established to address community security and safety.

He denied allegations that the volunteer guards were established for political purposes ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Many Soldiers Feared Dead As Terrorists Ambush Nigerian Army Convoy In Zamfara
[SAHARAREPORTERS] A yet-to-be ascertained number of soldiers has been killed following an ambush on a military convoy by button men suspected to be bully boyz in Kekun Waje district of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The troops were said to have been ambushed during a patrol in the area on Wednesday.

Some of the personnel were said to have been injured during the attack and are currently receiving medical attention.

A military source who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters claimed that "about five bodies of slain soldiers have been recovered".

Both security agents and civilians have suffered several attacks at the hands of bully boyz in Zamfara State in recent times.

Agrarian communities in the state have also been terrorised by gangs who raid villages, steal cattle and kidnap residents for ransoms.

In 2019, the state government signed a peace agreement with bandidos.

About 15 brand new Hilux vehicles and cash gifts were also given to leaders of different 'repentant' gangs of bandidos by the governor in 2020.

But despite all these, communities in the state are still being attacked and residents kidnapped and/or killed.

ISIS appoints new leader for Saudi-occupied Taiz region of Yemen
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) has appointed an emir of the so-called "Taiz Wilayat" in the Saudi-led coalition-held areas of Taiz city, pro-coalition media outlets reported.

This came a few hours after the terrorist organization announced the appointment of Khaibar al-Sawdani as the emir of Hadhramout province, which has been witnessing unprecedented tension for days between the coalition factions.

The organization appointed the so-called "Abu Hammam al-Tazi" as the emir of the so-called "Taiz Wilayat" last month, and took al-Turbah area, the center of al-Shamaitain district of Taiz, to use as a den for carrying out and staging terrorist acts, according to the UAE-funded Aden TV.

"Abu Hammam" has good military experience in fighting and appeared several times in the areas of Wadi Hadramout
...the formerly independent Qu'aiti state and sultanate, annexed by Communist South Yemen in 1968, encompassing a region along the Gulf of Aden, extending eastwards to the borders of the Dhofar region of Oman. The people are called Hadhramis and speak Hadhrami Arabic. The city Tarimis is estimated to contain the highest concentration of descendants of the Prophet Muhammad (PTUI) anywhere in the world, approximately seven in every square yard...
when he was accused of fighting alongside Islah forces in the oil plateau, the report said.

It is not yet known whether the emergence of ISIS on the forefront of the scene in recent times has anything to do with the escalating conflict between Emirati factions and Islah in Taiz and the southern governorates, or whether this comes within a framework of a new plan to officially hand over areas under the control of the coalition forces to terrorist groups after their failures over the past years

Suspected Turkish drone kills, injures civilians in Tal Rifaat
[Rudaw] A suspected Ottoman Turkish drone targeted northwestern Syria on Wednesday, killing at least three people and injuring over a dozen others, reported a local media outlet.

Nine people, including women and kiddies, were maimed in the attack on the Kurdish-controlled Tal Rifaat town, Hawar News Agency (ANHA) said.

A war monitor said the drone is "believed to be a Ottoman Turkish one."

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
has renewed threats to launch a fresh military operation against Kurdish fighters in northern Syria in recent months, with Ottoman Turkish officials saying the campaign could begin "any moment," despite the international community’s warnings against the offensive.

Seven people were maimed in an alleged Ottoman Turkish drone attack in Tal Rifaat earlier this month.

Tal Rifaat and Manbij city have been the focal point of Turkey's fresh threats. The former houses hundreds of thousands of Kurds who fled Afrin when Ankara and its Syrian proxies invaded in 2018, forcing the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) out.

Turkey accuses Kurdish forces of using the Tal Rifaat area to attack its forces.

Ankara claims that the YPG is the Syrian offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), an gang struggling for the increased rights of Kurds in Turkey. Turkey has labeled both terrorist organizations.
